RESUMO

The cell cycle is a crucial biological process that is involved in cell growth, development, and reproduction. It can be divided into G1, S, G2, and M phases, and each period is closely regulated to ensure the production of two similar daughter cells with the same genetic material. However, many obstacles influence the cell cycle, including the R-loop that is formed throughout this process. R-loop is a triple-stranded structure, composed of an RNA: DNA hybrid and a single DNA strand, which is ubiquitous in organisms from bacteria to mammals. The existence of the R-loop has important significance for the regulation of various physiological processes. However, aberrant accumulation of R-loop due to its limited resolving ability will be detrimental for cells. For example, DNA damage and genomic instability, caused by the R-loop, can activate checkpoints in the cell cycle, which in turn induce cell cycle arrest and cell death. At present, a growing number of factors have been proven to prevent or eliminate the accumulation of R-loop thereby avoiding DNA damage and mutations. Therefore, we need to gain detailed insight into the R-loop resolution factors at different stages of the cell cycle. In this review, we review the current knowledge of factors that play a role in resolving the R-loop at different stages of the cell cycle, as well as how mutations of these factors lead to the onset and progression of diseases.

RESUMO

Adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) editing of RNA, catalyzed by adenosine deaminase acting on RNA (ADAR) enzymes, is a prevalent RNA modification in mammals. It has been shown that A-to-I editing plays a critical role in multiple diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, neurological disorder, and particularly cancer. ADARs are the family of enzymes, including ADAR1, ADAR2, and ADAR3, that catalyze the occurrence of A-to-I editing. Notably, A-to-I editing is mainly catalyzed by ADAR1. Given the significance of A-to-I editing in disease development, it is important to unravel the complex roles of ADAR1 in cancer for the development of novel therapeutic interventions.In this review, we briefly describe the progress of research on A-to-I editing and ADARs in cancer, mainly focusing on the role of ADAR1 in cancer from both editing-dependent and independent perspectives. In addition, we also summarized the factors affecting the expression and editing activity of ADAR1 in cancer.

Smoking is a documented risk factor for cancer, e.g., gastric cancer. Nicotine, the principal tobacco alkaloid, would exert its role of contribution to gastric cancer development and progression through nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) and ß-adrenergic receptors (ß-ARs), which then promote cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion. As a key isoenzyme in conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) has been demonstrated to have a wide range of effects in carcinogenesis and tumor development. At present, many studies have reported the effect of nicotine on gastric cancer by binding to nAChR, as well as indirectly stimulating ß-AR to mediate COX-2-related pathways. This review summarizes these studies, and also proposes more potential COX-2-mediated mechanisms. These events might contribute to the growth and progression of gastric cancer exposed to nicotine through tobacco smoke or cigarette substitutes. Also, this review article has therefore the potential not only to make a significant contribution to the treatment and prognosis of gastric cancer for smokers but also to the clinical application of COX-2 antagonists. In addition, this work also discusses the considerable challenges of this field with special reference to the future perspective of COX-2-mediated mechanisms in development and progression of gastric cancer induced by nicotine.

Nicotine enters the environment mainly through human activity, as well as natural sources. This review article examines the increasing evidence implicating nicotine in the initiation and progression of lung cancer. Moreover, it primarily focuses on elucidating the activation mechanism of phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (PKB, also known as AKT) signaling pathway, regulated by α7 subtype nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (α7-nAChR), in relation to the proliferation, invasion, and metastasis of lung cancer cells induced by nicotine, as well as nicotine-mediated anti-apoptotic effects. This process involves PI3K/AKT phosphorylated-B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2) family proteins, PI3K/AKT/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), PI3K/AKT/nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/cellular-mesenchymal epithelial transition factor (c-Met)-induced PI3K/AKT and PI3K/AKT activated-hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α)/vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathways. In addition, we also deliberated on the related challenges and upcoming prospects within this field. These lay the foundation for further study on nicotine, lung tumorigenesis, and PI3K/AKT related molecular mechanisms. This work has the potential to significantly contribute to the treatment and prognosis of gastric cancer in smokers. Besides, the crucial significance of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in multiple molecular pathways also suggests that its target antagonists may inhibit the development and progression of lung cancer, providing a possible new perspective for solving the problem of nicotine-promoted lung cancer. The emerging knowledge about the carcinogenic mechanisms of nicotine action should be considered during the environmental assessment of tobacco and other nicotine-containing products.

Background: There are several clinical and molecular predictors of responses to antidepressant therapy. However, these markers are either too subjective or complex for clinical use. The gut microbiota could provide an easily accessible set of biomarkers to predict therapeutic efficacy, but its value in predicting therapy responses to acupuncture in patients with depression is unknown. Here we analyzed the predictive value of the gut microbiota in patients with postpartum depressive disorder (PPD) treated with acupuncture. Methods: Seventy-nine PPD patients were enrolled: 55 were treated with acupuncture and 24 did not received any treatment. The 17-item Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD-17) was used to assess patients at baseline and after eight weeks. Patients receiving acupuncture treatment were divided into an acupuncture-responsive group or non-responsive group according to HAMD-17 scores changes. Baseline fecal samples were obtained from the patients receiving acupuncture and were analyzed by high-throughput 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing to characterize the gut microbiome. Results: 47.27% patients responded to acupuncture treatment and 12.5% patients with no treatment recovered after 8-week follow-up. There was no significant difference in α-diversity between responders and non-responders. The ß-diversity of non-responders was significantly higher than responders. Paraprevotella and Desulfovibrio spp. were significantly enriched in acupuncture responders, and these organisms had an area under the curve of 0.76 and 0.66 for predicting responder patients, respectively. Conclusions: Paraprevotella and Desulfovibrioare may be useful predictive biomarkers to predict PPD patients likely to respond to acupuncture. Larger studies and validation in independent cohorts are now needed to validate our findings.

Background: Increasing evidences demonstrate that immune dysregulation can result in depression, and it is reported that persistent inflammatory response is related to the unresponsiveness of antidepressant treatment. Purpose: This study aimed to explore the reason why some responded but some not responded to acupuncture in treating postpartum depression (PPD), and whether it related to the levels of inflammatory cytokines. Patients and Methods: Women diagnosed with PPD were recruited in to accept 8-week acupuncture. All subjects were assessed the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS17) at baseline, week 1, week 2, week 4 and week 8 during the treatment. A panel of 9 cytokines was measured at baseline and 8 weeks. Results: Of the 121 participants, 96 completed the 8-week assessment and 46 completed the blood sample collection. HDRS17 scores of 96 subjects showed significant statistical reduction since the first week (P = 0.002) and reached to 5.31 (P < 0.000) at the end of therapy. And we divided the 46 subjects into responders and non-responders according to the response rate of HDRS17 scores. Responders and non-responders did not differ significantly between-group in changes in the 9 cytokines. In responders, IL-6, IL-10 and IFN-γ levels were statistically lower (P = 0.006; P = 0.033; P = 0.024), while TGF-ß1 was statistically higher after 8 weeks treatment (P < 0.000). In non-responders, the levels of IL-5, TNF-α and TGF-ß1 were statistically higher (P = 0.018; P < 0.000; P < 0.000), while IFN-γ was statistically lower (P = 0.005). Conclusion: Acupuncture could alleviate depressive symptoms of patients with PPD and might through adjusting peripheral inflammatory response by up-regulating anti-inflammatory cytokines and down-regulating pro-inflammatory cytokines.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the methodological quality, report quality and evidence quality of the Meta-analysis and systematic reviews of acupuncture and moxibustion for children with cerebral palsy, aiming to provide decision-making basis for clinical treatment. METHODS: The systematic reviews and Meta-analysis of acupuncture and moxibustion for children with cerebral palsy were searched in CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, SinoMed, Cochrane Library, PubMed and EMbase. The retrieval time was from the database establishment to June 30th, 2022. AMSTAR 2 (a measurement tool to assess systematic reviews) was used to evaluate the methodological quality, and PRISMA (preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and Meta-analyses) was used to evaluate the report quality, and GRADE was used to evaluate the quality of evidence. RESULTS: A total of 14 systematic reviews were included, including 37 primary outcome indexes. According to AMSTAR 2 evaluation results, there were 4 low quality studies, 10 very low quality studies, and low scores on items 2, 4, 7, 10 and 16. PRISMA scores ranged from 15 to 25, and the main reporting problems reflected in structured abstracts, program and registration, retrieval, and funding sources, etc. According to the GRADE classification results, there were 3 high quality evidences, 7 medium quality evidences, 10 low quality evidences and 17 very low quality evidences. The main downgrading factors were limitations, imprecision and publication bias. CONCLUSION: Acupuncture and moxibustion has a certain effect for cerebral palsy in children, but the quality of methodology, reporting and evidence in the included literature is poor, and the comparison of curative effect between different acupuncture and moxibustion methods is unclear.

Introduction: Shuanghuanglian injection (lyophilized) (SHLI) is commonly used to treat respiratory tract infection. Shenmai injection (SMI) is mainly used to treat cardiovascular diseases. Despite their widespread clinical use, anaphylactoid reactions (ARs) induced by SHLI and SMI have been reported, which have attracted broad attention. However, the impact of ARs on metabolic changes and the underlying mechanisms are still unclear. Methods: ICR mice were used as model animals and were treated with normal saline, C48/80, SHLI and SMI, respectively. The behavior of mice, auricle blue staining and Evans Blue exudation were used as indexes to evaluate the sensitization of SHLI and SMI and determine the optimal sensitization dose. Anaphylactoid mice model was established based on the optimal dose and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to model verification. Afterwards, plasma samples of administered mice were profiled by LC-MS metabolomics and analyzed to evaluate the changes in metabolites. Results: High doses of both SHLI and SMI can induce severe anaphylactoid reactions while the reaction induced by SMI was weaker. A Partial Least-Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) score plot indicated that following administration, significant metabolic changes occurred in mice. 23 distinct metabolites, including deoxycholic acid, histamine, and 5-hydroxytryptophan, were identified in the SHLI groups. 11 distinct metabolites, including androsterone, 17α-hydroxypregnenolone, and 5-hydroxyindoleacetate, were identified in the SMI groups. Meanwhile, different metabolic pathways of SHLI and SMI were predicted by different metabolites. The associated metabolic pathways include steroid hormone biosynthesis, tryptophan metabolism, histidine metabolism, arachidonic acid metabolism, nicotinate and nicotinamide metabolism, and primary bile acid biosynthesis. Conclusion: Study showed that both SHLI and SMI can induce varying degrees of anaphylactoid reactions, a positive correlation between response intensity and dose was observed. Metabolomics showed that SHLI and SMI may promote the simultaneous release of hormones and inflammatory factors by disturbing relevant metabolic pathways, while SMI may also inhibit the release of inflammatory factors in arachidonic acid metabolic pathway, indicating both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory effects. This study will serve as a reference for developing a new approach to evaluate the safety of SHLI and SMI from perspective of susceptible drug varieties. However, ARs mechanism requires further verification.

Objective: To describe the characteristics of large vestibular aqueduct syndrome (LVAS) in wideband acoustic immittance (WAI) and to explore whether inner ear deformity has an impact on WAI results. Methods: Subjects with typical LVAS (LVAS group) and control subjects with a normal anatomical structure of the inner ear (control group) were screened from pediatric patients with cochlear implants using thin-slice computed tomography (CT) images of the temporal bone. With inflammation of the auditory canal and middle ear excluded by routine ear examination and 226 Hz acoustic immittance, WAI data were acquired. Then, the maximum absorbance as the major observation indicator on the mean tympanogram was compared between the LVAS group and control group, and a descriptive comparison of the mean tympanogram and frequency-absorbance curve at peak pressure was performed between the two groups. Results: The LVAS group included 21 cases (38 ears), and the control group included 27 cases (45 ears). All LVAS subjects met the Valvassori criteria, and the VA at the horizontal semicircular canal displayed flared expansion. On the mean tympanogram, the maximum absorbance in the LVAS group (0.542 ± 0.087) was significantly higher than that in the control group (0.455 ± 0.087) (p < 0.001). The tympanogram in the LVAS group showed an overall elevation, and the absorbance at all pressure sampling points was significantly higher than that in the control group (p < 0.001). The frequency-absorbance curve at peak pressure first increased and then decreased in both groups, and the LVAS group showed higher absorbance than the control group in the frequency range below 2,828 Hz. The absorbance at 343-1,124 Hz was significantly different between the two groups (p < 0.001), and 343-1,124 Hz was the major frequency range at which the maximum absorbance on the mean tympanogram increased in the LVAS group. Conclusion: Large vestibular aqueduct syndrome (LVAS) shows increased absorbance in low and medium frequency ranges in WAI. The maximum absorbance on the mean tympanogram can serve as a reliable evaluation indicator. Inner ear factors must be considered when middle ear lesions are analyzed by WAI.

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a common public health concern. A wide range of functional abnormalities in various brain regions have been reported in fMRI studies on PPD, however, a consistent functional changing pattern is still lacking. Herein, we obtained functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) data from 52 patients with PPD and 24 healthy postpartum women (HPW). Functional indexes (low-frequency fluctuation, degree centrality, and regional homogeneity) were calculated and compared among these groups to explore the functional changing patterns of PPD. Then, correlation analyses were performed to investigate the relationship between changed functional indexes and clinical measurements in the PPD. Finally, support vector machine (SVM) was performed to test whether these abnormal features can be used to distinguish PPD from HPW. As a result, we identified significantly and consistently functional changing pattern characterizing by increased functional activity in the left inferior occipital gyrus and decreased functional activity right anterior cingulate cortex in the PPD as compared to HPW. These functional values in the right anterior cingulate cortex were significantly correlated with depression symptoms in the PPD, and can be used as features to distinguish PPD from HPW. In conclusion, our results suggested that the right anterior cingulate cortex could be served as a functional neuro-imaging biomarker for PPD, which might be used as a potential target for neuro-modulation.

Numerous tubulin-targeted podophyllotoxin congeners have been designed and synthesized to overcome the poor water solubility of podophyllotoxin and improve its pharmaceutical characteristics. Understanding the interaction of tubulin with its downstream signal transduction pathways is important for insights into the role of tubulin in the anticancer action of podophyllotoxin-based conjugates. In this review, we provide a detailed account of recent advances in tubulin targeting-podophyllotoxin derivatives with a focus on their antitumor action and potential molecular signaling pathways directly involved in tubulin depolymerization. Such information will be of benefit to researchers designing and developing anticancer drugs derived from podophyllotoxin. Moreover, we also discuss the associated challenges and future opportunities in this field.

BACKGROUND: Acupuncture may become a treatment for postpartum depression (PPD). Currently, little is known about the use of acupuncture in the treatment of PPD from the point of view of practitioners. The aim of this study was to explore practitioners' perspectives on the treatment of PPD with acupuncture and provide suggestions for future improvement. METHODS: This study employed a qualitative descriptive method. Semistructured, open-ended interviews were conducted with 14 acupuncture practitioners from 7 hospitals via face-to-face or telephone interviews. The data were collected using interview outline from March to May 2022 and analysed using qualitative content analysis. RESULTS: In general, the use of acupuncture for treating PPD was positively regarded by practitioners. They claimed that acupuncture is both safe and helpful for breastfeeding women who are experiencing emotional discomfort and that it can alleviate a variety of somatic symptoms. The following three themes were extracted: (a) patient acceptance and compliance; (b) acupuncture as a treatment for PPD; and (c) the advantages and drawbacks of acupuncture treatment. CONCLUSION: Practitioners' optimistic outlooks demonstrated that acupuncture is a promising treatment option for PPD. However, the time cost was the most significant barrier to compliance. Future development will focus mostly on improving acupuncture equipment and the style of service.

Objective:To investigate the long-term rehabilitation outcomes of children with cochlear implants(CI) and provide constructive guidance for clinical application. Methods:Fifteen children with unilateral CI over 5 years(CI group) were recruited. Ten children with normal hearing were recruited as the healthy control group. The project collected aided sound-field hearing thresholds and speech recognition scores using disyllabic words and C-HINT sentences with and without speech noise for 15 children with unilateral CI. In addition, children's guardians were requested to fill out the Mandarin Parental Perspectives questionnaire(MPP) in order to evaluate the hearing aspects of quality of life. MPP results from the 15 children were then compared with previous responses from 17 unilateral CI children whose overall CI wearing time was one year(CI control group). Results:The aided pure-tone average(PTA) of the recruited children was below 35 dB HL, all children reached 80% for the speech recognition test in a quiet environment, yet their performance decreased in a noisy environment. Regarding the hearing aspects of the MPP questionnaire results, recruited children demonstrated better results than those from CI control group(P<0.05). Speech noise had a significant impact on the recognition rate, and the CI group had higher recognition rate scores in the quiet environment than in the noise environment(two-syllable words t=18.81, P<0.001, short sentences t=16.48, P<0.001). In the comparison of quality of life, in the dimension of "support for children", both the CI group and the CI control group can obtain better benefits, and there is no statistically significant difference between the groups(P>0.05). The CI group benefited more significantly, and the scores were higher than those of the CI control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The long-term hearing outcome of children with CI is adequate for daily communication, but there is still a gap compared with hearing children of the same age, and they still need support from the entire society.

Objective:To investigate the impact of otitis media with effusion(OME) on school-age children regarding their intelligence level and academic performance, providing guidance for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods:A total of 34 school-age children with OME were recruited. Children and their guardians were asked to complete the WISC-R intelligence tests and self-designed questionnaires. Comprehensive otologic and audiologic examinations were also performed. Children were grouped according to the extent of hearing loss and the overall duration of illness, and then correlations with the intelligence tests and questionnaires were analyzed. Results:Single factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis revealed intelligence level and academic performance of children were correlated with their pure tune threshold and duration of illness(P<0.05), while there was no significant difference among the factors within each group(P>0.05). Conclusion:As a common condition in school-age children, OME can adversely affect the hearing and speech of children, and even affect intellectual development and learning ability. Therefore, children should be diagnosed and treated promptly to minimize the impact of hearing loss and other related symptoms on their learning and life.

INTRODUCTION: Non-pharmacological treatments for postpartum depression have been investigated in various systematic reviews, and their efficacy has been evaluated. However, the quality of the evidence as a whole has not been quantified. The quality of this evidence may influence the choice of interventions and even cause misleading clinical decisions. This study aims to provide an objective presentation of the methodological bias and identify treatments supported by solid evidence. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: For the purpose of conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses, a comprehensive search of the relevant published literature will be conducted in English databases such as PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, PsycINFO and Scopus, as well as in four Chinese databases: the Chinese Biomedical Databases (CBM), Wan fang database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure and VIP Database (VIP). The time of publication will be limited from their inception to 31 May 2022. We will extract the following data from the included literature: title, first author, journal type of included literature, number and sample size, intervention/control measures, outcome indicators and main study outcomes. The Assessment of Multiple Systematic Reviews-2 will be used to measure the quality of the methods. In addition, we will use the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement to evaluate the quality of the reporting, as well as the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation to evaluate the quality of the evidence. BACKGROUND: Tea plant (Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze) is an important economic tea crop, but flowering will consume a lot of nutrients of C. sinensis, which will seriously affect the nutritional growth of C. sinensis. However, there are few studies on the development mechanism of C. sinensis flower, and most studies focus on a single C. sinensis cultivar. RESULTS: Here, we identified a 92-genes' C. sinensis flower development core transcriptome from the transcriptome of three C. sinensis cultivars ('BaiYe1', 'HuangJinYa' and 'SuChaZao') in three developmental stages (bud stage, white bud stage and blooming stage). In addition, we also reveal the changes in endogenous hormone contents and the expression of genes related to synthesis and signal transduction during the development of C. sinensis flower. The results showed that most genes of the core transcriptome were involved in circadian rhythm and autonomous pathways. Moreover, there were only a few flowering time integrators, only 1 HD3A, 1 SOC1 and 1 LFY, and SOC1 played a dominant role in the development of C. sinensis flower. Furthermore, we screened out 217 differentially expressed genes related to plant hormone synthesis and 199 differentially expressed genes related to plant hormone signal transduction in C. sinensis flower development stage. CONCLUSIONS: By constructing a complex hormone regulation network of C. sinensis flowering, we speculate that MYC, FT, SOC1 and LFY play key roles in the process of endogenous hormones regulating C. sinensis flowering development. The results of this study can a provide reference for the further study of C. sinensis flowering mechanism.

Adenosine deaminase acting on RNA (ADAR) enzyme-mediated A-to-I RNA editing is widely distributed in the transcriptome. It plays an important role in autoimmune surveillance, tumorigenesis, and development. Recently, several site-directed RNA editing (SDRE) systems have been developed to target disease causative point mutations by flexibly exploiting the catalytic adenosine deamination properties of ADARs. This is based on the fact that A-to-I RNA editing is essentially an adenosine-guanine transition. In contrast to genome editing, RNA editing is tunable and transient, and there are still some shortcomings that need to be addressed. Here, we outline several SDRE systems that rely on the catalytic deamination activity of endogenous or exogenous ADARs, attempting to illustrate their strategies and discuss numerous shortcomings that need to be overcome in the future.

Myringoplasty is a surgical procedure to reconstruct tympanic perforation. However, repair of anterior perforations is still challenging. To analyze the anatomical and hearing outcomes of myringoplasty with a new technique of chondroperichondrial graft via endoscopy, 23 adult patients were retrospectively analyzed. All patients had anterior perforations of tympanic membranes that were repaired with a composite strip-type cartilage-perichondrium graft through a total endoscopic transcanal approach. The anatomical graft success rate at postoperative 1 month was 86.96% (20/23) and reached 100% at the 6- and 12-month follow-up. Compared to the preoperative air conduction threshold (44.7 ± 13.56 dB) and air-bone gap (ABG) (22.35 ± 6.54 dB), the postoperative air conduction threshold and ABG decreased to 33.52 ± 10.88 dB and 12.52 ± 3.94 dB, respectively (P < .0001). Twenty-two (95.65%) patients had an ABG below 20 dB postoperatively. The mean ABG improvement in our cohort was 9.83 ± 5.00 dB. The functional graft success rate was 95.65% (22/23). The convenience, reliability, time, and labor savings accrued from the approach described here make it a good choice for repair of anterior perforation of tympanic membrane.

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to 1) assess the hearing-related Quality of Life (QoL) of children with cochlear implants (CIs) in China and 2) investigate the impact of CI in children and of the socio-demographic backgrounds of their guardians on the hearing-related QoL of children with CIs in the Chinese mainstream education system. METHODS: This study used the Mandarin Children with Cochlear Implants: Parental Perspectives questionnaire (MPP), which assessed the communication capability, auditory perception, self-independence, level of happiness with family, social interaction, academic performance, outcome assessment for CI, and level of family support in children with CIs. Both univariate and multiple linear regression analyses were performed to identify the relationship of CI in children and the socio-demographic backgrounds of their guardians with hearing-related QoL in children with CI. RESULT: A total of 124 responses were collected, and they indicated satisfaction and improvement across all aspects of the MPP Questionnaire. Statistical analysis revealed that an earlier age of cochlear implantation (≤3 years old) could improve the communication capabilities, self-independence, social interaction performance, and academic performance of children with CIs. In addition, children with CI from the urban regions demonstrated better social interaction performance than that by those from the rural regions of China. CONCLUSION: CIs can improve hearing-related QoL in children with pre-lingual or congenital hearing loss entering the mainstream education system in China. This study showed that early age of cochlear implantation was critical for successful long-term auditory development and academic achievement in children with CIs in China. Therefore, healthcare professionals and educators in China should advocate for CI for children with severe congenital or pre-lingual hearing loss.

miR-30b, which is encoded by the gene located on chromosome 8q24.22, plays an important role in a variety of diseases. In most types of tumors, miR-30b significantly inhibits the proliferation, migration, and invasion of cancer cells through the regulation of target genes. Moreover, miR-30b can inhibit the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway through the regulation of EGFR, AKT, Derlin-1, GNA13, SIX1, and other target genes, thus inhibiting the EMT process of tumor cells and promoting apoptosis. In addition, miR-30 plays a significant role in alleviating drug resistance in tumor cells. Although the use of miR-30b as a clinical diagnostic indicator or anticancer drug is still facing great difficulties in the short term, with the deepening of research, the potential application of miR-30b is emerging.
