RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Poly-victimization (PV) not only threatens physical and mental health but also causes a range of social problems. Left-behind children in rural areas are more likely to experience PV problems. However, there have been fewer studies on PV among rural children, and even fewer intervention studies. OBJECTIVE: The difference-in-differences method was employed to analyze the impact of intervention measures, based on the theory of planned behavior, on PV among left-behind children in rural areas. METHODS: The study subjects were left-behind children from six middle schools in two cities in southern China, who completed the baseline survey from 2020 to 2021. They were divided into a control group and an intervention group, each consisting of 228 cases, based on their schools. Before and after the intervention, the Self-made victimization-related knowledge, attitude, and practice questionnaire, Poly-victimization scale, and Middle school students' coping style scale were used to evaluate the victimization-related KAP(knowledge, attitude, and practice), victimization occurrence, and coping styles of left-behind children, respectively. Stata 15.0 was used to establish a difference-in-differences regression model to analyze the impact of the intervention measures on poly-victimization and coping styles. RESULTS: Mixed Anova revealed that after the intervention, the KAP scores of the intervention group were significantly higher than those of the control group (p < 0.05). After the intervention, the incidence of child victimization in the intervention group dropped to 9.60% (n = 22), lower than in the baseline survey, with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.01). The incidence of PV among children in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group, with the difference being statistically significant (p < 0.01). The net reduction in the incidence of PV among children was 21.20%. After the intervention, the protection rate for preventing PV among children was 73.33%, and the effect index was 3.75. The intervention improved children's coping styles, problem-solving, and help-seeking, while reducing negative coping styles such as avoidance and venting, with the differences being statistically significant (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Intervention measures based on the theory of planned behavior reduce the occurrence of PV among left-behind children, and the intervention effects on different types of victimization are also different.

RESUMO

Industrial Control Systems (ICSs) have faced a significant increase in malware threats since their integration with the Internet. However, existing machine learning-based malware identification methods are not specifically optimized for ICS environments, resulting in suboptimal identification performance. In this work, we propose an innovative method explicitly tailored for ICSs to enhance the performance of malware classifiers within these systems. Our method integrates the opcode2vec method based on preprocessed features with a conditional variational autoencoder-generative adversarial network, enabling classifiers based on Convolutional Neural Networks to identify malware more effectively and with some degree of increased stability and robustness. Extensive experiments validate the efficacy of our method, demonstrating the improved performance of malware classifiers in ICSs. Our method achieved an accuracy of 97.30%, precision of 92.34%, recall of 97.44%, and F1-score of 94.82%, which are the highest reported values in the experiment.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Poly-victimization is more detrimental to adolescents' physical and mental health than is a single type of victimization. However, there has been limited research on the trajectory of poly-victimization among Chinese adolescents. OBJECTIVE: Identify the different developmental trajectories of poly-victimization among Chinese adolescents over time and examine the influencing factors of poly-victimization trajectories. METHODS: Data from four surveys conducted between 2020 and 2022, encompassing a cohort of 319 adolescents who had experienced poly-victimization, were utilized to identify their developmental trajectories via group-based trajectory modeling. Potential influencing factors were screened and compared using ANOVA or chi-square tests, while factors affecting the developmental trajectories of poly-victimization were analyzed through multinomial logistic regression. RESULTS: We identified three poly-victimization trajectories among adolescents: increasing poly-victimization (n = 39, 12.2 %), relieved poly-victimization (n = 228, 71.5 %), and fluctuating poly-victimization (n = 52, 16.3 %). Our findings indicate that boys, and those with poor class grade ranking, a lower level of parental education, lower household economy, smoking, drinking, suicide attempts, and suicide ideation, constitute the primary focus for the prevention and treatment of poly-victimization. CONCLUSION: We identified three poly-victimization trajectories, highlighting a significant heterogeneity in poly-victimization development. Understanding the characteristics of these developmental trajectories is crucial for realizing the dynamics of different poly-victimization subgroups and informing effective interventions.

RESUMO

Thin film transistors (TFTs) as the core devices for displays, are widely used in various fields including ultra-high-resolution displays, flexible displays, wearable electronic skins and memory devices, especially in terms of sensors. TFTs have now started to move towards miniaturization. Similarly to MOSFETs problem, traditional planar structure TFTs have difficulty in reducing the channel's length sub-1µm under the existing photolithography technology. Vertical channel thin film transistors (V-TFTs) are proposed. It is an effective solution to overcome the miniaturization limit of traditional planar TFTs. So, we summarize the different aspects of VTFTs. Firstly, this paper introduces the structure types, key parameters, and the impact of different preparation methods in devices of V-TFTs. Secondly, an overview of the research progress of V-TFTs' active layer materials in recent years, the characteristics of V-TFTs and their application in examples has proved the enormous application potential of V-TFT in sensing. Finally, in addition to the advantages of V-TFTs, the current technical challenge and their potential solutions are put forward, and the future development trend of this new structure of V-TFTs is proposed.

RESUMO

Ligustrum lucidum is a woody perennial plant of genus Ligustrum in family Oleaceae. Its dried fruit has high medicinal value. In this study, the authors evaluated the variability and species identification efficiency of three specific DAN barcodes(rbcL-accD, ycf1a, ycf1b) and four general DAN barcodes(matK, rbcL, trnH-psbA, ITS2) for a rapid and accurate molecular identification of Ligustrum species. The results revealed that matK, rbcL, trnH-psbA, ITS2 and ycf1a were inefficient for identifying the Ligustrum species, and a large number of insertions and deletions were observed in rbcL-accD sequence, which was thus unsuitable for development as specific barcode. The ycf1b-2 barcode had DNA barcoding gap and high success rate of PCR amplification and DNA sequencing, which was the most suitable DNA barcode for L. lucidum identification and achieved an accurate result. In addition, to optimize the DNA extraction experiment, the authors extracted and analyzed the DNA of the exocarp, mesocarp, endocarp and seed of L. lucidum fruit. It was found that seed was the most effective part for DNA extraction, where DNAs of high concentration and quality were obtained, meeting the needs of species identification. In this study, the experimental method for DNA extraction of L. lucidum was optimized, and the seed was determined as the optimal part for DNA extraction and ycf1b-2 was the specific DNA barcode for L. lucidum identification. This study laid a foundation for the market regulation of L. lucidum.

RESUMO

In this study, the effects of pH and NaCl concentrations on the structure of golden pompano myosin and emulsion gel were analyzed using SEM in combination with molecular dynamics simulations (MDS). The microscopic morphology and spatial structure of myosin were investigated at different pH (3.0, 7.0, and 11.0) and NaCl concentrations (0.0, 0.2, 0.6, and 1.0 M), and their effects on the stability of emulsion gels were discussed. Our results show that pH had a greater effect on the microscopic morphology of myosin than NaCl. The MDS results show that under the condition of pH 7.0 and 0.6 M NaCl, the myosin expanded and experienced significant fluctuations in its amino acid residues. However, NaCl showed a greater effect on the number of hydrogen bonds than pH. Although changes in pH and NaCl concentrations only slightly altered the secondary structures in myosin, they, nevertheless, significantly influenced the protein spatial conformation. The stability of the emulsion gel was affected by pH changes but not NaCl concentrations, which only affect the rheology. The best elastic modulus G″ of the emulsion gel was obtained at pH 7.0 and 0.6 M NaCl. Based on the results, we conclude that pH changes have a greater influence than NaCl concentrations on the spatial structure and conformation of myosin, contributing to the instability of its emulsion gel state. The data from this study would serve as a valuable reference for emulsion gel rheology modification in future research.

RESUMO

Oral mucositis (OM) is a common complication during hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. When OM occurs, with the destruction of oral mucosal barrier function, the formation of oral bacterial environment is accelerated, which has a negative impact on the life quality and clinical outcomes of patients. OM can be prevented by keeping the oral cavity clean, using the mouthwash properly, and limiting the delivery of cytotoxic drugs to oral tissues. This review describes the research progress on the prevention and local intervention of OM in patients with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, in order to provide ideas for the selection of clinical intervention and management strategies on OM, and to provide references for exploring effective management methods for OM.

RESUMO

Aim To predict the potential mechanism of ophiopogonin D (OPD) against pulmonary fibrosis by network pharmacology, and further verify it by experiment in vivo. Methods This study found that ophiopogon was the most frequently used drug in the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis with deficiency of Qi and Yin through data mining. In order to explore its material basis, network pharmacology analysis was carried out. A model of pulmonary fibrosis was established by bleomycin, and different concentrations of ophiopogonin D were administered to verify the results of the pharmacological network. Results Firstly, through network pharmacology analysis, it was found that mitophagy might be the potential target for ophiopogon to exert anti-pulmonary fibrosis effect. Meanwhile, network topology analysis showed that OPD had the greatest relationship with mitophagy. Animal experiments showed that OPD could relieve pulmonary fibrosis and reduce collagen deposition in mice. At the same time, the detection of mitophagy related proteins showed that the compound could increase the expression of PINK1 and Parkin proteins, reduce the content of P62 protein in lung tissue, and reduce the intracellular ROS level. Conclusions OPD can improve mitochondrial function and play an anti-pulmonary fibrosis role by promoting PINKl/Parkin dependent mitophagy in lung tissue.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of 10.6-µm laser moxibustion (LM) and traditional moxibustion (TM) on kidney deficiency (KYD) model rats. METHODS: Forty rats were randomly divided into normal, model, 10.6-µm LM, and TM groups. KYD was induced through intramuscular hydrocortisone injections. RESULTS: Hydrocortisone injections decreased the body weight, activity, and temperature and induced changes in the organ coefficients. Compared with the model group, TM and LM treatment prevented body weight loss and improved organ coefficients after treatment ( < 0.05), while the body weight remained lower compared to the normal group ( < 0.01). Additionally, LM and TM significantly increased the levels of urine 17-hydroxycorticosteroid (17-OHCS) compared with the model group ( < 0.01). The LM and TM groups showed a greater distance travelled across the central area, time spent in the central area, and 5-min total distance than the model group in the open field test ( < 0.01). The model group had the lowest anal or surface temperature ( < 0.05); there were no differences among the other three groups ( > 0.05). TM treatment increased the temperature of Mingmen (GV4) and Guanyuan (CV4) compared to the model group ( < 0.05, < 0.01). LM treatment increased Mingmen (GV4) temperature ( < 0.05), while there were no obvious differences in Guanyuan (CV4) temperature compared with the normal group before and after treatment ( > 0.05). There was a positive correlation between Mingmen (GV4)/Guanyuan (CV4) temperature and 17-OHCS levels. CONCLUSIONS: LM and TM treatment can improve KYD symptoms, and acupoint temperature changes may be an objective indicator of KYD.

RESUMO

Aim: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a heterogeneous disorder with high morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs, representing a major burden on public health. Here, we aimed to improve our understanding of the genetic drivers of ferroptosis and necroptosis and the clustering of gene expression in CAD in order to develop novel personalized therapies to slow disease progression. Methods: CAD datasets were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus. The identification of ferroptosis- and necroptosis-related differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and the consensus clustering method including the classification algorithm used km and distance used spearman were performed to differentiate individuals with CAD into two clusters (cluster A and cluster B) based expression matrix of DEGs. Next, we identified four subgroup-specific genes of significant difference between cluster A and B and again divided individuals with CAD into gene cluster A and gene cluster B with same methods. Additionally, we compared differences in clinical information between the subtypes separately. Finally, principal component analysis algorithms were constructed to calculate the cluster-specific gene score for each sample for quantification of the two clusters. Results: In total, 25 ferroptosis- and necroptosis-related DEGs were screened. The genes in cluster A were mostly related to the neutrophil pathway, whereas those in cluster B were mostly related to the B-cell receptor signaling pathway. Moreover, the subgroup-specific gene scores and CAD indices were higher in cluster A and gene cluster A than in cluster B and gene cluster B. We also identified and validated two genes showing upregulation between clusters A and B in a validation dataset. Conclusion: High expression of CBS and TLR4 was related to more severe disease in patients with CAD, whereas LONP1 and HSPB1 expression was associated with delayed CAD progression. The identification of genetic subgroups of patients with CAD may improve clinician knowledge of disease pathogenesis and facilitate the development of methods for disease diagnosis, classification, and prognosis.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to uncover potential diagnostic indicators of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), evaluate the function of immune cells in the pathogenesis of the disease, and find innovative treatment targets and medicines with the potential to enhance prognosis. Gene Expression Omnibus was utilized to acquire the PAH datasets. We recognized differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and investigated their functions utilizing R software. Weighted gene coexpression network analysis, least absolute shrinkage and selection operators, and support vector machines were used to identify biomarkers. The extent of immune cell infiltration in the normal and PAH tissues was determined using CIBERSORT. Additionally, the association between diagnostic markers and immune cells was analyzed. In this study, 258DEGs were used to analyze the disease ontology. Most DEGs were linked with atherosclerosis, arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and lung disease, including obstructive lung disease. Gene set enrichment analysis revealed that compared to normal samples, results from PAH patients were mostly associated with ECM-receptor interaction, arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy, the Wnt signaling pathway, and focal adhesion. FAM171B was identified as a biomarker for PAH (area under the curve = 0.873). The mechanism underlying PAH may be mediated by nave CD4 T cells, resting memory CD4 T cells, resting NK cells, monocytes, activated dendritic cells, resting mast cells, and neutrophils, according to an investigation of immune cell infiltration. FAM171B expression was also associated with resting mast cells, monocytes, and CD8 T cells. The results suggest that PAH may be closely related to FAM171B with high diagnostic performance and associated with immune cell infiltration, suggesting that FAM171B may promote the progression of PAH by stimulating immune infiltration and immune response. This study provides valuable insights into the pathogenesis and treatment of PAH.

RESUMO

Free, conjugated, and bound phenolic fractions of peel and pulp in four wampee varieties from South China were analyzed for their contents, composition, antioxidant capacities, and inhibitory activities against α-glucosidase. We found that there were significant differences in phenolic/flavonoid contents among diverse varieties and different parts (peel and pulp), and the contents were highest in the peel's bound form. The results of UHPL-Q-Exactive HF-X and HPLC showed that chlorogenic acid, gentisic acid, and rutin were abundantly distributed over the three phenolic fractions in peel and pulp of all wampee samples, while isoquercitrin was the most abundant in the conjugated form of peel/pulp and myricetin had the richest content in the free form of peel/pulp. Wampee peel had stronger antioxidant capacities of ABTS+, DPPH, ·OH, and FRAP than the pulp, and the bound phenolic fraction of the peel/pulp had much higher antioxidant activities than FP and CP fractions. It is interesting that the same phenolic fraction of the wampee peel displayed roughly close IC50 values of α-glucosidase inhibition to those from the pulp samples. The relationship between individual phenolic and TPC/TFC/the bio-activities and the similarity among the free, conjugated, and bound phenolic fractions in peel and pulp samples were explored by using Pearson correlation analysis, principal component analysis, and hierarchical cluster analysis. This work provides a systematic and comprehensive comparison of the three phenolic fractions of diverse wampee varieties and different parts, and a rationale for applying phenolics from wampee fruits.

RESUMO

Eucalyptus urophylla is an economically important tree species that widely planted in tropical and sub-tropical areas around the world, which suffers significant losses due to Ralstonia solanacearum. However, little is known about the molecular mechanism of pathogen-response of Eucalyptus. We collected the vascular tissues of a E. urophylla clone infected by R. solanacearum in the laboratory, and combined transcriptome and metabolome analysis to investigate the defense responses of Eucalyptus. A total of 11 flavonoids that differentially accumulated at the first stage or a later stage after infection. The phenylpropanoid of p-coumaraldehyde, the two alkaloids trigonelline and DL-ephedrine, two types of traditional Chinese medicine with patchouli alcohol and 3-dihydrocadambine, and the amino acid phenylalanine were differentially accumulated after infection, which could be biomarkers indicating a response to R. solanacearum. Differentially expressed genes involved in plant hormone signal transduction, phenylpropanoids, flavonoids, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling, and amino acid metabolism were activated at the first stage of infection or a later stage, indicating that they may participate in the defense against infection. This study is expected to deliver several insights into the molecular mechanism in response to pathogens in E. urophylla, and the findings have far-reaching implications in the control of E. urophylla pathogens.

RESUMO

Ligustri Lucidi Fructus, the sun-dried mature fruit of Ligustrum lucidum, is cool, plain, sweet, and bitter, which can be used as both food and medicine, with the effects of improving vision, blacking hair, and tonifying liver and kidney. It takes effect slowly. However, little is known about the genetic information of the medicinal plant and it is still a challenge to distinguish Ligustrum species. In this study, the complete chloroplast genome of L. lucidum was obtained by genome skimming and then compared with that of five other Ligustrum species, which had been reported. This study aims to evaluate the interspecific variation of chloroplast genome within the genus and develop molecular markers for species identification of the genus. The result showed that the chloroplast genome of L. lucidum was 162 162 bp with a circular quadripartite structure of two single-copy regions separated by a pair of inverted repeats. The Ligustrum chloroplast genomes were conserved with small interspecific difference. Comparative analysis of six Ligustrum chloroplast genomes revealed three variable regions(rbcL-accD, ycf1a, and ycf1b), and ycf1a and ycf1b can be used as the species-specific DNA barcode for Ligustrum. Phylogeny analysis provided the best resolution of Ligustrum and supported that L. lucidum was sister to L. gracile. This study clarified the genetic diversity of L. lucidum from provenance, which can serve as a reference for further analysis of pharmacological differences and breeding of excellent varieties with stable drug effects.

RESUMO

Objective@#Most acute promyelocytic leukemia cases are characterized by the PML-RARa fusion oncogene and low white cell counts in peripheral blood.@*Methods@#Based on the frequent overexpression of miR-125-family miRNAs in acute promyelocytic leukemia, we examined the consequence of this phenomenon by using an inducible mouse model overexpressing human miR-125b.@*Results@#MiR-125b expression significantly accelerates PML-RARa-induced leukemogenesis, with the resultant induced leukemia being partially dependent on continued miR-125b overexpression. Interestingly, miR-125b expression led to low peripheral white cell counts to bone marrow blast percentage ratio, confirming the clinical observation in acute promyelocytic leukemia patients.@*Conclusion@#This study suggests that dysregulated miR-125b expression is actively involved in disease progression and pathophysiology of acute promyelocytic leukemia, indicating that targeting miR-125b may represent a new therapeutic option for acute promyelocytic leukemia.

RESUMO

We report on curved film microstructure arrays fabricated through polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film buckling induced by mechanical stretching. In the process of the microstructure preparation, a PDMA film is glued on a bidirectionally prestretched PDMS sheet that has a square distributed hole array on its surface. After releasing the prestrain, the film microstructure array is created spontaneously. The fabricated microstructures possess a spherical surface and demonstrate very good uniformity. The film microstructure arrays can serve as microlens arrays with a focal length of 1010 µm. The microstructure formation mechanism is investigated via theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. The simulation results agree well with the experimental results. The prestrain applied by mechanical stretching during the fabrication has an important effect on the shape of the resulting film microstructures. The microstructure geometry can be easily tuned through controlling the applied prestrain.
