[Lipid peroxidation and composition of the erythrocyte membranes in patients with viral hepatitis B]. / Perekisnoe okislenie i sostav lipidov membran éritrotsitov u bol'nykh virusnym gepatitom B.

A study is presented of lipid peroxidation and composition of lipids in erythrocyte membranes in 39 patients with viral hepatitis B. It was established that the content of free cholesterol, lyzophosphatidylcholins, malonic dialdehyde, lipohydroperoxides showed an increase while the level of phospholipids and antioxidant activity decreased in all patients. In patients with viral hepatitis B cytolytic syndrome the content of phosphatidylcholins and sphingomyelins was reduced while in those with cholestasis syndrome the content of phosphatidylethanolamines was reduced.

[Pharmacokinetics of antipyrine in viral and alcoholic lesions of the liver]. / Farmakokinetika antipirina pri virusnom i alkogol'nom porazhenii pecheni.

Parameters of antipyrine pharmacokinetics have been studied in 82 patients with viral, alcoholic and combined liver affections and in 19 healthy subjects. All the patients exhibited changes showing a reduction of liver function responsible for drug metabolism. Disturbances of antipyrine pharmacokinetics were more pronounced in acute alcohol-aggravated hepatitis B than in hepatitis B without alcoholic aggravation.

Content of blood bilirubin was increased 3.3-11.4-fold as well as 4-10-activation of alanine aminotransferase and glutathione S-transferase was found in patients with virus hepatitis as compared with normal state. At the same time, lipid peroxidation was activated 1.9-3.5-fold in blood plasma as shown by means of chemoluminescence procedure, while the antioxidative activity was decreased 2.2-2.3-fold.
