Los pacientes afectos de dolor crónico, portadores de sistemas de liberación de fármacos intratecales, actualmente plantean un desafío de manejo, cuando por razones perioperatorias, nos vemos obligados a interrumpir de forma brusca la administración de dichos fármacos, como el caso clínico que exponemos. en el mismo se aborda la problemática de contrarrestar los efectos de la deprivación de morfina a altas dosis intratecales en un paciente sometido a retirada del sistema intratecal, con una propuesta de manejo y los resultados clínicos observados (AU)

To put into practice a working method which allows nursing personnel to apply Nursing Attention Procedures by means of a computerized system requires: the elaboration of a data sheet which identifies problems at the moment a patient is admitted; the establishment of plans for adequate care according to those problems identified; provide both of these with a computerized support system which enables their integration into a computerized clinical file. The evaluation of patients by means of questionnaires and the review of clinical files permits one to conclude: that nursing treatments follow a protocol and are individualized; that this makes it easier to record problems, both real or potential which a patient has, as well as the treatment which nurses apply daily; that this makes it possible to collect data which the computerized treatment system makes available for future analysis; that permits one to calculate the costs of nursing functions in posterior treatment phases; and that introduces a working system which is a motivating element for the personnel of a unit.

[Unique incision vasectomy: review of 1,800 cases]. / Vasectomía por única incisión: revisión de 1.800 casos.

We reviewed 1,800 vasectomy procedures using the double lateral scrotal incision and single incision of the raphe that had been performed at the Family Planning Center. The number of complications were minimal for both techniques: 6.5% for the patients submitted to the double incision and 5.5% for those submitted to the single incision procedure. The advantages of the single incision procedure are: it is easy to perform, less anesthesia is required, there are less complications, and the operating time is reduced.
