BACKGROUND: China's sports tourism has seen significant growth since the 2008 Olympics, only to be challenged by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. This study aims to assess the impact of the pandemic on China's tourism and sports tourism, which are highly interrelated. METHOD: Data and materials from 2019 to mid-2023 were systematically collected and analyzed, focusing on seasonal tourism reports published on official local networks in China. RESULTS: The study reveals a prepandemic annual tourism consumption of 6.63 trillion CNY, a 52.1% decline during the pandemic, and a postpandemic rebound exceeding pre-coronavirus disease levels. CONCLUSION: The pandemic's impact was profound, yet the resilience of China's tourism sector is evident, with a focus on the recovery's implications for sustainable growth. Despite the pandemic's disruption, China's tourism and sports tourism sectors have demonstrated resilience and potential for continued growth, warranting ongoing attention.

RESUMO

A full selectivity control over the catalytic hydrogenation of nitroaromatics leads to the production of six possible products, i.e., nitroso, hydroxylamine, azoxy, azo, hydrazo or aniline compounds, which has however not been achieved in the field of heterogeneous catalysis. Currently, there is no sufficient evidence to support that the catalytic hydrogenation of nitroaromatics with the use of heterogeneous metal catalysts would follow the Haber's mechanistic scheme based on electrochemical reduction. We now demonstrate in this work that it is possible to fully control the catalytic hydrogenation of nitroaromatics into their all six products using a single catalytic system under various conditions. Employing SnO2-supported Pt nanoparticles facilitated by the surface coordination of ethylenediamine and vanadium species enabled this unprecedented selectivity control. Through systematic investigation into the controlled production of all products and their chemical reactivities, we have constructed a detailed reaction network for the catalytic hydrogenation of nitroaromatics. Crucially, using oxygen-isolated characterization techniques is essential for identifying unstable compounds such as nitroso, hydroxylamine, hydrazo compounds. The insights gained from this research offer invaluable guidance for selectively transforming nitroaromatics into a wide array of functional N-containing compounds, both advancing fundamental understanding and fostering practical applications in various fields.

BACKGROUNDS & AIMS: The nutritional evaluation of pancreatic cancer (PC) patients lacks a gold standard or scientific consensus, we aimed to summarize and systematically evaluate the prognostic value of nutritional screening and assessment tools used for PC patients. METHODS: Relevant studies were retrieved from major databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library) and searched from January 2010 to December 2023. We performed meta-analyses with STATA 14.0 when three or more studies used the same tool. RESULTS: This analysis included 27 articles involving 6,060 PC patients. According to a meta-analysis of these studies, poor nutritional status evaluated using five nutritional screening tools Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI), Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI), Controlling Nutritional Status Score (CONUT), Nutrition Risk Screening (NRS2002) and Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS) was associated with all-cause mortality in PC patients. But Modified Glasgow Prognostic Score (mGPS) did not. Of all tools analyzed, CONUT had the maximum HR for mortality (HR = 1.978, 95%CI 1.345-2.907, P = 0.001). CONCLUSION: All-cause mortality in PC patients was predicted by poor nutritional status. CONUT may be the best nutritional assessment tool for PC patients. The clinical application value of Short Form Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA-SF), Generated Subjective Global Assessment (SGA) and Patient-generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in PC patients need to be confirmed. In order to improve patients' nutritional status and promote their recovery, nutritional screening tools can be used. Self-disclosure (SD) is a common psychological intervention that involves expressing the patient's feelings and thoughts. The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of different themes of SD on cancer patients. We searched eight databases including PubMed, Cochrane Library Trials, Web of Science, CINAHL, Medline, EMBASE, CNKI and Wanfang from inception to July 2022. Other sources included clinical data registers. The Cochrane Collaboration's tool was used to assess the risk of bias in the included studies. RevMan Analysis software 5.3 was used for data analysis. The protocol of this meta-analysis has been registered on PROSPERO (CRD42022339661). Twenty-two RCTs studies were included. The pooled results demonstrated that self-regulation self-disclosure (SRD) had significant effects on patients' sleep quality, benefit-finding, anxiety and quality of life (QOL), whereas emotional disclosure (ED) did not. Furthermore, enhanced self-regulation self-disclosure (ESRD) or cancer-related self-disclosure (CD) significantly improved patients' QOL, although health education self-disclosure (HED) and positive self-disclosure (PD) did not. Our study suggests that different themes of SD have varied effects on patients, but it remains unclear which themes to use at what point in time. Future research should investigate what themes of SD are adopted at different points in time and the duration of different periods.

Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of intimacy and dyadic coping on anxiety and depression in patients with pancreatic cancer and their spousal caregivers. Methods: This study conducted from October 2021 to June 2022, included 277 pancreatic cancer patients and their spousal caregivers. This research used actor-partner interdependence mediation model to explore the relationship of intimacy, dyadic coping, and psychological distress among pancreatic cancer patients and their spousal caregivers. Results: The results of this study showed that there were two actor effects: the satisfaction of intimate relationship between pancreatic cancer patients and their spouse caregivers had a positive predictive effect on their dyadic coping (ß = 1.787, p < 0.001) and (ß = 1.587, p < 0.001). The dyadic coping of pancreatic cancer patients and their spouse caregivers had a negative predictive effect on their own anxiety and depression (ß = -0.253, p < 0.001) and (ß = -0.293, p < 0.001). The results of this study showed that there was a partner effect: intimate relationship satisfaction of pancreatic cancer patients had a positive predictive effect on dyadic coping of their spousal caregivers (ß = 0.574, p < 0.05). Conclusion: This study demonstrates the interdependence of pancreatic cancer patients and their spousal caregivers in coping with the disease. The healthy intimate relationship and effective dyadic coping styles are essential to alleviating disease pressure and lowering the psychological burden on cancer families.

Purpose@#We aimed to analyze the optimal timing of enteral nutrition (EN) in the treatment of sepsis and its effect on sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI.) Materials and Methods: The MIMIC-III database was employed to identify patients with sepsis who had received EN. With AKI as the primary outcome variable, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were utilized to calculate the optimal cut-off time of early EN (EEN). Propensity score matching (PSM) was employed to control confounding effects. Logistic regressions and propensity score-based inverse probability of treatment weighting were utilized to assess the robustness of our findings. Comparisons within the EEN group were performed. @*Results@#2364 patients were included in our study. With 53 hours after intensive care units (ICU) admission as the cut-off time of EEN according to the ROC curve, 1212 patients were assigned to the EEN group and the other 1152 to the delayed EN group. The risk of SA-AKI was reduced in the EEN group (odds ratio 0.319, 95% confidence interval 0.245–0.413, p<0.001). The EEN patients received fewer volumes (mL) of intravenous fluid (IVF) during their ICU stay (3750 mL vs. 5513.23 mL, p<0.001). The mediating effect of IVF was significant (p<0.001 for the average causal mediation effect). No significant differences were found within the EEN group (0–48 hours vs. 48–53 hours), except that patients initiating EN within 48 hours spent fewer days in ICU and hospital. @*Conclusion@#EEN is associated with decreased risk of SA-AKI, and this beneficial effect may be proportionally mediated by IVF volume.

Objective:To evaluate the role of G-rich RNA sequence binding factor 1 (GRSF1) in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in mice and the relationship with ferroptosis.Methods:Twenty-four clean-grade male C57BL/6 mice, aged 8-10 weeks, weighing 20-25 g, were divided into 4 groups ( n=6 each) using a random number table method: sham operation group (Sham group), cerebral I/R group (IR group), cerebral I/R+ GRSF1 overexpression group (IR+ LV-GRSF1 group), and cerebral I/R+ GRSF1 overexpression+ glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) inhibitor group (IR+ LV-GRSF1+ RSL3 group). The model of middle cerebral artery occlusion was developed by thread-occlusion method in anesthetized animals. In IR+ LV-GRSF1 group, GRSF1-overexpressed lentivirus 2 μl was injected into the lateral ventricle at 7 days before the development of the model. GPX4 inhibitor RSL3 5 mg/kg was intraperitoneally injected for 2 consecutive days before the development of the model in IR+ LV-GRSF1+ RSL3 group. After 24 h of reperfusion, the percentage of cerebral infarction volume was determined by TTC assay, the survival neurons in ischemic area were detected by Nissl staining, and brain tissues in ischemic area were obtained for determination of the expression of p16, p21(markers of senescence) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α, senescence-associated secretory phenotype) mRNA (by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction), contents of malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase(SOD) and glutathione (GSH) (by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) and expression of GRSF1, GPX4, Acyl-CoA synthetase long-chain family member 4 (ACSL4) and ferritin (by Western blot). Results:Compared with Sham group, the percentage of cerebral infarction volume was significantly increased, the count of viable neurons was decreased, the expression of p16, p21 and TNF-α mRNA in ischemic brain tissues was up-regulated, SOD and GSH contents were decreased, the MDA content was increased, the expression of GRSF1 and GPX4 was down-regulated, and the expression of ACSL4 and ferritin was up-regulated in IR group ( P<0.05). Compared with IR group, the percentage of cerebral infarction volume was significantly decreased, the count of viable neurons was increased, the expression of p16, p21 and TNF-α mRNA in ischemic brain tissues was down-regulated, SOD and GSH contents were increased, the MDA content was decreased, the expression of GRSF1 and GPX4 was up-regulated, and the expression of ACSL4 and ferritin was down-regulated in IR+ LV-GRSF1 group ( P<0.05). Conclusions:GRSF1 is involved in the endogenous protective mechanism against cerebral I/R injury by up-regulating GPX4 expression, attenuating oxidative stress, and thus inhibiting ferroptosis in mice.

Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of occupational diseases caused by physical factors in Guangdong Province from 2013 to 2022, and to evaluate the key risk points of its incidence. Methods The data of newly diagnosed and suspected occupational diseases caused by physical factors in Guangdong Province from 2013 to 2022 were collected from the Occupational Diseases and Hazards Monitoring Information System under China Disease Prevention and Control Information System, and were analyzed retrospectively. The key risk points of occupational diseases caused by physical factors were evaluated. Results A total of 661 cases of occupational diseases caused by physical factors were reported in Guangdong Province from 2013 to 2022, showing an overall increasing trend, with an average annual growth rate of 29.6%. The major occupational diseases caused by physical factors were occupational hand-arm vibration disease and occupational heat stroke, accounting for 59.5% and 39.6%, respectively. The nine prefecture-level cities of Pearl River Delta region accounted for 98.5% of the new cases. The cases were distributed mainly in the manufacturing industry (77.0% of the cases). A total of 294 enterprises were involved in the analysis of newly diagnosed occupational diseases caused by physical factors. Occupational hand-arm vibration cases appeared to be significantly aggregated in specific enterprises, and other disease cases were mostly sporadic. The types of enterprise registration were mainly Hong Kong-, Macao-, and Taiwan-invested enterprises and domestic-funded enterprises, accounting for 53.1% and 41.4%, respectively. In terms of enterprise size, large-scale and small-scale enterprises accounted for 56.5% and 21.4% of cases, respectively. A total of 27.4% of workers with occupational diseases caused by physical factors were identified as suspected occupational diseases before be diagnosed as occupational diseases, all of which were hand vibration disease and heat stroke In the future, attention should be paid to the risks of mass events of occupational hand-arm vibration disease, outbreaks of occupational heat stroke, and missed diagnosis of suspected occupational hand-arm vibration disease. Conclusion Among all occupational diseases caused by physical factors in Guangdong Province, attention should be paid on occupational hand-arm vibration disease and occupational heat stroke. Occupational hand-arm vibration disease has a high risk of group morbidity. Construction workers and sanitation workers have a high potential risk of occupational heat stroke.
