RESUMO

A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, motile with flagella and rod- or ovoid-shaped bacterium, designated GG15T, was isolated from tidal flat sediment sampled in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province. Strain GG15T grew at 20-40 °C (optimum, 30 °C), at pH 5.5-9.5 (optimum, pH 7.0-8.0) and with 1.0-10.0 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1.5 %). Colony diameters ranged from 1 to 3 mm within the first week, reaching a maximum of 6-7 mm after 15 days of cultivation. Strain GG15T exhibited highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to Microbulbifer taiwanensis CCM 7856T (98.1 %), with similarity to other species within the genus Microbulbifer ranging from 97.8 to 93.8 %. Similarity values to other genera were below 93.8 %. Strain GG15T exhibited positive activity for ß-glucosidase, trypsin and chymotrypsin, whereas the reference strain showed negative activity. Chemotaxonomic analyses indicated that strain GG15T contained Q-8 as the sole respiratory quinone, C16 : 0 (9.1 %), iso-C15 : 0 (30.9 %) and iso-C11 : 0 3-OH (7.2 %) as the predominant fatty acids, and phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, three unidentified lipids, four unidentified glycolipids, one unidentified phospholipid, two unidentified aminolipids and two unidentified aminophospholipids as the main polar lipids. The genome of strain GG15T was 4 307 641 bp long, comprising 3861 protein-coding genes. The G+C content of strain GG15T was 61.5 mol% based on its genomic sequence. Strain GG15T showed low digital DNA-DNA hybridization (<70 %) and average nucleotide identity values (<95 %) with other Microbulbifer species. As a result, a novel species within the genus Microbulbifer, named Microbulbifer magnicolonia sp. nov., is proposed. The type strain is GG15T (MCCC 1K08802T=KCTC 8210T).

China. Strain ZC22-4T grows optimally at 37-40 °C and pH 7.0 in the presence of 1% (w/v) NaCl or 2.0% (w/v) sea salts. It contained C16:0 (25.9%), C14:0 (13.6%), and C16:1 cis 9 (10.6%) as the dominant cellular fatty acid (> 10%). Polar lipids include phosphatidylglycerol (PG), diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), one unidentified phospholipid (PL), two unidentified glycolipids (GL), three unidentified amino phosphoglycolipids (APGL1-3), one unidentified aminoglycolipid (AGL), and one unidentified lipid (L). The genomic DNA G + C content of ZC22-4T was 28.7%. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain ZC22-4T belonged to the genus Clostridium and formed a clade with the most closely related Clostridium aestuarii HY-45-18T (96.3%), Clostridium ganghwense HY-42-06T (95.9%). The average nucleotide identity and DNA-DNA hybridization values among the genomes of strain ZC22-4T and C. aestuarii HY-45-18T and C. ganghwense HY-42-06T were 75.7% and 77.3%, 21.7% and 23.0%, respectively. Based on the phenotypic, phylogenetic, and genetic data, strain ZC22-4T represents a novel species in the Clostridium cluster I, for which the name Clostridium brassicae sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is ZC22-4T (= MCCC 1K07510T = JCM 35370T).

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have specific palliative care needs owing to the influence of the disease on abdominal pain, jaundice, bleeding, appetite, ascites, liver function and hepatic encephalopathy. This research would help develop care models and identify knowledge gaps in the field. AIMS: To identify the palliative care needs and experiences of patients with advanced HCC. METHODS: CINAHL, EMBASE and MEDLINE were used to search English literature from January 1998 to March 2022 for 'Palliative care' and 'Hepatocellular cancer' using precise inclusion and exclusion criteria. RESULTS: The retrieves identified 2710 records, including 33 studies used in our research. Two additional studies were grey items. Among 35 studies, 13 studies were performed in Asia, 11 studies in North America, 8 studies in Europe and 3 studies in Australia. Quantitative investigations were mostly descriptive or observational. Eight studies were conducted on a national scale, while two were in specific regions. 20 studies were conducted by a single institution. 22 studies focused only on patients, 2 on family caregivers and 2 on healthcare professionals. 2 more studies concentrated on patients and family caregivers, while 6 concentrated on patients and healthcare professionals. CONCLUSIONS: This scoping study illustrates the complexity of advanced HCC treatment and challenges in modern healthcare systems. Formulating appropriate referral criteria, integrating and coordinating care, and assessing care contents are crucial. To enhance the treatment of patients with advanced HCC, it is important to understand the relationships between research and service design across teams, disciplines and care settings.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate whether the neuropsin pathway in the amygdala and stomach may participate in the development of anxiety-related gastric hypersensitivity, and whether electroacupuncture (EA) at the Zusanli acupoint could improve this condition by regulating such pathway in the rat model of functional dyspepsia (FD). METHODS: A total of 48 SD rats were randomly divided into the control group, FD model group and FD + EA group (stimulation at Zusanli acupoint for 30 min daily for 7 consecutive days). Abdominal withdrawal reflex (AWR) score and open field test were used to evaluate visceral hypersensitivity and anxiety-like disorder, respectively. Electrical activity in the amygdala nucleus in each group was recorded by extracellular electrophysiology. Neuropsin and serpinb6 protein expressions in the amygdala and stomach were detected by Western blot. RESULTS: AWR score in the FD group increased but did not differ after EA therapy than that in the contro group. Both the center square entries and center entries ratio in the FD group were lower than those in the control and FD + EA groups. The total number and frequency of amygdala nucleus discharges induced by gastric distension in the FD group were significantly higher than those in the control and FD + EA groups. Expression of neuropsin increased and that of serpinb6 decreased in the gastric mucosa and amygdale in the FD group, while no change was observed in gastric mucosa after EA therapy. CONCLUSION: EA stimulation at the Zusanli acupoint may improve visceral hypersensitivity and anxiety in FD rats through the neuropsin/serpinb6 pathway.

RESUMO

Though the chloroplast genomes of several Vanda species have been sequenced, there is little information about the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of Vanda coerulescens. Herein, we established the cp genome of V. coerulescens. The chloroplast genome circle was 149,410 bp in length, with the structure of an 85,954 bp large single-copy (LSC) region and a 11,526 bp small single-copy (SSC) region, which separated by two inverted repeat (IRs) regions of 25,965 bp. It encoded 130 genes, including 74 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes and 8 rRNA genes. The overall GC-content of the whole plastome is 36.7%, whereas the corresponding values of the LSC, SSC, and IR regions ranged from 28.2% to 43.1%. In addition, the phylogenetic analysis base on 20 chloroplast genomes of Orchidaceae indicates that V. brunnea is closely related to V. coerulescens. This announcement of the complete V. coerulescens cp genome sequence could provide valuable information for further genetic modification and phylogenetic study in Vanda genus.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the levels of chemokines 8 and 10 (CXCL8 and CXCL10), Th1 cytokines (IL-2, IL-12 and IFN-γ) and Th2 cytokines (IL-6 and IL-10) in the serum and cerebrospinal fluid of patients with neurosyphilis and elucidate their roles in the immune response and pathogenesis of neurosyphilis. METHODS: Using ELISA, we detected the expressions of CXCL8, CXCL10, IL2, IL-2, IFN-γ, IL-6 and IL-10 in the serum and cerebrospinal fluid of 42 cases of neurosyphilis, 44 cases of syphilis and 40 cases of non-inflammatory diseases of the nervous system (the control group). RESULTS: The serum levels of CXCL8, CXCL10, IL-2, IL-12, IFN-γ, IL-6 and IL-10 were significantly lower in the neurosyphilis group than in the syphilis and control groups (P < 0.05), and so were they in the male than in the female neurosyphilis patients (P < 0.05). However, the expressions of CXCL8, CXCL10, IL-2, IL-12, IFN-γ, IL-6 and IL-10 in the cerebrospinal fluid were remarkably higher in the neurosyphilis group than in the syphilis and control groups (P < 0.05), and so were they in the male than in the female neurosyphilis patients (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Patients with neurosyphilis have cellular immune dysfunction, and their immune response involves CXCL8, CXCL10 and Th1 / Th2 cytokines.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The performance of lung cancer screening with low-dose computed tomography (CT) (LDCT) in China is uncertain. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of LDCT lung cancer screening in the Chinese setting. METHODS: In 2014, a screening cohort of lung cancer with LDCT was established in Gejiu, Yunnan Province, a screening center of the Lung Cancer Screening Program in Rural China (LungSPRC). Participants received a baseline screening and four rounds of annual screening with LDCT in two local hospitals until June 2019. We analyzed the rates of participation, detection, early detection, and the clinical characteristics of lung cancer. RESULTS: A total of 2006 participants had complete baseline screening results with a compliance rate of 98.4%. Of these, 1411 were high-risk and 558 were nonhigh-risk participants. During this period, 40 lung cancer cases were confirmed, of these, 35 were screen-detected, four were post-screening and one was an interval case. The positive rate of baseline and annual screening was 9.7% and 9.0%, while the lung cancer detection rate was 0.4% and 0.6%, respectively. The proportion of early lung cancer increased from 37.5% in T0 to 75.0% in T4. Adenocarcinoma was the most common histological subtype. Lung cancer incidence according to the criteria of LungSPRC and National Lung Cancer Screening Trial (NLST) was 513.31 and 877.41 per 100 000 person-years, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The program of lung cancer screening with LDCT showed a successful performance in Gejiu, Yunnan. However, further studies are warranted to refine a high-risk population who will benefit most from LDCT screening and reduce the high false positive results. KEY POINTS: This study reports the results of lung cancer screening with LDCT in Gejiu, Yunnan, a high-risk area of lung cancer, and it demonstrates that lung cancer screening with LDCT is effective in detecting early-stage lung cancer. Our program provides an opportunity to explore the performance of LDCT lung cancer screening in the Chinese context.

RESUMO

A Gram-stain-negative, motile, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium with flagella, designated ZX-21T, was isolated from surface seawater of the East Sea in Zhoushan, China. Growth of strain ZX-21T was observed at 10--35 o°C (optimum, 30 °C), at pH 6.0-8.5 (pHoptimum 6.5-7.0) and in the presence of 0.5-8 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum 3-4 %). It was positive for oxidase and catalase activity. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain ZX-21T constituted an independent lineage within the family Spongiibacteraceae and was most closely related to Zhongshania guokunii (96.83 %). Strain ZX-21T contained ubiquinone-8 (Q-8) as the sole isoprenoid quinone and summed feature 3 (C16 : 1ω77c and/or C16 : 1ω66c), summed feature 8 (C18 : 1ω77c and/or C18 : 1ω66c) and C16 : 0 as the major fatty acids. Phosphatidylglycerol (), phosphatidylethanolamine (), diphosphatidylglycerol () and an unidentified glycolipid were the major cellular polar lipids. The DNA G+C content was 49.1 mol%. Based on itsthe morphological, physiological and chemotaxonomic characteristics, strain ZX-21Tis described as a novel species in a novel genus for whichwith the name Marortus luteolus gen. nov., sp. nov. (type strain ZX-21T = MCCC 1K03431T=KCTC 62160T) is proposed.

RESUMO

A novel Gram-stain-negative, motile, rod-shaped (0.4-0.5×1.0-2.0 µm) strain with one polar flagellum, designated SY39T, was isolated from seawater in Sanya, China. Strain SY39T was able to grow at 15-40 °C (optimum, 35-37 °C), pH 6.5-8.5 (pH 8.0) and 0.5-6.0 % (w/v) NaCl (3.5 %). Chemotaxonomic analysis showed that the isoprenoid quinones were Q-8 (88.6 %) and Q-7 (11.4 %). The dominant fatty acids were C16 : 0 and summed feature 3 (C16 : 1ω7c/C16 : 1ω6c). The polar lipids of strain SY39T consisted of diphosphatidyglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, one unknown phosphoglycolipid, one unknown glycolipid and two unknown aminophosphoglycolipids. The DNA G+C content of the genomic DNA was 66.5 mol%. The phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain SY39T belongs to the genus Azoarcus with similarity ranging from 92.3 to 95.2 %. Based on the phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic features, strain SY39T is concluded to represent a novel species of the genus Azoarcus, for which the name Azoarcus pumilus sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is SY39T (=KCTC 62157T=MCCC 1K03430T).

RESUMO

Two Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic, non-motile, non-spore-forming, rod-shaped bacteria, designated as SY3-15Tand SY3-13, were isolated from a seawater sample of the South China Sea. Colonies were 0.5-1.0 mm in diameter, smooth, circular, convex and translucent after growth on marine agar at 37 °C for 3 days. The strains were found to grow at 20-50 °C (optimum, 42 °C), pH 6.0-8.5 (optimum, pH 6.5-7.5) and with 0.5-6.0 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1.5-2.0 %). Chemotaxonomic analysis showed the sole respiratory quinone to be ubiquinone-10, the major fatty acids (>10 %) were C16 : 0 3-OH, C19 : 0cyclo ω9c, C18 : 1 3-OH and summed feature 8 (C18 : 1ω7c and/or C18 : 1ω6c), and the polar lipids were phosphatidylglycerol, two unidentified aminolipids and three unidentified lipids. The DNA G+C content was 67.2-67.4 mol% calculated by genome. The 16S rRNA gene sequences of strains SY3-15T and SY3-13 were identical and related to the genus Lutibaculum with a similarity of 92.1 %. The 16S rRNA gene phylogenetic trees reconstructed with neighbour-joining, maximum-parsimony and minimum-evolution methods showed that the strains constituted a deep and separated branch from other families of Alphaproteobacteria, and the phylogenetic trees based on concatenated 163 protein sequences from genome sequences showed that the clade in which strains SY3-15T and SY3-13 located was separated from the clade of the other orders of Alphaproteobacteria, indicating it may represent a novel family of a novel order. Based on their phenotypic properties and their phylogenetic distinctiveness, we propose strains SY3-15T (=MCCC 1K03467T=KCTC 62335T) and SY3-13 (=MCCC 1K03466=KCTC 62329) to represent a novel species of a novel genus with the name Minwuia thermotolerans gen. nov., sp. nov., and we propose Minwuiaceae fam. nov. and Minwuiales ord. nov. with Minwuia as the type genus.

RESUMO

A Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped, non-motile, bacterial isolate designated 3BT, was isolated from a saline lake, and subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic investigation. The phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence clearly showed an allocation to the genus Confluentibacter with similarity ranging from 95.1 to 98%. OrthoANI values between strain 3BT and related strains of Confluentibacter (< 90%) were lower than the threshold value of 95% ANI relatedness recommended for species demarcation. Strain 3BT grew at 4-35 °C and pH 6.0-8.0 (optimum, 28 °C and pH 6.5) and with 0-3% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 0.5%). The predominant respiratory quinone was menaquinone-6 (MK-6) and the major fatty acids were iso-C15:0, iso-C15:1 G, iso-C15:0 3-OH, and iso-C17:0 3-OH. The polar lipid profile of strain 3BT comprised phosphatidylethanolamine, one unidentified aminolipid, one aminophospholipid, and three unidentified lipids (L1-3). The DNA G+C content was 33.1 mol%. On the basis of morphological, physiological, and chemotaxonomic characteristics, together with the results of phylogenetic analysis, strain 3BT is described as a novel species in genus Confluentibacter, for which the name Confluentibacter flavum sp. nov. (type strain 3BT = CGMCC115960T = KCTC52969T) is proposed.

RESUMO

A Gram-negative, aerobic, motile, rod-shaped, pale-yellow bacterial strain, designated as ZYLT, isolated from a cultured in situ sediment sample collected from the East China Sea coast, was studied using a polyphasic taxonomic approach. Strain ZYLT grew at 4-30 °C (optimum, 25 °C), at pH 6.0-8.5 (pH 7.0) and with 0-7.0 % (w/v) NaCl (2.0 %). Results of phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences clearly showed that strain ZYLT and Emcibacter nanhaiensis HTCJW17T, which was most closely related to strain ZYLT with 93.6 % sequence similarity, clustered together. The genomic DNA G+C content was 51.5 % (genome sequence). The quinone system was composed only of ubiquinone-10. Strain ZYLT possessed C18 : 1ω7c and/or C18 : 1ω6c (summed feature 8), iso-C15 : 0 2-OH and/or C16 : 1ω7c (summed feature 3), C14 : 0 2-OH and C14 : 0 as the major fatty acids. The content of summed feature 3 (iso-C15 : 0 2-OH and/or C16 : 1ω7c) in strain ZYLT was far greater than that in E. nanhaiensis. The polar lipid profile consisted of phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, three unidentified aminophospholipids, three unidentified phospholipids, one unidentified aminolipid and four unidentified lipids. One unidentified aminophospholipid and two unidentified lipids present in strain ZYLT were not found in E. nanhaiensis in this research. On the basis of phenotypic, phylogenetic and chemotaxonomic data, strain ZYLT (=KCTC 62328T=JCM 32378T=MCCC 1K03526T) represents a novel species of the genus Emcibacter for which the name Emcibacter congregatus sp. nov. is proposed.

RESUMO

A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterial strain, designated ZYSR67-ZT, was isolated from a pharmaceutical wastewater sample collected from a chemical factory in Zhejiang, China. The strain was motile by a single polar flagellum and grew at 4-42 °C (optimum, 35 °C), pH 5.0-9.0 (optimum, 6.0) and 0-5.0% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 2.0%). Based on multilocus sequence analysis using 16S rRNA, gyrB, rpoB and rpoD, the strain ZYSR67-ZT formed a distinct phylogenetic group in the genus Pseudomonas. The average nucleotide identity values between strain ZYSR67-ZT and the closely related 10 type strains of the Pseudomonas species were 75.8-78.6%. The in silico DNA-DNA hybridization values indicated that strain ZYSR67-ZT and the type strains of the Pseudomonas shared 21.4-23.1% DNA relatedness. The predominant isoprenoid quinone system was ubiquinone-9 while ubiquinone-8 was present in trace amounts. The major fatty acids (> 10%) identified were C12:0, C16:0, C18:1 ω7c and summed features 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or iso-C15:0 2OH). The major polar lipids consisted of phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol and diphosphatidylglycerol. The genomic DNA G+C content was 62.6 mol%. On the basis of morphological, physiological and chemotaxonomic characteristics, together with the results of phylogenetic analysis, strain ZYSR67-ZT was proposed to represent a novel species of the genus Pseudomonas, named Pseudomonas pharmafabricae sp. nov.. The type strain is ZYSR67-ZT (= CGMCC 1.15498T = JCM 31306T).

RESUMO

A Gram-stain-negative, non-motile, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium, designated 15182T, was isolated from a saline lake in China. The novel strain 15182T was able to grow at 10-40 °C (optimum, 37 °C), pH 7.0-8.0 (optimum, 7.5) and with 0.5-4 % NaCl (optimum, 2-3 %, w/v). The phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain 15182T was most closely related to the genus Rhodohalobacter by sharing the highest sequence similarity of 97.0 % with Rhodohalobacter halophilus JZ3C29T. Chemotaxonomic analysis showed that the sole respiratory quinone was menaquinone 7, the major fatty acids included C16 : 0 N alcohol and C16 : 1ω11c. The major polar lipids included diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, four uncharacterized glycolipids, one uncharacterized phospholipid and two uncharacterized lipids. The genomic DNA G+C content of the strain 15182T was 42.4 mol%. The average nucleotide identity value between 15182T and R. halophilus JZ3C29T was 75.4 %, and the in silico DNA-DNA hybridization value of the two strains was 19.1 %. On the basis of its phenotypic, chemotaxonomic, genotypic and genomic characteristics presented in this study, strain 15182T is suggested to represent a novel species in the genus Rhodohalobacter, for which the name Rhodohalobacter barkolensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is 15182T (=KCTC 62172T=MCCC 1K03442T). An emended description of the genus Rhodohalobacter is also presented.

RESUMO

A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-motile and ovoid- to rod-shaped bacterial strain, designated TFZT, was isolated from a water sample of a saline lake in Xinjiang, China and subjected to polyphasic taxonomic investigation. Strain TFZT grew at 4-42 °C and pH 6.5-10.0 (optimum, 30 °C and pH 7.0) and with 0.5-18.0 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1.5 %). According to phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences, strain TFZT was assigned to the genus Roseovarius with highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity of 97.5 % to Roseovarius tolerans EL-172T, followed by Roseovarius azorensis SSW084T (96.6 %) and Roseovarius mucosus DSM 17069T (95.5 %). Digital DNA-DNA hybridization (DDH) and average nucleotide identity (ANI) were determined to evaluate the genomic relationship between strain TFZT and R. tolerans EL-172T. Digital DDH estimation (22.80±2.35 %) as well as ANI (80.1 %) proved the dissimilarity of strain TFZT. Chemotaxonomic analysis showed that strain TFZT contained ubiquinone-10 as the predominant respiratory quinone and possessed summed feature 8 (comprising C18 : 1 ω7c and/or ω6c) and C16 : 0 as the predominant form of fatty acid. The polar lipids of strain TFZT consisted of phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylcholine and five unidentified lipids. The DNA G+C content was 65.4 mol% (by genome sequencing). Based on the polyphasic taxonomic characterization, strain TFZT is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Roseovarius, for which the name Roseovarius nitratireducens sp. nov. is proposed (type strain TFZT=MCCC 1K03339T=KCTC 52967T).

RESUMO

In this study, we analyzed the physical interactions of the dominant negative isoform of MoYpt7. Our results show that MoYpt7 interacts with MoGdi1. The dominant negative isoform of MoYpt7 (dominant negative isoform, N125I) is essential for colony morphology, conidiation, and pathogenicity in the rice blast fungus. These results further demonstrate the biological functions of MoYpt7 in Magnaporthe oryzae.

RESUMO

A Gram-stain negative, aerobic, motile and ovoid- to rod-shaped bacteria strain, designated XC0140T, was isolated from soil samples near the sewage treatment tank of a chemical factory in Zhejiang Province, China, and subjected to polyphasic taxonomic investigation. Strain XC0140T grew at 10-37 °C and pH 6.0-9.0 (optimum, 35 °C and pH 7.5) and with 0-17% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1%). According to phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences, strain XC0140T was assigned to the genus Pararhizobium with high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity of 95.97% to "Pararhizobium helanshanense CCNWQTX14T", followed by Pararhizobium sphaerophysae CCNWGS0238T (95.95%). Chemotaxonomic analysis showed that strain XC0140T contains ubiquinone-10 as the predominant respiratory quinone and possessed summed feature 8 (comprising C18: 1 ω7c and/or ω6c), 11-methyl C18:1 ω7c, C18: 0 and C16: 0 as predominant forms of fatty acids. The polar lipids of strain XC0140T consisted of seven phospholipids (PL), two aminolipids (AL), one glycolipid (GL) and three unidentified lipids (L1, L2 and L3). The DNA G+C content was 62.7 mol%. Based on the polyphasic taxonomic characterization, strain XC0140T is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Pararhizobium, for which the name Pararhizobium haloflavum sp. nov. is proposed. (type strain XC0140T = MCCC 1K03228T = KCTC 52582T).

RESUMO

A Gram-staining-negative, aerobic, non-spore-forming, coccoid to rod shaped bacteria with prosthecate and flagellum, designated as HSF6T, was isolated from deep seawater samples collected from the South China Sea at depth of 2.5 km and subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic investigation. Colonies of strain HSF6T were 1-2 mm in diameter, smooth, circular, convex and yellow. Strain HSF6T was found to grow at 15-37 °C (optimum, 25-35 °C), pH 5.0-9.5 (optimum, pH 7.0-7.5) and with 0-8 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 2 %). Chemotaxonomic analysis showed the predominant respiratory quinone of strains HSF6T were ubiquinone-10, and the major fatty acids were C18 : 1ω7c, C16 : 0 and 11-methyl C18 : 1ω7c. The polar lipids were monoglycosyldiglyceride (MGDG), sulfo-quinovosyl diacylglycerol (SQDG), three unknown glycolipids (GL1-3) and five unknown lipids (L1-5). The DNA G+C content of strain HSF6T was determined to be 51.0 mol% with HPLC. The comparison of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities show that strain HSF6T was related most closely to genus Parvularcula with similarity ranging from 91.0 to 91.8 %. The phylogenetic trees, using the 16S rRNA gene sequence, reconstructed with neighbour-joining, maximum-parsimony and maximum-likelihood methods showed that strain HSF6T constituted a separated branch in the family 'Parvularculaceae'. Differential phenotypic properties, together with the phylogenetic distinctiveness, demonstrated that strain HSF6T is clearly distinct from validly published genera. On the basis of these features, we propose strain HSF6T (=MCCC 1K03223T=KCTC 52486T) represents a novel species of a novel genus with the name Hyphococcus flavus gen. nov., sp. nov.

RESUMO

A gram-stain-negative, aerobic, ovoid or short rod-shaped, and non-motile strain, designed G7T was isolated from a tidal flat sample collected from the coast of East Sea in Zhoushan, China. Strain G7T grew at 4-40 °C and pH 6.0-9.0 (optimum, 28 °C and pH 7.5) and with 0-7% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1%). The predominant respiratory quinone was Q-10 and the major fatty acids (>10%) identified were C18:1 ω7c, C16:0 and summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c). The polar lipids of strain G7T consisted of phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylcholine, and four unidentified lipids. The genomic DNA G+C content was 56.7 mol%. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain G7T formed a distinct lineage belonging to the Roseobacter clade of the family Rhodobacteraceae. On the basis of morphological, physiological, and chemotaxonomic characteristics, together with the results of phylogenetic analysis, strain G7T is described as a novel species in a new genus, for which the name Aestuarium zhoushanense gen. nov., sp. nov. (type strain G7T = MCCC 1K03229T = KCTC 52584T) is proposed.
