RESUMO

The deep learning-based automatic detection of epilepsy electroencephalogram (EEG), which can avoid the artificial influence, has attracted much attention, and its effectiveness mainly depends on the deep neural network model. In this paper, an attention-based multi-scale residual network (AMSRN) was proposed in consideration of the multiscale, spatio-temporal characteristics of epilepsy EEG and the information flow among channels, and it was combined with multiscale principal component analysis (MSPCA) to realize the automatic epilepsy detection. Firstly, MSPCA was used for noise reduction and feature enhancement of original epilepsy EEG. Then, we designed the structure and parameters of AMSRN. Among them, the attention module (AM), multiscale convolutional module (MCM), spatio-temporal feature extraction module (STFEM) and classification module (CM) were applied successively to signal reexpression with attention weighted mechanism as well as extraction, fusion and classification for multiscale and spatio-temporal features. Based on the Children's Hospital Boston-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (CHB-MIT) public dataset, the AMSRN model achieved good results in sensitivity (98.56%), F1 score (98.35%), accuracy (98.41%) and precision (98.43%). The results show that AMSRN can make good use of brain network information flow caused by seizures to enhance the difference among channels, and effectively capture the multiscale and spatio-temporal features of EEG to improve the performance of epilepsy detection.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Extramammary Paget's Disease of the scrotum and penis is a relatively rare cutaneous malignant tumor. At present, its pathogenesis, clinical and pathological characteristics are not very clear. There is controversial regarding surgical margin width to decrease the high recurrence rate. This paper aims to report the case and review the literature of Extramammary Paget's Disease of scrotum and penis. CASE PRESENTATION: We presented the case of a 74-year-old male patient with the patchy erythema and pruritus in the perineum who was admitted to our department. Biopsy of the large plaque revealed Paget disease. Under the condition of ensuring negative surgical margins by rapid frozen pathology, a wide local excision of the lesion, bilateral orchiectomy and adnexectomy were performed on the patient. Pathology revealed that many scattered vacuolated Paget cells were observed in the epidermal layer, and the diagnosis was Paget's disease of the scrotum and penis. The 2cm outside the skin lesion was used as the initial surgical margin and free skin flap transplantation was used to repair the surgical wound. The patient recovered well and was discharged one week after surgery. CONCLUSION: Currently, histopathologic biopsy is the most important diagnostic method for EMPD. Once confirmed, for patients eligible for surgical intervention, wide local excision of the lesion and rapid intraoperative frozen pathological examination should be performed as soon as possible. The skin flap transplantation is the first choice for the repair of large-scale wound after surgery.

RESUMO

AIMS: This study aims to investigate the effect of aerobic exercise training on BKCa channel in diabetic vascular smooth muscle and explore the underlying mechanism. METHODS: Control m/m mice and diabetic db/db mice were randomly assigned to sedentary groups (W and D) and exercise training groups (WE and DE). Mice in exercise groups underwent training sessions lasting for 12 weeks, with a speed of 12 m/min for 60 min, five times per week. The thoracic aorta was extracted isolated and examined for measurement of vascular structure, global levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), vasodilation, and protein expression. Rat thoracic aorta vascular smooth muscle cells (USMCs) were cultured, and siRNA transfection was conducted to detect whether AMPK contributed to the regulation. ROS level and protein expression were measured. RESULTS: Compared with control mice, diabetic mice had a larger vascular medium thickness, impaired BKCa-mediated vasodilation, a higher level of ROS, and a lower expression of BKCa α, BKCa ß1, Nrf2, p-Nrf2, p-Nrf2/Nrf2, HO-1, and p-AMPK/AMPK. Exercise training increased the expression of BKCa α, Nrf2, p-Nrf2, p-Nrf2/Nrf2, HO-1, and p-AMPK/AMPK. AMPK deletion led to lower ROS levels and expression of BKCa α, ß1, Nrf2, and HO-1 in USMCs cultured in high glucose conditions. CONCLUSIONS: BKCa channel protein expression reduction in VSMCs contributes to vasodilation and vascular remodeling dysfunction in diabetes mellitus. Aerobic exercise can promote the expression of BKCa channel and improve BKCa-mediated vascular dysfunction in diabetic VSMCs through AMPK/Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway.

RESUMO

In this work, we have developed a nanocomposite consisting of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-encapsulated 2D Zn-Co zeolite imidazole framework (ZIF) nanosheets strung on a ZnCoO nanowire array on a Ti support (denoted as 2D-Zn/Co-ZIF(HRP)|ZnCoO|Ti). This nanocomposite was then applied to constructing an electrochemical biosensor for detecting H2O2 derived from O2∙- released by mitochondria in living cells. This sensing platform shows excellent catalytic performance towards H2O2, attributable to the enzyme/metal-catalytic effect of HRP and Zn/Co-ZIF. The unique nano-string structure alleviates the aggregation of Zn/Co-ZIF nanosheets, readily exposes the catalytic active sites, protects the bioactivity of HRP, and reduces the charge/mass transfer pathway within Zn/Co-ZIF. The 2D-Zn/Co-ZIF(HRP)|ZnCoO|Ti biosensor offers two linear ranges of 0.2-10 µ M and 10-1100 µ M, a limit of detection of 0.082 µ M, a sensitivity of 3.3 mA mM-1 cm-2, good selectivity and stability over 40 days for H2O2 detection. After treating with specific mitochondrial complex inhibitors, the chronoamperometric results at the 2D-Zn/Co-ZIF(HRP)|ZnCoO|Ti confirmed complex I and III within the mitochondria electron transfer chain as the main electron leakage sites. This biosensor may contribute to the development of diagnostic health-care devices that shed light on the precaution and even treatment of oxidative stress diseases.

RESUMO

Glioma is the most common intracranial malignant tumor. Over the past several years, liquid biopsy in diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors have made many progressions, but there is still a gap from a large clinical application of liquid biopsy in glioma due to many limitations. However, in recent years, researchers have made many explorations into liquid biopsy in glioma. In the future, the liquid biopsy of glioma, especially cerebrospinal fluid, will have a broad prospect. In this review, we will discuss the current research progressions of CSF biopsy in glioma in recent years.

RESUMO

High-efficiency and low-cost bifunctional electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER), as well as gel electrolytes with high thermal and mechanical adaptability are required for the development of flexible batteries. Herein, abundant Setaria Viridis (SV) biomass is selected as the precursor to prepare porous N-doped carbon tubes with high specific surface area and the 900 °C calcination product of SV (SV-900) shows the optimum ORR/OER activities with a small EOER -EORR of 0.734 V. Meanwhile, a new multifunctional gel electrolyte named C20E2G5 is prepared using cellulose extracted from another widely distributed biomass named flax as the skeleton, epichlorohydrin as the cross-linker and glycerol as the antifreezing agent. C20E2G5 possesses high ionic conductivity from -40 to + 60 °C, excellent tensile and compressive resistance, high adhesion, strong freezing and heat resistance. Moreover, the symmetrical cell assembled with C20E2G5 can significantly inhibit Zn dendrite growth. Finally, flexible solid-state Zn-air batteries assembled with SV-900 and C20E2G5 show high open circuit voltage, large energy density, and long-term operation stability between -40 and + 60 °C. This biomass-based approach is generic and can be used for the development of diverse next-generation electrochemical energy conversion and storage devices.

RESUMO

Uterine leiomyomas, also known as uterine fibroids, are the most common benign tumors found in the female reproductive system. Transvaginal prolapsed submucosal leiomyomas are a rare complication of uterine fibroids during the postpartum period. Due to the lack of sufficient published evidence on these rare complications and their uncommon appearance, they often result in diagnostic and treatment difficulties for clinicians. This case report presents a primigravida with no special prenatal examination developed recurrent high fever and bacteremia following an emergency cesarean section. On the 20th day after delivery, a vaginal prolapsed mass was observed, which was initially misdiagnosed as bladder prolapse before being corrected to a diagnosis of vaginal prolapse of submucosal uterine leiomyoma. This patient was able to retain fertility by prompt use of powerful antibiotics and transvaginal myomectomy rather than undergoing a hysterectomy. For parturient women with hysteromyoma and recurrent fever after delivery where the source of infection cannot be found, the infection of the submucous leiomyoma of the uterus should be highly suspected. It can be helpful to perform an imaging examination to diagnose a disease, and transvaginal myomectomy should be the first choice for treating prolapsed leiomyoma in cases with no obvious blood supply or if pedicle can be achieved.

RESUMO

In the preparation processes of aluminum oxynitride (AlON) powders by carbothermal reduction and nitridation, the homogeneity of mixed raw powders between Al2O3 and C is a critical factor by which the final composition and related properties of AlON transparent ceramic will be decided. In this paper, a silane coupling agent was used as a dispersant to optimize the distribution uniformity of raw material of Al2O3 and C, and the preparation of AlON powder with controllable composition and its distribution is investigated. The results show that the silane dispersant could effectively improve the distribution uniformity of raw material. The silane coupling agent contains functional groups of -SiH3 and -CnH2n+1O. XPS showed that the silane could react with C and Al2O3 to form the Si-C bond and C-Al2O3 bond, respectively. The silane coupling agent provides a connected bridge for raw material powders. When the amount of the silane was 5 wt%, the mixed powder had a great distribution uniformity. The addition of silane coupling agent improved the reactivity of raw materials and decreased the synthesis temperature of AlON. The single-phase AlON powder was obtained after the Al2O3/C mixed powder was kept at 1670 °C for 30 min. Furthermore, the grain size of AlON powder was 100-200 nm with an AlN content of 27.5 mol%. With the increase of holding time to 4 h, the grain size increased to 15 µm, indicating that sintering between particles occurred, which may reduce the sintering activity of the powder.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION AND HYPOTHESIS: Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) brings severe psychological, physiological, and social stress to patients, which seriously affects the quality of their sexual life. Traditional transvaginal repair surgery can cause vaginal shortening. Transferring the lateral free flap can maintain vaginal length. This study was carried out to investigate the clinical efficacy of the surgery of flap transfer coverage for treating VVF. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed on 37 patients diagnosed with VVF and repaired by flap transfer coverage in the Urogynecology department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from January 2018 to June 2021. All patients took a prone split leg position to repair VVF with the flap transfer covering method and a chart review was performed. RESULTS: Among the 37 patients, there were 34 cases of primary complete healing, and the success rate reached 91.89% without recurrence and complications. Three cases recurred with leakage of urine; cystoscopy showed that the fistula was significantly reduced, and all patients were cured after secondary repair by the same surgical method without complications. CONCLUSIONS: Flap transfer coverage is a safe and effective surgical method for repairing VVF. The prone split leg position can better increase exposure. The fistula being away from the incision suture is the key to the success of the operation. Transferring the fistula can effectively improve the cure rate of VVF. Transferring the lateral free flap can maintain vaginal length.

RESUMO

Drought is one of the main environmental factors limiting plant growth and development. The AP2/ERF transcription factor (TF) ERF194 play key roles in poplar growth and drought-stress tolerance. However, the physiological mechanism remains to be explored. In this study, the ERF194-overexpression (OX), suppressed-expression (RNA interference, RNAi), and non-transgenic (WT) poplar clone 717 were used to study the physiology role of ERF194 transcription factor in poplar growth and drought tolerance. Morphological and physiological methods were used to systematically analyze the growth status, antioxidant enzyme activity, malondialdehyde (MDA), soluble sugars, starch, and non-structural carbohydrate (NSC) contents of poplar. Results showed that, compared with WT, OX plants had decrease in plant height, internode length, and leaf area and increased number of fine roots under drought stress. In addition, OX had higher water potential, activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD), contents of chlorophyll, soluble sugar, starch, and NSC, implying that ERF194 positively regulates drought tolerance in poplar. The growth status of RNAi was similar to those of WT, but the relative water content and CAT activity of RNAi were lower than those of WT under drought treatment. Based on the transcriptome data, functional annotation and expression pattern analysis of differentially expressed genes were performed and further confirmed by RT-qPCR analysis. Gene ontology (GO) enrichment and gene expression pattern analysis indicated that overexpression of ERF194 upregulated the expression of oxidoreductases and metabolism-related genes such as POD and SOD. Detection of cis-acting elements in the promoters suggested that ERF194 may bind to these genes through MeJA-responsive elements, ABA-responsive elements, or elements involved in defense and stress responses. The above results show that ERF194 improved tolerance to drought stress in poplar by regulating its growth and physiological factors. This study provides a new idea for the role of ERF194 transcription factor in plant growth and drought-stress response.

RESUMO

Background and Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the complications, success rate and satisfaction of pelvic floor reconstruction after transobturator midurethral sling (TOT) and TOT combined with pelvic floor reconstruction in the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence. To explore the pathogenesis of stress urinary incontinence after pelvic floor stress injury and improve the surgical treatment strategy. Materials and Methods: From 15 August 2018 to 24 February 2022, patients diagnosed with stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and secondary prolapse of the anterior pelvis were selected to receive surgically. Participants were followed up and evaluated at 2 months, 6 months and 1 year after treatment. According to the patient's chief complaint, the patient can urinate automatically without incontinence. The number of urinary incontinence and urine leakage was significantly reduced compared with those before operation. Urinary incontinence symptoms did not improve or worsen as ineffective, observing the efficacy and complications. Results: We included 191 patients in the TOT group and 151 patients in the pelvic floor reconstruction group after TOT was combined. The operation time and hospital stay in the TOT group were short, but the TOT group needed a second operation to treat recurrent SUI. Perioperative complications were mostly dysuria, and the incidence of postoperative complications in the group of TOT combined with pelvic floor reconstruction was low. The complete success rate and effective rate of pelvic floor reconstruction after TOT in the merger group were significantly higher than those in the TOT group, and the patient satisfaction and complete success rate were also higher. Conclusions: TOT combined with posterior pelvic floor reconstruction has a definite short-term effect on patients with SUI and anterior pelvic secondary prolapse. The operation design should pay attention to the support of the posterior wall of the perineum to the bladder neck and the middle and proximal end of the urethra.

RESUMO

Background and Objectives: pseudo urgency syndrome among patients with mixed incontinence (MUI) causes and the corresponding treatment strategies is explored. Materials and Methods: A total of 40 patients with MUI are treated with transobturator tape (TOT) and/or solifenacin succinate. Further, 30 patients with simple stress urinary incontinence (SUI) that were treated with transobturator tape (TOT) from the period of December 2018 to August 2020 are retrospectively analyzed; then, their clinical characteristics and therapeutic effects were summarized and analyzed. Results: The effective rates of SUI symptoms in MUI and simple SUI groups were 85% and 90%, respectively; further, the difference was noted as not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Among the 40 patients with MUI, 12 patients had unstable bladder contraction, and the other 28 patients showed normal bladder compliance. The treatment effectiveness rates of SUI symptoms in patients with unstable bladder contraction and normal bladder compliance were 83.3% and 85.7%, respectively; further, no significant difference was noted (P > 0.05). However, the effective rates of urge urinary incontinence (UUI) were 50% and 85.7%, respectively, however the difference was noted as statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Most of the UUI symptoms in MUI patients may be "pseudo urgency syndrome" caused by the worry about the leakage of urine, rather than a real sense of UUI that is caused by excessive bladder excitement. Direct surgical treatment in patients with MUI can improve the symptoms of urinary incontinence, and the effect is more obvious in patients with urinary frequency who have normal bladder compliance according to urodynamics.

RESUMO

Background: It is known that insufficient physical activity is associated with the risk of hypertension, but the relationship to different physical activity dimensions within hypertension risk remains to be elucidated. Objective: The objective of this study is to identify the association between physical activity intensity, frequency, duration, and volume with hypertension risk. Meanwhile, a dose-response experiment is conducted to determine the relationship between physical activity level and hypertension risk. Methods: Data came from the 2018 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS, 2018), which included 14266 participants over the age of 45. Binary logistic regression models were established to assess the associations between different dimensions of physical activity and the risk of hypertension. Restricted cubic spline analysis was used to examine possible non-linear associations between physical activity volume and hypertension risk. Results: For frequency, lower hypertension risk was associated with performing vigorous physical activity 6-7d/w (OR 0.82, 95%CI 0.73-0.93) and moderate physical activity 6-7d/w (OR 0.89, 95%CI 0.80-0.99). No significant association between any light physical activity frequency and hypertension was observed before and after being adjusted. For the duration, lower hypertension risk was observed in performing vigorous physical activity ≥240 min/d (OR 0.85, 95%CI 0.75-0.97) and moderate physical activity ≥240 min/d (OR 0.83, 95%CI 0.71-0.97). For volume, the risks of hypertension in the participants who reported TPA in the 3th and 4th of quantiles were reduced by 18% (OR 0.82, 95%CI 0.72-0.95) and 22% (OR 0.78, 95%CI 0.68-0.91). A non-linear dose-response association between total physical activity and the risk of hypertension was shown among all of the participants (P non-linearity < 0.05). Conclusion: Higher frequency and longer duration of vigorous physical activity or moderate physical activity were significantly associated with a lower risk of hypertension. Higher physical activity levels were associated with a lower risk of hypertension and there was an inverse non-linear dose-response relationship between weekly total physical activity and the risk of hypertension. These findings provide further proof that hypertension could be prevented through increased physical activity.

RESUMO

Heavy metals in indoor dust are associated with health risks in humans. However, in Shijiazhuang, a city in northern China with severe haze, no research has been published on this topic. To determine the content, distribution characteristics, and sources of heavy metals in indoor dust in the city of Shijiazhuang, indoor dust samples from 33 sampling points in the main urban area of Shijiazhuang were collected and tested. Concentrations of Cu, Ni, Cr, Zn, Cd, and Pb were 87.0, 35.1, 104.4, 568.0, 1.980, and 187.6 mg·kg-1, respectively; their levels have been discussed statistically in comparison with the reported values in other cities in China. The sources of heavy metals were analyzed using enrichment factor, correlation coefficient, and principal component analysis. The results showed that the levels of all six elements in indoor dust in Shijiazhuang exceeded the background values of soil in Hebei Province. Among these, Cd, Pb, and Zn were significantly enriched. The enrichment factors of Cu, Ni, and Cr were below 10, and their levels at different sampling points were similar, indicating their geogenic source. The corresponding pollution levels of Cd, Pb, and Zn were relatively high, and their levels at different points were significantly different and correlated, indicating that they were derived mainly from transportation. Additionally, the level of Zn was significantly affected by the indoor environment. Our findings provide a basis for conducting health risk assessments in the future.

RESUMO

This review aims to investigate the dose-response relationship between the daily step count and all-cause mortality. PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, and Web of Science were searched for all articles of cohort studies investigating the association between the daily step count and all-cause mortality. Cohort research articles were included if they reported mortality with no less than 3 categories of the daily step count, and hazard ratio (HR) with a 95% Confidence Interval (CI) was reported. Dose-response association meta-analysis and subsequent sex subgroup analysis were performed. The final analysis included a total of nine studies. Compared with the low-step count population, the high-step count population had a 62% lower risk of all-cause death (HR = 0.38, 95% CI 0.27-0.49). There was a non-linear dose-response relationship between the daily step count and all-cause mortality. Compared with the least (1895 steps), the first quartile (4000 steps/day) had a 37% lower risk for all causes of death (HR = 0.63, 0.57-0.71), the second quartile (6388 steps/day) had a 60% lower risk for all causes of death (HR = 0.40, 0.32-0.49), the third quartile (9994.3 steps/day) had a 75% lower risk of all-cause death than the first quartile (HR = 0.25, 0.19-0.33).

RESUMO

The study's prime objective is to investigate the user discontinuance intention in the shed of the negative disconfirmation of user expectation. The study has derived the theoretical structure from the expectancy disconfirmation theory (EDT) enacted through the stimuli organism response (SOR) framework to study the actual cause and effect relationship of human behavioral response. To investigate the user discontinuance intention behavioral response, a total of 434 correct and complete answers were shortlisted for analysis. To examine the data set, the study has used the modern partial least square method technique or simply SmartPLS service package to run the structural equation modeling (SEM). Moreover, the study has implied the 80/20 rule run the mediating analysis of the SOR framework. The statistical results show that all three stimuli make significant positive disconfirmation of the user beliefs in terms of dissatisfaction and the anxiety that ultimately leads to the discontinuance intention in virtual network users. Further, these results are validated through the six mediating relationships, which partially mediate the relationship between the stimuli and response. Besides all these findings, this study has made some practical and realistic theoretical and practical implications for both researchers and service-providing managers.

RESUMO

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of exercise training on arterial stiffness in obese and overweight children. Three databases were searched up to July 2021 for papers about exercise training and arterial stiffness in obese and overweight children. The quality of each identified study was evaluated. Effect sizes were estimated in terms of the standardized mean difference. Egger's test and sensitivity analysis were used to assess publication bias. In total, 26 studies by 19 researchers were included in the meta-analysis. Flow-mediated dilatation (FMD), pulse wave velocity (PWV), and intima-media thickness (IMT) were improved after exercise training in obese and overweight children. Subgroup analysis showed that exercise only reduced the PWV and IMT in individuals with a BMI < 30. FMD, PWV, and IMT were improved by exercise training in participants aged below 14 years, but only FMD was increased by exercise in participants aged 14 years and above. All types of training significantly improved FMD. Aerobic exercise (AE) and high-intensity intermittent training (HIIT) reduced the PWV of the participants, but were less effective than resistance training (RT) and aerobic plus resistance training. Only HIIT significantly reduced the IMT.   Conclusions: Exercise training improved vascular endothelial function and vascular sclerosis in overweight and obese children, especially in those with a BMI < 30 and younger than 14 years. AE had a more favorable effect on arterial stiffness. What is Known: • Exercise training was a good way to lose weight and subsequently promoted vascular function in overweight and obese children. What is New: • Exercise training was more effective on the vascular endothelial function and vascular sclerosis in overweight and obese children with a BMI<30. • Aerobic exercise had a more favorable effect on arterial stiffness, while the improvement was not effective after resistance training and combined training mode.

RESUMO

Preterm white matter injury (PWMI) is the most common form of brain damage in premature infants caused by hypoxia-ischemia (HI), inflammation, or excitotoxicity. It is characterized by oligodendrocyte precursor cell (OPC) differentiation disorder and dysmyelination. Our previous study confirmed that alpha-asarone (α-asaronol), a major compound isolated from the Chinese medicinal herb Acorus gramineus by our lab, could alleviate neuronal overexcitation and improve the cognitive function of aged rats. In the present study, we investigated the effect and mechanism of α-asaronol on myelination in a rat model of PWMI induced by HI. Notably, α-asaronol promoted OPC differentiation and myelination in the corpus callosum of PWMI rats. Meanwhile, the concentration of glutamate was significantly decreased, and the levels of PPARγ and glutamate transporter 1 (GLT-1) were increased by α-asaronol treatment. In vitro, it was also confirmed that α-asaronol increased GLT-1 expression and recruitment of the PPARγ coactivator PCG-1a in astrocytes under oxygen and glucose deprivation (OGD) conditions. The PPARγ inhibitor GW9662 significantly reversed the effect of α-asaronol on GLT-1 expression and PCG-1a recruitment. Interestingly, the conditioned medium from α-asaronol-treated astrocytes decreased the number of OPCs and increased the number of mature oligodendrocytes. These results suggest that α-asaronol can promote OPC differentiation and relieve dysmyelination by regulating glutamate levels via astrocyte PPARγ-GLT-1 signaling. Although whether α-asaronol binds to PPARγ directly or indirectly is not investigated here, this study still indicates that α-asaronol may be a promising small molecular drug for the treatment of myelin-related diseases.

RESUMO

Compounds of rare earth zirconates with pyrochlore structure are candidates for the application of thermal barrier coatings of next generation. In order to modify the mechanic properties and maintain the low thermal conductivity, other trivalent rare-earth element substitution is commonly used. Presently, investigation on the evaluation of the property of thermal expansion is attracting more attention. In this paper, a feature parameter of thermal expansion coefficient at high temperature (α∞) was proposed by combining Grüneisen's equation and the Debye heat capacity model. Using α∞ model, the thermal expansion property of different compounds can be easily figured out by first principles. Firstly, α∞ of ZrO2, HfO2, were calculated, and results are in good agreement with the experimental data from the literature. Moreover, α∞ of La2Zr2O7, Pr2Zr2O7, Gd2Zr2O7, and Dy2Zr2O7 were calculated, and results demonstrated that the model of α∞ is a useful tool to predict the thermal expansion coefficient at high temperature. Finally, Gd2Zr2O7 with 4 different Yb dopant concentrations (Gd1-xYbx)2Zr2O7 (x = 0, 0.125, 0.3125, 0.5) were calculated. Comparing with the experimental data from the literature, the calculation results showed the same tendency with the increasing of Yb concentration.

RESUMO

The oxidation of mercaptans under mild and base-free conditions is of vital importance in terms of economy and environment for petroleum processing industry. Here, we developed a series of MOF-derived cobalt-based nitrogen-doped (N-doped) carbon (Co/CN-x) catalysts for the base-free catalytic oxidation of mercaptans. The optimal Co/CN-900 showed excellent catalytic activity for the oxidation of mercaptans under base-free conditions, yielding complete conversion of various mercaptans and > 99.0% selectivity of disulfides. The high performance can be contributed to the advantages of hierarchical pore structure for the diffusion and migration of substrates, self-carrying alkalinity for the formation of mercaptide anion, abundant active Co sites for catalytic oxidation of mercaptans as well as the synergistic effects between the Co nanoparticles (NPs) and N-doped carbon supports. Furthermore, a possible mechanism for base-free catalytic oxidation of mercaptans over Co/CN-x catalysts is proposed based on a set of control experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculations.
