RESUMO

The automated system for mass examination and follow-up of therapeutic patients has been developed, tested and introduced with the help of computer family "Electronics" and "IBM". The system is designed for the use at polyclinics, health units and health centres. The following programmes are provided: premedical screening, ECG data interpretation, analysis of physician's data and management of follow-up, primary and secondary prevention of chronic diseases. The application of this system in 2336 persons resulted in substantial saving of physician's time during mass examinations, improved the quality of screening and follow-up.

RESUMO

In 30 patients with disseminated sclerosis (more than 500 sera) the authors studied autoantibodies in Steffen's reaction to different homologous antigens of normal and "pathological" brain and to some internal organs. A normal brain tissue appeared to be immunologically more differentiated than the tissues of patients who had died of disseminated sclerosis. The antigen properties of the white matter of frontal lobes were more expressed than the gray matter, subcortical nodes, tissues of the cerebellum and spinal cord. Gliose-changed nervous tissues are immunologically not active. There was a certain parallelism between the supposed focal substrate of neurological symptoms and the data of autoimmune reactions which may have a topico-diagnostic significance. The authors discuss the antibrain antibodies found in disseminated sclerosis from the concept of their preventive function.

RESUMO

The main cause of progressive forms of tickborne encephalitis is a prolonged persistence of certain viral strains in the brain. Although there are no virals with a selective capability to lead only to an acute or chronic encephalitis, nevertheless in the epidemiological process there is a selection of virals capable of bringing on chronic forms of the disease. In cases of an incapacity of immunological factors bor a defence during the initial phase of the infectious process there may be prerequisites to a fixation of the virals in the brain and a chronic development of the neuroinfections. It is necessary to differentiate active neuroinfectious processes due to persistent virals and postencephalitic reparative-dystrophical syndromes. This permits to avoid a hyperdiagnosis and more reasonably select therapeutical measures in the evaluation of their effectivity.
