To further develop Liupao tea products and enhance their flavor, this study investigated the effects of different fermentation methods on the aroma quality of Liupao tea. The aroma quality of Liupao tea was comprehensively analyzed using HS-SPME in combination with GC-Q-TOF-MS, electronic nose, and sensory evaluations. Electronic nose detection showed that the aroma fingerprints of Liupao tea samples with different fermentation methods were different. Sulfides, alcohols, ketones, and methyls were the main aroma categories affecting the aroma of the four groups of Liupao tea samples. GC-Q-TOF-MS analysis revealed significant differences in the composition of aroma components among the four fermentation methods of Liupao tea (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the total amount of aroma compounds was found to be highest in the group subjected to hot fermentation combined with the inoculation of Monascus purpureus (DMl group). Based on the OPLS-DA model, candidate differential aroma components with VIP > 1 were identified, and characteristic aroma compounds were selected based on OAV > 10. The key characteristic aroma compounds shared by the four groups of samples were 1,2,3-Trimethoxybenzene with a stale aroma and nonanal with floral and fruity aromas. The best sensory evaluation results were obtained for the DMl group, and its key characteristic aroma compounds mainly included 1,2,3-Trimethoxybenzene, nonanal, and cedrol. The results of this study can guide the development of Liupao tea products and process optimization.

Introduction: Physical exercise is considered a useful non-pharmacological adjunctive treatment for promoting recovery from substance use disorders (SUD). However, adherence to physical exercise treatments is low, and little is known about what factors are associated with the initiation and maintenance of physical exercise behaviors. The aim of this study was to explore the psychosocial factors underlying these behaviors in individuals with SUD using an integrated theoretical model based on the health action process approach (HAPA) and the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Methods: A total of 1,197 individuals with SUDs (aged 37.20 ± 8.62 years) were recruited from 10 compulsory isolation drug rehabilitation centers in Zhejiang Province via convenience sampling according to a set of inclusion criteria. Self-reported data were collected to assess task self-efficacy (TSE), maintenance self-efficacy (MSE), recovery self-efficacy (RSE), outcome expectations (OE), action planning (AP), coping planning (CP), social support (SS), subjective norms (SN), attitude behavior (AB), behavioral intention (BI), perceived behavioral control (PBC), risk perception (RP), exercise stage, and exercise behavior in this integrated model. ANOVA and structural equation modeling (SEM) were used to evaluate this model. Results: One-way ANOVA revealed that the majority of the moderating variables were significantly different in the exercise phase. Further SEM showed that the model fit the data and revealed several important relationships. TSE, RP, SS, AB, and SN were indirectly associated with physical exercise behavior in individuals with SUD through the BI in the SUD initiation stage. In addition, PBC was directly related to physical exercise behavior in individuals with SUD. In the maintenance stage, MSE, AP, CP and exercise behavior were significantly related. Moreover, AP and CP were mediators of BI and MSE. Conclusion: This study is the first attempt to integrate patterns of physical exercise behavior in individuals with SUD. The HAPA-TPB integration model provides a useful framework for identifying determinants of physical exercise behavioral intentions and behaviors in individuals with SUD and for explaining and predicting the initiation and maintenance of physical exercise behaviors in these individuals. Moreover, the model provides scientific guidance for the enhancement of physical exercise adherence in individuals with SUD.

Aroma is a key indicator of the quality and value of Pu'er tea. A total of 36 aroma components were detected,which Saccharomyces, Rhizopus, and Aspergillus niger, were in the ratios of 2:1:2, 2:2:2, and 2:3:2 inoculated to ferment Pu'er tea, comparing with natural fermentation. In addition, 12 key aroma compounds were identified by analysing ROAVs. Methoxyphenyl compounds and ß-ionone were the primary contributors to the formation of aged and woody aroma when fermenting Pu'er tea naturally or using Rhizopus, while linalool and its oxides, benzyl alcohol, hexanal, and limonene were the primary contributors to the formation of floral and fruity aroma when fermenting Pu'er tea using synergistic fermentation with Saccharomyces, Rhizopus, and Aspergillus niger. This study identified the key aroma components of the Pu'er tea fermented using five methods, which revealed and demonstrated the potential application of synergistic effects of different microorganisms in the changes of aroma of Pu'er tea.

In this study, we employed nontargeted metabolomics and quantitative analysis to explore the variations in metabolites among white teas from different production areas and with varying storage durations. A total of 83 compounds exhibited differential levels between Zhenghe and Fuding white tea, 89 between Zhenghe and Jinggu, and 75 between Fuding and Jinggu white tea. Concerning the storage of white tea, the concentrations of flavanols, dimeric catechins, and amino acids decreased over time, while N-ethyl-2-pyrrolidone-substituted flavanols (EPSFs), caffeine, adenosine monophosphate (AMP), and adenosine increased. Galloylated flavanols showed a higher propensity to form EPSFs with theanine compared to nongalloylated flavanols during storage. Theanine and epigallocatechin gallate were more inclined to generate S-configuration EPSFs during storage in Fuding and Jinggu white tea samples, while R-configuration EPSFs were more readily formed in Zhenghe white tea samples. This study offers a comprehensive understanding of the changes in metabolites during the storage of white tea.

The present study aimed to explore the key volatile compounds (VCs) that lead to the formation of characteristic flavors in ripe Pu-erh tea (RIPT) fermented by Monascus purpureus (M. purpureus). Headspace solid-phase microextraction coupled with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS), orthogonal partial least square-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) were employed for a comprehensive analysis of the VCs present in RIPT fermented via different methods and were further identified by odor activity value (OAV). The VCs 1,2-dimethoxybenzene, 1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene, (E)-linalool oxide (pyranoid), methyl salicylate, linalool, ß-ionone, ß-damascenone were the key characteristic VCs of RIPT fermented by M. purpureus. OAV and Gas chromatography-olfactometry (GC-O) further indicated that ß-damascenone was the highest contribution VCs to the characteristic flavor of RIPT fermented by M. purpureus. This study reveals the specificities and contributions of VCs present in RIPT under different fermentation methods, thus providing new insights into the influence of microorganisms on RIPT flavor.

We aim to improve the product quality of GABA raw Pu-erh tea during development and processing. In this study, headspace solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry technology combined with relative odor activity evaluations was used to compare the volatile compounds of GABA sun-dried green tea and GABA raw Pu-erh tea. Sensory evaluation showed a higher aroma score of GABA raw Pu-erh tea than that of GABA sun-dried green tea, with significant differences in aroma type and purity. A total of 147 volatile compounds of 13 categories were detected, which differed in composition and quantity between the two teas. 2-Buten-1-one,1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-1,3-cyclohexadien-1-yl)-,(E)- and beta.-myrcene largely contributed to the aroma formation of both teas. Five volatile compounds were screened as potential markers for tea aroma. Metabolic pathway analysis showed that monoterpenoid biosynthesis may be beneficial to the formation of flowery and fruity aromas in the teas. We suggest that the findings of this study may provide important guidance for the processing and optimization of GABA tea.

OBJECTIVE: Evidence suggests that gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) improve osteogenic differentiation of periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs), PTEN-induced putative kinase 1 (PINK1) dependent mitophagy modulates inter-clonal communication among PDLSCs with osteogenic heterogeneity, but the mechanism remains vague. Therefore, the current research assessed the influence of AuNPs on proliferation, osteogenic differentiation and mitophagy of PDLSCs and the potential mechanism was analyzed. METHODS: Gold nanospheres with a diameter of 5, 10, 20, 40, and 80 nm were synthesized and characterized through transmission electron microscopy, and rat PDLSCs were isolated using flow sorting. Next, PDLSCs were treated with AuNPs or PINK1 lentivirus to obtain its overexpression or suppression. Proliferation and osteogenic differentiation were evaluated by CCK-8, ALP staining, ARS staining, and immunoblotting of OCN, OPN, RUNX2, ALP, BMP2, and COL1. Mitochondrial quality, homeostasis and quantity were assessed though JC-1 staining, immunoblotting of Tom20, Tim23 and HSP60 and mitochondrial ROS detection. PINK1, Parkin, Beclin1 and LC3 expression was quantified to investigate mitophagy, using RT-qPCR and immunoblotting and the formation of RFP-GFP-LC3-labeled autophagosomes were also measured. RESULTS: The proliferation ability of PDLSCs almost reached the maximum under 20 nm AuNPs for 24 h. AuNPs enhanced the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of PDLSCs, improved mitochondrial quality and homeostasis as well as attenuated mitochondrial quantity. Additionally, mitophagy was enhanced by PDLSCs. Activation of PINK1 synergistically enhanced AuNPs-mediated mitophagy, mitochondrial quality, homeostasis and osteogenic differentiation in PDLSCs, obtaining opposite effects when PINK1 was suppressed. CONCLUSION: AuNPs enhance proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of PDLSCs through PINK1-mediated mitophagy.

Few-shot semantic segmentation has attracted much attention because it requires only a few labeled samples to achieve good segmentation performance. However, existing methods still suffer from insufficient contextual information and unsatisfactory edge segmentation results. To overcome these two issues, this paper proposes a multi-scale context enhancement and edge-assisted network (called MCEENet) for few-shot semantic segmentation. First, rich support and query image features were extracted, respectively, using two weight-shared feature extraction networks, each consisting of a ResNet and a Vision Transformer. Subsequently, a multi-scale context enhancement (MCE) module was proposed to fuse the features of ResNet and Vision Transformer, and further mine the contextual information of the image by using cross-scale feature fusion and multi-scale dilated convolutions. Furthermore, we designed an Edge-Assisted Segmentation (EAS) module, which fuses the shallow ResNet features of the query image and the edge features computed by the Sobel operator to assist in the final segmentation task. We experimented on the PASCAL-5i dataset to demonstrate the effectiveness of MCEENet; the results of the 1-shot setting and 5-shot setting on the PASCAL-5i dataset are 63.5% and 64.7%, which surpasses the state-of-the-art results by 1.4% and 0.6%, respectively.

Assessment Tools have become the de facto method to address sustainability issues within the built environment. They provide a measurable third-party approach to ensuring sustainability design and directives are met through the use of indictors, criteria's and credit system. A key challenge is that the existing tools such as BREEAM Communities and LEED Neighbourhood Development address a wider community but cannot efficiently address the more nuanced and context specific sustainability requirements of campuses. However, the approach of utilizing credits, indicator and criteria systems is a tactic that campus planners have slowly began to imbibe. This is even more critical to sustainable development cities due to the huge amounts of land and human resources consumed on campuses; However, gaps exist within the currently existing Campus Sustainability Assessment Tools (CSAT) that have been developed. Generally. Though studies have identified trends and gaps in neighbourhood and building assessment tools, no comprehensive study has investigated the potential gaps from the newly emerging CSATs. Using bibliometric analysis, this study reviews over 1000 articles on campus sustainability and assessment tools with the aim of determining the gaps, trends and focus area of campus sustainability via CSAT. The result draw out 15 dimensions that govern the design of sustainable campuses, and the most predominant dimensions were environmental, educational and governance dimension. The results also highlight the importance of context in implementing and developing CSATs and showed numerous overlooked campus sustainability issues, which have considerable impact on the determining the claims that makes campuses sustainable. Finally, results demonstrated a need to enhance inclusivity in decision making on campus via different survey techniques in both education and implementation of campus sustainability initiatives. In sum this study enhances the development of new CSAT and campus sustainability initiative and the modification existing initiatives to effectively meet the required sustainability standards within the built environment.

The present study aimed to explore the relationship between the grade and the characteristic aroma in Keemun black tea (KBT). Headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), sensory evaluation, and chemometrics were employed to determine the changes in the flavor evolution of KBT at grade. The results showed that a total of 110 volatile components were identified. Linalool and linalool oxide were dominant. The orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) combined with relative odor activity value (rOAV > 0.1) revealed that 11 volatile components were the key volatile compounds of KBT, such as benzeneacetaldehyde (rOAV: 3.43-5.96) and methyl salicylate (rOAV: 2.15 - 2.50). Furthermore, the partial least squares (PLS) model indicated that geraniol, linalool, and methyl salicylate benefited from the reservation of floral flavor of Keemun aroma characteristic of KBT. The findings presented in this thesis add to our understanding of KBT at different grades.

For the urgent need for fermentation control and product quality improvement of Pu-erh tea, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and odor activity value (OAV) were used to comprehensively investigate the flavor-active compounds during artificial fermentation of Pu-erh tea. A flavor wheel was constructed to expound the sensory attributes evolution during fermentation. With an increased total volatiles content, 43 were significantly up-regulated and 30 were down-regulated among 131 detected volatiles. Key active compounds of three aroma types, namely fresh fragrance, fruit-fungus fragrance and stale-Qu fragrance, were analyzed based on OAV. ß-damascenone was firstly found contributing most to the aroma of Pu-erh tea, followed by 1,2,3-methoxybenzene and (E,E)-2,4-nonadienal. γ-terpinene, linalool, 1,2,4-trimethoxybenzene, 1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene, and 4-ethylveratrol were identified as the potential markers responsible for aroma differences among three fermentation stages. Finally the metabolic evolution of key flavor-active compounds were systematically summarized. This study provides significant guidance in fermentation control and new product development of Pu-erh tea.

OBJECTIVE: Occupational stress of health care providers may lower the quality of care. Person-environment fit theory and practical evidence have indicated that various types of knowledge and skills of health care providers are differentially associated with occupational stress. Clinical pharmacists are an indispensable part of medical teams. Clinical pharmacists in China are generally under high occupational stress, but what kind of knowledge and skills can relieve their occupational stress remains unclear. This study aimed to assess the association between the specific knowledge and skills of clinical pharmacists and their occupational stress in China. This study aimed to assess the association between the specific knowledge and skills of clinical pharmacists and their occupational stress in China. METHODS: A field questionnaire survey using a stratified sampling was conducted to gather data on occupational stress, knowledge and skills related to hospital pharmacy, and other factors of occupational stress using the Brief Job Stress Questionnaire and a self-developed instrument. Ordinary least squares regression was used to evaluate the association of the participants' knowledge, skills, and other factors with their occupational stress. RESULTS: A total of 625 clinical pharmacists from 311 tertiary hospitals in China (response rate = 84%) participated. Knowledge of or skills related to pharmaceutical care service provision (P = 0.02), the use of computers and the Internet in pharmacy practice (P = 0.02), interpersonal communication (P = 0.10), or pharmacoepidemiology (P = 0.08) was associated with reduced occupational stress of the participants. Participants who had credentials of nation-level specialized (P = 0.09) and general training (P = 0.04) for clinical pharmacist had lower degrees of occupational stress than those without these credentials. The participants' clinical professions, routine tasks, technical titles, and type of hospital they work in were also associated with their occupational stress. CONCLUSION: Enhancing several aspects of knowledge or skills among clinical pharmacists in tertiary hospitals in China may help reduce their occupational stress. Efforts are needed to improve the education and training system of clinical pharmacists in China.

BACKGROUND: Microbial fermentation significantly affects the flavor and efficacy of tea. It is generally believed that fermented tea is more effective in lowering lipids, while unfermented tea can more effectively inhibit inflammation. However, there is not sufficient evidence to support this claim. To systematically compare the hypolipidemic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-atherosclerotic effects of tea before and after microbial fermentation, hyperlipidemic rats and inflammatory injury cells were treated with Monascus purpureus-fermented pu-erh tea water extract (MPT) and sun-dried green tea water extract (SGT), respectively. RESULTS: MPT, with higher levels of theabrownins, flavonoids, gallic acid (GA), and lovastatin, was more effective in reducing serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1ß, and IL-6), while SGT, with higher levels of tea polyphenols, amino acids, (-)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), and theaflavins, was more effective in increasing serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in hyperlipidemic rats. The foam cells on the arterial wall of the rats in the MPT group were visibly less, and the thrombosis time was longer than that in the SGT group. Cell experiments showed that MPT was more effective in protecting endothelial cells from damage than SGT. CONCLUSION: Surprisingly, Monascus purpureus-fermented pu-erh tea not only had better hypolipidemic and anti-atherosclerotic effects than its raw material (sun-dried green tea), but also was superior in anti-inflammatory effects to the latter, which was possibly attributable to the great changes in functional ingredients during microbial fermentation.

INTRODUCTION: The efficacy of vitamin D for migraine remains controversial. We conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the influence of vitamin D versus placebo on treatment in migraine patients. METHODS: We search PubMed, EMbase, Web of Science, EBSCO, and Cochrane library databases through April 2020 for randomized controlled trials assessing the effect of vitamin D versus placebo on treatment efficacy in migraine patients. This meta-analysis is performed using the random-effect model. RESULTS: Five randomized controlled trials are included in the meta-analysis. Overall, compared with control group in migraine patients, vitamin D treatment is associated with substantially reduced number of headache days (standard mean difference [SMD], -0.53; 95% confidence interval [CI], -0.83 to -0.23; P = 0.0006), frequency of headache attacks (SMD, -1.09; 95% CI, -1.86 to -0.32; P = 0.006), headache severity (SMD, -0.55; 95% CI, -0.91 to -0.19; P = 0.0003), and Migraine Disability Assessment score (SMD, -0.76; 95% CI, -1.11 to -0.40; P < 0.0001). CONCLUSIONS: Vitamin D treatment is effective to alleviate migraine.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate socio-economic disparity in the global burden of occupational noise-induced hearing loss (ONIHL) using disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs). METHODS: The numbers of DALYs due to ONIHL, age-standardised DALY rates and national human development index (HDI) data from 1990 to 2017 were collected. The relationship between the age-standardised DALY rates and the 2017 HDI was analysed. A concentration index (CI) and a relative index of inequality (RII) were calculated to evaluate the trend in socio-economic disparity in the burden of ONIHL for the period 1990-2017. RESULTS: From 1990 to 2017, the global DALYs due to ONIHL increased from 3.3 to 6.0 million, with the highest growth occurring in low-income countries (110.7%). Age-standardised DALY rates due to ONIHL were negatively associated with the HDI (ß = -0.733, p<0.001), and these rates were significantly higher in countries with a lower HDI. From 1990 to 2017, the trend in between-country inequality was flat with little fluctuation, the CIs stayed near -0.17, and the RIIs remained near 0.35. CONCLUSIONS: Over the past few decades, low-income countries have experienced the most rapid growth in DALYs worldwide. A widening socio-economic disparity has persisted in the global burden of ONIHL, with a higher burden in lower socio-economic countries. These data suggest that more prevention programmes and healthcare services should be provided for developing countries.

Microfibers (MFs) are fibrous micro particles of longitude <5 mm, including natural fibers and fibrous microplastics. Microplastic pollution has become a world issue. As the major section of fiber production and processing, textile industry is an important potential source of microfibers, while receiving limited attention. To better understand the source and fate of textile microfibers, in this study, a typical textile industrial park in China is selected as the studying site. Microfibers in textile wastewater from typical textile mills and centralized wastewater treatments plants (WWTPs) of the park, and microfibers in nearby surface water were identified and characterized. The main results showed that the microfiber concentration in textile printing and dyeing wastewater could reach as high as 54,100 MFs/L. Although the removal efficiencies of microfibers by existing wastewater treatment processes can be over 85%, the average microfiber concentration in the effluents from the centralized WWTPs of the industrial park still reached 537.5 MFs/L, releasing 430 billion microfiber items per day. Microfiber release from textile wastewater is considerably higher than that from municipal sewage treatment plants, making it a significant contributor to microfibers in natural water bodies. Small-sized and colored microfibers increased in proportion in the treated effluents. Given the complex textile wastewater constituents, the potential negative environmental impacts of textile microfibers may be intensified by the enhanced adsorption and transfer of textile pollutants through these microfibers.

RESUMO

Elderly individuals' trust in general practitioners (GPs) is conducive to enhancing their health outcomes and promote healthy ageing. However, this trust has been declining in recent decades. Social capital is associated with patients' trust in healthcare providers in several countries, which make it a potential path for improving the trust of the elderly people in GPs in China, but it is not yet validated. The objective of this study was to explore how social capital influences elderly individuals' trust in GPs in China. The data were collected through a survey conducted with 2,754 people aged 60 and over in China, 2018. Multilevel regression models were employed to analyse the impact of social capital on the trust of the elderly people in GP in China. The results revealed that individual social capital (ISC) and community social capital (CSC) had significant positive correlations with the trust of the elderly people in GPs in China. In addition, CSC has more impact than ISC on the trust of the elderly people in GP. Additionally, older people, women and patients whose highest level of education was junior high school and who had participated in the New Cooperative Medical Scheme tended to have higher trust in GPs. In conclusion, more social capital, especially CSC, contributed more trust of the elderly people in GPs in China.

Designing biomimetic biomaterials influenced by the common complex structure of hard tissues is yet a test these days. The control of bio-mineralization procedure onto biomaterials should be assessed before the use in medical applications. Coming to the bone rejuvenation applications, this work assessed the in vitro antibacterial activity and interacting between osteoblast cells (MG63) on poly (hydroxypropyl methacrylate) (PHPMA) cryogel consolidated with Zn/Ce substituted hydroxyapatite (MHAp) nanocomposite (PHPMA/MHAp). Osteoblast cell multiplication, morphology, and metabolic action were assessed through various conventions. The functional group, texture, mechanical properties, and protein adsorption profiles of the fabricated nanocomposite were analyzed by the FTIR, XRD, SEM, and mechanical examinations, respectively. The bacterial activity of nanocomposites was additionally assessed against E. coli and S. aureus microorganisms, individually. Nanocomposite advanced endo-chondral ossification at the messed up parts of the bone deformity than cryogel did. These results recommend that PHPMA/MHAp nanocomposites joined the good innate properties of each polymer and bioceramic, giving a mechanically powerful, cell-responsive, and permeable stage for hard tissue applications.

Industrial solid waste coal gangue has huge utilization potential. Low-cost ceramic microsphere adsorbents were prepared from coal gangue by spray drying and sintering method and applied to remove cationic red X-5GN and cationic blue X-GRRL from aqueous solutions. The structural properties of the adsorbents were characterized. Adsorption kinetics, adsorption isotherms and effect of solution pH were studied. Adsorption mechanism and disposal of the spent adsorbents were also discussed. The results showed that the adsorption capacity of the cationic red and cationic blue onto the ceramic adsorbents was 1.044 mg g-1 and 2.170 mg g-1 respectively, according to the Langmuir model. The adsorption equilibrium time was quickly reached with the removal of both dyes over 90% within 1 min. The adsorbents exhibited favorable applicability with varying solution pH. Electrostatic attractions, n-π interactions and hydrogen bonding were proposed to be involved in the adsorption process based on the adsorption behavior. Using coal gangue ceramic adsorbents to treat colored wastewater could achieve the purpose of treating wastes with wastes. Therefore, the gangue adsorbent has promising application prospects for its comprehensive economic and environmental benefits.

BACKGROUND: A substantial number of epidemiological studies have investigated the possible associations between sunlight exposure and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), but the results from studies are inconsistent. The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the association between sunlight exposure and the risk of AMD. METHODS: Relevant studies were searched using databases including PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science database. Two authors independently extracted data and assessed study quality. The random-effects model was used to calculate the pooled covariates-adjusted odds ratio (OR). Subgroup analyses based on study design, stage of AMD, method of exposure assessment, and study latitude were carried out. The heterogeneity across the studies was tested, as was publication bias. RESULTS: Fourteen eligible studies including 43,934 individuals based on the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The pooled OR for sunlight exposure and AMD was 1.10 (95% CI = 0.98-1.23). In addition, similar insignificant results were observed in further subgroup analyses based on stage of AMD, method of exposure assessment, and study latitude. Sun-avoidance behavior did not decrease the risk of AMD (OR = 1.12, 95% CI = 0.76-1.67). Moderate heterogeneity was observed in most of analyses. CONCLUSION: The results indicate that sunlight exposure may not be associated with increased risk of AMD based on current published data.
