RESUMO

Bioelectrical activity was registered in the central sector of the glossopharyngeal nerve. The impulsation was processed on a specialized computer "ATAK-350" in the real-time regimen. Interval histogramms were made, based on the result of survey of 500 inter-impulse intervals. It has been established that during a 4-day food deprivation bimodal distribution of inter-impulse intervals takes place. The first maximum occurs within 10-15 ms, the second--within 190-200 ms. After the irritation of the stomach by the rubber balloon, containing 1.5-2.0 ml of water, monomolar distribution of inter-impulse intervals (with the maximum in the range of 55-60 ms) takes place. It is believed that specific motivating excitement is manifested not only in central structures, but also involves peripheral receptor structure and tunes them to accept adequate stimuli.

RESUMO

The respiratory center has been studied as an example of the neural center organization. This organization is presented by a number of cellular populations, each of them consisting of several neuronal groups (components of the populations) of various types. These groups are considered as relatively autonomic sets of various neuronal categories, where 1-5 large efferent (phase) neurons are present as a central link. Analyzing the spatial arrangement and functional interrelations of the neurons in the group, it is possible to conclude that the groups revealed (respirons) are functional units of neuronal activity. Applying the theory of functional system (P. K. Anokhin) for analyzing connections between the neurons in the group and the afferent impulsation that gets into action sphere of the group, it is possible to formulate certain criteria on integrity and a relative functional independence of the neuronal groups as working units of neuronal activity, in which the reticular component of the groups as widely represented in all parts of the CNS, a suggestion is made that the respirons are the natural invariant of the structure when the cerebral function is reorganized.

RESUMO

Data characterizing visual evoked potentials in neuralgia of the trigeminal nerve are presented. In contrast to healthy individuals, patients with this kind of neuralgia displayed a well pronounced character of early and late components of evoked potentials not only in the occipital but also in the central regions. Other features characteristic of their potentials were a hypersynchronous post-discharge and the presence of peaks. All these findings suggest the resemblance between the central mechanisms of neuralgia of the trigeminal nerve and those of epilepsy.
