AIMS: Vascular aging is characterized by vessel stiffening, with increased deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins including collagens. Oxidative DNA damage occurs in vascular aging, but how it regulates ECM proteins and vascular stiffening is unknown. We sought to determine the relationship between oxidative DNA damage and ECM regulatory proteins in vascular aging. METHODS AND RESULTS: We examined oxidative DNA damage, the major base excision repair (BER) enzyme 8-Oxoguanine DNA Glycosylase (Ogg1) and its regulators, multiple physiological markers of aging, and ECM proteomics in mice from 22-72w. Vascular aging was associated with increased oxidative DNA damage, and decreased expression of Ogg1, its active acetylated form, its acetylation regulatory proteins P300 and CBP, and the transcription factor Foxo3a. Vascular stiffness was examined in vivo in control, Ogg1-/-, or mice with vascular smooth muscle cell-specific expression of Ogg1+ (Ogg1) or an inactive mutation (Ogg1KR). Ogg1-/- and Ogg1KR mice showed reduced arterial compliance and distensibility, and increased stiffness and pulse pressure, whereas Ogg1 expression normalised all parameters to 72w. ECM proteomics identified major changes in collagens with aging, and downregulation of the ECM regulatory proteins Protein 6-lysyl oxidase (LOX) and WNT1-inducible-signaling pathway protein 2 (WISP2). Ogg1 overexpression upregulated LOX and WISP2 both in vitro and in vivo, and downregulated Transforming growth factor ß1 (TGFb1) and Collagen 4α1 in vivo compared with Ogg1KR. Foxo3a activation induced Lox, while Wnt3 induction of Wisp2 also upregulated LOX and Foxo3a, and downregulated TGFß1 and fibronectin 1. In humans, 8-oxo-G increased with vascular stiffness, while active OGG1 reduced with both age and stiffness. CONCLUSIONS: Vascular aging is associated with oxidative DNA damage, downregulation of major BER proteins, and changes in multiple ECM structural and regulatory proteins. Ogg1 protects against vascular aging, associated with changes in ECM regulatory proteins including LOX and WISP2.

Fibromuscular dysplasia is the most common cause of renovascular hypertension in young adults under 40 years old. It is potentially amenable to renal artery angioplasty, which frequently normalizes blood pressure. However, limited options exist if angioplasty is not technically possible, or restenosis occurs. Here, we describe 2 patients who presented with hypertension secondary to renal artery stenosis. In the first case, a young adult with hypertension secondary to renal artery stenosis (fibromuscular dysplasia), developed restenosis 11 weeks after an initially successful renal artery angioplasty. In the second case, a patient with neurofibromatosis type 1 was diagnosed with hypertension secondary to renal artery stenosis. Angioplasty was not possible due to multiple branch occlusions. Both individuals went on to have successful renal autotransplantations, which ultimately cured their hypertension. In this article, we review the background, indications, and blood pressure outcomes in relation to renal autotransplantation in nonatherosclerotic renal artery stenosis.

RESUMO

In the UK, most adults with hypertension are managed in Primary Care. Referrals to Secondary Care Hypertension Specialists are targeted to patients in whom further investigations are likely to change management decisions. In this position statement the British and Irish Hypertension Society provide clinicians with a framework for referring patients to Hypertension Specialists. Additional therapeutic advice is provided to optimise patient management whilst awaiting specialist review. Our aim is to ensure that referral criteria to Hypertension Specialists are consistent across the UK and Ireland to ensure equitable access for all patients.

Alongside the lack of homogeneity among international guidelines and consensus documents on primary hyperaldosteronism, the National UK guidelines on hypertension do not provide extensive recommendations regarding the diagnosis and management of this condition. Local guidelines vary from area to area, and this is reflected in the current clinical practice in the UK. In an attempt to provide support to the clinicians involved in the screening of subjects with hypertension and clinical management of suspected cases of primary hyperaldosteronism the following document has been prepared on the behalf of the BIHS Guidelines and Information Service Standing Committee. Through remote video conferences, the authors of this document reviewed an initial draft which was then circulated among the BIHS Executive members for feedback. A survey among members of the BIHS was carried out in 2022 to assess screening strategies and clinical management of primary hyperaldosteronism in the different regions of the UK. Feedback and results of the survey were then discussed and incorporated in the final document which was approved by the panel after consensus was achieved considering critical review of existing literature and expert opinions. Grading of recommendations was not performed in light of the limited available data from properly designed randomized controlled trials.

BACKGROUND: Arterial stiffness, as measured by arterial pulse wave velocity (PWV), is an established biomarker for cardiovascular risk and target-organ damage in individuals with hypertension. With the emergence of new devices for assessing PWV, it has become evident that some of these devices yield results that display significant discrepancies compared with previous devices. This discrepancy underscores the importance of comprehensive validation procedures and the need for international recommendations. METHODS: A stepwise approach utilizing the modified Delphi technique, with the involvement of key scientific societies dedicated to arterial stiffness research worldwide, was adopted to formulate, through a multidisciplinary vision, a shared approach to the validation of noninvasive arterial PWV measurement devices. RESULTS: A set of recommendations has been developed, which aim to provide guidance to clinicians, researchers, and device manufacturers regarding the validation of new PWV measurement devices. The intention behind these recommendations is to ensure that the validation process can be conducted in a rigorous and consistent manner and to promote standardization and harmonization among PWV devices, thereby facilitating their widespread adoption in clinical practice. CONCLUSIONS: It is hoped that these recommendations will encourage both users and developers of PWV measurement devices to critically evaluate and validate their technologies, ultimately leading to improved consistency and comparability of results. This, in turn, will enhance the clinical utility of PWV as a valuable tool for assessing arterial stiffness and informing cardiovascular risk stratification and management in individuals with hypertension.

OBJECTIVE: Prepregnancy optimization of cardiovascular function may reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia. We aimed to assess the feasibility and effect of preconception cardiovascular monitoring, exercise, and beetroot juice on cardiovascular parameters in women planning to conceive. DESIGN AND METHOD: Prospective single-site, open-label, randomized controlled trial. Thirty-two women, aged 18-45 years, were allocated into one of four arms (1 : 1 : 1 : 1): exercise, beetroot juice, exercise plus beetroot juice and no intervention for 12 weeks. Blood pressure (BP) was measured at home daily. Cardiac output ( CO ) and total peripheral resistance (TPR) were assessed via bio-impedance. RESULTS: Twenty-nine out of 32 (91%) participants completed the study. Adherence to daily BP and weight measurements were 81% and 78%, respectively ( n  = 29). Eight out of 15 (53%) of participants did not drink all the provided beetroot juice because of forgetfulness and taste. After 12 weeks, exercise was associated with a reduction in standing TPR (-278 ±â€Š0.272 dynes s cm -5 , P  < 0.05), and an increase in standing CO (+0.88 ±â€Š0.71 l/min, P  < 0.05). Exercise and beetroot juice together was associated with a reduction in standing DBP ( 7 ±â€Š6 mmHg, P  < 0.05), and an increase in standing CO (+0.49 ±â€Š0.66 l/min, P  < 0.05). The control group showed a reduction in standing TPR ( 313 ±â€Š387 dynes s cm -5 ) and standing DBP ( 8 ±â€Š5mmHg). All groups gained weight. CONCLUSION: Exercise and beetroot juice in combination showed a signal towards improving cardiovascular parameters. The control group showed improvements, indicating that home measurement devices and regular recording of parameters are interventions in themselves. Nevertheless, interventions before pregnancy to improve cardiovascular parameters may alter the occurrence of hypertensive conditions during pregnancy and require further investigation in adequately powered studies.

OBJECTIVE: Retinopathy is one of the complications occurring among women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. We sought to determine the prevalence and factors associated with retinopathy among women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy in southwestern Uganda. DESIGN: This was a hospital-based cross-sectional study from November 2019 to March 2020. SETTING: Three selected hospitals in Mbarara city, south-western Uganda. PARTICIPANTS: The study included all pregnant women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OUTCOME MEASURES: The participants were screened for retinopathy using a fundus camera. Data on participant's sociodemographics, obstetrics and medical factors were collected. The prevalence of retinopathy was determined and multivariable logistic regression was used to determine the independent factors associated with retinopathy. RESULTS: A total of 216 women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy were enrolled in this study. The prevalence of retinopathy was 60.2% (130/216). The most common retinal lesions were grade 1 retinopathy (narrowing of arterioles) accounting for 86.9% (113/130), grade 3 (retinal haemorrhages) was present in 10% (13/130) of women and grade 4 (papilloedema) in 3% (4/130). In an adjusted analysis, severe hypertension was significantly associated with retinopathy (aOR=2.8; 95% CI: 1.36 to 5.68). Grandmultigravida women were also associated with retinopathy (aOR=2.4; 95% CI: 0.99 to 5.72) with a tendency towards significancy, p=0.051. CONCLUSIONS: In our study, retinopathy was common among women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Women presenting with severe hypertension were likely to have retinopathy. There is a need to integrate screening for retinopathy in the care cascade of women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

RESUMO

The placental syndromes gestational hypertension, preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction are associated with an increased cardiovascular risk to the mother later in life. In this review, we argue that a woman's pre-conception cardiovascular health drives both the development of placental syndromes and long-term cardiovascular risk but acknowledge that placental syndromes can also contribute to future cardiovascular risk independent of pre-conception health. We describe how preclinical studies in models of preeclampsia inform our understanding of the links with later cardiovascular disease, and how current pre-pregnancy studies may explain relative contributions of both pre-conception factors and the occurrence of placental syndromes to long-term cardiovascular disease.

INTRODUCTION: Degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) is a common and disabling condition of symptomatic cervical spinal cord compression secondary to degenerative changes in spinal structures leading to a mechanical stress injury of the spinal cord. RECEDE-Myelopathy aims to test the disease-modulating activity of the phosphodiesterase 3/phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor Ibudilast as an adjuvant to surgical decompression in DCM. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: RECEDE-Myelopathy is a multicentre, double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled trial. Participants will be randomised to receive either 60-100 mg Ibudilast or placebo starting within 10 weeks prior to surgery and continuing for 24 weeks after surgery for a maximum of 34 weeks. Adults with DCM, who have a modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association (mJOA) score 8-14 inclusive and are scheduled for their first decompressive surgery are eligible for inclusion. The coprimary endpoints are pain measured on a visual analogue scale and physical function measured by the mJOA score at 6 months after surgery. Clinical assessments will be undertaken preoperatively, postoperatively and 3, 6 and 12 months after surgery. We hypothesise that adjuvant therapy with Ibudilast leads to a meaningful and additional improvement in either pain or function, as compared with standard routine care. STUDY DESIGN: Clinical trial protocol V.2.2 October 2020. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: Ethical approval has been obtained from HRA-Wales.The results will be presented at an international and national scientific conferences and in a peer-reviewed journals. BACKGROUND: Hypertension is a key contributor to the global epidemic of cardiovascular disease and is responsible for more deaths worldwide than any other cardiovascular risk factor. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, of which preeclampsia and eclampsia are the most common forms, have been shown to be a female-specific risk factor for chronic hypertension. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to determine the proportion and risk factors for persistent hypertension at 3 months after delivery among women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy in Southwestern Uganda. STUDY DESIGN: This was a prospective cohort study of pregnant women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy admitted for delivery at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital in Southwestern Uganda from January 2019 to December 2019; however, women with chronic hypertension were excluded from the study. The participants were followed up for 3 months after delivery. Participants with a systolic blood pressure of ≥140 mm Hg or a diastolic blood pressure of ≥90 mm Hg or receiving antihypertension therapy at 3 months after delivery were considered to have persistent hypertension. Multivariable logistic regression was used to determine independent risk factors associated with persistent hypertension. RESULTS: A total of 111 participants with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy diagnosed at hospital admission were enrolled with a follow-up rate of 49% (54/111) at 3 months after delivery. Of these women, 21 of 54 (39%) had persistent hypertension 3 months after delivery. In the adjusted analyses, an elevated serum creatinine level (>106.08 µmol/L [≤1.2 mg/dL]) at admission for delivery was the only independent risk factor for persistent hypertension at 3 months after delivery (adjusted relative risk, 1.93; 95% confidence interval, 1.08-3.46; P=.03), controlling for age, gravidity, and eclampsia. CONCLUSION: Approximately 4 of 10 women presenting with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy at our institution remained hypertensive 3 months after delivery. Innovative strategies are needed to identify these women and provide long-term care to optimize blood pressure control and reduce future cardiovascular disease after hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Initiating anti-hypertensive therapy and setting BP goal in acute settings requires important considerations which differ slightly across various diagnoses and clinical contexts. This position paper by British and Irish Hypertension Society, aims to provide clinicians a framework for diagnosing, evaluating, and managing patients with hypertensive crisis, based on the critical appraisal of available evidence and expert opinion.

Age-related remodelling of the arterial wall shifts the load bearing from the compliant elastin network to the stiffer collagen fibres. While this phenomenon has been widely investigated in animal models, human studies are lacking due to shortage of donors' arteries. This work aimed to characterise the effect of ageing on the mechanical properties of the human aortic wall in the circumferential direction. N = 127 thoracic aortic rings (age 18-81 years) were subjected to circumferential tensile testing. The tangential elastic modulus (Kθθθθ) was calculated at pressure-equivalent stresses ranging 60-100 mmHg. Further, the mechanical data were fitted using the Holzpafel-Gasser-Ogden hyperelastic strain energy function (HGO-SEF), modelling the superimposed response of an isotropic matrix (elastin) reinforced by collagen fibres. Kθθθθ increased with age across at all considered pressures (p < 0.001), although more strongly at higher pressures. Indeed, the slope of the linear Kθθθθ-pressure relationship increased by 300% from donors <30 to ≥70 years (4.72± 2.95 to 19.06± 6.82 kPa/mmHg, p < 0.001). The HGO-SEF elastin stiffness-like parameter dropped by 31% between 30 and 40 years (p < 0.05) with non-significant changes thereafter. Conversely, changes in HGO-SEF collagen parameters were observed later at age>60 years, with the exponential constant increasing by ∼20-50 times in the investigated age range (p < 0.001). The results provided evidence that the human thoracic aorta undergoes stiffening during its life-course. Constitutive modelling suggested that these changes in arterial mechanics are related to the different degeneration time-courses of elastin and collagen; likely due to considerable fragmentation of elastin first, with the load bearing shifting from the compliant elastin to the stiffer collagen fibres. This process leads to a gradual impairment of the aortic elastic function with age.

Virus induced endothelial dysregulation is a well-recognised feature of severe Covid-19 infection. Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is the most highly expressed peptide in endothelial cells and a potent vasoconstrictor, thus representing a potential therapeutic target. ET-1 plasma levels were measured in a cohort of 194 Covid-19 patients stratified according to the clinical severity of their illness. Hospitalised patients, including those who died and those developing acute myocardial or kidney injury, had significantly elevated ET-1 plasma levels during the acute phase of infection. The results support the hypothesis that endothelin receptor antagonists may provide clinical benefit for certain Covid-19 patients.

BACKGROUND: Aortic pulse wave velocity is a noninvasive measure of aortic stiffness and arterial aging. Its current value in cardiovascular risk estimation practice is unknown. We aimed to establish whether aortic pulse wave velocity identified individuals with higher risk of incident major adverse cardiovascular events and improved performance of the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk score. METHODS: This prospective analysis included 3837 Whitehall II cohort participants screened in 2008 to 2009, and followed for 11.7 years (mean=10.3, SD=1.81), without history of stroke, myocardial infarction, or coronary heart disease. RESULTS: Mean age of the sample was 65.0 years (SD=5.6), 2831 participants (73.8%) were male and mean atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk score was 13.8%. At the end of follow-up, 411 individuals (10.7%) had suffered a major cardiovascular event. Those in the highest aortic pulse wave velocity quartile were at high risk (hazard ratio, 2.99 [95% CI, 2.25-3.97]) and reached the threshold for statin medication (7.5% risk) after 5 years whereas others reached it after 10 years (difference P<0.001). The addition of aortic pulse wave velocity to the risk score improved the C statistic (0.68 versus 0.67, P=0.03) and net reclassification index (4.6%, P=0.04 and 11.3%, P=0.02). CONCLUSIONS: Our results show that aortic stiffness predicted major adverse cardiovascular events in a cohort of elderly individuals, improving the performance of a widely used cardiovascular disease risk estimator. Aortic pulse wave velocity measurement is scalable, radiation-free, and easy to perform. Further studies on its applicability in cardiovascular disease risk assessment in primary care settings are needed.

BACKGROUND: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy are common pregnancy complications that are associated with greater cardiovascular disease risk for mothers. However, risk of cardiovascular disease subtypes associated with gestational hypertension or pre-eclampsia is unclear. The present study aims to compare the risk of cardiovascular disease outcomes for women with and without a history of gestational hypertension and pre-eclampsia using national hospital admissions data. METHODS: This was a retrospective cohort study of national medical records from all National Health Service hospitals in England. Women who had one or more singleton live births in England between 1997 and 2015 were included in the analysis. Risk of total cardiovascular disease and 19 pre-specified cardiovascular disease subtypes, including stroke, coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy and peripheral arterial disease, was calculated separately for women with a history of gestational hypertension and pre-eclampsia compared to normotensive pregnancies. RESULTS: Amongst 2,359,386 first live births, there were 85,277 and 74,542 hospital admissions with a diagnosis of gestational hypertension and pre-eclampsia, respectively. During 18 years (16,309,386 person-years) of follow-up, the number and incidence of total CVD for normotensive women, women with prior gestational hypertension and women with prior pre-eclampsia were n = 8668, 57.1 (95% CI: 55.9-58.3) per 100,000 person-years; n = 521, 85.8 (78.6-93.5) per 100,000 person-years; and n = 518, 99.3 (90.9-108.2) per 100,000 person-years, respectively. Adjusted HRs (aHR) for total CVD were aHR (95% CI) = 1.45 (1.33-1.59) for women with prior gestational hypertension and aHR = 1.62 (1.48-1.78) for women with prior pre-eclampsia. Gestational hypertension was strongly associated with dilated cardiomyopathy, aHR = 2.85 (1.67-4.86), and unstable angina, aHR = 1.92 (1.33-2.77). Pre-eclampsia was strongly associated with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, aHR = 3.27 (1.49-7.19), and acute myocardial infarction, aHR = 2.46 (1.72-3.53). Associations were broadly homogenous across cardiovascular disease subtypes and increased with a greater number of affected pregnancies. CONCLUSIONS: Women with either previous gestational hypertension or pre-eclampsia are at greater risk of a range of cardiovascular outcomes. These women may benefit from clinical risk assessment or early interventions to mitigate their greater risk of various cardiovascular outcomes.

BACKGROUND: Hyperkalaemia occurs in up to 10% of hospital admissions but its treatment in the emergency setting is inconsistent. OBJECTIVES: To describe the emergency management of hyperkalaemia in adults with insulin-dextrose (IDex) and to explore clinical outcomes associated with IDex treatment. DESIGN AND SETTING: Cohort study using comprehensive electronic health records of all emergency admissions to a large university hospital in the United Kingdom between April 2015 and August 2018. PARTICIPANTS: Adult patients aged ≥16 years with at least one emergency admission and one blood potassium result during the study period. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES: Emergency hyperkalaemia treatment was evaluated including the requirement for re-treatment with IDex, episodes of glucose dysregulation, intensive care (ICU) admission and length of hospital stay. Associations with hyperkalaemia, adverse events and IDex treatment were explored by logistic regression. RESULTS: Amongst 211,993 patients attending the Emergency Department (ED) we identified 11,107 hyperkalaemic adult patients, of whom 1,284 were treated with IDex. Multiple doses were required in 542 patients (42.2%). Hypoglycaemia (plasma glucose < 4 mmol/L) occurred in 249 patients (19.4%) within 6 hours of IDex. Repeated doses were associated with an increased risk of hypoglycaemia (OR 2.94, 95% CI 2.20 to 3.93) compared to patients receiving a single dose, which, after adjustment was also associated with an increased risk of death (OR 1.56, 95% CI 1.16 to 2.09) during the study period. Patients who received multiple doses of IDex (OR 2.2, 95% CI 1.6-3.1) and those who received a dose of insulin above the guideline recommended limit (OR 5.6 3.1-10.3) were more likely to be admitted to ICU following IDex than those who received a single dose or the guideline recommended dose of insulin. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: This study provides novel insight into the emergency management of hyperkalaemia in a large population, demonstrates the high risk of hypoglycaemia and highlights the urgent need for an improved, evidence-based approach to the emergency management of hyperkalaemia.

The opinion on the mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of preeclampsia still divides scientists and clinicians. This common complication of pregnancy has long been viewed as a disorder linked primarily to placental dysfunction, which is caused by abnormal trophoblast invasion, however, evidence from the previous two decades has triggered and supported a major shift in viewing preeclampsia as a condition that is caused by inherent maternal cardiovascular dysfunction, perhaps entirely independent of the placenta. In fact, abnormalities in the arterial and cardiac functions are evident from the early subclinical stages of preeclampsia and even before conception. Moving away from simply observing the peripheral blood pressure changes, studies on the central hemodynamics reveal two different mechanisms of cardiovascular dysfunction thought to be reflective of the early-onset and late-onset phenotypes of preeclampsia. More recent evidence identified that the underlying cardiovascular dysfunction in these phenotypes can be categorized according to the presence of coexisting fetal growth restriction instead of according to the gestational period at onset, the former being far more common at early gestational ages. The purpose of this review is to summarize the hemodynamic research observations for the two phenotypes of preeclampsia. We delineate the physiological hemodynamic changes that occur in normal pregnancy and those that are observed with the pathologic processes associated with preeclampsia. From this, we propose how the two phenotypes of preeclampsia could be managed to mitigate or redress the hemodynamic dysfunction, and we consider the implications for future research based on the current evidence. Maternal hemodynamic modifications throughout pregnancy can be recorded with simple-to-use, noninvasive devices in obstetrical settings, which require only basic training. This review includes a brief overview of the methodologies and techniques used to study hemodynamics and arterial function, specifically the noninvasive techniques that have been utilized in preeclampsia research.

BACKGROUND: Pain affects 60% of the autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) population. Despite being an early and debilitating symptom, it is poorly characterized and management is suboptimal. This study aimed to develop an ADPKD-specific pain assessment tool (APAT) to facilitate pain research. METHODS: Following a systematic review of PATs used in ADPKD studies and against international recommendations for pain trials, our multi-disciplinary team of clinical experts and patients constructed an ADPKD-pain conceptual framework of key pain evaluation themes. We compiled a new APAT covering domains prioritized within our framework using components of questionnaires validated in other chronic pain disorders. The APAT was administered longitudinally within a randomized high-water intake trial (NCT02933268) to ascertain feasibility and provide pilot data on ADPKD pain. RESULTS: Thirty-nine ADPKD participants with chronic kidney disease Stages 1-4 provided 129 APAT responses. Each participant completed a median of 3 (range 1-10) assessments. Respondents' mean ± standard deviation age was 47 ± 13 years; 59% (23) were female; and 69% (27) had enlarged kidneys with median time from diagnosis 14.2 (interquartile range 7.0-25.9) years. Pain (52%) and associated analgesic use (29%) were common. Pain severity was associated with increasing age [odds ratio (OR) = 1.07, P = 0.009], female gender (OR = 4.34, P = 0.018), estimated glomerular filtration rate <60 mL/min/1.73 m2 (OR = 5.45, P = 0.021) and hypertension (OR = 12.11, P = 0.007), but not with kidney size (P = 0.23). The APAT achieved good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha coefficient = 0.91) and test-retest reliability (domain intra-class correlation coefficients ranging from 0.62 to 0.90). CONCLUSIONS: The APAT demonstrated good acceptability and reliability, and following further validation in a larger cohort could represent an invaluable tool for future ADPKD pain studies.
