RESUMO

Based on previous theories and studies, fear of negative evaluation (FNE) may be a key predictor of suicidal ideation in adolescents. However, few studies examined the longitudinal relationships between FNE and suicidal ideation. This study aimed to explore the bidirectional longitudinal relationships between FNE and suicidal ideation. Meanwhile, based on the Interpersonal Theory of Suicide, this study would examine the longitudinal mediating role of interpersonal needs factors (thwarted belongingness and perceived burdensomeness) on the relationship between FNE and suicidal ideation. A sample of 515 adolescents (Mage = 12.309, SD = 0.807; 49.3 % girls) completed questionnaires on 4 waves, 6 months apart. The Random Intercept Cross-Lagged Panel Models (RI-CLPMs) were utilized to estimate the associations among study variables. The results showed that: (1) there was a significant bidirectional longitudinal relationship between FNE and suicidal ideation; (2) thwarted belongingness and perceived burdensomeness independently and serially mediated the relationship between FNE and suicidal ideation. This study contributed to understanding the complex relationship between FNE and suicidal ideation, emphasizing the critical roles of thwarted belongingness and perceived burdensomeness. The findings underscore the bidirectional nature of these associations and provide insights into the potential pathways involved in the development of suicidal ideation among adolescents.

RESUMO

The integrated landscape of ferroptosis regulatory patterns and their association with colon microenvironment have been demonstrated in recent studies. However, the ferroptosis-related immunotherapeutic signature for colon cancer (CC) remains unclear. We comprehensively evaluated 1623 CC samples, identified patterns of ferroptosis modification based on ferroptosis-associated genes, and systematically correlated these patterns with tumor microenvironment (TME) cell infiltration characteristics. In addition, the ferroptosis-regulated gene score (FRG-score) was constructed to quantify the pattern of ferroptosis alterations in individual tumors. Three distinct patterns of ferroptosis modification were identified, including antioxidant defense, iron toxicity, and lipid peroxidation. The characteristics of TME cell infiltration under these three patterns were highly consistent with the three immune phenotypes of tumors, including immune-inflamed, immune-excluded and immune-desert phenotypes. We also demonstrated that evaluation of ferroptosis regulatory patterns within individual tumors can predict tumor inflammatory status, tumor subtype, TME stromal activity, genetic variation, and clinical outcome. Immunotherapy cohorts confirmed that patients with low FRG-scores showed remarkable therapeutic and clinical benefits. Furthermore, the hub gene apolipoprotein L6 (APOL6), a drug-sensitive target associated with cancer cell ferroptosis, was identified through our proposed novel key gene screening process and validated in CC cell lines and scRNA-seq.

RESUMO

Research has demonstrated robust links between adolescent stress and serious psychological problems. The current study aimed to identify latent stress profiles of 1510 adolescents (59.7% females; Mage  = 16.77 years, SD = 0.86) based on five stresses (parental stresses, family environment stresses, academic stresses, teacher stresses, and peer stresses) at three time points (T1/2/3). Moreover, this study would investigate the transition patterns of these profiles over time and examine the associations between the profiles and adverse psychological symptoms (e.g., anxiety, depression, nonsuicidal self-injury [NSSI], and suicidal ideation). Three latent stress profiles were identified, including High-stress profile, Medium-stress profile, and Low-stress profile. The three profiles were significantly different on the levels of T1/2/3 anxiety, depression, NSSI, and suicidal ideation. The profile memberships remained relatively stable across three time points. Notably, the present study found gender differences, with boys were more likely to be in the High-stress profile and to transition from the Medium- to the High-stress profile, compared to girls. Furthermore, left-behind adolescents were more likely to be in the High-stress profile than non-left-behind adolescents. The findings highlight the importance of adopting 'this-approach-fits-this-profile' interventions for adolescents. Parents and teachers are advised to adopt different strategies for girls and boys.

RESUMO

The mechanical properties of polyurethane grouting materials were significantly improved when cement, sodium meta-silicate, red mud, slag, and fly ash were added. However, the grouting mechanisms of polyurethane composite materials are not clear. The grouting mechanisms of polyurethane composite materials in asphalt pavement subsidence were investigated. The results of computed tomography analysis show that polyurethane foam is filled with geopolymer hydration products. The results from ground penetrating radar after grouting show that mapping has no significant fluctuation or dislocation effect, which indicates that the grouting effect is strong. The high-density electrometer can also test the pavement subsidence place and distribution. The grouting mechanisms indicate that polyurethane foam acts as the consolidation structure, and the geopolymer filled with the foam pores of polyurethane and geopolymer forms a stable consolidated body. The seriflux includes under-layer seriflux (red mud, slag, water, and polyurethane composite materials) and upper-layer seriflux (polyurethane seriflux), and there exists a weak phase separation phenomenon, in which the separation phase is mainly polyurethane with little red mud-based geopolymer.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Previous studies have indicated that emotion reactivity is an important predictive factor for suicide ideation. However, the mechanism underlying their association has remained largely unexplored. The current study aims to investigate a serial mediation model to examine the potential mechanism in the relationship between emotion reactivity and suicide ideation. METHOD: A total of 5,423 Chinese adolescents (52.7% females, Mage = 14.63 years, SD = 1.25) completed self-report questionnaires regarding emotion reactivity, suicide ideation, distress intolerance, and depressive symptoms. Assessment was conducted for two waves, 6 months apart. RESULTS: In descriptive analyses, the prevalence of suicide ideation in this study was 15.3% for Wave 1 and 14.3% for Wave 2. Emotion reactivity, distress intolerance, and depressive symptoms were positively related to suicide ideation. In serial mediation analyses, there was a significant total effect of emotion reactivity on suicide ideation. After controlling for baseline variables, distress intolerance and depressive symptoms played serial mediating roles in the relation between emotion reactivity and suicide ideation, with emotion reactivity influencing suicide ideation through three mediation pathways. CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates a potential mechanism underlying the path from emotion reactivity to suicide ideation. Interventions that target emotion reactivity may be an effective way to reduce the risk of developing suicide ideation. HIGHLIGHTSEmotion reactivity was positively related to suicide ideation.Distress intolerance and depressive symptoms mediated the relationship between emotion reactivity and suicide ideation.Emotion reactivity also exerted an influence on suicide ideation through serial mediation of distress intolerance and depressive symptoms, after controlling for baseline variables.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) has become a significant mental health concern for adolescents. Previous empirical studies have shown that ambivalence over emotional expression is positively associated with negative emotions and behaviors. However, little is known about the relationship between ambivalence over emotional expression and NSSI among adolescents. Therefore, this study used a longitudinal design to examine the relationship between ambivalence over emotional expression and NSSI among Chinese adolescents, and also to explore the mediating and moderating mechanisms underlying this relationship. METHOD: A total of 1,672 students (45.8% males; Mage = 16.12 years, SD = 1.56) in a middle school in Guangzhou were tracked. The investigation was conducted twice, with an interval of 6 months. RESULTS: Ambivalence over emotional expression was positively correlated with NSSI. After controlling for gender and baseline NSSI, anxiety symptoms fully mediated the association between ambivalence over emotional expression and NSSI. In addition, the relationship between ambivalence over emotional expression and NSSI was moderated by NSSI refusal self-efficacy. CONCLUSIONS: These findings imply that to decrease ambivalence over emotional expression, to reduce anxiety symptoms, and to promote NSSI refusal self-efficacy may be useful for interventions and preventions of NSSI.HIGHLIGHTSTested the relationship between ambivalence over emotional expression and NSSI in adolescents.Examined a moderated-mediation model over six months.Found the mediated effect of anxiety symptoms and moderated effect of NSSI refusal self-efficacy in the relationship between ambivalence over emotional expression and NSSI.

RESUMO

The image fusion algorithm has great application value in the domain of computer vision, which makes the fused image have a more comprehensive and clearer description of the scene, and is beneficial to human eye recognition and automatic mechanical detection. In recent years, image fusion algorithms have achieved great success in different domains. However, it still has huge challenges in terms of the generalization of multi-modal image fusion. In reaction to this problem, this paper proposes a general image fusion framework based on an improved convolutional neural network. Firstly, the feature information of the input image is captured by the multiple feature extraction layers, and then multiple feature maps are stacked along the number of channels to acquire the feature fusion map. Finally, feature maps, which are derived from multiple feature extraction layers, are stacked in high dimensions by skip connection and convolution filtering for reconstruction to produce the final result. In this paper, multi-modal images are gained from multiple datasets to produce a large sample space to adequately train the network. Compared with the existing convolutional neural networks and traditional fusion algorithms, the proposed model not only has generality and stability but also has some strengths in subjective visualization and objective evaluation, while the average running time is at least 94% faster than the reference algorithm based on neural network.

RESUMO

Introduction: Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI), a significant predictor of suicide, is more frequent in sexual minorities (e.g., lesbian, gay, and bisexual) than in heterosexuals. The Minority Stress Model proposed that sexual minority stigma (SMS) may lead to maladaptive behaviors, including NSSI. However, the potential mechanism underlying the relationship between SMS and NSSI remains unclear. Therefore, the current study will examine the relationship between SMS and NSSI, and explore the serial mediating roles of sexual orientation concealment (SOC), self-criticism, and depression. Methods: A total of 666 individuals who self-identified as sexual minorities (64.0% male, M age = 24.49 years, SD = 6.50) completed questionnaires of SMS, SOC, self-criticism, depression, and NSSI, in 2020. Results: The findings indicated that (1) SMS, SOC, self-criticism, depression, and NSSI were positively correlated; (2) SOC, self-criticism, and depression independently played partial mediating roles between SMS and NSSI; and (3) SOC, self-criticism, and depression played serial mediating roles between SMS and NSSI. Conclusions: The current study supported the relation between SMS and NSSI among Chinese sexual minorities, and also implied a potential mechanism underlying the relation. Specifically, SMS was related to increased NSSI by higher SOC, self-criticism, and depression. SOC had dual-edged effects on NSSI. Policy Implications: To reduce NSSI and other psychological problems among sexual minorities, policy makers should take more measures to eliminate SMS. Specifically, policy makers are encouraged to provide more support for changing sexual minorities' living environment, such as repealing bills that could cause SMS and popularizing the knowledge about sexual orientation.

RESUMO

Automatic crack detection is always a challenging task due to the inherent complex backgrounds, uneven illumination, irregular patterns, and various types of noise interference. In this paper, we proposed a U-shaped encoder-decoder semantic segmentation network combining Unet and Resnet for pixel-level pavement crack image segmentation, which is called RUC-Net. We introduced the spatial-channel squeeze and excitation (scSE) attention module to improve the detection effect and used the focal loss function to deal with the class imbalance problem in the pavement crack segmentation task. We evaluated our methods using three public datasets, CFD, Crack500, and DeepCrack, and all achieved superior results to those of FCN, Unet, and SegNet. In addition, taking the CFD dataset as an example, we performed ablation studies and compared the differences of various scSE modules and their combinations in improving the performance of crack detection.

RESUMO

In this paper, a novel method of film thickness measurement based on weak measurements is proposed by analyzing the quantitative relationship between film thickness and the weak measurement amplified shift of the photonic spin Hall effect, and the corresponding measurement system is established to verify it through experiments. This method can measure the thickness of an arbitrary dielectric film with nanometer resolution. The theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the method is reasonable, feasible, and reliable, and the structure of the measurement system is simple, easy to operate, and easy to assemble into a prototype instrument. The measurement model and method provide not only a new way for the measurement of thin film thickness but also an important reference for the precise measurement of other optical interface parameters.

RESUMO

The NOx degradation performance of nano-TiO2 as a coating material for the road environment was evaluated in this research. The nano-TiO2 coating materials for both road surface and roadside were prepared by using anatase nano-TiO2, activated carbon powder, silane coupling agent and deionized water. The impact of varying amounts of coating material and silane coupling agent were evaluated. The road environment of NOx degradation was simulated by the photocatalytic test system designed by the research team. For the road surface coating, the photocatalytic degradation experiments of NO under different radiation intensities were carried out. The results show that the material has good photocatalytic degradation performance, and the proper amount of silane coupling agent can enhance the bonding performance of the material and asphalt mixture. For the roadside coating, sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate was selected as the surfactant to carry out the photocatalytic degradation experiment of NO2 with different dosages of surfactant. The results showed that when the mass ratio of nano-TiO2 and surfactant was about 1:2, the catalytic degradation effect of the material was the best.

RESUMO

A novel surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor based on Ag-Au bimetallic films with a hybrid structure of blue phosphorene (BlueP)/transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and graphene is presented. In order to improve the sensitivity, the thickness of silver and gold films is optimized to achieve minimum reflectivity and an adequate level of sensitivity; further, sensitivity for the monolayer BlueP/MoS2 and graphene structure is enhanced by 19.73%, with respect to a traditional sensor. Besides, the effect of layers of different Blue/TMDCs heterostructures to the sensitivity of the SPR biosensor is investigated, and the highest sensitivity with 335.4°/RIU for the bilayer BlueP/WS2 is obtained. Furthermore, distributions of the electric field and the changes of resonance angle to the refractive index of the sensing medium and prism in the visible regime are illustrated at optimal configuration. In virtue of highly sensitive characteristics, the proposed sensor structure will be a much better option to be employed for further biological detection.

RESUMO

We present a new apparatus for active compensation of wavefront aberrations by controllable heating of a lens using a film heater matrix. The annular electric film heater matrix, comprising 24 individual heaters, is attached to the periphery of a lens. Utilizing the linear superposition, and wavefront change proportional to the heating energy properties induced by heating, a controllable wavefront can be defined by solving a linear function. The two properties of wavefront change of a lens have been confirmed through a specially designed experiment. The feasibility of the compensation method is validated by compensating the wavefront of a plate lens. The results show that the wavefront of the lens changes from 12.52 to 2.95 nm rms after compensation. With a more precise electric controlling board, better results could be achieved.
