RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Regulations in the form of Regional Regulations on Non-Smoking Areas are efforts to prevent smoking in schools. We will show qualitatively and quantitatively whether the policy can control smoke-free schools since 2015 in Muaro Jambi Regency. However, the implementation is still not optimal, even almost not implemented following the mandate of government regulation Number 109 of 2012 and regional regulation Number 5 of 2018. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the smoke-free area policy in schools in Muaro Jambi Regency. METHOD: Research using mixed method study employing quantitative through distribution survey of smoke-free zones and qualitative by interviewing 31 schools of informants and observing 499 points of educational institutions. Selection of informants by considering the criteria of adequacy and suitability of data analysis with content analysis. RESULTS: The cause of the non-implementation of the smoke-free area policy is the lack of socialization of local regulations. The regulation of non-smoking area bylaws has not been made, implementing rules with the decree of the law. Schools do not run areas without cigarettes because they do not fully understand the rules, namely that they are not allowed to smoke in all school environments and health facilities. Oversight of the no-smoking area policy has not been carried out due to the lack of policy support from policymakers and sources of funds for monitoring the no-smoking area. CONCLUSION: No smoking area policy is meaningless if there is neglect in its implementation so that it does not impact the compliance of smoking behavior following the No Smoking Area policy. The need for the commitment of school leaders in implementing and operational rules from the regional regulations in the implementation of smoke-free areas.

Suspended Sediment transport in the Northern Waters of Aceh is investigated in the domains between 5.4° - 5.65° N Latitude and 95.15° - 95.45° E. Therefore, this study aims to calculate the suspended sediment transport using a non-hydrostatic hydrodynamic model with an output distribution of total suspended sediment concentration. The model was run using tidal components of M2, S2, K1, O1, N2, K2, P1, Q1 and the wind every 6 h in February and August 2019 representing the North East and South West monsoons, as well as sea temperature and salinity data. The results of the model correlated with the Tide Model Driver data obtained, and the simulation results indicated the current in February 2019 is different than in August. The numerical simulation results show that the distribution of suspended sediments in Northern Waters of Aceh is driven by currents. Furthermore, the hydrodynamics and the designed model showed that the distribution value of the surface total suspended sediment concentration was lower in August than in February 2019. The verification results of the surface total suspended sediment concentration between the model and the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite showed a good match. These results can facilitate the analysis of limited observation and remote sensing data.

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has become a global problem, put a heavy burden on the health care system, and resulted in many fatalities across the globe. A reduction in the number of cardiac emergencies, especially ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), is observed worldwide. In this study, we aimed to analyze the trends of cases and presentation of STEMI across several cardiac catheterization centers in Indonesia. Method: This retrospective study was performed by combining medical record data from five different hospitals in Indonesia. We compared data from the time period between February to June 2019 with those between February and June 2020. Patients who were diagnosed with STEMI and underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) procedures were included in the study. Results: There were 41,396 emergency department visits in 2019 compared with 29,542 in 2020. The number of patients with STEMI declined significantly from 338 in 2019 to 190 in 2020. Moreover, the total number of PPCI procedures reduced from 217 in 2019 to 110 in 2020. The proportion of PPCI was not significantly reduced (64.2 vs. 57.9%). The majority of the patients were men, with a mean age of 54 years in 2019 and 55 years in 2020. We observed a significantly longer door-to-balloon time in 2020 than in 2019 (p < 0.001). We also observed a difference in the door-to-balloon time and ischemic time between the two periods. Conclusion: We observed a decline in the number of patients presenting with STEMI to our centers. However, we observed no significant decline in the percentage of PPCI performed across our centers during this pandemic.
