RESUMO

The paper deals with the process of obtaining sanitary-and-epidemiological reports for a therapeutic-and-preventive institution. Each of the expertise stages from the choice of a room to the obtaining a sanitary-and-epidemiological opinion and a license is described. Their application and objectives are given. The schematic diagram for obtaining a sanitary-and-epidemiological opinion and a license is shown. The paper is intended for the specialists of the Russian Inspectorate for the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare and the businessmen who are going to deal with operations using ionizing radiation sources.

RESUMO

The article contains data on radiation situation in Moscow region, characteristics of overall beta-activity of ambient air, fall-out density, radionuclide contents of foods. Radionuclides content of environment appeared to decrease by 2-3 orders. Individual doses of internal irradiation for Moscow population are 100 times lower than the levels legally set for technogenic sources.

RESUMO

The paper presents the results of examination of the chemical and radionuclide composition of natural waters and snow cover in Moscow. Areas with abnormal contents of tritium are found in the underground and surface waters and snow cover. The high concentrations of strontium, boron, fluorine, and barium are ascertained to be associated with natural factors. Areas of technogenically polluted underground waters are identified. Recommendations are given for further studies. Particular emphasis is laid on that the artesian wells that are a reservoir source of water supply under emergency are to be revised.

RESUMO

An experience of using, at the State Sanitary and Epidemiologic Supervision (SSES), the Control X-ray Dosimeter (DRK-1) to calculate the dose-square product in the radiation-and-hygienic evaluation of medical X-ray units of different types is described in the paper. The qualitative evaluation monitoring applicable to X-ray equipment is based on the finding and subsequent analysis of graphic dose-square relationships, i.e. anode voltage(measured manually or by X-ray exposure meter), exposition time, anode current, and current-time product. Real graphs for both normally functioning and for malfunctioning units are depicted. The unit radiation output is described.

RESUMO

People working in modern carpet industry are exposed to a complex of factors of different origin, the most important among which are general vibration and styrene vapors. It has been found out in animal experiments simulating working conditions, that the central nervous system is the most sensitive both under an isolated and joint exposure to the factors. The joint exposure of animals to styrene and vibration may be evaluated as having different targets depending on the parameters under study.
