RESUMO

AIM: To estimate the importance of new algorithm introducing of PDP diagnostics in practice of NEFU medical institute Clinic in detection of severity level and predicting of clinical course. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 50 people with sensory-motor PDP form among patients with 2 type diabetes were examined on the basis of Clinic of NEFU medical institute. Patients have been divided into 2 groups by disease duration: the first groups were patients with duration of disease till 10 years, the second group--more than 10 years. Diagnostics methods: clinical neurologic, neurophysiological. RESULTS: Patients underwent polymodal sensitivity analysis, computer pallesteziometry, stabilometry, electroneuromyography. The dependence of clinical neurophysiological PDP parametres from severity of the duration of type 2 diabetes has been revealed. CONCLUSION: Thus, dependence of clinical-neurophysiological parametres of PDP severity from the duration of 2 type diabetes has been revealed. The new algorithm raised efficacy of clinical-neurophysiological PDP diagnostics and helped the predicting of the clinical course.

RESUMO

Dystrophic myotonia is a widespread hereditary disease. Pathological process touches development and functioning of various organs and tissues: smooth and skeletal muscular tissue, the heart, organ of vision, brain. Pathology of the heart serves as one of frequent manyfestations of dystrophic myotonia. Degenerative changes and fatty infiltration of myocardium not infrequently leads to dilated cardiomyopathy. Involvement of the heart in such patients is represented mainly by disturbance of cardiac rhythm and conduction. Course of the disease is progressive.

RESUMO

The study was undertaken to examine visual pathway function by psycho- and electrophysiological studies in patients with type 1 diabetes. Sixty-three patients (age 25±2.3 years) with moderate type 1 diabetes in a subcompensated state (mean HbA1c 7.4±0.2%), including 32 patients without diabetic retinopathy (DR) and 31 patients with nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy were examined. A control group consisted of 30 healthy individuals. The complex of diagnosis included critical flicker frequency test, retinal light and contrast sensitivity threshold tests, electroretmography (ERG), and studies of optic nerve lability and visual evoked potentials (VEP). A comprehensive study established functional visual pathway abnormalities that were undetectable on routine ophthalmologlcal examination. Lower ERG "a" wave amplitudes, higher latency, and reductions in the amplitude of VEP P100 peak and in spatial contrast sensitivity for low frequencies were of the greatest value in the diagnosis of diabetic abnormalities of the visual pathway. Visual pathway lesions are detectable in patients with type 1 diabetes without DR. In the latter, these lesions are more pronounced.

RESUMO

24 patients with neurosensory hypoacusis of vascular genesis related to chronic cerebral vascular deficiency in the vertebrobasillar bed combined with cervical osteochondrosis were given basobral. The drug produced positive changes in neurological symptoms, lowered hearing thresholds in the range of high frequencies, improved cerebral hemodynamics and hearing afferentation at the stem level of the acoustic analyzer.
