RESUMO

In this paper, a series of compact power combiners are designed based on multimode transmission lines. Based on the multimode transmission lines, several multiport mode networks are constructed to achieve two-way, three-way, and four-way high-isolation power combinations. In detail, a four-port mode network based on a rectangular coaxial dual-mode transmission line and a five-port mode network based on a rectangular three-ridge three-mode transmission line are designed to achieve compact high-isolation two-way power combination. A six-port mode network based on a circular-coaxial three-mode transmission line is designed to achieve compact high-isolation three-way power combination. A nine-port mode network based on a four-ridge dual-coaxial six-mode transmission line is designed to achieve compact high-isolation four-way power combination. Based on a compact multimode transmission line, two-way, three-way, and four-way power combinations can be realized with single stages, high isolation, compact cross section sizes, low insertion loss, and high power capacity. The corresponding methods can be used to design several excellent power combiners.

Pig cloning technique is valuable in agriculture, biomedicine, and life sciences. However, the full-term developmental efficiency of cloned pig embryos is only about 1%, which limits pig cloning application. The quality of recipient oocytes greatly affects the developmental competence of cloned pig embryos. Thus, this study investigated the effects of a recipient oocyte source (in vivo matured [IVVM] oocytes vs. slaughter house-derived in vitro matured [IVTM] oocytes), and follicular liquid treatment (slaughter house-derived immature follicle-derived fluid [IFF] vs. in vivo-matured follicle-derived fluid [MFF]) during the in vitro maturation (IVM) of oocytes on the development of the cloned pig embryos. Our results showed that using IVVM oocytes to replace IVTM oocytes as recipient oocytes, and using 10% MFF IVM medium to replace 10% IFF IVM medium could enhance the development of the cloned pig embryos. IFF and MFF contained different levels of oocyte quality-related proteins, resulting in different oocyte quality-related gene expression levels and reactive oxygen species levels between the 10% MFF medium-cultured oocytes and 10% IFF medium-cultured oocytes. This study provided useful information for enhancing the pig cloning efficiency by improving the quality of recipient oocytes.

A novel compact five-port waveguide power divider based on the single-ridge waveguide and three-ridge waveguide structure is proposed. It is realized by the coupling of the TE10 and TE30 modes. At the central coupling section, the single-ridge and three-ridge waveguides are used to constitute the conventional rectangular waveguide to reduce the sectional sizes. It consists of one input port, two output ports, and two isolated ports. For validation, a compact five-port power divider is designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured results show that, from 8 to 9 GHz, the return loss of the input port and output ports is higher than 18 dB, the isolation between the output ports is higher than 15 dB, the insertion loss is less than 0.3 dB, and the amplitude and the phase imbalance between the output ports are less than ±0.05 dB and ±1°, respectively. The simulated results basically agree with the simulations. Its sectional sizes are 1.1 λ × 0.4 λ which are more compact than most of the two-way isolated waveguide power dividers.
