RESUMO

The spectrum of daily urine C21-corticosteroids was examined in 50 patients by thin-layer chromatography on silica gel. There were 28 men and 22 women aged 16--50 years with a disease standing from 1 to 26 years. Twenty-two healthy persons of the same age formed the control group. Appropriate indices were calculated to have a deeper insight into adrenocortical function. The dependence of gluco- and promineralocorticoid activity and of corticosteroid biosynthesis and metabolism on the disease course and acuity was revealed. The data obtained made it possible to elaborate the most rational treatment tactics in patients with disseminated sclerosis and to define the opportunities of glucocorticoid use taking into consideration the adrenocortical response to the pathological process.

RESUMO

Immunological blood indices, neutral lipid fractions, level of daily urine C21-corticosteroid excretion, free amino acid spectrum of the blood were studied in 72 patients with disseminated sclerosis. The EEG, EMG and REG data were analyzed. Healthy persons of the same age formed the control group. The data obtained may favour more differentiated treatment (in particular, the use of immunodepressants or immunostimulants) according to the disease pattern and stage. The study is important for early diagnosis and estimation of the process acuity and drug efficacy.

RESUMO

The clinical development, changes of the rheological blood properties and lipid metabolism were analysed in 70 patients with acute and subacute hemorrhagical infarctions into the hemispheres. Two clinical types in the development of hemorrhagical brain infarctions are described. The rheological blood properties and lipid metabolism had certain differences in comparison to patients with hemispheric hemorrhagical and ischemic strokes. They were also changed depending upon the age and duration of the illness. The pathogenesis of the changes detected is substantiated and their significance for microhemocirculation in patients with hemorrhagical brain infarctions is discussed.
