RESUMO

The soil-borne fungus Verticillium dahliae, the most notorious plant pathogen of the Verticillium genus, causes vascular wilts in a wide variety of economically important crops. The molecular mechanism of V. dahliae pathogenesis remains largely elusive. Here, we identify a small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO)-specific protease (VdUlpB) from V. dahliae, and find that VdUlpB facilitates V. dahliae virulence by deconjugating SUMO from V. dahliae enolase (VdEno). We identify five lysine residues (K96, K254, K259, K313 and K434) that mediate VdEno SUMOylation, and SUMOylated VdEno preferentially localized in nucleus where it functions as a transcription repressor to inhibit the expression of an effector VdSCP8. Importantly, VdUlpB mediates deSUMOylation of VdEno facilitates its cytoplasmic distribution, which allows it to function as a glycolytic enzyme. Our study reveals a sophisticated pathogenic mechanism of VdUlpB-mediated enolase deSUMOylation, which fortifies glycolytic pathway for growth and contributes to V. dahliae virulence through derepressing the expression of an effector.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: The restoration of as much normal function as possible has become an important goal following the endoprosthetic reconstruction. The objective of this study was to assess the functional outcome after endoprosthetic reconstruction for tumors around the knee and to explore prognostic factors of functional outcome. METHODS: We retrospectively collected data on patients who underwent tumor prosthetic replacements consecutively. Musculoskeletal Tumour Society score and Toronto Extremity Salvage Score were used to assess the functional outcome at 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 months after surgery. The logistic model was used to select factors that had potential predictive value for postoperative function. Potential prognostic factors included age, gender, tumor site, type of tumor, length of bone resection, type of prosthesis, length of prosthetic stem, chemotherapy, pathological fracture, and body mass index. RESULTS: At the 24 months after surgery, the mean musculoskeletal tumor society (MSTS) score was 81.4% and the mean Toronto extremity salvage score (TESS) was 83.6%. At the last follow-up, 68% of patients and 73% of patients received perfect or good MSTS score and TESS score, respectively. The multivariate analysis according to ordered-logit model showed that age < 35 years, distal femoral prosthesis, and length of bone resection < 14 cm were independent prognostic factors of better functional outcome. CONCLUSIONS: Endoprosthetic reconstruction may provide good functional results for most patients. Younger patients with distal femoral prosthesis and shorter resection of bone (on the premise of complete resection of tumor) are more likely to obtain satisfactory functional results after surgery.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The present study aimed to evaluate the indications, feasibility, clinical effectiveness and complications of the treatment with microwave in situ inactivation followed by curettage and bone grafting assisted with internal fixation, for the proximal humerus tumors. METHODS: The clinical data of 49 patients with primary or metastatic tumor of the proximal humerus who received intraoperative microwave inactivation in situ with curettage and bone grafting in our hospital from May 2008 to April 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS: There were 25 males and 24 females, with an average age of 57.6 ± 19.9 years (range, 20-81). All patients were followed up for 7 to 146 months, with an average period of 69.2 ± 39.8 months. Up to the last follow-up, 14 patients died. The 5-year overall survival was 67.3%, and 5-year tumor-specific survival was 71.4%. The 5-year tumor-specific survival rates were 100% for aggressive benign tumors or low potential malignancy tumors, 70.1% for primary malignancies, and 36.9% for metastatic tumors. The average preoperative MSTS, constant-Murley and VAS scores were 16.81 ± 3.85, 62.71 ± 12.56 and 6.75 ± 2.47, which were all significantly improved at 6 weeks after operation and at the final follow-up (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Microwave inactivation in situ and curettage and bone grafting are a feasible treatment for tumors of proximal humeral, especially for malignant tumors and metastases, without the necessity of the replacement of the shoulder, with little trauma and good upper limb function, and with low local recurrence and distant metastasis.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To investigate the impact of COVID-19 on the treatment of children with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). METHODS: We retrospectively collected and compared the data of patients with CDH admitted between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021(study group) with the CDH patients admitted before the pandemic between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2019 (control group). RESULTS: During the pandemic, 41 patients with CDH diagnosed prenatally were transferred to our hospital, and 40 underwent surgical repair. The number of patients treated in our hospital increased by 24.2% compared with the 33 patients before the pandemic. During the pandemic, the overall survival rate, postoperative survival rate and recurrence rate were 85.4%, 87.5% and 7.3%, respectively, and there were no significant differences compared with the control group (75.8%, 83.3% and 9.1%, respectively). The average length of hospital stay in patients admitted during the pandemic was longer than that in the control group (31 days vs. 16 days, P < 0.001), and the incidence of nosocomial infection was higher than that in the control group (19.5% vs. 3%, P = 0.037). CONCLUSIONS: CDH patients confirmed to be SARS-CoV-2 infection-free can receive routine treatment. Our data indicate that the implementation of protective measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with appropriate screening and case evaluation, do not have a negative impact on the prognosis of children.

RESUMO

Desaturase is one of the key enzymes in the unsaturated fatty acid synthesis pathway. Δ9 desaturase catalyzes the synthesis of oleic acid from stearic acid by introducing double bonds in the 9th and 10th carbon chains, thereby increasing the content of MUFAs in the body. In order to explore the main function of the Δ9 desaturase gene under low temperature stress, RACE-PCR technology was used in this study to clone the full-length sequence of the CqFAD9-like from the hepatopancreas of red claw crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus. The full length of the sequence is 1236 bp, and the open reading frame is 1041 bp, encoding 346 amino acid residues. The 5 'UTR is 116 bp, the 3' UTR is 79 bp, and the 3 'UTR contains a PloyA tail. The predicted theoretical isoelectric point and molecular weight are 8.68 and 40.28 kDa, respectively. Homology analysis showed that the sequence had the highest similarity with FAD9 from crustaceans. The results of real-time PCR showed that the expression level of this gene was highest in the hepatopancreas, which was significantly higher than other tissues, followed by the ovaries, brain ganglion and stomach. At the same time, the expression of the CqFAD9-like in hepatopancreas of crayfish cultured at 25, 20, 15 and 9 °C for four weeks was detected. The results showed that expression of the FAD9 gene increased gradually with decreasing temperature, indicating that metabolic desaturation might play a regulatory role during cold stress.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: This study was undertaken to investigate the relationship between bisphosphonate use and intraoperative blood loss following surgery for metastatic spinal disease. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed cancer patients who were treated by metastatic spinal tumor surgery at our institution. Recorded data included intraoperative blood loss, timing and duration of bisphosphonate use, and other important confounding factors. We showed the results of crude model, minimally adjusted model, and fully adjusted model to fully observe the effects of bisphosphonates under different adjustment strategies. The timing and duration of bisphosphonate exposure were assessed and statistical results were tested to identify a trend. RESULTS: A total of 467 patients were treated by metastatic spinal tumor surgery, with or without bisphosphonate treatments. In all adjustment strategies, intraoperative blood loss was lower in patients using bisphosphonates than in patients without bisphosphonate treatments. In the fully adjusted model, the effect size, confidence interval, and p value were -246.4, -447.0 to -45.8, and 0.017, respectively. In terms of duration, all three models showed the same duration-response relationship: a longer duration of bisphosphonate use accurately predicted a smaller amount of blood loss (p for trend <0.001). We observed an interaction between operative time and bisphosphonate use, the effect size in the bottom tertile group was significantly smaller than that in the other two groups. CONCLUSION: We found that the preoperative use of bisphosphonates could reduce the amount of intraoperative blood loss during metastatic spinal tumor surgery, especially for surgery with longer operative time.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Prosthesis-related complications, after knee reconstruction with endoprosthesis during operation for tumors around the knee, remain an unresolved problem which necessitate a revision or even an amputational surgery. The purpose of the current study was to identify significant risk factors associated with implant failure, and establish a novel model to predict survival of the prosthesis in patients operated with endoprostheses for tumor around knee. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical database of our institution for patients who underwent knee reconstruction due to tumors. A total of 203 patients were included, including 123 males (60.6%) and 80 (39.4%) females, ranging in age from 14 to 77 years (mean: 34.3 ± 17.3 years). The cohort was randomly divided into training (n = 156) and validation (n = 47) samples. Univariable COX analysis was used for initially identifying potential independent predictors of prosthesis survival with the training group (p < 0.150). Multivariate COX proportional hazard model was selected to identify final significant prognostic factors. Using these significant predictors, a graphic nomogram, and an online dynamic nomogram were generated for predicting the prosthetic survival. C-index and calibration curve were used for evaluate the discrimination ability and accuracy of the novel model, both in the training and validation groups. RESULTS: The 1-, 5-, and 10-year prosthetic survival rates were 94.0, 90.8, and 83.0% in training sample, and 96.7, 85.8, and 76.9% in validation sample, respectively. Anatomic sites, length of resection and length of prosthetic stem were independently associated with the prosthetic failure according to multivariate COX regression model (p<0.05). Using these three significant predictors, a graphical nomogram and an online dynamic nomogram model were generated. The C-indexes in training and validation groups were 0.717 and 0.726 respectively, demonstrating favourable discrimination ability of the novel model. And the calibration curve at each time point showed favorable consistency between the predicted and actual survival rates in training and validation samples. CONCLUSIONS: The length of resection, anatomical location of tumor, and length of prosthetic stem were significantly associated with prosthetic survival in patients operated for tumor around knee. A user-friendly novel online model model, with favorable discrimination ability and accuracy, was generated to help surgeons predict the survival of the prosthesis.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Venous thromboembolism can be divided into deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. These diseases are a major factor affecting the clinical prognosis of patients and can lead to the death of these patients. Unfortunately, the literature on the risk factors of venous thromboembolism after surgery for spine metastatic bone lesions are rare, and no predictive model has been established. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed 411 cancer patients who underwent metastatic spinal tumor surgery at our institution between 2009 and 2019. The outcome variable of the current study is venous thromboembolism that occurred within 90 days of surgery. In order to identify the risk factors for venous thromboembolism, a univariate logistic regression analysis was performed first, and then variables significant at the P value less than 0.2 were included in a multivariate logistic regression analysis. Finally, a nomogram model was established using the independent risk factors. RESULTS: In the multivariate logistic regression model, four independent risk factors for venous thromboembolism were further screened out, including preoperative Frankel score (OR=2.68, 95% CI 1.78-4.04, P=0.001), blood transfusion (OR=3.11, 95% CI 1.61-6.02, P=0.041), Charlson comorbidity index (OR=2.01, 95% CI 1.27-3.17, P=0.013; OR=2.29, 95% CI 1.25-4.20, P=0.017), and operative time (OR=1.36, 95% CI 1.14-1.63, P=0.001). On the basis of the four independent influencing factors screened out by multivariate logistic regression model, a nomogram prediction model was established. Both training sample and validation sample showed that the predicted probability of the nomogram had a strong correlation with the actual situation. CONCLUSION: The prediction model for postoperative VTE developed by our team provides clinicians with a simple method that can be used to calculate the VTE risk of patients at the bedside, and can help clinicians make evidence-based judgments on when to use intervention measures. In clinical practice, the simplicity of this predictive model has great practical value.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Talc pleurodesis is an effective treatment for malignant pleural effusions (MPEs). This study was designed to estimate complication rates of thoracoscopic talc insufflation. METHODS: Literature search was conducted in electronic databases and studies were selected if they reported complication rates of thoracoscopic talc insufflation in cancer patients with MPEs. Meta-analyses of proportions were performed to obtain incidence rates of complications. RESULTS: Twenty-six studies (4482 patients; age 62.9 years [95% confidence interval (CI): 61.5, 64.4]; 50% [95% CI: 43, 58] females) were included. Intraoperative, perioperative, 30-day, and 90-day mortality rates were 0% [95% CI: 0, 1], 2% [95% CI: 0, 4], 7% [95% CI: 3, 13] and 21% [95% CI: 5, 43] respectively. Incidence rates [95% CI] of various complications were: pain (20% [1, 2]), fever (14% [3, 4]), dyspnea (13% [5, 6]), pneumothorax (6% [7, 8]) pneumonia (4% [0, 12]), emphysema (3% [3, 7]), prolonged air leakage (3% [0, 7]), prolonged drainage (3% [9, 10]), thromboembolism (3% [9, 11]), lung injury (2% [7, 12]), respiratory insufficiency (2% [0, 5]), re-expansion pulmonary edema (1% [0, 3]), empyema (1% [0, 2]), respiratory failure (0% [0, 1]), and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS; 0% [0, 1]. CONCLUSIONS: Whereas pain and fever were the most frequent complications of thoracoscopic talc insufflation, the incidence of ARDS was low. Pneumothorax, pneumonia, emphysema, prolonged air leakage, pulmonary embolism, arrythmia, re-expansion pulmonary edema, and empyema are important complications of thoracoscopic talc insufflation.

RESUMO

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 has spread rapidly around the world and is a significant threat to global health. Patients in the Neonatal Surgery Department have rapidly progressing diseases and immature immunity, which makes them vulnerable to pulmonary infection and a relatively higher mortality. This means that these patients require multidisciplinary treatment including early diagnosis, timely transport, emergency surgery and intensive critical care. The COVID-19 pandemic poses a threat to carrying out these treatments. To provide support for the health protection requirements of the medical services in the Neonatal Surgery Department, we developed recommendations focusing on patient transport, surgery selection and protection requirements with the aim of improving treatment strategies for patients and preventing infection in medical staff during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

RESUMO

Herein, we report an enantioselective dehydrative γ-arylation of α-indolyl propargylic alcohols with phenols via organocatalysis, which provides efficient access to chiral tetrasubstituted allenes and naphthopyrans in high yields with excellent regio- and enantioselectivities under mild conditions. This method features the use of cheaply available naphthols/phenols as the C-H aryl source and liberating water as the sole byproduct. Control experiments suggest that the excellent enantioselectivity and remote regioselectivity stem from dual hydrogen-bonding interaction with the chiral phosphoric acid catalyst.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Due to the particularity of patients with bone tumors, the risk of periprosthetic infection following megaprosthetic replacement is much higher than that of traditional total knee arthroplasty. Unfortunately, few studies specifically reported the risk factors for periprosthetic infection following megaprosthetic replacement. The purposes of the study were to (1) establish a nomogram model, which can provide a reference for clinicians, and patients to reduce the occurrence of periprosthetic infection (2) explore the risk factors for deep infection of megaprosthesis. HYPOTHESIS: A prediction model can be established and has favorable predictive accuracy. PATIENTS AND METHODS: One hundred and seventy-seven megaprostheses were identified. There were 61 female patients and 116 male patients with a mean age of 35 years. The following risk factors were analyzed: tumor site, sex, age, material for prosthetic stem, tumor type, smoking, diabetes, length of bone resection, operation time, chemotherapy, BMI, malignant tumor staging and hematoma formation. Finally, based on the multivariate analysis, the independent risk factors were used to develop a nomogram model. RESULTS: Univariate Cox regression analysis showed that the chemotherapy, longer operation time and hematoma formation were risk factors for periprosthetic infection. Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the chemotherapy, longer operation time and hematoma formation were significant risk factors for periprosthetic infection. The nomogram model was established using these significant risk factors, with a C-index of 0.766 and an acceptable consistency according to the internal validation, indicating that the prediction model had favorable predictive accuracy. DISCUSSION: This study has important implications for the future investigations of prevention of periprosthetic infection. The nomogram model identifies high-risk patients for whom attached prophylaxis measures are required. Future studies regarding reduction of incidence of periprosthetic infection should pay close attention to these high-risk patients. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: IV, retrospective, cohort study.

RESUMO

We report the first example of the construction of chiral 2,3-benzodiazepine compounds which are of biologic and pharmaceutical relevance by asymmetric catalysis. Catalyzed by a thiazolium-derived carbene and a palladium-chiral bidentate phosphine complex in sequence, one-pot reaction between 1-(2-(2-nitrovinyl)aryl)allyl esters 1 with azodicarboxylates 2 took place efficiently at ambient temperature to produce 4-nitro-1-vinyl-1H-2,3-benzodiazepine-2,3-dicarboxylates 5 in good to excellent yields with an enantiomeric ratio of up to 95:5.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Aseptic loosening has become the main cause of prosthetic failure in medium- to long-term follow-up. The objective of this study was to establish and validate a nomogram model for aseptic loosening after tumor prosthetic replacement around knee. METHODS: We collected data on patients who underwent tumor prosthetic replacements. The following risk factors were analyzed: tumor site, stem length, resection length, prosthetic motion mode, sex, age, extra-cortical grafting, custom or modular, stem diameter, stem material, tumor type, activity intensity, and BMI. We used univariate and multivariate Cox regression for analysis. Finally, the significant risk factors were used to establish the nomogram model. RESULTS: The stem length, resection length, tumor site, and prosthetic motion mode showed a tendency to be related to aseptic loosening, according to the univariate analysis. Multivariate analysis showed that the tumor site, stem length, and prosthetic motion mode were independent risk factors. The internal validation indicated that the nomogram model had acceptable predictive accuracy. CONCLUSIONS: A nomogram model was developed for predicting the prosthetic survival rate without aseptic loosening. Patients with distal femoral tumors and those who are applied with fixed hinge and short-stem prostheses are more likely to be exposed to aseptic loosening.

RESUMO

Nrf2/Keap1 pathway is associated with oxidative stress. l-carnitine is currently under preclinical evaluation as a antioxidant, but the use of l-carnitine in aquaculture has been poorly evaluated and so far no mechanism has been demonstrated. Here, we explored the effects of l-carnitine in vitro and in vivo and discussed the possible molecular mechanisms involved. Firstly, Nrf2-siRNA significantly knocked down the mRNA level of Nrf2 in FHM cells. Thus, the activities of antioxidant enzymes (T-SOD, CAT, GSH-PX) and the level of antioxidant substance (GSH) and the level of MDA showed that Nrf2-siRNA pretreatment weakened the protective effect of l-carnitine. Moreover, the mRNA levels of Keap1, Nrf2, Maf and HO-1 indicated that l-carnitine regulated Nrf2/Keap1 activation. Furthermore, oxidized fish oil remarkably suppressed growth in Rhynchocypris lagowski Dybowski, and the lower antioxidant capacity was also observed in liver. According to the results of immune related indexes (the levels of IL-1ß, TNF-α, LZM, AKP) in serum and the mRNA levels of immune related genes (NF-κB, IL-1ß, TNF-α, IL-8, IL-10 and TGF-ß) in liver, oxidized fish oil also induced inflammatory response in fish. Also, l-carnitine supplementation can relieve this bad condition. In conclusion, l-carnitine regulated Nrf2/Keap1 activation in vitro and in vivo and protected oxidized fish oil-induced inflammation response by inhibiting the NF-κB signaling pathway in Rhynchocypris lagowski Dybowski.

RESUMO

We report herein our serendipitous discovery of the rapid and straightforward accesses to unprecedented diverse complex molecular structures from readily available starting materials. Catalyzed by 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene under mild conditions, o-(1-(acyloxy)propargyl)benzaldehydes 1 underwent efficient and selective dimerization reactions to produce novel complex bisether-bridged tricyclic products 3 and 4. The reactions proceeded most probably through dimerizations between 3-methylene-3H-isochromene intermediate and its zwitterionic resonance structures which were generated from a concerted 6-π electrocyclic ring closure reaction from the initially formed (2-formylphenyl)allene intermediates derived directly from o-(1-(acyloxy)propargyl)benzaldehydes. Treatment of the resulting product simply with NaOEt in ethanol and aqueous HCl, respectively, enabled further development of complex molecular diversities.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Capn4 and ZEB1 play important roles in the metastasis of several types of cancer. However, the roles and relationship of Capn4 and ZEB1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remain unclear. METHODS: ESCC tumor tissues and corresponding normal esophageal epithelial tissues were obtained from 86 patients undergoing resection surgery at the Department of General Surgery, First Affiliated Hospital of Chinese PLA General Hospital from 2012 to 2017. Cell migration and invasion were examined via quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot assay. RESULTS: Our results indicate that both Capn4 and ZEB1 are significantly upregulated in ESCC tissues compared to corresponding adjacent tissues, and a positive correlation between expression and associated malignant characteristics was found. Silencing of Capn4 expression markedly inhibited ESCC invasion and metastasis in vitro and in vivo, and was accompanied by decreased ZEB1 expression. Furthermore, the anti-metastasis role of Capn4 silencing was reversed by ZEB1 overexpression, whereas knockdown of ZEB1 decreased ESCC metastasis driven by the upregulation of Capn4. Mechanistically, Capn4 regulated ZEB1 expression via activation of the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway in ESCC cells. CONCLUSION: Overall, our results show that enhanced Capn4 expression activates the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway, resulting in increased ZEB1 expression and the promotion of ESCC cell metastasis.

RESUMO

Desaturase enzymes play an important role in the synthesis of unsaturated fatty acids. In this study, a complete cDNA sequence of a Δ6 desaturase-like gene was cloned from the hepatopancreas of the red claw crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus. The full-length 1885 bp sequence comprises a 5' UTR of 254 bp, 3' UTR of 234 bp, and an open reading frame (ORF) of 1377 bp encoding a 458 amino acid polypeptide (GenBank accession no. MF497442). Bioinformatics analysis revealed three conserved histidine-rich regions, a cytochrome b5 domain at the N-terminus, and a haem binding site (HPGG) in the cytochrome b5 domain, all of which are typical of Δ6 desaturases. Quantitative real-time PCR demonstrated significantly higher expression in the hepatopancreas than other tissues. After feeding crayfish four formulated diets in which fish oil was replaced by 0, 33, 67, or 100% highly unsaturated soybean oil for 8 weeks, Δ6 desaturase-like mRNA expression and enzyme activity were higher than in the fish oil only group. Additionally, a 4-week low temperature treatment at 25, 20, 15, or 9 °C increased Δ6 desaturase mRNA expression and enzyme activity with decreasing water temperature. These results may help us better understand the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids in C. quadricarinatus.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Femoral neck fracture is considered a difficult fracture to treat and often gives rise to unsatisfactory treatment results. Cannulated cancellous screws (CCS) or a sliding hip screw (SHS) are the mainstream internal fixations used for osteosynthesis of femoral neck fractures. There is a need to integrate existing data through a meta-analysis to investigate the safety and effectiveness of CCS and SHS in the treatment of femoral neck fractures. METHOD: According to the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions, we screened for the relevant studies by searching Google Scholar, the Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, EMBASE, and PubMed. The PICOS criteria was used to make sure the included studies fulfilled the inclusion criteria. RESULTS: Pooled data showed that there were no significant differences between the SHS and CCS groups for the Harris Hip Score. Significant differences were found between the SHS and CCS groups in terms of union time, postoperative complications, blood loss, operation time, incision length and length of hospital stay. CONCLUSIONS: Although the SHS and CCS groups showed similar functional recovery in treatment of femoral neck fracture in terms of the Harris Hip Score, the SHS group showed fewer postoperative complications and faster union time for patients with femoral neck fractures. Therefore, compared with CCS, the use of SHS may be a more effective treatment of femoral neck fractures.

RESUMO

Intertrochanteric fractures are common injuries in the elderly. Conventional intramedullary nails including Gamma 3 locking nail and proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) were designed for unstable intertrochanteric fractures. The InterTan (IT) nail system, introduced in 2005, has been reported superior biomechanical and clinical outcomes compared with 1-screw nailing system. However, some recent studies have reported that IT did not improve functional recovery in patients with intertrochanteric fractures. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) or prospective cohort studies were included in our meta-analysis. We used the PRISMA guidelines and Cochrane Handbook to evaluate the quality of included studies to ensure that the pooled data of our meta-analysis were reliable and veritable. Our pooled data analysis demonstrated that IT was as effective as the control group in terms of Harris Hip Score (HHS), blood loss, total complications, union time, length of hospital stay, revision rate, and fluoroscopy time. IT shows less implant cut-out rate and femoral fractures when compared with control groups.
