RESUMO

Teak is a precious hardwood species in tropical and subtropical regions with a long growth cycle and slow economic returns. Intercropping medicinal plants is an effective method for obtaining early returns during the growth period of teak. However, currently, we lack sufficient knowledge about the impact of intercropping on the soil microenvironment, especially on rhizosphere soil bacterial communities. We selected two medicinal plants Alpinia katsumadai Hayata and Amomum longiligulare T.L. Wu, for an intercropping experiment with teak, and the non-intercropping teak forest area was used for comparison. By collecting soil rhizosphere samples and conducting 16S rDNA sequencing and property analysis, we aimed to investigate the influence of teak intercropping on soil microbial communities. The results showed that intercropping significantly improved soil nutrients contents, such as soil organic matter, soil total potassium and soil available nitrogen, and significantly altered bacterial community structure. Co-occurrence network analysis revealed that intercropping tightened the connections of the soil bacterial network and increased its complexity (by increasing the number of nodes and the proportion of positive edges). Teak intercropping with Amomum longiligulare T.L. Wu resulted in tighter network connections than teak intercropping with A. katsumadai Hayata. Changes in the soil bacterial community structure may related to environmental factors such as total potassium content and pH. These results demonstrated that the introduction of medicinal plants exerts a significant impact on the soil bacterial community of teak, fostering the enrichment of specific bacterial taxa (such as Firmicutes and Methylomirabilota), and makes the rhizosphere bacterial network denser and more complex. This study provides valuable insights for the management of teak plantations.

RESUMO

【Objective:】 To understand the current status of narrative nursing knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) among nurses in grade A tertiary hospitals, and to provide a basis for the development of narrative nursing in relevant areas. 【Methods:】 Using convenience sampling methods, 931 nurses from three grade A tertiary hospitals in Xi’an were selected as subjects. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using the Clinical Nurses’ Narrative Nursing Knowledge and Trustworthiness Questionnaire and the General Self-Efficacy Scale. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of nurses’ narrative nursing KAP. 【Results:】 The scores on the three dimensions of narrative nursing KAP were (23.70±2.99) points, (31.69±5.92) points, and (30.26±5.32) points, respectively. Nursing workload, general self-efficacy, professional title, and nursing satisfaction were the influencing factors of nurses’ narrative nursing knowledge dimension (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in nurses’ narrative nursing attitude dimension among nursing workload, general self-efficacy, professional title, monthly income, and nursing satisfaction (P<0.05). Nursing workload, general self-efficacy, nursing satisfaction, and accompanying experience were the influencing factors of nurses’ narrative nursing behavior dimension (P<0.05). 【Conclusion:】 Nurses in grade A tertiary hospitals have moderate narrative nursing knowledge, positive attitudes, and poor practice execution. The high nursing workload is the main barrier factor for the current development of narrative nursing. Nursing managers should actively build a diversified training system and guarantee system to boost the development of narrative nursing in clinical nursing work, and further promote the development of narrative nursing concepts.

RESUMO

There has been growing interest in transparent conductive substrates due to the prevailing flexible electron devices and the need for sustainable resources. In this study, we demonstrated a transparent fast-growing poplar veneers prepared by acetylated modification, followed by the infiltration of epoxy resin. The work mainly focused on the effect of acetylation treatment using a green catalyst of 4-Dimethylpyridine on the interface of the bulk fast-growing poplar veneer, and the result indicated that the interface hydrophobicity was greatly enhanced due to the higher substitute of acetyl groups; therefore, the interface compatibility between the cell wall and epoxy resin was improved. The obtained transparent fast-growing poplar veneers, hereafter referred to as TADPV, displayed a superior optical performance and flexibility, in which the light transmittance and haze were 90% and 70% at a wavelength of 550 nm, respectively, and the bending radius and bending angle parallel to grain of TADPV were 2 mm and 130°, respectively. Moreover, the tensile strength and tensile modulus of the TADPV were around 102 MPa and 198 MPa, respectively, which is significantly better than those of the plastic substrates used in flexible electron devices. At the same time, the thermal conductivity tests indicated that TADPV has a low coefficient of thermal conductivity of 0.34 Wm-1 K-1, which can completely meet the needs of transparent conductive substrates. Therefore, the obtained TADPV can be used as a candidate for a flexible transparent substrate of electron devices.

RESUMO

Objective: To review the systematic reviews of acupuncture for diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) and to provide evidence for clinical decisions. Methods: Published systematic reviews targeting acupuncture treatment of DPN were searched using computer through both Chinese and English databases till July 1, 2019. Two researchers screened the papers based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and conducted report quality evaluation, methodological quality assessment and evidence quality grading using the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA), assessment of multiple systematic review 2 (AMSTAR 2) and grading of recommendations assessment, development and evaluation (GRADE). Results: Ten systematic reviews were included, involving 11 outcome measures. According to PRISMA, 6 items were sufficiently reported while 1 item was not; AMSTAR 2 appraised that all the included systematic reviews were of low quality in the methodological evaluation; according to GRADE, of the 30 clinical evidences, only 5 were graded moderate while the remained were graded low or extremely low. Descriptive analysis showed that acupuncture can significantly improve DPN symptoms, accelerate the conduction velocities of sensory and motor nerves, and up-regulate the content of plasma nitric oxide (NO), while the adverse reaction rate was low. Conclusion: Acupuncture can produce satisfactory clinical efficacy in treating DPN, but the existing problems, such as low-quality evidence, unitary outcome measures, poor methodological quality of systematic reviews and nonstandard reporting, need to be treated cautiously; meanwhile, more high-quality clinical trials are required to elevate the level of evidence.

RESUMO

AIM: To investigate the protective effect of ferulic acid on palmitic acid-induced lipotoxicity in HepG2 cells and to explore its potential molecular mechanisms. METHODS: HepG2 cells were induced by palmitic acid to establish a lipotoxicity model, while ferulic acid was added prior to palmitic acid treatment. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was used to detect cell damage. Methyl azozole trace enzyme reaction is used for 3-(4, 5)-dimethylthiahiazo (-z-y1)-3, 5-di-phenytetrazoliumromide (MTT) was employed to detect cell viability. The molecular mechanisms of the protective effect of ferulic acid was analyzed by Western Blotting. RESULTS: There was no cytotoxic effect of different concentrations of ferulic acid (25, 50, 100, 200 μmol/L) treatment on HepG2 cells (P>0.05). Ferulic acid intervention significantly inhibited palmitic acid-induced cell death and improved palmitic acid-induced reduction of cell mitochondrial membrane potential (P<0.05). The activation of p38 significantly enhanced palmitic acid-induced hepatocellular lipotoxicity (P<0.05), while inhibition of p38 significantly improved palmitic acid-induced cell damage (P<0.05). In addition, ferulic acid significantly inhibited the upregulation of p38 phosphorylation by palmitic acid treatment (P<0.05). p38 activator exposure blocked the protective effect of ferulic acid on lipotoxicity (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Ferulic acid effectively improves hepatocellular injury induced by lipotoxicity. The inhibition of p38 signaling pathway is potentially involved in its protective effect. Ferulic acid may be an effective factor in the prevention and treatment of liver disease with lipotoxicity as a major pathological characteristic.

RESUMO

In this work, poplar veneer (PV) rotary-cut from fast-growing polar was delignified to prepare flexible transparent poplar veneer (TPV). Lignin was gradually removed from the PV and then epoxy resin filled into the delignified PV. The study mainly concerns the effect of lignin content on microstructure, light transmittance, haze, tensile strength, and thermal stability of the PVs impregnated with epoxy resin. The results indicate that the lignin could be removed completely from the PV when the delignification time was around 8 h, which was proved by FTIR spectra and chemical component detection. Moreover, according to SEM observation and XRD testing, the porosity and crystallinity of the PVs were gradually increased with the removal of lignin. Also, the optical properties measurement indicated that the light transmittance and haze of the TPVs gradually increased, and the thermal stability also became more stable as shown by thermogravimetric analysis (TG). However, the tensile strength of the TPVs declined due to the removal of lignin. Among them, TPV8 exhibited excellent optical properties, thermal stability, and tensile strength. Consequently, it has great potential to be used as a substrate in photovoltaics, solar cells, smart windows, etc.

RESUMO

With the rapid development of portable and wearable electronic devices, self-supporting flexible supercapacitors have attracted much attention, and higher requirements have been put forward for the electrode of the device, that is, it is necessary to have good mechanical properties while satisfying excellent electrochemical performance. In this work, a facile method was invented to obtain excellent self-supported flexible electrode materials with high mechanical properties and outstanding electrochemical performance by combining cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) and reduced graphene oxide (RGO). We focused on the effect of the ratio of the addition of CNFs and the formation process of the film on the electrochemical and mechanical properties. The results show that the CNFs/RGO12 (where the ratio of CNFs to GO is 1:2) film displayed outstanding comprehensive properties; its tensile strength and conductivity were up to 83 MPa and 202.94 S/m, respectively, and its CA value was as high as 146 mF cm-2 under the current density of 5 mA cm-2. Furthermore, the initial retention rate of the specific capacitance was about 83.7% when recycled 2000 times; moreover, its capacitance did not change much after perpendicular bending 200 times. Therefore, the films prepared by this study have great potential in the field of flexible supercapacitors.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate and analyze the relationship between intraoperative graft flow measurements and the early mid-term outcomes after off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB).@*METHODS@#Patients who underwent isolated OPCAB in the Department of Cardiac Surgery of Peking University People's Hospital from January 2013 to June 2016 were included. Perioperative characteristics, graft flow measurements and postoperative follow-up outcomes were retrospectively collected. Comparison was made between flow measurements of grafts and the early mid-term outcomes. Flow measurements of grafts included the mean flow (MF) and the pulsatility index (PI). The early outcomes included peri-operative myocardial infarction (PMI), use of an intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), reoperation for all causes, new-onset atrial fibrillation and in-hospital or 30-day mortality.@*RESULTS@#A total of 463 patients were included in the study. Mean age was (62.80±8.36) years, and 24.8% were females. The total number of grafts was 1 435, which averaged 3.10 grafts per patient. The MF and PI were separately (32.34±14.45) mL/min and 2.87±0.92. Of all the patients, 23(5%) had PMI, and 11 used IABP. Observed in-hospital or 30-day mortality was 0.86% (4 patients). Compared with non-PMI group, the MF was lower and the PI was higher in the PMI group (P<0.05). However, the differences of other early outcomes had no statistical significance between the PMI group and the non-PMI group. The lower MF (Wald=5.684, P=0.017, 95%CI: 0.894-0.989) and the higher PI (Wald=9.040, P=0.003, 95%CI: 1.252-2.903) were risk factors of PMI in multivariable Logistic regression modeling. The longest follow-up time was 37 months, and 7 patients died. The differences of graft flow measurements between the surviving group and the nonsurvivors had no statistical significance, but overall mid-term survival was lower in patients with poor left internal mammary artery (LIMA) to left anterior descending artery (LAD) graft flow (MF<10 mL/min; OR=9.6, P<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#Intraoperative graft flow parameters during OPCAB can predict the early mid-term outcomes. The lower MF and the higher PI should increase the rate of PMI. A lower flow of LIMA to LAD graft (<10 mL/min) should increase the rate of midterm mortality, but further research will be needed to confirm and explore the findings.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the influencing factors of readmission in coronary heart disease patients with heart failure by constructing a multilevel Cox regression model. Methods A total of 1 433 coronary heart disease patients with heart failure were consecutively enrolled, from two hospitals in Shanxi Province from January, 2014 to December, 2017. Patients’ medical records (including baseline data, examination and treatment) were recorded and patients were followed up. The median follow-up period was 23 months. Univariate Cox regression analysis and mutivariate Cox regression analysis were used to screen the independent variables. Two-level Cox regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results Rehospitalization occurred in 436(30.4%) cases. Two-level Cox regression model showed that advanced age(HR=1.010, 95% CI:1.001-1.019, P=0.032), male(HR=1.234, 95% CI: 1.009-1.509, P=0.040), physical labor(HR=1.458, 95% CI: 1.036-2.050, P=0.030),urban medical insurance (HR=1.513, 95% CI: 1.120-2.043, P=0.007), and prolonged QRS interval (HR=1.004, 95% CI:1.001-1.008, P=0.018) were independent risk factors for readmission coronary heart disease patients with heart failure. High urine specific gravity(HR=0.000, 95% CI:0.000-0.059, P=0.021) was a protective factor. Conclusions The age, gender, occupation, urban medical insurance, QRS intervall, and urine specific gravity are influencing factors of readmission in coronary heart disease patients with heart failure. Strengthening clinical nursing and monitoring and perfecting social security system can reduce the occurrence of patients’ rehospitalization.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To explore the effect of local infiltration of ropivacaine combined with multimodal analgesia with parecoxib for perioperative pain management in patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy.@*METHODS@#This randomized controlled trial was conducted among 98 patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy in the Department of Biliary Surgery of West China Hospital between March, 2017 and August, 2018. The patients were randomized to receive perioperative analgesia with local infiltration anesthesia with ropivacaine combined with multimodal analgesia with parecoxib (experimental group, =50) or postoperative analgesia with dizosin (control group, =48). The regimens for intraoperative anesthesia and postoperative pain relief were identical in the two groups. The differences in NRS pain score, use of pain relief agents, the incidences of adverse reactions to analgesia and wound infection, and the time to first ambulation and first flatus passage after the operation were compared between the two groups.@*RESULTS@#At 12, 24 h, 48 h, 72 h and 7 days after the operation, the patients in the experimental group had significantly lower NRS scores ( < 0.05) than those in the control group. The rate of use of rescue analgesics was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group (32% 66.67%, < 0.05); the rate of tramadol hydrochloride use was also significantly lower in the experimental group ( < 0.05). Compared with those in the control group, the patients in the experimental group showed a significantly lower total incidence of adverse reactions (22% 54.17%, < 0.05) as well as a lower incidence of nausea and vomiting ( < 0.05), an earlier time of first ambulation and first flatus passage after the operation ( < 0.05), and a shorter postoperative hospital stay ( < 0.05).@*CONCLUSIONS@#In patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy, local infiltration of ropivacaine combined with multimodal analgesia with ropivacaine can effectively relieve perioperative pain, reduce the use of relief analgesics, lower the incidence of adverse reactions, and promote the recovery after the surgery.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To evaluate the effects of Xiaojin Pill () in the treatment of Peyronie's disease (PD) in a rat model.@*METHODS@#Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups with 6 in each: sham operation, PD model, vehicle control and Xiaojin Pill groups. The rats in the sham operation group received penile tunica albsginea (TA) injection with 50 μL vehicle, while the rats in the other 3 groups received 50 μL penile TA injection of 50 μg transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1. Forty-two days after the injection, rats in the vehicle control and Xiaojin Pill groups received 0.5 mL water and Xiaojin Pill solution (107 mg/kg of body weight), respectively by gavage for 28 days, while those in the sham operation and PD model groups did not receive any intervention. After intervention, the expressions of matrix metalloproteinase 2/9 (MMP2/9), nitric oxidesynthase (NOS), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) were measured.@*RESULTS@#Rats in the PD model and vehicle control groups presented obvious fibrosis in corpus cavernosum (CC) and demonstrated a significantly increased expressions of MMP2 and MMP9 in the CC compared with the sham operation group (all P<0.01). In contrast, the expressions of MMP2 and MMP9 in the Xiaojin Pill group were significantly down-regulated (both P<0.01). In addition, the levels of NOS and MDA in CC were significantly increased while the activity of SOD was decreased in the PD model and vehicle control groups compared with the sham operation group (all P<0.01). After Xiaojin Pill treatment, the levels of MDA, NOS and SOD appeared to be corrected (all P<0.01).@*CONCLUSIONS@#Xiaojin Pill could reduce fibrosis in the CC by decreasing the expressions of MMPs, NOS and MDA, and by increasing the activity of SOD. Therefore, Xiaojin Pill might be a therapeutic option for PD.

RESUMO

ObjectiveTo observe the intervention effect of Qiaoshao Prescription (QSP) on premature ejaculation (PE) induced by 8-OH-DPAT in male rats and explore its possible action mechanism.

METHODSSeventy-two male Wistar rats were equally randomized into six groups, blank control, PE model control, low-, medium- and high-dose QSP, and dapoxetine. The PE model was established by injection of 8-OH-DPAT into the subarachnoid space of the lumbosacral spinal cord. Four weeks after modeling, the rats in the blank control and PE model control groups with gavaged with normal saline at 10 ml/kg/d, those in the low-, medium- and high-dose QSP groups with QSP at 5, 10 and 20 g/kg/d respectively once a day, and those in the dapoxetine group with dapoxetine hydrochloride at 300 mg/kg at 3 hours before mating. Forty-five female Wistar rats were injected subcutaneously with 20 μg estradiol benzoate after removal of bilateral ovaries to induce estrous estrus. Two and 4 weeks later, the male rats were mated with the female ones for 30 minutes per time and meanwhile observed for the mating behavior of the males, including mounting latency (ML), intromission latency (IL), ejaculation latency (EL), mounting frequency (MF), intromission frequency (IF), and ejaculation frequency (EF). After the 4th week of mating, the hypothalamus of the animals was isolated and weighed, and the content of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) was measured.

RESULTSCompared with the blank control group, the PE model controls showed significantly decreased content of 5-HT in the hypothalamus(1 257.1 vs 923.4 ng/g, P<0.05), ML ([11.22 ± 3.60] vs [8.69 ± 2.48] s, P<0.05), IL ([22.33 ± 2.45] vs [12.08±1.39] s, P<0.05), MF ([13.28 ± 3.24] vs [7.53 ± 1.84] times, P<0.05), and EL ([712.35 ± 36.77] vs [502.35 ± 46.72] s, P<0.05). In comparison with the PE model controls, the rats of the QSP and dapoxetine groups exhibited remarkably increased content of 5-HT (P<0.05) and prolonged EL (P<0.05).

CONCLUSIONSQiaoshao Prescription can prolong EL in PE rats, which might be associated with the increased content of 5-HT in the hypothalamus. Further studies, however, are needed on its underlying mechanisms.

RESUMO

Objective@#To explore the feasibility and practicability of establishing a rat model of premature ejaculation (PE) by injection of 8-OH-DPAT into the subarachnoid space of the lumbosacral spinal cord segments.@*METHODS@#Twenty-four male Wistar rats were equally randomized into a PE model and a blank control group. The PE model was established by injection of 8-OH-DPAT in 10 ml normal saline at 0.8 mg per kg of the body weight per day into the subarachnoid space of the lumbosacral spinal cord segments and the control rats were injected with the same volume of normal saline only, both for 4 weeks. Another 24 female Wistar rats were injected subcutaneously with benzoic acid estradiol at 20 μg to induce estrus at 36 hours before mated with the male animals. At 2 and 4 weeks, the male rats were mated with the female ones for 30 minutes each time and meanwhile observed for their mating behavior indicators, such as mount latency, intromission latency, ejaculation latency, mount frequency, intromission frequency, and ejaculation frequency.@*RESULTS@#Compared with the controls, the PE model rats showed a significantly lower ejaculation latency ([712.35 ± 36.77] vs [502.35 ± 46.72] s, P0.05).@*CONCLUSIONS@#A rat model of premature ejaculation was successfully established by injection of 8-OH-DPAT into the subarachnoid space of the lumbosacral spinal cord segments, which is of great significance for further study of the mechanism of premature ejaculation.
