RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Depression and anxiety are common in patients with decompensated hepatitis B virus (HBV) cirrhosis. This study aimed to evaluate the relieving effects of the jiao-tune of 5-element music on negative emotions in patients with decompensated HBV cirrhosis. METHODS: The patients were randomly allocated into the control group (standard nursing care) and the jiao-tune group (standard nursing care plus a 2-month course of music therapy with the jiao-tune of 5-element music). The negative emotions of patients were assessed before intervention treatment and at the end of the 2-month follow-up using the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS). RESULTS: The analysis included 209 patients, with 102 in the control group and 107 in the jiao-tune group, all of whom returned their completed questionnaires. Baseline clinical characteristics and length of hospital stay were comparable between 2 groups. Before intervention treatment, there were no significant differences in SAS score (55.78 ±â€…5.64 vs 56.47 ±â€…3.28) and SDS score (65.13 ±â€…3.12 vs 64.48 ±â€…4.47) between the jiao-tune group and control group. After 2-month follow-up, the jiao-tune group had a significantly lower SAS score (53.17 ±â€…5.61) and SDS score (61.28 ±â€…1.52) compared with the control group (55.49 ±â€…3.37 and 63.08 ±â€…2.76), there were significant differences between 2 groups (P < .001). CONCLUSIONS: The jiao-tune of 5-element music can relieve the negative emotions in patients with decompensated HBV cirrhosis.

RESUMO

T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is an aggressive hematological malignancy that commonly affects children and adolescents with a poor prognosis. The terminal unfolded protein response (UPR) is an emerging anti-cancer approach, although its role in pediatric T-ALL remains unclear. In our pediatric T-ALL cohort from different centers, a lower QRICH1 expression was found associated with a worse prognosis of pediatric T-ALL. Overexpression of QRICH1 significantly inhibited cell proliferation and stimulated apoptosis of T-ALL both in vitro and in vivo. Upregulation of QRICH1 significantly downregulated 78 KDa glucose-regulated protein (GRP78) and upregulated CHOP, thus activating the terminal UPR. Co-overexpression of GRP78 in T-ALL cells overexpressing QRICH1 partially reverted the inhibited proliferation and stimulated apoptosis. QRICH1 bound to the residues Asp212 and Glu155 of the nucleotide-binding domain (NBD) of GRP78, thereby inhibiting its ATP hydrolysis activity. In addition, QRICH1 was associated with endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in T-ALL, and overexpression of QRICH1 reversed drug resistance. Overall, low QRICH1 expression is an independent risk factor for a poor prognosis of pediatric T-ALL. By inhibiting GRP78, QRICH1 suppresses pediatric T-ALL.

RESUMO

Neuroblastoma (NB) is one of the most common extracranial solid tumors in children. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been shown to be involved in the development of NB. However, the function of circ_0132817 in NB is currently unclear. In this paper, the levels of circ_0132817 and NOL4L were induced in NB tissues and cells, and miR-432-5p expression was on the contrary. MiR-432-5p was verified as a target of circ_0132817 and miR-432-5p could bind to NOL4L. The inhibitory effects of miR-432-5p overexpression on cell proliferation, migration, invasion and glycolysis could be reversed by circ_0132817 facilitation. The suppression of NOL4L knockdown on NB cells progression could be rescued by miR-432-5p inhibition. Besides, knockdown of circ_0132817 repressed tumor growth in vivo. Thus, we came to a conclusion that circ_0132817 promoted the tumorigenesis of NB cells by up-regulating NOL4L and acting as a sponge for miR-432-5p.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the related factors affecting the nosopoiesis of childhood acute leukemia from the perspective of indoor environmental exposure, behavior and lifestyle. METHODS: The clinical data of 64 children with acute leukemia were retrospectively analyzed, and 50 healthy children were selected as the control group during the same period. The basic data of children, indoor environment, behavior and lifestyle of parents in 2 groups were recorded. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to analyze the related factors affecting the incidence of childhood acute leukemia, and the OR (95%CI) value was calculated. RESULTS: The unvariate analysis showed that the daily wine-drinking rate of father and pesticide use rate in acute leukemia group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that indoor ventilation during summer sleep of children (OR=0.35, 95%CI: 0.14-0.88) and contact with other children before 3 years old (OR=0.34, 95%CI: 0.18-0.65) were protective factors for provention of childhood acute leukemia (P<0.05). Mothers had a history of exposure to chemical substances (OR=3.68, 95%CI: 1.64-8.27), and children had a history of exposure to chemical substances (OR=3.84, 95%CI: 1.64-9.01), family had internal decoration history after child birth (OR = 1.38, 95%CI: 1.05-1.81) and family uses of pesticides (OR=2.17, 95%CI: 1.08-4.36), all these factors were independent risk factors for acute leukemia (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Indoor environmental exposure, behavior and lifestyle of children and parents may be closely related with the nosopoiesis of childhood acute leukemia.
