Os benefícios da visita pré- operatória de enfermagem para o cliente cirúrgico: revisão sistemática de literatura / Los beneficios de la visita preoperatoria de enfermaría para el cliente quirúrgico: revisión sistemática de literatura / The benefits of preoperative nursing visits for surgical patients: a systematic review of literature

Identificar os benefícios da visita pré-operatória de enfermagem para o cliente que se submeterá à cirurgia. Método: Pesquisa exploratória, com abordagem qualitativa, bibliográfica, realizada através de uma revisão sistemática na Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS), nas bases de dados do LILACS e BDENF, onde foram selecionadas 11 bibliografias potenciais, após a pré-leitura e leitura seletiva, realizou-se ainda a leitura interpretativa e a análise temática. Resultados: Emergiram duas categorias, benefícios da visita pré-operatoria de enfermagem, e cuidados pré-operatórios de enfermagem ao paciente cirúrgico. Conclusão: A visita pré-operatória é relevante e envolve a influencia mútua e o processo de comunicação e confiança entre o enfermeiro e o paciente, além de ajudar na adaptação do cliente cirúrgico ao ambiente hospitalar, amenizando seus medos e ansiedades fazendo com que o mesmo aceite melhor e enfrente o problema, proporcionando uma cirurgia tranqüila e uma boa recuperação.

Objective: To identify the benefits of preoperative nursing evaluations for the client who will undergo surgery. Method: Exploratory study, with a qualitative bibliographic approach, accomplished through a systematic review in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), and in the LILACS and BDENF databases, where 11 potential bibliographies were selected. After the pre-reading and selective reading, there was also an interpretative reading and thematic analysis. Results: Two categories emerged, the benefits of the preoperative nursing visit, and preoperative nursing care for the surgical patient. ConclusIon: The preoperative visit is important, and involves the mutual influence of the process of communication and trust between nurse and patient. Beyond helping in the adapting of surgery patients to the hospital environment, it eases their fears and anxieties by making them accept and face the problem, providing a smooth surgery and a good recovery.

Identificar los beneficios de la visita preoperatoria de enfermería para el cliente que se someterá a cirugía. Metodo: Se trata de un estudio exploratorio, con enfoque cualitativo, bibliográfico, realizado a través de una revisión sistemática en la Biblioteca Virtual de Salud (BVS), en las bases de datos de LILACS y BDENF, donde 11 bibliografías potenciales fueron seleccionadas, después de la pre-lectura y lectura selectiva, se realizó todavía la lectura interpretativa y el análisis temático. Resultados: Emergieron dos categorías, beneficios de la visita preoperatoria de enfermería, y cuidados preoperatorios de enfermaría al paciente quirúrgico. Conclusión: La visita preoperatoria es relevante y envuelve la influencia mutua y el proceso de comunicación y confianza entre el enfermero y el paciente, además de ayudar en la adaptación del cliente quirúrgico al ambiente hospitalario, aminorando sus miedos y ansiedades haciendo que él mismo acepte mejor y enfrente el problema, proporcionando una cirugía tranquila y una buena recuperación.

Cat scratch disease complicated with aseptic meningitis and neuroretinitis.

Cat scratch disease (CSD) is a self limited condition characterized by fever, lymph node enlargement and less often eye involvement. Central nervous system involvement by Bartonella henselae infection is possibly an important cause of morbidity; its role as an agent of aseptic meningitis is unknown. We report a case of a 40 years-old man with CSD accompanied by aseptic meningitis and neuroretinitis. Serum indirect immmunofluorescence (IFI) assays for B. henselae were positive and the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis showed mononuclear pleocytosis and increased level of protein. Serological tests for other etiologies were negative. The patient responded well to antibiotic therapy with oral doxycicline plus rifampin and in the 12th day of hospitalization evolved to total regression of the headache and partial regression of the visual loss. Clinicians should consider CSD as a differential diagnosis when assessing previously healthy patients with aseptic meningitis associated with regional lymphadenopathy and epidemiological history of feline contact.
