RESUMO

A series of well-defined diblock copolymers, namely, 3,4-polyisoprene-block-syndiotactic-1,2-polybutadiene (3,4-PI-b-s-1,2-PBD), with a soft-hard block sequence were synthesized via an in situ sequential polymerization process using a robust iron-based catalytic system Fe(acac)3/(isocyanoimino) triptenylphosphorane (IITP)/AliBu3. This catalyst exhibits vigorous activity and temperature tolerance, achieving a polymerization activity of 5.41 × 106 g mol(Fe)-1 h-1 at 70 °C with a [IP]/[Fe] ratio of 15,000. Moreover, the quasi-living polymerization characteristics of the catalyst were verified through kinetic experiments. The first-stage polymerization of isoprene (IP) is performed at 30 °C to give a soft 3,4-PI block, and then a quantitative amount of 1,3-butadiene was added in situ to the quasi-living polymerization system to produce a second hard s-1,2-PBD. The s-1,2-PBD segments in block copolymers display a rodlike morphology contrasting with the spherulitic morphology characteristic of s-1,2-PBD homopolymers. The precise tunability of the length of the soft and hard chain segments of these novel elastic materials with the feed ratio of IP and BD, endowing them with outstanding mechanical properties and excellent dynamic mechanical properties, which are expected to be promising high-performance rubber materials.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: High-eyelid fold is a common complication of upper eyelid surgery. This study proposed a novel technique for correcting high-eyelid fold in Asian patients with little eyelid skin and thick orbital fascia to improve cosmetic outcomes and patient satisfaction. METHODS: We retrospectively analysed the clinical data of 38 patients with high-eyelid fold repaired at the Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, from July 2017 to April 2022. All patients were treated using this method of preserving the high-eyelid fold and reconstructing the subcutaneous orbital fascia. Postoperative outcomes were reviewed and analysed using objective measures and subjective surgeon and patient evaluations. RESULTS: Thirty-eight patients (71 eyes) were included. Postoperative follow-up was for 6-25 months. At 6 months postoperatively, the mean anatomic crease height decreased from 10.45 mm to 6.22 mm, mean pretarsal show decreased from 3.20 mm to 1.61 mm, and mean margin reflex distance in 1 of the 31 patients with ptosis increased from 2.93 mm to 3.87 mm (P < 0.001). The compliance rate between the surgeon's assessment and patient satisfaction was 89.5%, with 31 cases considered good by both the surgeon and patient and one case considered poor by both (undercorrected ptosis), though a satisfactory result was achieved after reoperation. Neither recurrence of the original crease nor serious complications were reported. CONCLUSION: By preserving high-eyelid folds and reconstructing the subcutaneous orbital fascia, unnaturally high- and deep-eyelid folds were converted to lower, nondepressed folds.

RESUMO

Developing highly efficient, stable, and cost-effective two-dimensional (2D) conjugated polymers (CPs) for overall water splitting (OWS) is critical for producing clean and renewable hydrogen energy, yet it remains a great challenge. Here, we designed eight 2D CPs through the topological assembly of diacetylene and benzene-derived molecular linkers that can offer active sites for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions, and explored their structural, electronic, optical, and photocatalytic OWS properties by performing first-principles computations. It is shown that incorporating benzo-heterocyclic rings into CPs can significantly modulate the electronic structures of CPs and broaden the spectral absorption, suitable for visible-light-driven OWS. Remarkably, through a range of screening criteria, including stability, electronic band structures, band edge alignments, and photocatalytic activity, we found that CP-4 based on diacetylene and benzotrifuran can spontaneously trigger the OWS in a neutral environment under its own light-induced bias, eliminating the need for sacrificial agents or cocatalysts. Specifically, the HER active site is primarily located at diacetylene moieties, while the OER active site is mainly concentrated on the benzo-heterocyclic rings. Moreover, the ideal STH efficiency for OWS on CP-4 was estimated to be 13.87%, highlighting its potential as a prospective photocatalyst for large-scale industrial OWS. Our findings open a door to the rational design of novel polymer photocatalysts for OWS.

RESUMO

Deep neural networks have made great achievements in remote sensing image analyses; however, previous studies have shown that deep neural networks exhibit incredible vulnerability to adversarial examples, which raises concerns about regional safety and production safety. In this paper, we propose an adversarial denoising method based on latent representation guidance for remote sensing image scene classification. In the training phase, we train a variational autoencoder to reconstruct the data using only the clean dataset. At test time, we first calculate the normalized mutual information between the reconstructed image using the variational autoencoder and the reference image as denoised by a discrete cosine transform. The reconstructed image is selectively utilized according to the result of the image quality assessment. Then, the latent representation of the current image is iteratively updated according to the reconstruction loss so as to gradually eliminate the influence of adversarial noise. Because the training of the denoiser only involves clean data, the proposed method is more robust against unknown adversarial noise. Experimental results on the scene classification dataset show the effectiveness of the proposed method. Furthermore, the method achieves better robust accuracy compared with state-of-the-art adversarial defense methods in image classification tasks.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: In the tumor microenvironment (TME), the dynamic interaction between tumor cells and immune cells plays a critical role in predicting the prognosis of colorectal cancer. This study introduces a novel approach based on artificial intelligence (AI) and immunohistochemistry (IHC)-stained whole-slide images (WSIs) of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients to quantitatively assess the spatial associations between tumor cells and immune cells. To achieve this, we employ the Morisita-Horn ecological index (Mor-index), which allows for a comprehensive analysis of the spatial distribution patterns between tumor cells and immune cells within the TME. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this study, we employed a combination of deep learning technology and traditional computer segmentation methods to accurately segment the tumor nuclei, immune nuclei, and stroma nuclei within the tumor regions of IHC-stained WSIs. The Mor-index was used to assess the spatial association between tumor cells and immune cells in TME of CRC patients by obtaining the results of cell nuclei segmentation. A discovery cohort (N = 432) and validation cohort (N = 137) were used to evaluate the prognostic value of the Mor-index for overall survival (OS). RESULTS: The efficacy of our method was demonstrated through experiments conducted on two datasets comprising a total of 569 patients. Compared to other studies, our method is not only superior to the QuPath tool but also produces better segmentation results with an accuracy of 0.85. Mor-index was quantified automatically by our method. Survival analysis indicated that the higher Mor-index correlated with better OS in the discovery cohorts (HR for high vs. low 0.49, 95% CI 0.27-0.77, P = 0.0014) and validation cohort (0.21, 0.10-0.46, < 0.0001). CONCLUSION: This study provided a novel AI-based approach to segmenting various nuclei in the TME. The Mor-index can reflect the immune status of CRC patients and is associated with favorable survival. Thus, Mor-index can potentially make a significant role in aiding clinical prognosis and decision-making.

RESUMO

Pentacyclic triterpenes is a natural amphipathic product which possess a rigid backbone and several polar functional groups such as hydroxyl, carbonyl and carboxyl groups. The amphipathic character makes it easy to realize self-assemble into complex nano structure and therefore attract extensive attention due to the simple synthetic processes and renewable raw materials. Hence, a novel Ursolic acid-based hydrogel was prepared successfully via a simple self-assembly of triterpenoid derivative in methanol by capture water molecule in air. The resulting hydrogel show a porous morphology and good elasticity including strong heat resistance. Based on the characteristic above, the hydrogel showed a good iodine adsorption capacity and can removal 75.0% of the iodine from cyclohexane solution and 66.3% from aqueous solution within 36 h. Data analysis indicate that all the iodine adsorption process are dominated by chemisorption and belongs to the multi-site adsorption on heterogenous surfaces. In addition, the obtained hydrogel also possesses a good recyclability which can maintain more than 82% of its capacity after 5 cycles. The simple preparation method and easily available raw materials endow it a great potential in future pollutant treatment.

RESUMO

Desmoplastic reaction (DR) is one of many tumor-host interactions and is associated with the overall survival (OS) of patients with colorectal cancer. However, the clinical significance of DR requires further study in large multicenter cohorts and its predictive value in adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) response remains unclear. Here, a total of 2,225 patients with colorectal cancer from five independent institutions were divided into primary (N = 1,012 from two centers) and validation (N = 1,213 from three centers) cohorts. DR was classified as immature, middle, or mature depending on the presence of myxoid stroma and hyalinized collagen bundles at the invasive front of the primary tumor. OS among different subgroups were compared, and the correlations of DR type with tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) within stroma, tumor stroma ratio (TSR), and Stroma AReactive Invasion Front Areas (SARIFA) were also analyzed. In the primary cohort, patients with mature DR had the highest 5-year survival rate. These findings were confirmed in validation cohort. In addition, for stage II colorectal cancer, patients classified as non-mature DR would benefit from ACT compared with surgery alone. Furthermore, immature and middle DR were more associated with high TSR, less distribution of TILs within stroma and positive SARIFA compared with mature. Taken together, these data suggest that DR is a robust-independent prognostic factor for patients with colorectal cancer. For patients with stage II colorectal cancer, non-mature DR could be a potential marker for recognizing high-risk patients who may benefit from ACT. Significance: DR has the potential to identify patients with high-risk colorectal cancer and predict the efficacy of adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with stage II colorectal cancer. Our findings support reporting DR types as additional pathologic parameters in clinical practice for more precise risk stratification.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND & AIMS: Medulloblastoma (MB) is a primary malignant tumor of the brain. They are categorized as WHO grade IV neoplasms, and mostly occur in children. The traditional therapy for MB is surgery, followed by radiation and chemotherapy, but the clinical outcome is still poor and has a high possibility of recurrence. The mechanism underlying the development of MB should be further investigated to develop novel therapeutic strategies. METHODS: Research has demonstrated that circRNAs contribute to tumorigenesis, but the functional mechanism of circRNAs in MB has not been fully explored and remains vague. The differentially expressed circRNAs between MB and normal cerebellar tissues were analyzed based on the microarray expression profiles to characterize the potential mechanism of circRNAs in MB. RESULTS: The results revealed that circRNA_103128 was highly expressed in MB, and cellular and animal experiments were performed to verify its tumorigenic effect in MB. Furthermore, a bioinformatics analysis and literature review previous literature were performed, confirming miR-129-5p as a target gene downstream of circRNA_103128. In addition, SOX4 was predicted to be a downstream target protein of miR-129-5p. Subsequently, miR-129-5p expression was inhibited, which revealed the regulatory mechanism of circRNA_103128. The latter promotes MB cell growth, migration, and invasion by the sponge effect of miR-129-5p, thereby affecting the expression of SOX4. CONCLUSIONS: This study is the first to systematically demonstrate that circRNA_103128 may play an important regulatory role in MB through a sponge effect with miR-129 -5p, which affects SOX4 expression and regulates tumorigenesis and tumor cell development in MB.

RESUMO

The fruit and vegetable industry produces millions of tons of residues, which can cause large economic losses. Fruit and vegetable wastes and by-products contain a large number of bioactive substances with functional ingredients that have antioxidant, antibacterial, and other properties. Current technologies can utilize fruit and vegetable waste and by-products as ingredients, food bioactive compounds, and biofuels. Traditional and commercial utilization in the food industry includes such technologies as microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE), and high hydrostatic pressure technique (HHP). Biorefinery methods for converting fruit and vegetable wastes into biofuels, such as anaerobic digestion (AD), fermentation, incineration, pyrolysis and gasification, and hydrothermal carbonization, are described. This study provides strategies for the processing of fruit and vegetable wastes using eco-friendly technologies and lays a foundation for the utilization of fruit and vegetable loss/waste and by-products in a sustainable system.

RESUMO

WHAT IS KNOWN ON THE SUBJECT?: Physical restraint is widely used in the elderly at home, and cognitive impairment is an important risk factor. Family caregivers of people with dementia are the main decision makers and implementers of physical restraint at home. Most people with dementia in China receive home care, and family caregivers face enormous care and moral pressures influenced by Confucian culture. Current research on physical restraints focuses on quantitative analysis of its prevalence and reasons within the institutions. There is little research on how family caregivers perceive physical restraints in home care context, especially under Chinese culture. WHAT THE PAPER ADDS TO EXISTING KNOWLEDGE?: Many family caregivers face approach - avoidance conflict and moral dilemmas when making decisions to restrain, and they make difficult choices in these dilemmas. In China, family caregivers are influenced by many unique factors, including traditional Confucian culture, family affection, and rural home environment. Inadequate laws and policies provide the ground for abuse of physical restraints, and family caregivers rarely consider legal and policy restrictions when using physical restraints. WHAT ARE THE IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE?: With limited medical resources, nurse-led dementia management is the hope to reduce physical restraints in home. Mental health nurses need to assess for the appropriateness of physical restraints associated with psychiatric symptoms in people with dementia. At both organizational and community levels, improving effective communication and relationships between professionals and family caregivers are important to address. Improvements in this context require education and time for staff to develop skills and experience which is necessary to provide family caregivers with ongoing information and psychological support within their communities. Considering Confucian culture will be of value for mental health nurses working in other countries where there are Chinese communities to better understand perceptions of family caregivers. ABSTRACT: INTRODUCTION: The use of physical restraints is a common practice in home care. Family caregivers face care-related and moral pressures due to the influence of Confucian culture in China. The use of physical restraints in the Chinese cultural environment may differ from the use of such restraints in other cultures. SCIENTIFIC RATIONALE: Current research on physical restraints focuses on quantitative analysis of its prevalence and reasons within the institutions. However, there is little research on how family caregivers perceive physical restraints in home care context, especially under Chinese culture. AIM: To explore the perceptions of family caregivers on physical restraints in people diagnosed with dementia receiving home care. METHOD: A descriptive, qualitative study of Chinese family caregivers of people diagnosed with dementia in home care. Framework method analysis was adopted using the multilevel socio-ecological model. RESULTS: Beliefs about benefit lead to a dilemma for family caregivers. Cherishing family's affection encourages caregivers to reduce physical restraints, but lack of help from family members, professionals and the community forces them to restrain their loved ones. DISCUSSION: Future research should explore the complex issue of culturally specific physical restraints decisions. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: Mental health nurses must receive education regarding the negative outcomes of the use of physical restraints for family members of people diagnosed with dementia. A more liberal approach to mental health and relevant legislation, which is an emerging global phenomenon that is currently in an early phase of development in China, grants human rights to people diagnosed with dementia. Effective communication and relationships between professionals and family caregivers can contribute to the establishment of a dementia-friendly community in China.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to explore the experience of intensive care unit nurses under time pressure and the occurrence of implicit rationing under time pressure. METHODS: In-depth audio-recorded interviews were conducted with 18 intensive care unit nurses. Colaizzi seven-step analysis of phenomenological data was used. FINDINGS: Three themes emerged from the analysis: the influence of internal and external environments, perceived differences in time pressure, and broad coping styles. CONCLUSIONS: Under the influence of various factors, including continuous or intermittent time pressure, nurses employ strategies to deal with the pressure. Sometimes, these strategies allow them to complete all their necessary work. However, with the increase in time pressure, sometimes some work that must be done is changed into work that should be done in the consciousness of nurses. In such cases, nurses choose the strategy of implicit rationing to deal with time pressure.

RESUMO

Efficient exploration remains a challenging problem in reinforcement learning, especially for tasks where extrinsic rewards from environments are sparse or even totally disregarded. Significant advances based on intrinsic motivation show promising results in simple environments but often get stuck in environments with multimodal and stochastic dynamics. In this work, we propose a variational dynamic model based on the conditional variational inference to model the multimodality and stochasticity. We consider the environmental state-action transition as a conditional generative process by generating the next-state prediction under the condition of the current state, action, and latent variable, which provides a better understanding of the dynamics and leads to a better performance in exploration. We derive an upper bound of the negative log likelihood of the environmental transition and use such an upper bound as the intrinsic reward for exploration, which allows the agent to learn skills by self-supervised exploration without observing extrinsic rewards. We evaluate the proposed method on several image-based simulation tasks and a real robotic manipulating task. Our method outperforms several state-of-the-art environment model-based exploration approaches.

RESUMO

AIMS: This study aimed to examine the economic and clinical benefits of a new powered circular stapler for left-sided colorectal construction in China. METHODS: A decision analysis model was constructed for a cohort of adult patients who underwent left-sided colorectal anastomoses, using either the Echelon Circular Powered (ECP) stapler) or the conventional manual circular staplers (MCS). The complications rates and healthcare resource utilization in the ECP cohort were obtained from the single-arm ECP trial (NCT03326895). For the MCS cohort, retrospective data from 20 Chinese hospitals were analyzed. Listing prices were used to estimate the costs of the staplers in China. Propensity score matching (PSM) was employed to adjust for the imbalance between the two cohorts. Anastomotic leak rate, length of stay (LOS), 90-day readmission rate, and direct medical costs were used for the decision analysis model parameters. A budget impact analysis was conducted to compare the total hospitalization expenditure between ECP and manual circular staplers from the hospital's perspective in China. RESULTS: Assuming 100 procedures per year, the anastomotic leak rate was 1.79 and 29.76 per 100 procedures in the ECP and MCS cohorts, respectively. LOS was 1,426.91 days in the ECP cohort, compared to 1,702.38 days in the MCS cohort. The 90-day readmission rate was also lower in the ECP cohort than the MCS cohort (19.10 vs. 26.19 per 100 procedures). For the 100 procedures, the annual total hospitalization costs for left-sided colorectal anastomosis were reduced from ¥7,152,251 using manual circular staplers to ¥6,919,306 using ECP. Despite a higher acquisition cost of ECP compared to the manual staplers (¥711,200 vs. ¥441,700), an annual saving of ¥232,945in the total cost resulted from lower rates of complications and shorter LOS. Sensitivity analyses presented consistent savings using ECP, and the ECP cost and cost of the index hospitalization with anastomotic leak were found the most influencing factors. CONCLUSIONS: There were clinical and economic benefits of ECP, compared to manual circular staplers for left-sided colorectal anastomoses. Further direct comparative studies on the use of ECP in practice in Chinese hospital settings are warranted.

RESUMO

Screening high-efficiency 2D conjugated polymers toward visible-light-driven overall water splitting (OWS) is one of the most promising but challenging research directions to realize solar-to-hydrogen (STH) energy conversion and storage. "Mystery molecule" heptazine is an intriguing hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) building block. By covalently linking with the electron-rich alkynyl and phenyl oxygen evolution reaction (OER) active units, 10 experimentally feasible 2D covalent heptazine-based frameworks (CHFs) are constructed and screened four promising visible-light-driven OWS photocatalysts, which are linked by p-phenyl (CHF-4), p-phenylenediynyl (CHF-7), m-phenylenediynyl (CHF-8), and phenyltriynyl (CHF-9), respectively. Their HER and OER active sites achieve completely spatially separated, where HER active sites focus on heptazine units and OER active sites located on alkynyl or phenyl units. Their lower overpotentials allow them to spontaneously trigger the surface OWS reaction under their own light-induced bias without using any sacrificial agents and cocatalysts. Among them, CHF-7 shows the best photocatalytic performance with an ideal STH energy conversion efficiency estimated at 12.04%, indicating that it is a promising photocatalyst for industrial OWS. This work not only provides an innovative idea for the exploration of novel polymer photocatalysts for OWS but also supplies a direction for the development of heptazine derivatives.

RESUMO

Active species regulation is a key scientific issue that essentially determines the selectivity and activity of a photocatalyst. Herein, CuI -bridged tetrakis(4-ethynylphenyl)ethene aggregates (T4 EPE-Cu) with photo-regulated 1 O2 and O2 .- generation were demonstrated for selective photocatalytic aerobic oxidation. In this system, transient photovoltage combined with the density functional theory calculations confirmed that Cu-alkynyl was the main oxygen activation site. The adsorbed O2 tends to produce O2 .- because of the potential well effect of Cu-alkynyl under high-energy light excitation. But under low-energy light, O2 tends to produce 1 O2 via resonance energy transfer with Cu-alkynyl. For α-terpinene oxidation, the ratios of 1 O2 products to O2 .- products can be controlled from 1.3 (380 nm) to 10.7 (600 nm). Furthermore, T4 EPE-Cu exhibited ultrahigh photocatalytic performance for Glaser coupling and benzylamine oxidation, with a conversion and selectivity of over 99 %.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Harmonic ACE +7 Shears with Advanced Hemostasis is an upgraded ultrasonic device, an ultrasonic surgical and electrosurgical system (USES). The study aimed to evaluate the economic and clinical effectiveness of the USES compared with the conventional ultrasonic scalpel (CUS) in gastrectomy. METHODS: We conducted a single-center, retrospective cohort study using the electronic medical records in China. We collected intraoperative and postoperative data from gastric cancer patients who underwent the endoscope-assisted distal gastrectomy from 2018 to June 30, 2019. Procedure-related costs were estimated. We used linear regression by controlling a set of covariates to assess the effect of USES on outcomes. RESULT: Out of 87 eligible patients, the USES group (40 patients) and CUS group (47 patients) were comparable in terms of age, medical history and stages of cancer. Compared with the CUS, the USES saved 4.27 hemoclips per person (95% CI 0.57-7.97, p < 0.05) and 34.18 ml intraoperative blood per person (95% CI 8.74-59.62 ml, p < 0.05), respectively. Postoperative length of stay (LOS) was shorter in the USES group (7.90 ± 1.95 vs. 9.26 ± 2.81 days) but the difference was not statistically significant (p = 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The USES group was associated with fewer hemoclips use and intraoperative blood loss in patients undergoing laparoscopic gastrectomy at comparable costs.

RESUMO

Nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a major type of lung cancer. In current study, we aim to evaluate whether the combination of Ku70/80 heterodimer protein inhibitor STL127705 and gemcitabine would be more favorable approach for the treatment of NSCLC compared with monotreatment with gemcitabine. Clongenic survival assay was used to determine the survival and sensitivity to irradiation. H1299 was stained with fluorescein isothiocyanate-Annexin V, and cell apoptosis was measured by flow cytometry. H1299 cells were transfected with nonhomologous end-joining (NHEJ) repair reporter, and stable cell line was selected by puromycin. NHEJ activity was determined based on the intensity of green fluorescent protein. DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) were determined by the fluorescence intensity of γH2AX using flow cytometry. The mRNA expressions of Ku70 and Ku80 were determined using quantitative real-time PCR. Combination of STL127705 enhanced sensitivity of NSCLC cell lines to irradiation when compared with treatment with gemcitabine alone. However, small cell lung cancer cell line was not affected. H1299 cells treated with STL127705 in combination with gemcitabine showed a significantly increased apoptosis compared with H1299 cells treated with gemcitabine alone. Moreover, STL127705 treatment dramatically reduced NHEJ activity in H1299 cells when compared with gemcitabine single treatment. Increased DSBs were consistently observed in H1299 when treated with the combination of STL127705 and gemcitabine. However, the mRNA levels of Ku70 and Ku80 were upregulated by the combination treatment. It demonstrated that STL127705 enhanced antitumor activity of gemcitabine. Mechanistically, treatment with STL127705 enhanced DNA damage via inhibiting NHEJ pathway, blocking DNA-PK, and forming Ku70/80 heterodimer, eventually leading to tumor cells apoptosis.

RESUMO

Bacillus megaterium is well known as a plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium, but the relevant molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to elucidate the effects of B. megaterium HT517 on the growth and development of and the control of disease in greenhouse tomato and its mechanism of action. A pot experiment was conducted to determine the effect of B. megaterium on tomato growth, and this experiment included the HT517 group (3.2 × 108 cfu/pot) and the control group (inoculated with the same amount of sterilized suspension). An antagonistic experiment and a plate confrontation experiment were conducted to study the antagonistic effect of B. megaterium and Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to determine the metabolite composition and metabolic pathway of HT517. PacBio+Illumina HiSeq sequencing was utilized for map sequencing of the samples. An in-depth analysis of the functional genes related to the secretion of these substances by functional bacteria was conducted. HT517 could secrete organic acids that solubilize phosphorus, promote root growth, secrete auxin, which that promotes early flowering and fruiting, and alkaloids, which control disease, and reduce the incidence of crown rot by 51.0%. The complete genome sequence indicated that the strain comprised one circular chromosome with a length of 5,510,339 bp (including four plasmids in the genome), and the GC content accounted for 37.95%. Seven genes (pyk, aceB, pyc, ackA, gltA, buk, and aroK) related to phosphate solubilization, five genes (trpA, trpB, trpS, TDO2, and idi) related to growth promotion, eight genes (hpaB, pheS, pheT, ileS, pepA, iucD, paaG, and kamA) related to disease control, and one gene cluster of synthetic surfactin were identified in this research. The identification of molecular biological mechanisms for extracellular secretion by the HT517 strain clarified that its organic acids solubilized phosphorus, that auxin promoted growth, and that alkaloids controlled tomato diseases.

RESUMO

AIM: The aim of this systematic review was to synthesize evidence on the application of the Omaha System in the education of nursing students and to provide advice for educators to apply the Omaha System to practice and research effectively and meaningfully. BACKGROUND: It is a necessary part of nursing education to provide students with informatics experience. The Omaha System is a standardized nursing terminology designed to enhance practice, documentation, and information management. DESIGN: A systematic review and narrative synthesis. METHODS: Studies from eight databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, CINAHL, PsycINFO, China Biology Medicine disc, CNKI, Wanfang Data) were systematically retrieved. Twenty-three articles were found and synthesized. RESULTS: Existing studies showed that the Omaha System was mainly applied in student community practice as a tool for guiding practice and collecting information, and the practice data were used by educators to analyse the outcomes of nursing education. Recently, the Omaha System was introduced into the classroom environment and achieved positive results in terms of teaching. Students' feedback on the use of the Omaha System was generally positive. CONCLUSIONS: The Omaha System can be an active teaching and learning tool for nursing education, and further research is needed to explore and realize its potential in the field of education.
