RESUMO

The expression of genomic instability was studied at the phenotypical (morphological characters, electrophoretic spectra of seed storage proteins) and molecular (DNA amplification products) levels in interspecific hybrids (ISHs) from crosses of inbred lines of cultivated sunflower Helianthus annuus with perennial species of the genus Helianthus and in introgressive lines (ILs) produced on their basis. Unstable state of the locus determining the trait of lower branching was proved by the method of hybridological analysis. It was shown with the use of RAPD markers that the IL genome is characterized by instability even after long-term inbreeding (in generations F8-F12). In progenies of different combinations of interspecific crosses, identical polymorphous variants-were revealed for a seed storage protein, helianthinin, and for DNA fragments homologous to structural genes of functionally important proteins, suggesting the nonrandom character of ISH genome variation. This variation may be determined by genome reorganizations under the action of a genome shock induced by interspecific hybridization. The factors inducing reorganizations in the genome include the activity of mobile genetic elements (MGEs). Using primers specific to different MGE families, nucleotide sequences with a high level of homology to the sequences of fragments of the mobile elements MuDR, Far1, CACTA, Stowaway, and Tourist were identified in the sunflower genome. The possibility of using MGE fragments for sunflower genotyping was demonstrated.

RESUMO

The authors give clinicomorphological analysis of 100 cases of chronic tonsillitis in young children who had marked regional lymphadenitis in the absence of clinical manifestations of tonsillitis. General and local immunity were examined in these children. Lifetime assessment was made of functional tonsil condition by cytological and microbiological examination of the content of deep lacune parts. Removed palatine tonsils were examined histologically, immunohistochemically and ultrastructurally. Uncommon location of the upper tonsillar pole impairs drainage function of the lacunes, attenuation of lymphoepithelial symbiosis, functional activity of the affected part of the tonsils which give rise to pathological processes in the regional lymph nodes. Impairment of lymph nodes becomes leading in clinical course of the disease.

RESUMO

33 children with affected lymphadenoid throat ring and 15 healthy children were examined for local and general immunity status. Assessment of general immunity provided poor information. Measurements of secretion immunoglobulins levels with enzyme immunoassay was informative and demonstrated close similarity of the clinical and immunological indices. Concentrations of immunoglobulins in the lacunar secretion can serve a prognostic criterium.

RESUMO

The influence of the cellular treatment with the aid of a vibrocolloidal mill on the model proteins--albumin and yeast glutelin was studied. The treatment of the model proteins in methylene chloride using the vibrocolloidal mill did not change the protein solubility. By analytical centrifugation, electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel and gel filtration it was shown that these proteins underwent no destruction.
