RESUMO

Twin-field quantum key distribution (TFQKD) promises ultralong secure key distribution which surpasses the rate distance limit and can reduce the number of the trusted nodes in long-haul quantum network. Tremendous efforts have been made toward implementation of TFQKD, among which, the secure key with finite size analysis can distribute more than 500 km in the lab and in the field. Here, we demonstrate the sending-or-not-sending TFQKD experimentally, achieving a secure key distribution with finite size analysis over a 658 km ultra-low-loss optical fiber. Meanwhile, in a TFQKD system, any phase fluctuation due to temperature variation and ambient variation during the channel must be recorded and compensated, and all this phase information can then be utilized to sense the channel vibration perturbations. With our quantum key distribution system, we recovered the external vibrational perturbations generated by artificial vibroseis on both the quantum and frequency calibration link, and successfully located the perturbation position in the frequency calibration fiber with a resolution better than 1 km. Our results not only set a new distance record of quantum key distribution, but also demonstrate that the redundant information of TFQKD can be used for remote sensing of the channel vibration, which can find applications in earthquake detection and landslide monitoring besides secure communication.

RESUMO

Acupoint selection rules of neurogenic dysphagia treated with acupuncture and moxibustion from pre-Qin to late Qing Dynasty in Chinese Medical Classics were analyzed based on data mining. The literature regarding acupuncture and moxibustion for neurogenic dysphagia was searched and screened according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria in Chinese Medical Classics (5th Edition), the prescriptions were extracted according to the principle of acupoint extraction. The SPSS 21.0 and Clementine 12.0 were used to perform the cluster analysis and association rule analysis.A total of 191 acupuncture and moxibustion prescriptions were screened and extracted, including 45 acupoints. The top 5 acupoints of acupuncture and moxibustion for neurogenic dysphagia in frequency were Jiache (ST 6), Dicang (ST 4), Lieque (LU 7), Lianquan (CV 23), Shuigou (GV 26). The most involved meridians were the stomach meridian, the governor vessel and the conception vessel. The main acupoints were distributed in the scalp face neck and upper limbs. The most frequently used specific acupoints was crossing points, next was eight confluence points. There were 11 acupoint combinations with strong association according to the association rule analysis, and the top one acupoint combination was Hegu (LI 4)-Jiache (ST 6). There were 9 acupoint cluster groups according to the cluster analysis. Hegu (LI 4), Jiache (ST 6), Dicang (ST 4), Shuigou (GV 26) and Chengjiang (CV 24) were core acupoints for neurogenic dysphagia treated with acupuncture and moxibustion in ancient times, besides, selecting proximal and distal acupoints and selecting acupoints according to symptoms were emphasized.

RESUMO

Vibrationally resolved photoemission spectra of the electronic-state transitions C3Πu → B3Πg of N2 and b3Σ+ → a3Π of CO following low-energy electron impacts are measured with a crossed-beam experimental arrangement. The absolute cross sections of C3Πu (ν') → B3Πg (ν″) of N2 are presented for the vibrational state-to-state transitions (ν',ν″) = (0,0), (0,1), (1,0), (1,2), and (2,1). The excitation cross sections of the metastable state C3Πu of N2 show the maxima at the electron-impact energies 14.10 (ν' = 0) eV and 14.50 (ν' = 1) eV, which are potentially related to the core-excited vibrational Feshbach resonant state 2Σu + of N2 - formed by electron attachment. The absolute cross sections of b3Σ+ (ν' = 0) → a3Π (ν″ = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4) of CO are given by the calibrations with those of N2 measured in this work. Besides the maximum excitation cross section 5.85 × 10-18 cm2 at 10.74 eV of the CO b3Σ+ (ν' = 0) state, some fine structures on the excitation function profile are attributed to different shapes and Feshbach resonant states of CO- formed by electron attachment, while the others arise from the direct electron-impact excitation. Some discrepancies, particularly for N2, between the present data and the results available in the literature studies arise from different experimental techniques and data-processing procedures. Furthermore, contributions of physical processes such as wave-packet evolution and non-Franck-Condon dynamics are highlighted here.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture for dysarthria, and to explore the rules of acupoints selection for dysarthria. METHODS: The clinical randomized control trial literature regarding acupuncture for dysarthria published before January of 2018 were searched in databases, including CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, CBM, PubMed, Ebsco, Science Direct and Cochrane Library. The information of included studies was extract and the quality was assessed. The Meta analysis was performed by using RevMan 5.3 software. The frequency of acupoints was calculated by using Excel software to analyzed the rules of acupoints selection. RESULTS: Totally 21 papers were included, involving 1651 patients. The pooled effects of clinical efficacy: heterogeneity test P =0.74, I 2=0%, OR =6.36, 95% CI: 4.55, 8.88, Z =10.84 (P<0.01), indicating the efficacy in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group. The pooled effects of the symptom score in Frenchay scale: heterogeneity test P =0.56, I 2=0%, WMD =3.20, 95% CI: 1.38, 5.02, Z =3.45 (P<0.01), indicating the efficacy in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group. The acupoints with frequency of more than 5 times were Fengchi (GB 20), Yuye (EX-HN 13), Jinjin (EX-HN 12), Lianquan (CV 23), Baihui (GV 20), tongue-three needles and Yamen (GV15). The meridians with frequency of more than 5 times were the extra channels, governor vessel, gallbladder channel, conception vessel and stomach channel. CONCLUSION: The clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with speech training/regular treatment is significantly superior to that of control group (speech training, medication, regular treatment); acupuncture is safe and effective for dysarthria; the majority of selected acupoint is local acupoints around tongue, throat and neck, as well as extra points and empirical points. However, high-quality randomized controlled trials with large sample sizes are still needed to provide further evidence.

RESUMO

Our previous study reported that the in vitro osteogenic effects of 8-prenylgenistein (8PG) were more potent than its parent compound genistein. This study aimed to evaluate the osteoprotective effects of 8PG in ovariectomized (OVX) mice as well as to characterize its estrogenic effects in uterus. Mature OVX mice were treated with phytoestrogen-free diet containing 8PG or genistein. Trabecular bone mass and most of the micro-structural parameters were ameliorated at the distal femoral metaphysis in OVX mice upon treatment with genistein and both doses of 8PG. The beneficial effects of 8PG on trabecular bone were confirmed by safranin O and ABHO staining. 8PG markedly inhibited the ovariectomy-induced mRNA expressions of RANKL/OPG, ALP, COL, OCN, cathepsin K and ER-α in bone. In contrast, genistein further increased the ovariectomy-induced ER-α expression in bone. The uterus index was increased in genistein-treated group. Genistein up-regulated the expression of ER-α and PR, while 8PG significantly down-regulated the ER-α and C3 expression in uterus of OVX mice. Moreover, genistein, but not 8PG, increased expressions of ER-α, PCNA and C3 in Ishikawa cell. This study suggested that 8PG improved trabecular bone properties in OVX mice without exerting uterotrophic effects and its estrogenic actions were distinct from those of genistein.

RESUMO

Our previous studies have demonstrated that the extract of Fructus Ligustri Lucidi (FLL) can maintain in vivo calcium homeostasis in aged and ovariectomized rats. This study was designed to elucidate the action of water fraction isolated from the FLL extract on bone metabolism and a calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) in parathyroid glands and kidneys of diabetic rats. The streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats were treated with vehicle, FLL extract, and the water fraction (WF) isolated from the FLL extract for 4 weeks. Treatment with WF dramatically increased the serum levels of both calcium and parathyroid hormone and reduced urinary calcium excretion in diabetic rats as well as improved the pathological changes of trabecular bone as shown by the increased BA/TA, BMD/BV, and BV/TV. The mRNA expression of the calcium-binding protein 9k and protein expression of a vitamin D receptor (VDR) and plasma membrane Ca-ATPase in duodenum were significantly increased in diabetic rats after treatment with WF, which reduced the expression of CaSR in parathyroid gland and kidney as well as inhibited the up-regulation of VDR and 25-hydroxyvitamin D-24 hydroxylase expressions in the kidney of diabetic rats. This study reveals that the water fraction may be an active component of the FLL extract that exerts beneficial effects on improving bone metabolism via regulating vitamin D metabolism in kidney and vitamin D-dependent calcium transporters in duodenum as well as modulating the expression of CaSR in the parathyroid gland and kidneys.

RESUMO

STUDY DESIGN: Neovascularization and expression of inflammatory cytokines were examined in Osteoprotegerin (Opg) knockout (KO) mice that show intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to clarify the pathological changes in lumbar IVD degeneration in Opg KO mice. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: Osteoporosis is a controversial risk factor for IVD degeneration. Deletion of Opg resulted in IVD degeneration in mice. Neovascularization and inflammatory cytokines are key factors in IVD degeneration. METHODS: Opg KO mice and their wild-type (WT) littermates were euthanized. Lumbar IVDs were harvested. Safranin O/Fast Green staining was performed to examine the pathological changes. Microcomputed tomographic (micro-CT) analysis was performed to determine the structural changes at the junction of lumbar IVD cartilage and vertebrae. Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining was performed to evaluate osteoclast formation. Protein expression of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), CD31, VE-cadherin, CD 34, interleukin-1ß (IL-1ß), and tumor necrosis factors α (TNF-α) were analyzed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays. Gene expressions of IL-1ß, IL-6, and TNF-α were analyzed by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). RESULTS: In 12-week-old Opg KO mice, new bone was formed in the endplate cartilage of lumbar IVDs and this became more obvious in 24-week-old Opg KO mice. Three-dimensional (3D) µCT reconstruction analyses showed that the edges of the L4 and L5 vertebrae were rugged with bone marrow cavities in it. Protein expression of VEGF-A, CD31, VE-cadherin, and CD34 was increased in the endplate and growth plate of lumbar IVDs of Opg KO mice. Gene expression of IL-1ß, IL-6, and TNF-α as well as protein expression of IL-1ß and TNF-α were highly expressed in the lumbar IVDs of Opg KO mice. CONCLUSION: Deletion of Opg leads to increased neovascularization and expression of inflammatory cytokines in the lumbar disc in Opg KO mice, which may play important roles in IVD degeneration. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: N/A.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical effects of PHILOS plate with injectable artificial bone for the treatment of proximal humeral fractures in elderly patients. METHODS: From March 2007 to March 2009,17 patients who suffered from proximal humeral fractures were retrospectively studied. There were 7 males, 10 females, with an average age of 71 years (ranged, 66 to 81 years). Nine patients were caused by falling, seven patients were caused by traffic accidents, and one patient was hit by heavy object. According to the Neer classification, 9 patients were type III and 8 patients were type IV. All the patients were treated with PHILOS plate internal fixation combined with injectable artificial bone. Assessment was based on the Constan-Murley shoulder score and percentage Constant-Murley score. RESULTS: The mean period of follow-up was 16 months (ranged, 8 to 25 months). All the patients obtained bone union in an average of 3 months (2.5 to 3.5 months). There were no complications such as deep infection, nonunion or failure of fixation. The Constant-Murley score of the injured side was mean (86.50 +/- 10.50) (ranged, 75 to 95). The clinical outcomes were excellent in 9 cases, good in 6 cases, moderate in 2 cases. CONCLUSION: The treatment of proximal humeral fractures in elderly patients with application of PHILOS plate combined with injectable artificial bone can get satisfactory clinical effect especially suitable for osteoporosis and comminuted proximal humeral fractures.

RESUMO

Photodissociation of (ICN)(2) dimer from 265 to 270 nm are studied using time-of-flight mass spectrometry combined with velocity imaging technique. Both I(+) and I(2) (+) ions are found in the mass spectra. The I(2) (+) ions result from (1+1) resonant ionization of the neutral I(2) fragment that is produced in the photodissociation of dimer, but not from dissociative ionization of (ICN)(2); i.e., (ICN)(2) (+)+hnu-->I(2) (+)+2CN. The dissociation channels of I(2) (+) leading to I(+) are all found with parallel character. The total kinetic energy distributions and anisotropy parameters of the I(+) channels produced by (ICN)(2) are almost the same as those from a neutral I(2) sample, thereby confirming that the I(2) fragments are obtained in cold state. With the aid of ab initio calculations, a plausible dissociation mechanism is proposed.

RESUMO

An up-flow biological aerated filter packed with two layers media was employed for tertiary treatment of textile wastewater secondary effluent. Under steady state conditions, good performance of the reactor was achieved and the average COD, NH(4)(+)-N and total nitrogen (TN) in the effluent were 31, 2 and 8mg/L, respectively. For a fixed dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration, an increase of hydraulic loading resulted in a decrease in substrate removal. With the increase of hydraulic loadings from 0.13 to 0.78m(3)/(m(2)h), the removal efficiencies of COD, NH(4)(+)-N and TN all decreased, which dropped from 52 to 38%, from 90 to 68% and from 45 to 33%, respectively. In addition, the results also confirmed that the increase of COD and NH(4)(+)-N removal efficiencies resulted from the increase of DO concentrations, but this variation trend was not observed for TN removal. With the increase of DO concentrations from 2.4 to 6.1mg/L, the removal efficiencies of COD and NH(4)(+)-N were 39-53% and 64-88%, whenas TN removal efficiencies increased from 39 to 42% and then dropped to 35%.

RESUMO

Embryonic stem (ES) cells rely on growth factors provided by feeder cells or exogenously to maintain their pluripotency. In order to identify such factors, we have established sub-lines of STO feeder cells which exhibit variable ability in supporting ES cell self-renewal. Functional screening identifies WNT5A and WNT6 as STO cell-produced factors that potently inhibit ES cell differentiation in a serum-dependent manner. Furthermore, direct activation of beta-catenin without disturbing the upstream components of the WNT/beta-catenin pathway fully recapitulates the effect of WNTs on ES cells. Importantly, the WNT/beta-catenin pathway up-regulates the mRNA for Stat3, a known regulator of ES cell self-renewal in the mouse. Finally, LIF is able to mimic the serum effect to act synergistically with WNT proteins to inhibit ES cell differentiation. Therefore, our study reveals part of the molecular mechanisms by which the WNT/beta-catenin pathway acts to prevent ES cell differentiation through convergence on the LIF/JAK-STAT pathway at the level of STAT3.
