Objetivo: descrever o conhecimento, a atitude e a prática de vacinadores sobre a vacinação infantil. Métodos: estudo descritivo, censitário, realizado em 2015, com vacinadores das salas de vacina da zona urbana de Teresina, Piauí, Brasil; os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionário. Resultados: foram entrevistados 70 vacinadores; a maioria das respostas relacionadas ao conhecimento e a atitude referentes à vacinação infantil foram inadequadas (n=58 e n=39, respectivamente), ao contrário da prática, que apresentou 43 respostas adequadas; não houve associação estatisticamente significativa entre a variável do conhecimento e as variáveis relacionadas à atitude e à prática. Conclusão: observou-se predominância de respostas inadequadas quanto ao conhecimento e atitude, e adequadas quanto à prática.
Objective: to describe the knowledge, attitude and practice of vaccinators toward childhood vaccination. Conclusion: a high number of inadequate answers related to knowledge and attitude and of adequate answers concerning practice were observed.
Objetivo: describir los conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas de los vacunadores en la vacunación infantil. Métodos: estudio descriptivo, censitario, realizado entre enero y marzo 2015, con vacunadores de la zona urbana de Teresina, Piauí, Brasil; los datos fueron recolectados a través de cuestionario. Resultados: fueron entrevistados 70 vacunadores, la mayoría de las respuestas relacionadas con el conocimiento y actitud con respecto a la vacunación infantil eran inadecuadas (n=58 y n=39, respectivamente) al contrario que en la práctica, que presentó 43 respuestas adecuadas; no hubo asociación estadísticamente significativa entre variables de conocimiento y variables sobre actitudes prácticas. Conclusión: se observó una predominancia de respuestas inadecuadas sobre conocimientos y actitudes, pero adecuadas sobre la práctica.
