On the ground of microbiological data the perspective of klaforan, orelox, cefpirom application in the clinic was shown.

The author submits present-day data on mechanisms of action and clinical application of new drug preparations, NSAID, derivatives of enolic acid of the oxicam class, movalis, as one of their number (meloxicam, international name), of Boehringer Ingelheim (Germany). Clinical and pharmacological value is discussed of selective blockade of cyclogenase isoenzymes (COX)--COX1 and COX2 in the antiinflammatory effect and development of unfavourable side-effects.

Computer analysis of drug therapy in cardiac patients. Preliminary communication.

The authors present a system of computer control in drug therapy of cardiac patients aimed at preventing complications and adverse interactions of simultaneously administered drugs. The system includes data on the 196 most frequently used cardiac drugs and 433 other drugs showing clinically important interactions with cardiac drugs.

[The use of the antipyrine test for studying microsomal drug oxidation]. / Ispol'zovanie antipirinovogo testa pri izuchenii mikrosomal'nogo okisleniia lekarstvennykh sredstv.

The data about the use of "antipyrine test" in clinical practice for studying the drug oxidation peculiarities are presented. The data characterize the main pharmacokinetic properties of antipyrine as a "metabolic marker" for quantitative estimation of the effects of inductors and inhibitors on the liver microsomal enzyme activity. The research methods are described and the data on the effects of different environmental factors on antipyrine metabolism are presented. The peculiarities of using the drug as a model for studying the effects of different environmental factors on the drug metabolism are formulated.

[Role of computerized analysis in improvement of drug therapy and prevention of drug-induced allergic reactions]. / Rol' kompiuternogo analiza v optimizatsii farmakoterapii i profilaktike medikamentoznykh allergicheskikh reaktsii.

A system of computer-aided monitoring of the safety of drug therapy was developed to reduce the incidence of drug side effects. A data bank coupled with an original algorithm system helps prevent drug-induced allergic cross reactions. The system includes information on 18 groups of drugs with similar chemical structures of combined drugs including the same agent, permitting cross allergies within the group; a total of 400 drugs are included in the system.
