[Assessment of the contribution of environmental factors to the formation of the demographic situation at the regional level].

The most informative priority environmental, social, and economic factors reflecting with the highest significance demographic processes in the urbanized and rural areas have been substantiated from the results of analyzing the data of the Regional Information Fund of sociohygienic monitoring by multivariate (correlation, factor, and regression) analysis methods. Models were obtained, which were used to define quantitative correlations between the demographic indices and the environmental-socioeconomic ones and to identify priority criteria for urbanized and rural areas while predicting their development and taking a managerial decision.

[Influence of environmental factors on the pediatric population in the urbanized and rural areas of the Orenburg Region].

The paper gives the data of studies establishing the regularities of formation of the composition, levels, and space-time features of pollution of ambient air, soil, and drinking water in the risk of their influence of the health status of the children residing in the urbanized and rural areas. The studies have ascertained that the magnitude of a complex anthropogenic load of the environment on the pediatric population living in the urbanized area is 4.9 times higher than that in the rural area. The priority chemical pollutants are different in the urbanized and rural areas. The urbanized area has been found to be most unfavorable as to the risk of development of non-carcinogenic effects with the calculated hazard indices being kept in mind. The same trend is shown for the calculated population risk indices.

[The judgments of physicians of primary health care services on the disability issues].

The disability is an information indicator of population health. Therefore, prevention and disability decreasing are included in the priorities of public social policy. The issue of disability is actual in Orenburg oblast. The sociological survey on physicians of primary medical social care was organized to reveal the reserves to be applied to decrease population disability in oblast. The research revealed the need for additional training of physicians in the area of social expertise implementation. The physicians of primary health care indicated that among possible means to decrease the population disability is the further implementation of activities in the dispanserization area as it is postulated in the framework of project "Health" and the enhancement of material and technical resources of curative preventive institutions.

[Health of rural population under active migratory processes]. / Zdorov'e sel'skogo naseleniia v usloviiakh aktivnykh migratsionnykh protsessov.

Human health changes occurring in the presence of active migratory processes were analyzed in a rural area of the Orenburg region in 1995 to 2000. There were increases in morbidity and mortality rates. The rates of deaths caused by accidents, injuries and intoxication were noted to rise in the structure of mortality in the able-bodied population. The total mortality rate in the adult population in the area exceeds the average one of Russia. There is an evident tendency for an increase in the incidence of some most important non-epidemic diseases in the population. This all provides evidence for that its necessary to work out a system of preventive measures and, first of all, among socially disadapted strata of society.
