RESUMO

AIM: The COVID-19 pandemic has affected countries on all continents where containment and isolation measures have been systematically applied. This review aims to synthesize the available evidence on the management of home isolation due to COVID-19 infection. METHOD: A scoping review has been carried out using the Trip Database, PUBMED, CINAHL, COCHRANE and Scopus controlled language without any limits. From all the documents located, information was extracted on the date of publication, country of publication, type of study, assessment of the level of evidence and degree of recommendation, and results of interest to answer the research question. Critical reading of the selected documents has been carried out, but without using it as an exclusion criterion but rather informative. RESULTS: 163 records were located and 14 were selected. The recommendations have been grouped into 10 topics around all the daily management of home care. CONCLUSIONS: The scarcity of robust evidence on isolation from COVID-19 infection is objective. Most of the documents are reviews carried out after the consensus of experts at the international level.

The first hour postpartum is critical for long-term, healthy development. At 12 de Octubre Hospital, Madrid, Spain, we developed and implemented a multidisciplinary strategy based on a consensual, participatory protocol for all health care professionals involved in cesarean deliveries. Our aims were 2-fold: the initiation of skin-to-skin (StS) contact with the newborn immediately after birth, regardless of the feeding method chosen, and the recognition of the importance of a companion present for support during the cesarean section (father or other designated by the mother). The objective of this article is to describe a policy developed to ensure timely postcesarean StS contact. Our protocol for neonatal StS contact with the mother is based on reported benefits found in literature, the World Health Organization's international recommendations, and deep respect for a process that is both natural and instinctive. We call it "humanizing the cesarean."

Since nursing became an university degree in 1977, there have been several regulations to develop specialties, all of them agreeing on the need to include skills in research. Indeed, the relevance of acquiring these skills in all current disciplines has led to Royal Decree 99/2011, which regulates the official PhD courses, and recognises specialist nurses as qualified to access PhD studies. Nowadays, students from six of the seven specialties included in the Royal Decree 450/2005 on nursing specialties, are performing their training. The acquisition of research skills is seen as an opportunity and a challenge. However, the organizational structure of training facilities (multiprofessional teaching units) and the incorporation of nurses as clinical tutors, who initiated this teaching activity, deserve special attention to ensure the correct acquisition of research skills in the training of specialist nurses (AU)
