Phyllophorus proteus is a low-value sea cucumber from Indonesia and other tropical peripheral waters. In this study, a fucosylated glycosaminoglycan (FG) was extracted from P. proteus. It consists of GlcA, GalNAc, and Fuc, with a molecular weight of 67.1 kDa. The degraded FG (dFG) was prepared by ß-elimination. Structural analysis revealed that the main chain of dFG was composed of GalNAc and GlcA, linked alternately by ß1,3 and ß1,4 glycosidic bonds. The sulfate group was located at the 4 and 6 positions of GalNAc. Fuc was attached to the 3 position of GlcA by an α1,3 glycosidic bond, and the side chain of Fuc exhibited various sulfate substitutions. FG significantly prolonged the coagulation time of APTT, PT, TT, and FIB, surpassing the effect of LMWH, thereby demonstrating its ability to exert anticoagulant effects in both the endogenous and exogenous coagulation pathways. Conversely, dFG had no significant effect on the clotting time of PT, suggesting its lack of impact on the intrinsic coagulation pathway. This study elucidates the structural properties and potent anticoagulant activities of fucosylated glycosaminoglycan from P. proteus.

BACKGROUND: Foetal growth restriction (FGR) occurs when a foetus fails to reach its growth potential. This observational study assessed the expression and significance of cell migration-including protein (CEMIP) and aldosterone synthase (CYP11B2) in the serum of pregnant women with FGR. METHODS: 40 singleton FGR-suffered pregnant women, as well as 40 normal singleton pregnant women, were enrolled. The expression of CEMIP and CYP11B2 in serum was detected in early pregnancy. The correlations between parameters were evaluated. The predictive variables for FGR were determined. The diagnostic value of CEMIP and CYP11B2 for FGR was analysed. RESULTS: CEMIP and CYP11B2 mRNA expression in the serum of pregnant women with FGR decreased (both P < 0.001). CEMIP (95%CI: 0.802-0.921, P < 0.001) and CYP11B2 (95%CI: 0.795-0.907, P < 0.001) mRNA expression in serum and soluble fms like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFLT1)/placental growth factor (PlGF) ratio (95%CI: 0.866-0.974, P < 0.001) were independent predictors of FGR, and CEMIP (r = -0.578, P = 0.001) and CYP11B2 (r = -0.602, P < 0.001) mRNA expression in serum were negatively correlated with sFLT1/PlGF ratio. CEMIP (AUC = 0.741) and CYP11B2 (AUC = 0.764) mRNA expression in serum had good diagnostic value for FGR. CONCLUSION: The expression of CEMIP and CYP11B2 is reduced in the serum of pregnant women with FGR and may become new diagnostic markers for FGR.


Foetal growth restriction is the inability of the foetus to reach its growth potential in the uterus due to various factors. This study aimed to investigate the expression and significance of cell migration-including protein and aldosterone synthase in serum of pregnant women with foetal growth restriction. In our study, we found that the expression of cell migration-including protein and aldosterone synthase in serum of pregnant women with foetal growth restriction were decreased. Cell migration-including protein and aldosterone synthase expression was negatively correlated with soluble fms like tyrosine kinase-1/placental growth factor ratio. In addition, the study also found that cell migration-including protein and aldosterone synthase expression in serum had good diagnostic value for foetal growth restriction.

Protein lactylation has a poor prognosis in malignant tumors, but its impact on the prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) remains unknown. We analyzed 112 patients with EOC. Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the level of pan lactylation (Pan Kla) and histone H3K18 lactylation (H3K18la) in the EOC tissues and normal ovarian tissues. The result showed that the protein lactylation level in EOC was higher than in normal tissues. Then, we analyzed the relationship between overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS) of EOC, and lactylation. The result showed that patients with high histone H3K18la levels had poorer OS (p=0.028) and PFS (p<0.001). Multivariate Cox regression analysis of PFS showed histone H3K18la was an independent risk factor (p=0.001). In addition, we found that both histone H3K18la and Pan Kla in the cytoplasm were associated with platinum recurrence time (p=0.002/p=0.003). The results also indicated that the H3K18la level was related to a tumor stage (p=0.037). Furthermore, we explored the effects of lactylation on the metastasis of ovarian cancer. The results indicated a significant increase in migration in the promoter group compared to the negative control group and inhibitor group. In conclusion, high histone H3K18la level is associated with poor prognosis in EOC. Protein lactylation may have a significant impact on EOC and could potentially be used as a target for EOC therapy in the future.

Cryogenic detection technology is essential to ensure safety and effectiveness in fields such as medical refrigeration, cold chain transport, and cryogenic bioengineering. In this paper, a time-responsive visual cryogenic detection strategy is developed based on the storage properties of CaZnOS: Pb2+, Pr3+ phosphors with shallow traps. Since the carrier release rate from the trap center receives the influence of ambient temperature and storage time, the storage time of the temperature-sensitive product can be determined by the different optical signals of CaZnOS: Pb2+, Pr3+ phosphors obtained under 980 nm laser irradiation. In addition, CaZnOS: Pb2+, Pr3+ phosphors with multimode luminescence enable time-responsive visual detection of ambient temperature under extreme conditions. This work not only demonstrates the potential of CaZnOS: Pb2+, Pr3+ phosphors for visual detection of temperature and time but also paves the way for the development of various applications relying on cryogenic monitoring.

The development of a reversal agent that can rapidly reverse clinically used nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) has long been a challenge. Here, we report the synthesis of a series of highly water-soluble acyclic cucurbit[n]urils (acCBs). Systematic structure-activity relationship studies reveal that introducing two propylidene units on the peripheral benzene rings not only remarkably improves the activity of the corresponding derivative acCB6 (FY 3451) in reversing the neuromuscular block of rocuronium, cisatracurium, vecuronium, and pancuronium, the four clinically used NMBAs, through stable inclusion, but also allows for high water-solubility as well as a maximum tolerated dose (2000 mg/kg on rats). In vivo experiments with rats show that, at the identical dose of 25 mg/kg, for rocuronium, vecuronium, and pancuronium, acCB6 can achieve a recovery time shorter than that of sugammadex for rocuronium and, at the dose of 100 mg/kg, realize comparably rapid reversal for cisatracurium.

Chlorella pyrenoidosa (C. pyrenoidosa) has been cultivated in large quantities and proven to be antihypertensive when consumed orally. However, the antihypertensive peptides derived from C. pyrenoidosa remains scarce. In this study, trypsin was chosen to prepare the hydrolysate of C. pyrenoidosa, which was then fractionated by column chromatography. And ninety-nine peptides were identified by LC-MS/MS, after which 10 peptides were chosen by docking-based virtual screening and demonstrated their ability to inhibit ACE. Among them, LVAKA (LV-5) had the lowest IC50 (26.66 µM). LV-5, LKKAP, and PGLRP were identified as non-competitive ACE inhibitory peptides with significant stability under extreme pH and high temperatures conditions. Both in silico and in-vitro simulated gastrointestinal digestion revealed that these three peptides could release ACE inhibitory peptide fragments upon digestion. Sequence optimization of LV-5 led to the discovery of LRAKA (LR-5), which was identified as a novel nanomolar ACE peptide with an IC50 of 350 nM in-vitro and a potent antihypertensive peptide in-vivo. Moreover, molecular dynamic simulation indicated that LR-5 interacted with an unconventional binding site on ACE. These findings underscore the potential of Chlorella as a source of antihypertensive peptides and suggest a promising future for the use of Chlorella-derived peptides in hypertension management.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to examine the individual and combined associations between dietary habits and lifestyle factors concerning all-cause mortality and stroke in Chinese adults. METHOD: We conducted a nationwide, multicenter, prospective cohort study involving 10,008 participants, gathering baseline data on lifestyle, metabolic status, dietary habits, and living behaviors. Subsequently, a 10-year follow-up was performed, resulting in the inclusion of 7,612 participants in this study. We employed Spearman correlation analysis, restricted cubic spline regression, and Cox regression analysis to evaluate the connections between outcome events, dietary habits, and lifestyle. RESULT: For each additional serving of pulses consumed per week, there was a slight decrease in the risk of all-cause mortality (HR: 0.91, 95% CI: 0.83-0.99). The hazard ratios for stroke were 2.24 (1.48, 3.37) for current smokers, in comparison to individuals who had never smoked. Appropriate intake of specific dietary factors and certain lifestyle habits were associated with reduced stroke: fruit drinks at 0.51 (0.34, 0.87), and animal viscera at 0.58 (0.32, 1.04). Weekly consumption of at least 21 servings of vegetables (0.72, 0.53-0.98), 0-1 serving of fried food (0.58, 0.38-0.90), and at least 1 serving of carbonated beverages (0.51, 0.28-0.92) was associated with a reduced risk of stroke. CONCLUSION: Smoking was found to be linked to an increased risk of stroke. A higher intake of fruit drinks and animal viscera was associated with a reduced risk of stroke. In contrast, a higher intake of beans was associated with a decreased risk of overall mortality. Consuming an appropriate amount of vegetables, fried foods, and carbonated drinks was found to potentially lower the risk of stroke. Collectively, these findings underscore the importance of developing tailored dietary interventions conducive to the Chinese populace's health.

Rivers are undergoing significant changes under the pressures of natural processes and human activities. However, characterizing and understanding these changes over the long term and from a spatial perspective have proven challenging. This paper presents a novel framework featuring twelve indicators that combine geometric and spatial structures for evaluating changes in river network patterns. Through global principal component analysis, these indicators were integrated into a comprehensive river network pattern index (RNP). Employing Pearson correlation analysis, geographically weighted regression, geographic detector models, and the Shapley Value, the study quantitatively analyzed various stressors' impacts and relative contributions on river network changes from the 1960s to 2015s. The results showed a clear trend of degradation over time, particularly with frequency and density declining by 57 % and 48 %, respectively. The changes across subbasins varied temporally and spatially, with the 1980s emerging as a significant temporal hotspot and six spatial hotspots identified among twenty subbasins. The analysis showed that agriculture was significantly negatively associated with RNP, while the relationship between urbanization and RNP was inverted N-shaped. To address the negative effects of human activities, a shift from uniform management approaches is crucial. In agricultural areas, adopting more intensive farming practices could help mitigate negative impacts on RNP. For highly urbanized regions, city planning should consider the interactions between urbanization and other factors affecting RNP. Overall, incorporating an understanding of RNP's spatial-temporal dynamics and driving factors into spatial planning is critical for creating effective and sustainable management strategies for human-river interactions.

Low-temperature thermal degradation of PCDD/Fs for incineration fly ash (IFA), as a novel and emerging technology approach, offers promising features of high degradation efficiency and low energy consumption, presenting enormous potential for application in IFA resource utilization processes. This review summarizes the concentrations, congener distributions, and heterogeneity characteristics of PCDD/Fs in IFA from municipal, medical, and hazardous waste incineration. A comparative analysis of five PCDD/Fs degradation technologies is conducted regarding their characteristics, industrial potential, and applicability. From the perspective of low-temperature degradation mechanisms, pathways to enhance PCDD/Fs degradation efficiency and inhibit their regeneration reactions are discussed in detail. Finally, the challenges to achieve low-temperature degradation of PCDD/Fs for IFA with high-efficiency are prospected. This review seeks to explore new opportunities for the detoxification and resource utilization of IFA by implementing more efficient and viable low-temperature degradation technologies.

Aesthetic education, conveyed through public art courses, serves as a vital form of humanistic literacy education. It represents an effective approach to fostering innovative and creative thinking among college students. In order to effectively analyze the aesthetic education work of 46 universities, an aesthetic education index evaluation system is constructed, involving indicators including faculty strength, curriculum setting, teaching management, artistic practice, and teaching support. The secondary indicators corresponding to the five indicators are statistically analyzed, and a comprehensive evaluation analysis of the current development status of aesthetic education in 46 universities in Anhui Province is conducted by combining theoretical analysis with empirical analysis. Based on principal component analysis, an integrated evaluation model for the development of aesthetic education in universities in Anhui Province is further constructed. The model designed quantifies the influence weight of each aesthetic education index on the development of aesthetic education in Anhui Province, and forges a theoretical basis for determining the precursors of rapid development of aesthetic education in Anhui Province. Additionally, a novel approach is introduced to gauge the progression of aesthetic education within universities in Anhui Province, considering the dispersion of aesthetic education index data across the province. The comprehensive evaluation model for the development of aesthetic education in Anhui Province exhibits an overall declining trend. Hence, it is suggested to utilize the maximum value of the first derivative of the comprehensive evaluation model as an indicator of the imminent rapid development of aesthetic education in Anhui Province. On this basis, the probability equation of sustainable development of aesthetic education in Anhui Province is defined. Overall, the research results lay a theoretical foundation for the development of aesthetic education in Anhui Province.

Low-temperature anticounterfeiting technologies play a crucial role in ensuring the authenticity and integrity of temperature-sensitive products such as vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and food items. In this work, a low-temperature anticounterfeiting route based on the differentiated photoluminescence (PL), PersL, and thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) behaviors of metal halide perovskite, pure CsCdCl3, and CsCdCl3:10% Te4+ is proposed. The CsCdCl3 host exhibits pronounced color shifts, encompassing PL, PersL, and TSL behaviors, ranging from blue to yellow and orange as the temperature rises from 100 K to room temperature. This color change is attributed to a change in the luminous center (from the D3d octahedron to the C3v octahedron). Conversely, the addition of Te4+ as the luminescence center inhibits the matrix emission, maintains the characteristic orange emission of Te4+, and regulates the trap distribution of the matrix at low temperature and the TL luminescence intensity. This work highlights the significant promise of CsCdCl3:10% Te4+ and CsCdCl3 phosphors as innovative low-temperature anticounterfeiting technologies, especially for cold-chain vaccine safety monitoring.

Array waveguide gratings (AWGs) have been widely used in multi-purpose and multi-functional integrated photonic devices for Microwave photonics (MWP) systems. In this paper, we compare the effect of output waveguide configurations on the performance of AWGs. The AWG with an output waveguide converging on the grating circle had larger crosstalk and lower nonuniformity. We also fabricated a 1 × 8 AWG with an output waveguide converging onto the SOI's grating circle, whose central operation wavelength was around 1550 nm. The fabricated AWG has a chip size of 500 µm × 450 µm. Experimental results show that the adjacent channel crosstalk is -12.68 dB. The center channel insertion loss, as well as 3 dB bandwidth, are 4.18 dB and 1.22 nm at 1550 nm, respectively. The nonuniformity is about 0.494 dB, and the free spectral range is 19.4 nm. The proposed AWG is expected to play an important role in future MWP systems given its good nonuniformity and insertion loss level.

The presence of soil-borne disease obstacles and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in soil leads to serious economic losses and health risks to humans. One area in need of attention is the evolution of ARGs as pathogenic soil gradually develops, which introduces uncertainty to the dynamic ability of conventional farming models to predict ARGs. Here, we investigated variations in tomato bacterial wilt disease accompanied by the resistome by metagenomic analysis in soils over 13 seasons of monoculture. The results showed that the abundance and diversity of ARGs and mobile genetic elements (MGEs) exhibited a significant and positive correlation with R. solanacearum. Furthermore, the binning approach indicated that fluoroquinolone (qepA), tetracycline (tetA), multidrug resistance genes (MDR, mdtA, acrB, mexB, mexE), and ß-lactamases (ampC, blaGOB) carried by the pathogen itself were responsible for the increase in overall soil ARGs. The relationships between pathogens and related ARGs that might underlie the breakdown of soil ARGs were further studied in R. solanacearum invasion pot experiments. This study revealed the dynamics of soil ARGs as soil-borne diseases develop, indicating that these ecological trends can be anticipated. Overall, this study enhances our understanding of the factors driving ARGs in disease-causing soils.

Ovarian aging is a complex process characterized by a decline in oocyte quantity and quality, directly impacting fertility and overall well-being. Recent researches have identified mitochondria as pivotal players in the aging of ovaries, influencing various hallmarks and pathways governing this intricate process. In this review, we discuss the multifaceted role of mitochondria in determining ovarian fate, and outline the pivotal mechanisms through which mitochondria contribute to ovarian aging. Specifically, we emphasize the potential of targeting mitochondrial dysfunction through innovative therapeutic approaches, including antioxidants, metabolic improvement, biogenesis promotion, mitophagy enhancement, mitochondrial transfer, and traditional Chinese medicine. These strategies hold promise as effective means to mitigate age-related fertility decline and preserve ovarian health. Drawing insights from advanced researches in the field, this review provides a deeper understanding of the intricate interplay between mitochondrial function and ovarian aging, offering valuable perspectives for the development of novel therapeutic interventions aimed at preserving fertility and enhancing overall reproductive health.

This study aimed to investigate the mechanisms by which dark septate endophytes (DSE) regulate salt tolerance and the accumulation of bioactive constituents in licorice. First, the salt stress tolerance and resynthesis with the plant effect of isolated DSE from wild licorice were tested. Second, the performance of licorice inoculated with DSE, which had the best salt-tolerant and growth-promoting effects, was examined under salt stress. All isolated DSE showed salt tolerance and promoted plant growth, withCurvularia lunata D43 being the most effective. Under salt stress, C. lunata D43 could promote growth, increase antioxidant enzyme activities, enhance glycyrrhizic acid accumulation, improve key enzyme activities in the glycyrrhizic acid synthesis pathway, and induce the expression of the key enzyme gene and salt tolerance gene of licorice. The structural equation model demonstrated that DSE alleviate the negative effects of salt stress through direct and indirect pathways. Variations in key enzyme activities, gene expression, and bioactive constituent concentration can be attributed to the effects of DSE. These results contribute to revealing the value of DSE for cultivating medicinal plants in saline soils.

Nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) is an important RNA quality control pathway. It aids in degrading harmful erroneous mRNA, thereby preserving a stable and healthy internal environment. In this study, we employed CRISPR/Cas9 and amiRNA technology to generate knock out or knock down mutants of realted genes in the rice NMD pathway. Through transcriptome sequencing and observing phenotype changes, the study explored the impact of NMD pathway defects on rice gene expression and alternative splicing. The results suggest that even partial defects will induce phenotypic changes such as plant height and pollen vitality to different degrees, showing necessity of NMD factors. Gene expression analysis reveals that most differentially expressed genes are upregulated in the mutants, with ko-upf1-like and kd-upf1 defects having a more significant impact than kd-upf2 and kd-upf3. Specifically, NMD pathway defects result in increased expression levels of rice defense response-related genes and decreased expression levels of secondary metabolism-related genes, with a wider range of affected genes observed in 60-day-old senescence mutants. Transcript analysis indicates that different NMD related genes defects alter hundreds of alternative splicing events, mostly enriched in genes involving alternative splicing regulatory pathways. Approximately half of these events are shared among different mutants, and a substantial number of affected transcripts show NMD target features. NMD could affect both the transcript abundance and their splicing subtypes to regulate the defense response and early-senescence associated pathways, which plays a vital role in rice growth and reproduction.

BACKGROUND: Logsplitter Injury is a type of high-energy ankle fracture dislocation. The mechanism of injury has not been described in detail. A detailed understanding of the radiological features and pathological changes can further guide treatment. METHODS: Between April 2009 and December 2018, a retrospective analysis was conducted on 62 patients with Logsplitter injury. The study analysed the characteristics of fibular injury, tibial injury, syndesmosis injury, medial injury and lateral ligament injury on preoperative X-ray and CT scans. The incidence of the different injury types was summarised. The correlation between Logsplitter injuries and the mechanisms causing them were analysed using the Lauge-Hansen classification of ankle fractures. RESULTS: The study provides data on the types of fractures observed. Of the total fractures, 98.4% were open fractures. The fibula injuries were classified as no fracture (1.6%), transverse or short oblique fractures (61.3%), butterfly fragments (25.8%), and comminuted fractures (11.3%). The tibial injuries included compression of lateral articular surfaces (38.7%) and posterior compressions (6.5%). Medial injuries, including medial malleolar fractures, accounted for 87.1%, and deltoid ligament rupture accounted for 12.9%. The study found that injuries to the syndesmosis consisted of simple ligament ruptures (11.3%), Tillaux fractures (8.1%), Volkmann fractures (43.5%), and Tillaux and Volkmann fractures (37.1%). In 12.9% of cases, there was a complete rupture of the lateral collateral ligament. Based on the Lauge-Hansen classification, 87.1% of injuries were pronation-abduction injuries, while 8.1% were pronation and external rotation injuries, and 1.6% were supination external rotation injuries. Furthermore, 3.2% of cases could not be classified. CONCLUSION: The pathoanatomic characteristics of Logsplitter injury are diverse, with some cases accompanied by collateral ligament injury. It is important to note that these evaluations are objective and based on current results. The most common injury mechanism is vertical violence combined with abduction, although in some cases, it may be a vertical combined external-rotation injury. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: (4) case series. Nanotechnology has revolutionized the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of biomedical diseases, in which nanocarriers have greatly improved the targeting and bioavailability of antitumor drugs. The marine natural polysaccharides fucoidan, chitosan, alginate, carrageenan and porphyran have broad-spectrum bioactivities and unique physicochemical properties such as excellent non-toxicity, biocompatibility, biodegradability and reproducibility, which have placed them as a principal focus in the nanocarrier field. Nanocarriers based on different types of marine polysaccharides are distinctive in addressing antitumor therapeutic challenges such as targeting, environmental responsiveness, drug resistance, tissue toxicity, enhancing diagnostic imaging, overcoming the first-pass effect and innovative 3D binding. Additionally, they all share the possibility of relatively easy chemical modification, while their separation into well-defined derivatives provide innovative structure-activity relationship possibilities. Liposomes, nanoparticles and polymer-micelles constructed from them can efficiently deliver drugs such as paclitaxel, gemcitabine, siRNA and others, which are widely used in radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, nucleic acid therapy and photothermal therapy, yet there are still infinite possibilities for innovation and exploration. This article reviews the recent advances and challenges of marine polysaccharide-based delivery systems as oncology drug nanocarriers.

Background: Some observational studies and clinical experiments suggest a close association between gut microbiota and metabolic diseases. However, the causal effects of gut microbiota on adrenal diseases, including Adrenocortical insufficiency, Cushing syndrome, and Hyperaldosteronism, remain unclear. Methods: This study conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis using summary statistics data of gut microbiota from a large-scale genome-wide association study conducted by the MiBioGen Consortium. Summary statistics data for the three adrenal diseases were obtained from the FinnGen study. The study employed Inverse variance weighting, MR-Egger, and MR-PRESSO methods to assess the causal relationship between gut microbiota and these three adrenal diseases. Additionally, a reverse Mendelian randomization analysis was performed for bacteria found to have a causal relationship with these three adrenal diseases in the forward Mendelian randomization analysis. Cochran's Q statistic was used to test for heterogeneity of instrumental variables. Results: The IVW test results demonstrate that class Deltaproteobacteria, Family Desulfovibrionaceae, and Order Desulfovibrionales exhibit protective effects against adrenocortical insufficiency. Conversely, Family Porphyromonadaceae, Genus Lachnoclostridium, and Order MollicutesRF9 are associated with an increased risk of adrenocortical insufficiency. Additionally, Family Acidaminococcaceae confers a certain level of protection against Cushing syndrome. In contrast, Class Methanobacteria, Family Lactobacillaceae, Family Methanobacteriaceae, Genus. Lactobacillus and Order Methanobacteriales are protective against Hyperaldosteronism. Conversely, Genus Parasutterella, Genus Peptococcus, and Genus Veillonella are identified as risk factors for Hyperaldosteronism. Conclusions: This two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis revealed a causal relationship between microbial taxa such as Deltaproteobacteria and Desulfovibrionaceae and Adrenocortical insufficiency, Cushing syndrome, and Hyperaldosteronism. These findings offer new avenues for comprehending the development of adrenal diseases mediated by gut microbiota.

Personal growth and self-expressive goals have become increasingly important in modern marriages. In dual-earner couples, sharing work-related experiences with the partner can be particularly important in promoting mutual support for each other's personal growth. The current study examined dual-earner couples' sharing of work-related experiences and how it influenced both partners' relationship satisfaction and personal well-being. A total of 102 heterosexual dual-earner couples were recruited from communities in Hong Kong. They completed a pretest survey, a 14-day daily diary study, and a follow-up survey 1 year later. The Actor-Partner Interdependence Model was adopted to analyze the dyadic effects of sharing positive and negative work-related experiences on relationship satisfaction and personal well-being on the same day and 1 year later. In general, the sharing of both positive and negative work-related experiences had beneficial effects on the outcomes. Specifically, wives' sharing had more immediate effects on both partners' relational and personal well-being, whereas husbands' sharing had more long-term effects on the partner's personal well-being. The findings highlight the importance of work-related sharing in dual-earner couples. Practical implications are discussed.
