RESUMO

Glucagon-like peptide-1 ( GLP-1 ) is secreted by gut enteroendocrine cells. GLP-1 receptor agonists ( GLP-1 RAs) control glucose-related augmentation of insulin and suppress glu-cagon secretion. GLP-lRAs also inhibit gastric emptying, food intake and limit weight gain. In the past decade, significant progresses have been made in the investigation on the effects of GLP-1 RAs on cardiovascular system. The potential advantages of oral small-molecule GLP-1 RAs could improve the application of this class of drugs. This review highlights the multiple cardiovascular profiles of GLP-1 RAs in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases to provide new insights into cardiovascular benefits of GLP-1 RAs.

RESUMO

Lung cancer, the most common malignant tumor, is characterized by a complex pathogenesis and high malignancy, and poses a significant threat to the health and lives of affected individuals. p53 signaling pathway plays a crucial role in the progression of lung cancer and is considered one of the potential targets for targeted therapy. In recent years, multiple studies have indicated that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can exert anticancer effects by modulating the p53 signaling pathway. Based on this, this article systematically summarizes the current status and progress of research on TCM intervening in lung cancer by regulating p53 signaling pathway. It was found that TCM formula and preparations, such as Qingjin desheng tablet, Tiaoqi xiaoji decoction, Bufei tongluo jiedu formula, Jianpi bushen formula and Yiqi fuzheng jiedu formula, can promote autophagy and apoptosis of lung cancer cells, inhibit the growth and metastasis of lung cancer cells and strengthen the immune function of the body by activating p53 signaling pathway, thereby inhibiting lung cancer. TCM monomers, such as pseudoginsenoside-Rh2, saikosaponin D, polyphyllin Ⅶ, dendrobiine, sophoridine, gambogic acid, triptolide and triptolide succinate monoester YJ-4, can accelerate cell apoptosis, inhibit the proliferation of lung cancer cells and regulate cell cycle by activating p53 signaling pathway, thereby inhibiting lung cancer.

RESUMO

Objective:To compare the effects of different test meals on postprandial triglycerides and to optimize the standard meal composition and the blood sampling protocol for the oral fat tolerance test. Methods:This study is a prospective, open-label, randomized, cross-over trial. In March 2023, 36 volunteers were recruited in Hebei General Hospital. They underwent a health examination and oral glucose tolerance test. Twenty-six healthy volunteers(11 males and 15 females) were included in this study, with an average age of(39.08±4.56) years. Each volunteer received 75 g protein meal, 75 g fat meal, 700 kcal fixed-calorie high-fat mixed meal, and a high-fat mixed meal with energy adjusted based on 10 kcal/kg body weight. A one-week washout period of regular diet was applied before each trial. Blood was collected at fasting status and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 hours after a meal to detect serum triglycerides, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C), glucose, and insulin. The variations of postprandial metabolic indicators over time following the consumption of different test meals were analyzed. The disparities in postprandial metabolic responses between the two types of mixed meals were compared. Results:The protein meal, fat meal, fixed-calorie high-fat mixed meal, and adjusted-calorie high-fat mixed meal resulted in postprandial triglyceride increases of 22.45%, 115.40%, 77.14%, and 63.63%, and insulin increase of 560.43%, 85.69%, 554.18%, and 598.97%, respectively, and with reductions in total cholesterol, LDL-C, and HDL-C ranging from 5.64%-21.81%, respectively. The blood glucose changed slightly. Changes in metabolic indicators mainly occured within 4 hours. The comparison of the characteristics of postprandial triglycerides between the two high-fat mixed meals showed no statistically significant differences( P>0.05). Conclusion:A standardize protocol with a 700 kcal fixed-calorie high-fat mixed meal as test meal, and blood lipid levels measured at fasting and at 1, 2, 3, and 4 hours after consumption, can serve as an optimized approach for oral fat tolerance test.

RESUMO

Cationic liposomes,as non-viral vectors, are widely used in gene therapy and gene silencing.Although numerous cationic liposomes have various structures, they can all improve the per-formance of gene delivery. As gene therapy is increasingly studied,it may be foreseen that new cationic lipoplexes will be explored. In this review,we aim to discuss four constituent domains of cationic lipids(headgroup, hydrophobic domain, linker and helper lipids)in gene delivery. This article attempts to demonstrate that various lipid structures show different transfection efficiency and cytotoxicity by sum-marizing the similarities and differences between the four parts of cationic lipids.Furthermore, their major influencing factors are covered. Finally, three clinical cases of ionizable lipids are described to reveal their characteristics and differences from cationic lipids. This paper is intended to provide a conceptual framework for the design of cationic liposomes and for the selection of cationic lipids.

RESUMO

Objective:To explore the predictive value of admission serum homocysteine levels and quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) indicators for adverse outcomes in patients with cerebral hemorrhage. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on 89 patients, who were collected as the study objects with hemorrhagic stroke treated in the neurology intensive care unit at Kailuan General Hospital from January 2017 to December 2022. Patients were categorized into two groups based on modified Rankin Scale (mRS) scores at discharge: a good prognosis group (mRS≤2) and a poor prognosis group (mRS 3-6). Clinical data and qEEG monitoring of various brain regions were collected. The impact factors of hemorrhagic prognosis were analyzed using multifactorial logistic regression. ROC curve analysis was performed to assess the predictive value of qEEG and admission homocysteine levels for adverse outcomes in hemorrhagic stroke patients.Results:(1) The age of the poor prognosis group was higher than that of the good prognosis group((66.51+13.64) to (60.53+11.69), t=2.15, P=0.034) and admission serum homocysteine levels were significantly higher in the poor prognosis group than in the good prognosis group (17.28(15.52,24.72)mmol/L to 14.50(10.28,16.00)mmol/L, Z=4.14, P<0.001). (2) In the poor prognosis group, power values of δ brain waves in leads Fp1-2, F4, C4, P4, F8, and T4 were higher than those in the good prognosis group (87.99(41.57,196.69) to 50.67(26.64,54.75), Z=2.76, P=0.006); (79.17(40.71,200.00) to 45.06(20.22,61.00), Z=2.10, P=0.036); (72.64(34.97,219.78) to 34.42(19.81,63.4), Z=2.03, P=0.043); (65.06(33.36,177.45) to 28.12(15.88,63.36), Z=2.08, P=0.038); (52.92(25.64,187.91) to 23.61(11.67,43.26), Z=2.21, P=0.027); (66.67(32.56,180.76) to 36.31(17.2,53.78), Z=2.46, P=0.014); (57.30(25.24,127.04) to 29.57(11.91,41.89), Z=2.26, P=0.024). Power values of slow-wave index in leads Fp1-2, F3-4, C3-4, P4, F7-8, and T4, as well as the overall brain average, were higher in the poor prognosis group (6.64(2.98,10.42) to 3.65(2.31,4.30), Z=2.65, P=0.01); (6.53(3.96,11.65) to 3.53(2.56,4.51), Z=2.30, P=0.022); (7.38(4.62,13.12) to 3.83(1.70,4.71), Z=2.38, P=0.017); (5.88(4.02,12.15) to 3.18(2.21,4.46), Z=2.29, P=0.022); (6.13(3.83,11.22) to 2.97(1.53,4.58), Z=2.01, P=0.044); (6.07(3.53,9.39) to 2.74(2.00,3.81), Z=2.40, P=0.016);(4.11(2.51,9.23) to 2.18(1.37,2.82), Z=2.25, P=0.024); (5.71(3.81,10.44) to 3.22(1.86,4.04), Z=2.28, P=0.023); (6.00(3.65,10.37) to 3.04(2.00,4.00), Z=2.39, P=0.017); (4.08(2.56,8.33) to 2.08(1.60,3.14), Z=2.50, P=0.013), with significant statistical differences noted (5.45(3.31,10.08) to 3.17(2.02,4.88), Z=3.62, P=0.005). (3) Logistic regression results showed that admission homocysteine levels ( OR 1.311,95% CI 1.008-1.705, P=0.044), admission NIHSS scores ( OR 1.588,95% CI 1.074-2.349, P=0.020), and overall brain average slow-wave index were influencing factors for poor prognosis in cerebral hemorrhage ( OR 8.596,95% CI 1.088-67.889, P=0.041). (4) ROC curve analysis revealed that the AUC for predicting adverse outcomes in cerebral hemorrhage was 0.768 (95% CI (0.665, 0.872)) for admission homocysteine levels, 0.743 (95% CI (0.634, 0.852)) for the overall brain average slow-wave index, and 0.896 (95% CI (0.827, 0.965)) for admission NIHSS. The cutoff values were 15.67, 3.62, and 8.5, respectively. Sensitivity was 77.8%, 71.1%, and 68.9%, and specificity was 59.4%, 68.7%, and 100%, respectively. The Youden indices were 0.372, 0.398, and 0.689. Conclusion:In the acute phase of cerebral hemorrhage, electroencephalographic physiological changes manifest shows an increase in the δ, θ, and slow-wave index throughout the entire brain. Higher admission homocysteine levels suggest a worse prognosis in patients with cerebral hemorrhage. Admission homocysteine levels and overall brain average slow-wave index have certain predictive value for adverse outcomes in acute cerebral hemorrhage.

RESUMO

AIM: High-density lipoprotein (HDL) can be divided into several subfractions based on density, size and composition. Accumulative evidence strongly suggests that the subfractions of HDL have very different roles in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. The purpose of this study was to further delineate the relationship between HDL subfractions extracted by microfluidic chip electrophoresis and the vulnerability of plaques in patients with intracranial atherosclerosis with a high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HRMRI) study. METHODS: We prospectively enrolled patients with single atherosclerotic plaque in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) or basilar artery (BA) between July 2020 and Dec 2022 and performed 3-tesla HRMRI on the relevant artery. The HDL cholesterol concentration and HDL subfractions (HDL-2a, HDL-2b and HDL-3) percentage were analyzed in serum samples from the same patients by electrophoresis on a microfluidics system. RESULTS: A total of 81 MCA or BA plaques [38 (46.9%) symptomatic and 43 (53.1%) asymptomatic] in 81 patients were identified on HRMRI. Patients with symptomatic plaques had a significantly lower HDL-2b level than asymptomatic plaques [symptomatic vs. asymptomatic: 0.16 (0.10-0.18) vs. 0.27(0.21-0.34), p = 0.001]. After adjusting for demographics and vascular risk factors, logistic regression showed that HDL-2b was inversely associated with asymptomatic plaques (B = -0.04, P = 0.017). According to receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve model analysis, the cutoff point of HDL-2b in predicting asymptomatic plaques was 0.21 mmol/L (Area under curve: 0.719, specificity: 73.7%, sensitivity: 72.1%). Furthermore, plaque enhancement on HRMRI (P < 0.001), positive remodeling (P < 0.001), plaque load (P < 0.001) and luminal stenosis (P < 0.001) were superior among patients with HDL-2b < 0.21 mmol/L. CONCLUSIONS: Our data showed that serum HDL-2b levels may serve as a biomarker for predicting vulnerability in intracranial atherosclerotic plaques.

RESUMO

Additively manufactured metamaterials are architectured cellular materials that can be engineered through structural innovations to achieve unusual mechanical and multifunctional properties. Among these, hollow-strut lattice (HSL) metamaterials have proven to allow outstanding structural efficiency, with a multifunctional architecture ideal for lightweight, biomedical, microfluidic, and thermal engineering. To capitalize on their structural efficiency and significantly extend their mechanical envelope, a thin-plate lattice topology is seamlessly integrated into the inner hollow space of an HSL topology. This integration serves a dual purpose: to radically enhance the resistance of the irregular HSL nodes to deformation and to uniformly distribute the applied stresses in the new topology for unparalleled strength. Fabricated in titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V with densities of 1.0-1.8 g cm-3 , this thin-plate integrated hollow-strut lattice (TP-HSL) metamaterials achieve relative yield strength that well surpasses the empirical upper limit of all cellular metals, including HSL and solid-strut lattice (SSL) metamaterials made from various metallic alloys. Furthermore, their absolute yield strength drastically exceeds that of magnesium alloys with comparable densities while inheriting the high corrosion resistance, biocompatibility, heat resistance, and other unique attributes of Ti-6Al-4V. Titanium multi-topology metamaterials expand the boundaries of lightweight multifunctional metallic materials.

RESUMO

The stoichiometry of senesced leaves is pivotal in nutrient cycling and can be significantly influenced by soil salinization, a rising global issue threatening the functionality of ecosystems. However, the impacts of soil salinization on senesced leaf stoichiometry are not fully understood. In this study, we conducted a pot experiment with varying soil salt concentrations to examine their influence on the concentrations and stoichiometric ratios of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), sodium (Na), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and zinc (Zn) in the senesced leaves of Suaeda glauca (Bunge). Compared to the control group, salt treatments significantly enhanced Na concentration while diminishing the concentrations of K, Ca, Mg, Zn, N, and P. Interestingly, as salinity levels escalated, N concentration maintained stability, whereas P concentration exhibited an increasing trend. Moreover, K, Ca, and Mg significantly declined as salt levels rose. Salt treatments brought about significant changes in stoichiometric ratios, with the N:P, K:Na, N:Na, N:Mg, and Ca : Mg ratios dropping and the N:Ca and N:K ratios rising, illustrating the varying nutrient coupling cycles under different salt conditions. These findings shed light on the plasticity of stoichiometric traits in S. glauca senesced leaves in response to soil salinization shifts, which could potentially offer insights into nutrient cycling reactions to soil salinization.

RESUMO

Titanium alloys are advanced lightweight materials, indispensable for many critical applications1,2. The mainstay of the titanium industry is the α-ß titanium alloys, which are formulated through alloying additions that stabilize the α and ß phases3-5. Our work focuses on harnessing two of the most powerful stabilizing elements and strengtheners for α-ß titanium alloys, oxygen and iron1-5, which are readily abundant. However, the embrittling effect of oxygen6,7, described colloquially as 'the kryptonite to titanium'8, and the microsegregation of iron9 have hindered their combination for the development of strong and ductile α-ß titanium-oxygen-iron alloys. Here we integrate alloy design with additive manufacturing (AM) process design to demonstrate a series of titanium-oxygen-iron compositions that exhibit outstanding tensile properties. We explain the atomic-scale origins of these properties using various characterization techniques. The abundance of oxygen and iron and the process simplicity for net-shape or near-net-shape manufacturing by AM make these α-ß titanium-oxygen-iron alloys attractive for a diverse range of applications. Furthermore, they offer promise for industrial-scale use of off-grade sponge titanium or sponge titanium-oxygen-iron10,11, an industrial waste product at present. The economic and environmental potential to reduce the carbon footprint of the energy-intensive sponge titanium production12 is substantial.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the association between 8 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (HSD) gene family and human digit ratio (2D ∶ 4D). Methods Randomly selected 808 college students (400 males and 408 females) as subjects, the digit ratio of left and right fingers were measured and calculated using computer image software. Eight SNPs (rs1000283, rs2236903, rs5479, rs56303414, rs676387, rs4445895, rs2066474, rs8190478) in HSD11B and HSD17B gene families were genotyped by multiplex PCR. The association between 2D ∶4D and different genotypes was analyzed by One-Way ANOVA. Results Female left hand(L)2D ∶ 3D, L2D ∶4D, L3D ∶4D, right hand(R)2D ∶4D, R2D ∶5D were significantly higher than male (P0. 05). The genotypes frequency of the 8 SNPs were not significantly associated with digit ratio (2D ∶4D) in both males and females (P>0. 05). Conclusion There are significant gender differences in digit ratio in Ningxia Han college students, but there is no correlation between digit ratio and 8 SNPs in HSD11B and HSD17B gene families, suggesting that HSD11B and HSD17B gene families may have nothing to do with the formation of human digit ratio.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND@#After major liver resection, the volume status of patients is still undetermined. However, few concerns have been raised about postoperative fluid management. We aimed to compare gut function recovery and short-term prognosis of the patients after laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) with or without inferior vena cava (IVC) respiratory variability-directed fluid therapy in the anesthesia intensive care unit (AICU).@*METHODS@#This randomized controlled clinical trial enrolled 70 patients undergoing LLR. The IVC respiratory variability was used to optimize fluid management of the intervention group in AICU, while the standard practice of fluid management was used for the control group. The primary outcome was the time to flatus after surgery. The secondary outcomes included other indicators of gut function recovery after surgery, postoperative length of hospital stay (LOS), liver and kidney function, the severity of oxidative stress, and the incidence of severe complications associated with hepatectomy.@*RESULTS@#Compared with patients receiving standard fluid management, patients in the intervention group had a shorter time to anal exhaust after surgery (1.5 ± 0.6 days vs. 2.0 ± 0.8 days) and lower C-reactive protein activity (21.4 [95% confidence interval (CI): 11.9-36.7] mg/L vs. 44.8 [95%CI: 26.9-63.1] mg/L) 24 h after surgery. There were no significant differences in the time to defecation, serum concentrations of D -lactic acid, malondialdehyde, renal function, and frequency of severe postoperative complications as well as the LOS between the groups.@*CONCLUSION@#Postoperative IVC respiratory variability-directed fluid therapy in AICU was facilitated in bowel movement but elicited a negligible beneficial effect on the short-term prognosis of patients undergoing LLR.@*TRIAL REGISTRATION@#ChiCTR-INR-17013093.

RESUMO

For the transportation process of rescuing wounded personnel on naval vessels, a new type of shoulder type exoskeleton stretcher for individual soldier was designed in this paper. The three-dimensional model of the shoulder type exoskeleton stretcher for individual soldier was constructed using three dimensional modeling software. Finite element analysis technique was employed to conduct statics simulation, modal analysis, and transient dynamics analysis on the designed exoskeleton stretcher. The results show that the maximum stress of the exoskeleton stretcher for walking on flat ground is 265.55 MPa, which is lower than the allowable strength of the fabrication material. Furthermore, the overall deformation of the structure is small. Modal analysis reveals that the natural frequency range of the exoskeleton stretcher under different gait conditions is 1.96 Hz to 28.70 Hz, which differs significantly from the swing frequency of 1 Hz during walking. This indicates that the designed structure can effectively avoid resonance. The transient dynamics analysis results show that the maximum deformation and stress of exoskeleton stretcher remain within the safety range, which meets the expected performance requirements. In summary, the shoulder type exoskeleton stretcher for individual soldier designed in this study can solve the problem of requiring more than 2 people to carry for the existing stretcher, especially suitable for narrow spaces of naval vessels. The research results of this paper can provide a new solution for the rescue of wounded personnel on naval vessels.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To analysis variants of COL4A5 gene in two Chinese pedigrees affected with Alport syndrome (AS) and provide prenatal diagnosis for them.@*METHODS@#Two unrelated ethnic Han Chinese pedigrees who had visited the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University respectively in September 2018 and January 2020 were selected as the study subjects. Clinical data were collected, and genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral venous blood and amniotic fluid samples for genetic testing. Following next generation sequencing, candidate variants of the COL4A5 gene were verified by Sanger sequencing and bioinformatic analysis. The gender of the fetuses was determined by the presence of sex-determining region on Y (SRY).@*RESULTS@#Genetic testing revealed that the proband and a fetus from pedigree 1 had both harbored a c.2723G>A (p.Gly908Glu) variant in exon 32 of the COL4A5 gene, whilst the proband and a fetus from pedigree 2 had both harbored a c.3817G>A (p.Gly1273Asp) variant in exon 44 of the COL4A5 gene. Based on the guidelines from the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG), both variants were classified as likely pathogenic (PP2+PM2_Supporting). Following exclusion of maternal contamination, PCR amplification of the SRY region indicated that both fetuses were males.@*CONCLUSION@#The c.2723G>A (p.Gly908Glu) and c.3817G>A (p.Gly1273Asp) variants of the COL4A5 gene probably underlay the AS in the two pedigrees. Detection of the SRY region can reliably identify the fetal sex, which is conducive to the prenatal diagnosis. Above results have also enriched the mutational spectrum of the COL4A5 gene and provided a reference for correlating the genotype and phenotype of the AS.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To retrospectively analyze efficacy of single structure internal fixation and double structure internal fixation in the treatment of ipsilateral femoral shaft and neck fracture, and analyze their indications.@*METHODS@#From June 2015 to December 2020, 21 patients with ipsilateral femoral shaft and femoral neck fracture were treated, including 14 males and 7 females, aged 23 to 69 years old with an average of(38.1±12.9) years old. According to different femoral shaft fracture sites, some patients were fixed with cephalomedullary implant for both femoral neck and the femoral shaft(single structure, InterTan or PFNA Ⅱ), some patients were fixed with cannulated screws for the femoral neck and a retrograde locking nail for the femoral shaft (dual structure), and postoperative function and complications were recorded during follow-up. In 10 cases of single-structure fixation, the femoral necks were all basicervical fractures, and the femoral shaft fractures were located in the proximal isthmus;11 cases were double-structure fixation, 9 cases in 11 were basal type of femoral neck, 2 cases in 11 were neck type, and the femoral shaft fractures were located in the isthmus and the distal isthmus.@*RESULTS@#All patients were followed up for 12 to 27 months. No femoral head necrosis, deformity, delay or nonunion occurred in the patients with single-structure fixation, and no delayed union or nonunion occurred in femoral shaft fractures; At the final follow-up, Harris score of patients with single-structure fixation was 91.8±4.1, with 8 cases were excellent and 2 cases were good. The fractures of patients with dual-structure fixation achieved good union without femoral head necrosis, except 1 case of femoral shaft fracture had delayed union; At the final follow-up, Harris score of patients with dual-structure fixation was 92.4±5.9, 7 cases were excellent, 3 cases were good, and 1 case was fair.@*CONCLUSION@#Good reduction and fixation is the key to the treatment of such fractures. Both the single-structure fixation and the dual-structure fixation are good methods, and it should be selected according to the locations of femoral shaft and femoral neck fractures. Single-structure fixation is a good choice for femoral shaft fractures located at the proximal isthmus and basal femoral neck fractures. For isthmus and distal femoral shaft fractures combined with ipsilateral femoral neck fractures, dual-structure fixation is recommended.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE To investigate the improvement mechanism of caudatin on liver injury of rats. METHODS SD rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group, caudatin low-dose and high-dose groups (25, 50 mg/kg), with 6 rats in each group. Diethylnitrosamine (DEN) was injected intraperitoneally three times per week for eight weeks to establish liver injury model of rats. At 5th week of modeling, the rats received relevant medicine or 0.5% sodium carboxymethylcellulose intragastrically for 4 weeks. The levels of liver function indexes [alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), total protein (TP) and total bilirubin (TBI)] and inflammatory factors [interleukin (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), IL-1β] in serum were detected; the histopathological morphological changes of rat liver were observed; the positive protein expressions of nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) and 78 kDa glucose regulatory protein (Grp78) in liver tissue were also determined; the expressions of endoplasmic reticulum stress-related protein Grp78, C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP), activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) and inositol requiring enzyme 1α (IRE1α) and the level of protein kinase R-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase robertluoyi@126.com (PERK) in liver tissue were detected. RESULTS Compared with blank group, serum levels of ALT, AST, TBI, IL-6, TNF-α and IL-1β and positive expressions of NF-κB and Grp78 in liver tissue as well as protein expressions of Grp78, CHOP, ATF6 and IRE1α, PERK protein phosphorylation level were all increased significantly in model group (P<0.05), while the serum level of TP was decreased significantly (P<0.05). The disordered structure of liver lobule, swollen liver cells, unclear intercellular boundary were observed and accompanied by inflammatory cell infiltration. Compared with model group, most of the above indexes were significantly reversed in caudatin groups (P<0.05); the structure of hepatic lobule was relatively complete and clear, the cells were arranged orderly, and the infiltration of inflammatory cells was also reduced. CONCLUSIONS Caudatin has a significant improvement effect against DEN-induced liver injury in rats, the mechanism of which may be associated with inhibiting endoplasmic reticulum stress and inflammatory reaction.

RESUMO

As solid tumor therapy enters the immunological era, hepatocellular carcinoma immunotherapy starts in advanced second-line, from second-line to first-line, from single agent to combination, and from late stage to early stage. Radiofrequency ablation and microwave ablation have become first-line therapies for local ablation of early hepatocellular carcinoma, and emerging ablation techniques are also being developed in clinical trials and/or cell/animal studies. In the exploration of treatment regimens of hepatocellular carcinoma, the limitation of single therapy has become increasingly obvious, and the exploration of combination therapy has begun. This article reviews the research progress of immunotherapy and ablation therapy in hepatocellular carcinoma, aiming to provide new directions and insights for clinical treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.

RESUMO

Solidification processing is essential to the manufacture of various metal products, including additive manufacturing. Solidification grain boundaries (SGBs) result from the solidification of the last liquid film between two abutting grains of different orientations. They can migrate, but unlike normal GB migration, SGB migration (SGBM) decouples SGBs from solidification microsegregation, further affecting material properties. Here, we first show the salient features of SGBM in magnesium-tin alloys solidified with cooling rates of 8-1690 °C/s. A theoretical model is then developed for SGBM in dilute binary alloys, focusing on the effect of solute type and content, and applied to 10 alloy systems with remarkable agreement. SGMB does not depend on cooling rate or time but relates to grain size. It tends to occur athermally. The findings of this study extend perspectives on solidification grain structure formation and control for improved performance (e.g. hot or liquation cracking during reheating, intergranular corrosion or fracture).

RESUMO

Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics, pathological features and surgical efficacy of adult gangliogliomas. Methods:Seven patients with gangliogliomas underwent surgical treatment in our hospital from August 2010 to December 2021, were chosen; their clinical data were retrospectively analyzed, and the CT and MRI manifestations and histopathological features of gangliogliomas and surgical efficacy of these patients were concluded. Results:In these 7 patients, solid-mass type was identified in 1 patient, cystic-solid mixed type in 4 patients, and diffuse infiltrating type in 2 patients. The solid part showed slightly low or equal density on CT, and mostly showed slightly low signal on T1, slightly high signal on T2, high or slightly high signal on T2 FLAIR, and equisignal or slightly low signal on DWI of MRI. Immunohistochemical staining showed that in the tumor specimens, glial cell components were positive for glial fibrillary acidic protein, oligodendrocyte transcription factor and S-100 protein, and ganglion cell components were positive for neuronal nuclear antigen and synaptophysin. Gross total resection was achieved in 5 patients, subtotal resection in 1 patient, and partial resection in 1 patient; gangliogliomas without total resection were diffuse infiltrative type. The median Karnofsky performance status scores were 80. There was no death during the follow-up period of 7 months-11 years. Conclusions:Adult gangliogliomas are mostly cystic and solid lesions with clear boundary on imaging, and the histopathological characteristics of mixed neoplastic ganglion cells and glial cells are the main basis for their diagnosis. The surgical efficacy is usually good, but the diffuse infiltrating type is difficult to achieve total resection.
