RESUMO

STUDY OBJECTIVE: To study the effectiveness of complex monitoring of the kidney function, based on biochemical and radionuclide methods in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). MATERIALS AND METHODS: 41 mRCC patients after nephrectomy received nivolumab (n = 23) and interferon-α (n = 18) from 2015 to 2017. At baseline and 2 months after, all patients underwent blood chemistry, urinalysis, Rehberg test, and ELISA to determine serum levels of IL-17A, TGF-ß, and erythropoietin. The monitoring of the renal function and urodynamics by complex renal scintigraphy (CRS) was used for all patients using a dual-detector gamma camera and simultaneous data recording in 2 projections. The interpretation of CRS data used the original SENS CRS technology. STUDY RESULTS: Statistically significant correlations were established between IL-17A, TGF-ß, and D (excretion rate of 99mTc-technephore from the parenchyma) and Rnfsc (a stable sign of nephrosclerosis), respectively. A significant correlation was established between the parameters of the complex functional monitoring with the prognosis for the risk of renal failure (RF) and efficacy of immunotherapy in mRCC. CONCLUSIONS: All mRCC patients after nephrectomy were recommended to undergo biochemical monitoring with inclusion of TGF-ß and IL-17A, as well as radionuclide monitoring (CRS) to determine the RF risk at an early stage.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The purpose of the study to evaluate possibilities of CT-perfusion and PET methods with 18F-FDG and 18F-fluorocholine in the complex diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma. The study included the results of PET/CT with 18F-FDG, 18F-FCh and CT-perfusion of the liver in 18 patients with histologically confirmed diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Depending on the degree of tumor differentiation, all patients were divided into 3 groups - patients with highly differentiated (6 patients), moderately differentiated (4 patients), and low-differentiated HCC (8 patients). RESULTS: Average values of maxSUV in the group of patients with highly differentiated HCC in PET/CT with 18F-FDG and 18F- fluorocholine in a solid component of tumor reached 3.51 and 18.24, respectively; in patients with moderately differentiated HCC - 3.91 and 12.32, respectively; in patients with low-differentiated HCC - 9.58 and 9.70, respectively. Average values of CT perfusion imaging in a solid component of the tumor in the group of patients with highly differentiated HCC were the following: BF - 55,33 ml/100 ml/min, BV - 13,71 ml/100 ml, ALP - 52,41 ml/100 ml/min, PVP - 10.81 ml/100 ml/min (p ≤ 0,05), in the group of patients with moderately differentiated HCC: BF - 52,78 ml/100 m /min, BV - 12,23 ml/100 ml, ALP - 47,26 ml/100 ml/min, PVP - 9,10 ml/100 ml/min (p ≤ 0.05), in the solid component of low-differentiated HCC: BF - 46,96 ml/100 ml/min, BV - 9,49 ml/100 ml, ALP - 40.54 ml/100 ml/min, PVP - 7,66 ml/100 ml/min (p ≤ 0,05). CONCLUSIONS: The diagnostic capabilities of the complex of PET/CT techniques with 18F-FDG and 18F-FCh and CT perfusion in a single-scan mode for hepatocellular carcinoma were evaluated for the first time. The obtained data allow to assume that the integrated use of PET with 18F-FDG and 18F-FCh and CT perfusion in a single scan improves the differential diagnostic possibilities of PET/CT diagnostics, which can find application in planning and prognosis of the disease. Due to the small number of patients further study of the problem is required.

RESUMO

The aim of this study was to demonstrate the diagnostic ca- pabilities to control effects of radiotherapy treatment in patient with osteosarcoma bone metastases by SPECT-CT method. There was conducted SPECT/CT treatment monitoring of the patient with bone metastases of osteosarcoma after external radiotherapy and cyber knife. There were detected changes in the SPECT/CT-pictures of treated bones osteosarcoma metasta- ses. The SPECT/CT has proven as a reliable method of dynam- ic control at radiotherapy. Treatment effect all of these methods was to reduce or to get absent accumulation of bone-tropic radiopharmaceutical labeled with 99mTc-technetium. SPECT/ CT study was a demonstrative method for early determination of pathological metabolism degree in bone metastases of os- teosarcoma. SPECT/CT was an effective method of treatment monitoring of bone metastases after radiotherapy.

RESUMO

Spin dynamics in the intermediate ordered phases (between 4 and 9 K) in Ni3V2O8 have been studied with inelastic neutron scattering. It is found that the spin waves are very diffuse, indicative of short lived correlations and the coexistence of paramagnetic moments with the long-range ordered state.

RESUMO

The phase transition in CuCrO2 to an ordered magnetic state is studied with bulk measurements and elastic and inelastic neutron scattering techniques. The reported onset of spontaneous electric polarization at T = 23.5 K coincides with the appearance, on cooling, of elastic magnetic scattering. At higher temperatures long range magnetic correlations gradually develop but they are dynamic. The ground state is characterized by three-dimensional long range magnetic ordering but along the c direction the correlation length remains limited to ∼200 Å.

RESUMO

This paper presents results of a recent study of multiferroic CuCrO(2) by means of single crystal neutron diffraction. This system has two close magnetic phase transitions at T(N) = 24.2 K and T(mf) = 23.6 K. The low temperature magnetic structure below T(mf) is unambiguously determined to be a fully three-dimensional proper screw. Between T(N) and T(mf) antiferromagnetic order is found that is essentially two-dimensional. In this narrow temperature range, magnetic near neighbor correlations are still long range in the (H,K) plane, whereas nearest neighbors along the L direction are uncorrelated. Thus, the multiferroic state is realized only in the low temperature three-dimensional state and not in the two-dimensional state.

RESUMO

Chemotherapy is an important method of antitumor therapy. Nephrotoxicity characteristic of many cytostatics, including platinum compounds, is a serious complication limiting the drug dose [4,5,7-9]. Platinum derivatives, in particular, cisplatin, are drugs of choice in the treatment of the majority of solid tumors. However, cisplatin induces a dose-dependent toxic damage to the kidneys [5,7,8,10].
