RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To develop and evaluate a machine learning radiomics model based on biparametric magnetic resonance imaging MRI (bpMRI) to predict bone metastasis (BM) status in newly diagnosed prostate cancer (PCa) patients. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed bpMRI scans of PCa patients from multiple centers between January 2016 and October 2021. 348 PCa patients were recruited from two institutions for this study. The first institution contributed 284 patients, stratified and randomly divided into training and internal validation cohorts at a 7:3 ratio. The remaining 64 patients were sourced from the second institution and comprised the external validation cohort. Radiomics features were extracted from axial T2-weighted imaging (T2WI) and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) tumor regions. We developed the radiomics prediction model for BM in the training cohort and validated it in the internal and external validation cohorts. As a benchmark, we trained the logistic regression model with lasso feature reduction (LFR-LRM) in the training cohort and further compared it with Naive Bayes, eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGboost), Random Forest (RF), GBDT, SVM, Adaboost, and KNN algorithms and validated in both the internal and external cohorts. The performance of several predictive models was assessed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC). RESULTS: The LFR-LRM model achieved an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.89 (95% CI: 0.822-0.974) and an accuracy of 0.828 (95% CI: 0.713-0.911). The AUC and accuracy in external validation were 0.866 (95% CI: 0.784-0.948) and 0.769 (95% CI: 0.648-0.864), respectively. The RF and XGBoost models outperformed the LFR-LRM, with AUCs of 0.907 (95% CI: 0.863-0.949) and 0.928 (95% CI: 0.882-0.974) and accuracies of 0.831 (95% CI: 0.727-0.907) and 0.884 (95% CI: 0.792-0.946). External validation for these models yielded AUCs and accuracies of 0.911 (95% CI: 0.861-0.966), 0.921 (95% CI: 0.889-0.953), and 0.846 (95% CI: 0.735-0.923) and 0.876 (95% CI: 0.771-0.945), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The XGboost machine learning model is more accurate than LFR-LRM for predicting BM in patients with newly confirmed PCa.

RESUMO

China and Tunisia have frequent exchanges and good relationship. Tunisia has the largest medical center of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) among Africa and Arab countries. The development of TCM in Tunisia has shown great potential. By searching the information and legal regulations of the Ministry of health of Tunisia, the West Asia and Africa Department of the Ministry of Commerce of China and the business office of the Chinese Embassy in Tunisia, this paper studies the development status, legislation and drug access, bilateral cooperation, market potential and risks of TCM in Tunisia. It is found that acupuncture and massage are widely used in Tunisia. However, Tunisia has strict control over the sources of TCM. It is proposed that the future development of TCM in Tunisia should be based on the advantages of good relations between China and Tunisia, obtain both government support, take acupuncture and massage as a pioneer, promote TCM, encourage and develop TCM industry.

RESUMO

As a natural extension of One Belt and One Road Initiative in Africa, the Republic of Mozambique plays an important role in the spread of Chinese medicine in Africa. By searching for the materials from the official foreign aid agencies of China, Japan, the United States and Europe, this paper compares and analyzes the current situation of medical aid to Mozambique by China, Japan, the United States and Europe. It is found that Japan, the United States and Europe focus on basic health facilities, social vulnerable groups, local epidemic diseases and other grassroots assistance. Finally, it proposes to set up projects that cater to the needs of recipient countries and strengthen the exchange of traditional medicine to seek multilateral aid cooperation and develop medical aid based on project audience. We hope that we can learn from others, so that China’s medical aid to Mozambique and thus to Africa could be more comprehensive, and the spread of Traditional Chinese Medicine could be spreaded in Africa.

RESUMO

With the integration of acupuncture into Qatar’s national medical system in 2016, TCM has made great progress in the State of Qatar. At the same time, the launch of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Belt and Road Initiative has provided a good opportunity for TCM development there. At present, the state of Qatar lacks local education and policy support for TCM development and there exists competition from other traditional medicine. However, the domestic investment environment is stable. TCM development in Qatar has to focus on expanding the Chinese medicine market, promoting scientific research cooperation, encouraging herbal medicine enterprises to develop planting industry, and striving for preferential policies to develop TCM service trade.

RESUMO

Mexico has close economic cooperation with China, which boosts with rich herbal medicine resources. Its traditional medicine share great similarity with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in both theory and form. Some of its traditional medicine and Chinese herbal medicine are the same in practice. The Mexico government pays great attention to the higher education of traditional medicine, and people are easy to accept traditional medicine treatment. The development of acupuncture and moxibustion in Mexico is good. Thus, to develop the service trade of TCM in Mexico has obvious advantages. At present, the local laws and regulations on TCM are not perfect. There are some problems in the development of TCM service trade, such as the lack of cross-border delivery platform, the small scale of business, and the weak attraction of natural person flow. Based on the concept of global health governance, this paper puts forward some measures to promote the development of TCM in Mexico, such as developing industrial chain or relying on overseas traditional medicine center.

RESUMO

In recent years, the cooperation between China and the Republic of Lebanon (hereinafter referred to as "Lebanon" ) in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) service trade has become increasingly urgent. At present, TCM in Lebanon is facing challenges such as the westernized medical environment, the imperfect system of TCM doctors’ recognition, the strict drug access conditions, the imperfect industrial chain of Chinese medical products, and the significant impact of cultural and regional differences on the market demand for Chinese medicine. It is suggested that health care products should be taken as the breakthrough point to develop service trade, enterprises should be attracted to settle in Lebanon from the national level to produce Chinese medicine preparations on the spot, and pay attention to high-level contact, establish TCM hospitals, and deepen cultural exchanges, so as to promote the development of Chinese medicine in the Lebanon.

RESUMO

There are close economic and trade exchanges between China and the Netherlands. At present, the development of Chinese medicine service trade in Holland is centered on the association of traditional Chinese medicine. The drug access policy is relatively loose, but there is no clear legislation, the relevant laws and regulations are not perfect, the drug access route needs to be widened, the construction of medical institutions still needs to be developed, and there is a gap in the service trade of traditional Chinese medicine. Based on this, we should pay attention to the legislation of traditional Chinese medicine in the Netherlands, promote the establishment of overseas centers and other large-scale institutions, pay attention to Chinese medicine insurance and pharmaceutical investment, and comprehensively promote the sustainable development of Chinese medicine service trade in the Netherlands.

RESUMO

There is a long exchanges history between China and Spain. The acceptance of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and acupuncture therapy in Spain is increasing in recent years. However, the legal status of TCM has not yet been recognized by the Spanish government, who has a wait-and-see attitude towards acupuncture. The prospects of TCM and acupuncture are still unclear. We could try to gradually permeate TCM and Acupunction into Spain Health System by taking Chinese medicine insurance as a breakthrough, building Chinese medicine knowledge platform and optimizing overseas mergers and acquisitions so as to promote traditional Chinese medicine into the mainstream of Spain.

RESUMO

With the establishment of the singapore college of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and the landing of the TCM Practitioners Act in 2000, TCM is booming in Singapore. At present, TCM service trade consumes less outside Singapore, but cross-border consumption, commercial existence and natural person flow have greater advantages. At the same time, the treatment of damp-heat disease, geriatric diseases and tourism of TCM in Singapore made the trade of TCM services show broad prospects for its development. This paper suggests that we should attach importance to the location of service agencies, integrate resources to treat special diseases, increase peer exchanges, take mobile payment as an entry point, and adopt a culture-first approach to develop trade in TCM services.

RESUMO

Objective To study the effects of mobile telephone microwave radiation on learning and memory of young and senile mice. Methods The young(5 months old) and senile(10 months old) male Kunming mice were randomly divided into 2 groups respectively, the control and exposed. The young and senile mice were settled in the environment of the mobile telephone signal shoots station (3 V/m) and exposed to the mobile telephone conversation radiation with two mobile telephones for 5 h/d for 50 consecutive days. The control group was in the environment without microwave radiation (0 V/m). The capability of learning and memory of each group were determined by Morris maze test(the time of finding the flat roof:the latency), the activity of acetylcholinesterase (AchE) in the hippocampus and temporal lobe were measured by spectrophotometry. Results With the increase of training time, no significant decrease of the latency was seen in each group. Compared with the senile control group, the activity of AchE in the hippocampus and temporal lobe of the young control group and the senile radiation group were lower(P
