RESUMO

The purpose of the present work was to study the level of microelements and vitamins in adolescents with diffuse nontoxic goiter. It has been shown that comorbid biliary dyskinesia leads to significant dysregulation of vitamin and mineral metabolism: the level of essential elements was decreased and the level of toxic elements was increased. Comorbid biliary dyskinesia in adolescents with diffuse nontoxic goiter was accompanied by a disbalance of vitamins. The changes found in micronutrients have sex differences.

RESUMO

The paper submits data on the antigenic composition of HLA system in members of nuclear families of adolescent boys presenting with the delay in sexual maturation. Positive and negative associations of particular antigens with sexual underdevelopment are stated. Estimated in the families was the highest incidence rate of gaplotypes A 28-B 40, A 28-B 8, A 1-B 40, and A 3-B 40. The authors come out with a suggestion that it might be possible to use the identified antigens in prognostication of delayed puberty.

RESUMO

Radioimmune assay of serum levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in 216 girls aged 13-18 years with pubertal delay (PD) unrelated to gonadal dysgenesis have shown that LH and FSH levels were normal in 48.1%; one or both gonadotropins were decreased in 17.1%, only LH level was increased in 13.9% and only FSH level in 12.6%. Hypergonadotropinemia was seen in 8.3% of the patients. Bioassay of total gonadotropin excretion was performed in 117 patients. Comparison of the radioimmune and biological assays suggested misproduction of the biologically active gonadotropins in a proportion of girls with PD. Hypoestrogenism in normogonadotropic PD appears to be related to regional blood and lymph flow disturbance.

RESUMO

Indolamine metabolism was studied in 203 patients with retarded sexual development of different genesis and in 116 girls of the same age. Considerable disorders in the level of serotonin and the products of its metabolism: 5-oxy-indoleacetic acid and melatonin, a hormone synthesized by the pineal gland--were found in abnormal sexual maturation. The nature of revealed changes depended, to a large extent, on genesis of disease which could be used for differential diagnosis of different forms of retarded sexual development. Possible involvement of indolamines in pathogenetic mechanisms ensuring the formation of a pathological process, was discussed.

RESUMO

Serotonin and norepinephrine levels in the hypothalamus and blood of albino female rats with a normal and abnormal course of puberty were studied to find a solution to the problem of the role of monoamines in the pathogenesis of pubertal disorders. Intense physical exercise the 21- and 40-day animals were subjected to, was used to simulate a delay in puberty. It was established that the nature and intensity of disorders of the sexual system were determined, to a certain extent, by changes in the monoamine content in the hypothalamus over time. A significant rise of the serotonin level and a simultaneous decrease in the epinephrine level were revealed in the rats with delayed puberty. Possible mechanisms of the role of monoamines in the pathogenesis of pubertal disorders, function of the female sexual system in the period of puberty are discussed.
