Two consecutive cases of renal oncocytomatosis in a single-center experience.

Renal oncocytoma is a rare finding and represents the small percentage of all kidney tumors. This kind of tumor is benign and diagnosed accidentally (on autopsy or during nephrectomy performed for other reasons). On rare occasions, truly multiple tumors are seen, affecting the entire renal parenchyma; this condition is called oncocytosis or oncocytomatosis. Here we present two cases of this condition, diagnosed consecutively in a single internal medicine department.

[Diagnostic difficulties in a case of multifocal changes in the brain in computerized tomography and in magnetic resonance imaging]. / Trudnosci diagnostyczne w przypadku wieloogniskowych zmian mózgu w obrazie tomografii komputerowej i rezonansie magnetycznym.

This paper presents a case of multifocal metastases in the brain, which on the basis of typical imaging magnetic resonance and computerized tomography suggested possible parasitic changes (cerebral cysticercosis). On the basis of these pictures cerebral cysticercosis was diagnosed, in spite in the absence of serologic changes in blood and cerebrospinal fluid. The lack of improvement after anticysticercosis drugs, the further course of the disease as well as new foci located in other organs outside the brain, allowed to recognize numerous metastases in the brain although until the end of the clinical observation the primary lesion of the neoplasm was not found. The histopathological examination of samples of brain tissue confirmed the diagnosis of numerous metastases of poorly differentiated carcinoma.

[Endoscopic brain surgery of intracranial cysts: report of 2 cases]. / Torbiele wewnatrzczaszkowe leczone metoda neuroendoskopowa--opis dwóch przypadków.

Two cases are presented of intracranial cystic lesions, which were treated by the neuroendoscopic method. In the two cases the patients' radiological and clinical conditions improved. Neuroendoscopy is a very effective and safe method to treat intracranial cystic lesions.

[Consequences of exposure to asbestos dust]. / Skutki narazenia na pyl azbestu.

Mesotheliomas of pleura are neoplasms that rarely occur. Their etiology is connected with occupational exposure as well as environmental contact with asbestos dust. In this work, two cases of mesotheliomas of pleura are presented: first one with occupational exposure, the other one with environmental exposure. An increased number of mesothelioma diseases has been emphasised and endangerment of inhabitants health living closely to asbestos processing factory as well.

[Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease in a large family]. / Wielotorbielowate zwyrodnienie nerek typu doroslych w wieloosobowej rodzinie.

The diagnosis of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) was established in persons (6 adult and 8 children) among 34 members of a three generations family. The presence of coexisting cysts in liver was ascertained in 3 women, and the presence of ovarian cysts was discovered in a 14 years old girl. Arterial hypertension was observed in 2 men and 2 women. The symptoms of initiating renal failure were found in 1 patient. The clinical observation of the most numerous among described in accessible literature family will be continued.
