RESUMO

This paper tried to observe the relationship between the personality of patients with different personalities and the survival rate of replantation of traumatic amputated finger, and analyzed the influencing factors. EPQ psychological quality scores of patients with different gender, average monthly family income and age were significantly different (P < 0.05). In terms of the internal and external tendency score of EPQ, there were statistical requirements for differences in the mean monthly income of patients from different families (P < 0.05). For the concealment degree of EPQ, there were statistical requirements for differences in gender, family income, education level and patient scores (P < 0.05). In terms of mental state, the scores were higher than the standard, whether from the perspective of obsessive-compulsive symptoms, or from the perspective of interpersonal sensitivity, hostility, paranoia and other dimensions, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Patients with different personality types have different psychological problems after accidental amputation and replantation, which is directly related to the survival rate of postoperative finger amputation. Therefore, in order to effectively improve the survival rate of patients with finger amputation, the psychological condition of patients can be assessed, early detection and intervention of patients' psychological problems, and appropriate intervention measures can be taken according to the personality characteristics of patients.

RESUMO

Objective: To study the effectiveness of medial upper arm free flap in repairing skin and soft tissue (SST) defects of the dorsum of the hand. Methods: 10 patients with SST defects on the dorsum of the hand who underwent free upper arm medial flap repair in our hospital from March 2017 to August 2018 were included in the study. Hand function, flap survival rate, wound healing, donor wound recovery, and the level of pain in the injured area were recorded before the operation, 1 month, and 6 months postoperatively. Results: The highest score in hand function was seen at the 6-month postoperative interval, followed by that at the 1-month postoperative interval. The lowest score in hand function was the preoperative score (P < 0.05). All flaps were still surviving 6 months postoperatively. Recovery of the function of the donor muscle, the elbow joint, as well as wound healing, all progressed well. 6 months postoperatively, 3 patients developed numbness and stiffness of the hand, but the symptoms were relieved following treatment. Compared to the preoperative scores, the visual analogue scale (VAS) scores at the injured site 1 month and 6 months postoperatively were significantly decreased, with the 6-month postoperative score being lower than the 1-month postoperative score (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The free upper arm medial flap is a good alternative for repairing skin and soft tissue defects of the dorsum of the hand with exposed phalanges, an approach that merits widespread promotion and clinical application.

RESUMO

KEY MESSAGE: FLO6 is involved in starch synthesis by interacting with SSIVb and GBSS in rice. Starch synthesized and stored in plastids including chloroplasts and amyloplasts plays a vital role in plant growth and provides the major energy for human diet. However, the molecular mechanisms by which regulate starch synthesis remain largely unknown. In this study, we identified and characterized a rice floury endosperm mutant M39, which exhibited defective starch granule formation in pericarp and endosperm, accompanied by the decreased starch content and amylose content. The abnormal starch accumulation in M39 pollen grains caused a significant decrease in plant fertility. Chloroplasts in M39 leaves contained no or only one large starch granule. Positional cloning combined with complementary experiment demonstrated that the mutant phenotypes were restored by the FLOURY ENDOSPERM6 (FLO6). FLO6 was generally expressed in various tissues, including leaf, anther and developing endosperm. FLO6 is a chloroplast and amyloplast-localized protein that is able to bind to starch by its carbohydrate-binding module 48 (CBM48) domain. Interestingly, we found that FLO6 interacted with starch synthase IVb (SSIVb) and granule-bound starch synthase (GBSSI and GBSSII). Together, our results suggested that FLO6 plays a critical role in starch synthesis through cooperating with several starch synthesis enzymes throughout plant growth and development.

RESUMO

Starch, as a main energy storage substance, plays an important role in plant growth and human life. Despite the fact that several enzymes and regulators involved in starch biosynthesis have been identified, the regulating mechanism of starch synthesis is still unclear. In this study, we isolated a rice floury endosperm mutant M14 from a mutant pool induced by 60Co. Both total starch content and amylose content in M14 seeds significantly decreased, and starch thermal and pasting properties changed. Compound starch granules were defected in the floury endosperm of M14 seeds. Map-based cloning and a complementation test showed that the floury endosperm phenotype was determined by a gene of OsPPDKB, which encodes pyruvate orthophosphate dikinase (PPDK, EC 2.7.9.1). Subcellular localization analysis demonstrated that PPDK was localized in chloroplast and cytoplasm, the chOsPPDKB highly expressed in leaf and leaf sheath, and the cyOsPPDKB constitutively expressed with a high expression in developing endosperm. Moreover, the expression of starch synthesis-related genes was also obviously altered in M14 developing endosperm. The above results indicated that PPDK played an important role in starch metabolism and structure in rice endosperm.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate whether methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) is correlated with sexual dysfunction in heroin-dependent men and to determine the prevalence and risk factors of sexual dysfunction among men on MMT. METHODS: The study included a retrospective survey and a cross-sectional survey which contained interviews of 293 men who are currently engaged in MMT. The results of the two surveys were compared. For a subset of 43 participants, radioimmunoassay was additionally conducted using retrospective and prospective blood samples to test the levels of plasma testosterone and luteinizing hormone. Other study evaluations were the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-15), and Self-rating Depression Scale. RESULTS: Sexual dysfunction in all five IIEF-15 domains (erectile function, orgasmic function, sexual desire, intercourse satisfaction, and overall satisfaction) was strongly associated with long-term use of heroin. A decrease in the severity of sexual dysfunction was associated with MMT initiation. Erectile dysfunction, lack of sexual desire, inability to orgasm, and lack of intercourse satisfaction were significantly correlated with increasing age of the participants. Methadone dose and duration of methadone treatment were not found to be associated with sexual dysfunction. The level of plasma testosterone significantly declined during methadone treatment, but results from multivariate analysis indicated low levels of testosterone were not the main cause of sexual dysfunction. No correlation between reported depression status and sexual function was found. CONCLUSIONS: While high levels of sexual dysfunction were reported by heroin-dependent men in our study before and after MMT initiation, MMT appears to be correlated with improved sexual function in the population of the study.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the long-term effect of primary combined tissue transplantation on hand reconstruction. METHODS: The data of 8 kinds of combined tissue transplantations employed to reconstruct the severely injured hands of 26 patients over the past 2 to 11 years were studied retrospectively. Among them, combined tissue transplantation taking the anterior-lateral femoral flap as the main tissue unit was applied in 21 cases and taking the second toe as the main tissue unit was applied in 5 cases. Blood vessel anastomosis was performed in parallel in 16 cases, series in 6 cases and both in 4 cases. RESULTS: Among the 60 free tissue units employed on 26 patients, 58 survived completely and the other 2 survived after dressing change because of postoperative partial necrosis. The patients were followed up for 2-11 years postoperatively, with an average of 3.5 years. According to the standard for function of reconstructed hands by Chinese Medical Association, excellent results were obtained in 10 cases, good in 12 cases, fair in 3 cases and bad in 1 case. CONCLUSIONS: Primary combined tissue transplantation, which may preserve the tissue vitality of injured hands to the maximum and thus facilitate function restoration of the hands, is a promising method in reconstructing severely-injured hands.
