RESUMO
A series of five cases of non-cardiac chest pain is being reported. In all cases, a detailed cardiac work up excluded coronary artery disease (CAD). Upper gastro-intestinal endoscopy was found to be useful. Gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD) was diagnosed in three cases. The diagnosis of esophageal disease was clinical in the other two. All patients responded well to further treatment and have been followed up for six months to two years.
RESUMO
The development of a specular reflectance standard at near normal incidence employing aluminum, gold, and silicon for the 2.5-25-microm infrared region is described.
RESUMO
Photoacoustic spectroscopy, using a PZT transducer, is a quick, direct, and accurate technique to measure ink colors from the absorption region and maximum absorption position.
RESUMO
Capacitive meshes for far ir, low pass filters are prepared from Cu layers on 2.5 micro plastic film. The properties of these meshes of different mesh constants g with their different combinations in two-mesh, fourmesh, and eight-mesh filters are studied in the spectral region 160 cm(-1) to 10 cm(-1) by the use of a grating spectrometer. The applications of these meshes as low pass filters in the far ir spectral region in a grating spectrometer are described.
RESUMO
PIP: A study involving the insertion of the Lippe's loop IUD in 600 Indian women from August 1, 1965, to June 30, 1967, is presented. There was an .8% pregnancy rate and a 6% spontaneous expulsion rate. The loop removal rate was 13.5%, with bleeding the main reason for removal. 91.2% of the study group were between the ages of 21 and 35. 88 of the women had IUD insertion during the puerperium, 140 were done within the first 3 months, 86 before 6 months, 118 within a year after delivery or abortion, 96 within 2 years, 32 within 3 years, 22 within 6 years, 14 within 9 years, and 4 after 10 years and above. It is recommended that the loop be inserted within the first 3 months after delivery or abortion. It is believed that the present loop needs to be changed in size, shape, and configuration and that the detectors, like threads and beads, are more harmful than useful. It is felt that to avoid cancer phobia Papanicolaou smear study is essential.^ieng
