RESUMO

Zinc content in blood plasma and brain tissue of rats was studied by analytic mass-spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma. In control (saline-treated animal) zinc content in plasma was 3.6±1.4 mg/ml, in the liver - 12.5±2.5 mg/mg, in the spleen - 10.9±4.1 mg/mg, in the brain - 8.7±3.0 mg/mg. After a single intraperitoneal injection of zinc donator acizolum (24 mg/kg) zinc content decreased in all examined tissues, especially in brain. After a course of sequential acizolum injections (seven administrations during two weeks) essential elevation of zinc content in blood plasma and tissues investigated was detected. The maximal increase zinc concentration in blood plasma and liver was detected in 15 h after the last acizolum injections. Selen, calcium, copper and iron contents demonstrated a more complex behaviour. The obtained data suggest that prolonged acizolum administration has a significant impact on the bioelements content, and this should be taken into consideration when this zinc donator is used as a drug.

RESUMO

Zinc level in the blood plasma and brain of rats was studied by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Maximum amount of zinc was observed in the cerebellum (15.0±5.5 µg/mg wet tissue). Single intraperitoneal administration of a zinc donor acyzol (24 mg/kg) did not change the content of this element in the tissues. Repeated injections of acyzol (7 injections over 14 days) significantly increased zinc level in rat plasma and brain. This elevation was most pronounced in the forebrain (cortex and subcortical structures). The rise in zinc concentration in blood plasma correlated with its level in the brain.

RESUMO

The study included 90 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) with NYHA FC I-II cardiac insufficiency professionally exposed to ionizing radiation (IR). 30 patients had isolated CHD, 30 presented with CHD and concomitant euthyroid autoimmune thyroiditis (ALT) and 30 with hypothyroid AIT. The control group consisted of 30 patients with the same pathologies unexposed to IR. Peculiarities of serum lipid profile in the patients of all groups were investigated. It was shown that professional exposure to low-dose radiation had no appreciable effect on the lipid spectrum in professionals with CHD even if it combines with AIT without hormonal disorders (euthyroidism). The only clinically significant effect of IR was hypothyroidism in patients with CDH and AIT. Even then, marked atherogenic changes were diagnosed only in those cases where adequate replacement therapy failed to totally compensate for hormonal insufficiency.

RESUMO

In the article considers the influence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiac dyssyn- chrony (DYS) on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) by means of Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ). It was found a negative impact of T2DM both on the overall assessment; and on the physical and emotional components of the HRQoL.in patients with CHE DYS also has a negative effect on HRQoL both in patients with isolated CHF and patients with CHF and concomitant T2DM, but its influence is mediated mainly by physical component. There were a number of factors that contribute to the DYS development in patients of studied groups identified, including the poor state of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism compensation, activation of systemic inflammation. It is expedient to study HRQoL to optimize therapeutic strategies in these patients.

RESUMO

UNLABELLED: The study included patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Dyssynchrony (DS) is a frequent cause of unfavourable prognosis in CHF patients. The relationship between DS and left ventricle (LV) geometry in patients with CHF and DM is virtually unexplored. AIM: To estimate effects of DS and left bundle branch block (LBBB) on LV geometry in patients with CHF and DM. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study included 61 patients with CHF of ischemic etiology (NYHA II-IV FC) divided between 4 groups. Group 1: patients with CHF without type 2 DM, group 2: patients with CHF and type 2 DM, group 3: patients with CHF, type 2 DM, and DS, group 4: patients with CHF, type 2 DM, DS, and LBBB. Interventricular DS was determined by standard Doppler EchoCG in the pulsed-wave regime. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Remodeling in patients of group 1 and 2 was presented mainly by concentric heart hypertrophy (73.3% and 57.89% respectively, p < 0.05) compared with 20 and 14.3% in groups 3 and 4 (p < 0.05). Concentric remodeling occurred in 33.3 and 28.5% of the patients in groups 3 and 4 respectively. Eccentric hypertrophy was documented in all groups except group 1; it was more frequent in the presence of DS (46.6 and 57.14% in groups 3 and 4 respectively). Normal LV geometry and concentric hypertrophy was characteristic of patients with NYHA II FC CHF and eccentric hypertrophy in those with NYHA ILL-IV FC CHF. CONCLUSION: Myocardial remodeling associated with DM2 and DS is characterized by formation of different types of myocardial geometry. Structural and functional changes in LV myocardium represented by eccentric hypertrophy are especially well pronounced in patients with CHF, type 2 DM, DS, and LBBB.

RESUMO

Agents effecting healing of the infarction zone were used in treatment of 326 patients with macrofocal myocardial infarction. In hyporeactive myocardial infarction stimulators of reparative processes, namely, methyluracil, sodium nucleinate, riboxin, retabolil, phenabolil). In hypereactive myocardial infarction antiinflammatory agents (amidopyrin, butadion, ibuprophen, indomethacin and oth.) were used beginning with the first days while stimulators of reparative processes were used beginning with the 3-4 days. Inclusion into treatment of agents optimizing healing of the myocardial infarction improved the clinical course of the disease, reduced manifestations of cardiac insufficiency and disorders of the cardiac rhythm.

RESUMO

The functional state of thrombocytes (aggregation capacity and sensitivity to prostacyclin) was studied in 77 patients with myocardial infarction. Reparation processes were assessed. In cases of high initial activity of thrombocytes disorders were revealed in the processes of infarction healing. Low aspirin doses resulted in an improvement of the functional state of thrombocytes and normalization of reparative processes in the myocardium.
