[The computer morphometry of synoviocytes: the diagnostic possibilities and importance for patients with post-traumatic osteoarthritis].

The article deals with the data of computer morphometric analysis ofsynovial cells in 27 patients 35-53 years old with knee joint posttraumatic osteoarthritis stage I-II according Kellgren and Lowrence classification. The proposed technique of image computer analysis made it possible to apply a large specter of cardio-metric studies of pathologic processes in synovia of patients with post-traumatic osteoarthritis. The study results favored the implementation in computer morphometry new indicators characterizing brightness and optical density of image and permitting to evaluate the degree of compactization and amount of DNA in cells nuclei. The synoviocytes were differentiated on types I, II and III on basis of form parameters and histograms of distribution of cells nuclei brightness. The results of computer analysis of kinetics of proliferation of these cells dyed by Feulgen testified that in synovia of patients with post-traumatic osteoarthritis synoviocytes type II were in G1 -period of interphase and synoviocytes type III were in S-period or G2 -period of interphase.

[Therapeutic effect of mineral water of the Belokurikha spa resort on the level of antinuclear antibodies and chromosomal aberrations in synovial cells of patients with osteoarthrosis].

The objective of this study was chromosomal analysis and measurement of anti-nuclear antibody level in synovial cells of 28 patients aged between 35 and 50 years with knee joint osteoarthrosis before and after radon therapy at an equivalent doe of 280 mSv per treatment course. It was shown that the presence of osteoarthrosis was associated with a rise in the number of synoviocytes characterized by cytogenetic defects in the form of various chromosomal aberrations the frequency of which positively correlated with the number of anti-nuclear antibodies. Radon therapy brought about a decreases in the titers of antinuclear antibodies in synovial cells and the number of chromosomal aberrations in their nuclear apparatus. These changes were accompanied by the enhancement of mitotic activity of synoviocytes, stimulation of protein synthesis in these cells, and activation of proliferative processes in the synovial medium of the joints.

[Rehabilitation of patients with post-traumatic coxarthrosis].

This paper reports the results of rehabilitative treatment of 102 patients with post-traumatic coxarthrosis. The data obtained during clinical and instrumental examination provided a basis for the development of a diagnostic algorithm that allows for objective verification of ethiopathogenesis of structural and functional disturbances in the supporting organ. An original approach is proposed based on distinguishing the principal clinical syndromes associated with post-traumatic coxarthrosis. Ways and means for medical rehabilitation of patients with post-traumatic coxarthrosis are reviewed with special reference to the mechanism of action of various therapeutic agents. Their combined application permitted to achieve a synergistic effect and thereby improve the functional outcome of remedial measures.

[Effects of therapeutic complexes including balneoradonokinesitherapy, electromyostimulation and low-frequency magnetotherapy on regional blood flow in patients with postrraumatic gonarthritis].

Balneoradonokinesitherapy alone and its combination with electrostimulation and low-frequency magnetotherapy were used for the treatment of regional blood flow disorders in 76 patients with posttraumatic gonarthritis. Balneoradonokinesitherapy in combination with electromyostimulation improved blood circulation. When low-frequency magnetotherapy was added to the latter complex, the regress of regional blood flow disorders of a damaged extremity was most significant.

[Radon alpha-applicator in therapy of reactive and inflammatory arthropathies].

The article presents the results of treatment of 42 patients with reactive and inflammatory arthropathy of the knee and ankle joints. Nineteen patients were exposed to EHF (460 MHz) electromagnetic field, 23 patients received local cutaneous alpha therapy with radon applicator. Radon concentration was 7.4 Bq/l (0.2 nCi/l), the exposure was 90 minutes. Local alpha-therapy by radon applicator proved highly active as shown by attenuation of inflammation, excudative and proliferative disorders in the joints.

[Comparative aspects of the methods of diagnosis of soft tissue injuries in traumas of the talocrural articulation].

The authors give grounds for using effective methods of diagnosis of injuries of the talocrural articulation in clinical practice. The role of MRT, USI, thermometry are presented in a comparative aspect. The diagnostic means of traditional X-ray examinations are also shown. It was found that thermometry in complex with X ray methods of diagnosis and USI systematized the diagnostic information, allowed corrections of medical programs, determined the time of the end of restoration of injured elements of the talocrural articulation with special reference to each patient.
