[Hygienic assessment of physical and psychophysiologic development of children residing in the area of emissions of Orenburg gas-producing plants]. / Gigienicheskaia otsenka fizicheskogo i psikhofiziologicheskogo razvitiia detei, prozhivaiushchikh v zone vybrosov Orenburgskogo gazopromyslovogo upravleniia.

The children and adolescents residing in rural settlements located in the vicinity of sites of industrial extraction and processing of hydrogen sulphide-containing gas were studied. The drinking water and ambient air in these settlements were shown to be polluted. Low indices of the children's mental, physiological, and physical development were revealed.

Dynamics of the self-starting generation of a phase-conjugate seminlinear mirror.

It is demonstrated that the self-starting generation for a phase-conjugate semilinear mirror is preceded by the silent zone, which is necessary for preparing a phase-conjugate generation structure in a multimode nonlinear resonator. The threshold for self-starting and the response delay are calculated. The experiment with a strontium barium niobate crystal demonstrates the reasonable quantitative agreement with the theory.

Onset dynamics of self-pumped phase conjugation from speckled noise.

By accounting for both the speckle nature of the coherent noise and the depletion of the pump beam in a semilinear oscillator, we show that the buildup of phase conjugation from the noise level is characterized by a buildup time. The dependence of the buildup time on the noise level is in good agreement with experimental results.

Generation in the double-conjugation scheme for a medium with a local transient response.

It is shown that the minimum threshold in the double-conjugation scheme for a medium with a local transient response takes place for the generated waves with angular tilting.

Reflection-grating photorefractive self-pumped ring mirror.

A reflection-grating self-pumped passive ring mirror is experimentally fabricated in a photorefractive KNbO(3) crystal. The observed values of nonlinear reflectivity are as much as 50%, and the response time of the mirror is several milliseconds.

Recording and reconstruction of an object's wave state of polarization by a volume hologram.

The mode theory of transmission volume holograms is developed, taking into account the vector character of the electromagnetic field. In scalar recording media, eigenmodes are twice degenerated with reference to the state of polarization of the reconstructing field. Using this theory, the transformation laws of wave, with arbitrary spatially nonuniform field distribution and the state of polarization by a volume hologram are found. Two construction methods are detailed: (1) the reference beam has a wide angular spectrum, (2) the reference beam consists of two plane orthogonally polarized waves. In both cases the magnitudes of diffraction efficiency and polarization noise are calculated. Expressions obtained permit optimization of construction and reconstruction for both cases. In particular, we found the conditions on the reference beam for full reconstruction of the object field, including the whole structure of polarization.
