RESUMO

The inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) has both advanced China's economic development process and influenced the ecological quality of China's regions. Under the deepening of economic globalization and the continuous deterioration in environmental quality, the correlation mechanism between foreign direct investment, environmental regulation, and economic growth is becoming increasingly complex. Therefore, based on the slacks-based measure (SBM) model and the Global Malmquist-Luenberger (GML) index, this study measured the level of green economic growth using data from 30 provinces and cities from 2004-2019 and constructed a panel fixed-effect regression model to study the effect of foreign direct investment on green economic growth in China. The study found that foreign direct investment significantly promoted green economic growth in China, foreign direct investment promoted green economic growth through independent innovation and inhibited green economic growth through imitation innovation, and environmental regulation moderated the impact of foreign direct investment on green economic growth. This paper incorporated foreign direct investment, heterogeneous technological innovation, green economic growth, and environmental regulation into the research framework, and thereby further enriched and improved the research on the theoretical mechanism of green economic growth. The research conclusion clarified the influence mechanism of foreign capital on the quality of China's economic development, which was conducive to the formulation of more reasonable policies for attracting investments and to the promotion of the formation of a positive interaction mechanism between environmental regulation and foreign direct investment, which is of great practical significance for China's economy to achieve sustainable development.

RESUMO

Against the background of the pandemic, the mask supply chain faces the risk of pollution caused by discarded masks, the risk of insufficient funds of retailers, and the risk of mask overstock. To better guard against the above risks, this study constructed a two-party game model and a cusp catastrophe model from the perspective of the mask green supply chain, and studied the strategic choices of retailers and suppliers in the supply chain affected by the risk of capital constraints and overstock. The result shows that the risk shocks will lead to the disruption of the mask green supply chain, and the main factors affecting the strategy choice of mask suppliers and retailers are mask recycling rate, deposit ratio, risk occurrence time, etc. In further research, this study involved a mechanism for financial institutions, mask retailers, and the government to jointly deal with the risk of mask overstock, the risk of retailers' insufficient funds, and the risk of environmental pollution from discarded masks. The research path and conclusion of this study reveal the risks in the circulation area of mask supplies during the pandemic, and provide recommendations for planning for future crises and risk prevention.

RESUMO

We report a rare case of urolithiasis induced by cefazolin sodium pentahydrate and review the relevant literature. A 12-year-old girl with right kidney injury was admitted to our hospital, a computed tomography scan revealed that no signs of disease in her left kidney but her right kidney was traumatized severely. After receiving cefazolin sodium pentahydrate, 2.0 g by intravenous infusion daily for 10 days, urolithiasis was found in the left urinary tract by computed tomography scan. Later, the patient complained of left back pain, nausea and vomiting, and a further computed tomography scan showed calculi persisted in the left urinary tract, and some of which had caused left hydronephrosis. A double-J catheter was placed in the left ureter, but no calculi were seen to drain with urine in the next 2 weeks, those calculi were removed by a flexible ureteroscope.

RESUMO

Nowadays, firms spend a great deal of effort on Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) disclosure. From prospect theory, firms might disclose more CER information when they fail to achieve expected financial performance of the organization. We have constructed a CER disclosure index based on the "Guidelines for Environmental Information Disclosure of Listed Companies" issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China in 2010. Using content analysis, we analyze 397 Chinese manufacturing Shanghai A-share listed firms from 2011 to 2017 (2090 firm-year observations) to investigate the relationship between corporate expected financial performance and CER disclosure. Our results show that, firstly, when the firm does not achieve the expected performance that is when the actual expectation is lower than the expected performance of the organization, the disclosure of corporate environmental responsibility increases; secondly, we have explored the moderating effect of industry categories; we have found that when firms fail to achieve the expected performance of the organization, light polluting firms are more inclined towards disclosing the environmental responsibility information than heavy polluting firms. Additionally, we have also studied the behavior of corporate environmental responsibility disclosure in the case of analysts expecting performance as a point of reference and got the same results.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: This study was performed to explore the total prostate-specific antigen (tPSA) concentration, free PSA (fPSA) concentration, free-to-total PSA ratio (% fPSA), tPSA density (tPSAD), and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in blood in patients with concurrent benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and histologic prostatitis, and to provide new ideas for the diagnosis of prostatitis. METHODS: Patients who underwent transurethral bipolar plasmakinetic prostatectomy from June 2017 to June 2018 were retrospectively divided into two groups according to the degree of pathological inflammation of the resected prostate tissue: group A (BPH with histologic acute and chronic inflammation), group B (BPH with histologic chronic inflammation). The preoperative PSA-related indexes and NLR in blood were respectively compared between two groups. RESULTS: Groups A and B comprised 59 and 41 cases, respectively. The values of tPSA, tPSAD, and NLR were all significantly higher in group A than B, and the value of % fPSA was significantly lower in group A than B (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference for the value of fPSA between the two groups (p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Histologic acute prostatitis can cause changes of PSA-related indexes and NLR in blood, which has important clinical significance in diagnosis of prostatitis.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: This study explores the role of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) in the etiology of urolithiasis in acute renal colic by analyzing the PGE2 levels in blood and urine throughout the clinical course of renal colic. METHODS: From June 2015 to November 2017, a total of 60 patients with acute renal colic were enrolled in the study. Blood and urine samples were taken before and after administration of drug to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis; further blood and urine samples were obtained from the patients 2 weeks after their recovery. The concentration of PGE2 in blood and urine samples was determined by using a Human Prostaglandin E2 ELISA Kit. RESULTS: The mean concentration of PGE2 was 420 ± 50.3 ng/L in blood and 600 ± 70.1 ng/L in urine when the patients had renal colic. After drug therapy, these concentrations fell to 300 ± 40.4 ng/L in blood and 500 ± 54.5 ng/L in urine. After 2 weeks the PGE2 concentration was 220 ± 47.5 ng/L and 300 ± 50.2 ng/L in blood and urine, respectively. Compared with PGE2 levels after medication, these concentrations were significantly higher during acute renal colic (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The synthesis and release of PGE2 increase at the onset of renal colic, suggesting that PGE2 plays an important role in acute renal colic. Administration of a prostaglandin synthesis inhibitor is a reliable way to treat renal colic.
