This study evaluated the efficiency of a rapid reinsemination program allowing timed AI (TAI) every 21d (ReBreed21) in a commercial beef cow-calf operation. Nelore females from different parities (n = 2085) were synchronized for first TAI (D0 = TAI) using an estradiol/progesterone (E2/P4) protocol and assigned to one of three reinsemination programs: Resynch33 (n = 753), traditional resynch program with second TAI at D42 after first TAI; ReBreed21 (n = 687); or ReBreed21+EC (n = 670). The ReBreed females (n = 1357) received intravaginal P4 insert on D12, on D19 P4 was removed, and a dose of equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) was administered, then, ReBreed21 females received 0.6 mg of EC (ReBreed21+EC) or nothing (ReBreed21) and on D21, nonpregnancy (NP) was determined using Doppler ultrasound to detect corpus luteum (CL) blood flow (BF) (NP: <25 % BF pixels of total CL area) and NP cows received immediate TAI and GnRH to induce ovulation. Pregnancy diagnosis was performed at D33 after TAI following all TAIs. Cows considered pregnant at D21, based on CL BF, but NP on D33 were designated False-Positives (FP) and false negatives (FN) were number of nonpregnant cows/heifers on d21 based on the CL BF found to subsequently be pregnant on D33 divided by the total number pregnant. Pregnancy/AI (P/AI) did not differ for the first TAI (55.1 %) among the treatments. Heifers had similar P/AI at the second AI in all groups and similar to the first AI. Primiparous had greater P/AI in ReBreed21+EC and Resynch33 at s TAI compared to ReBreed21, 51.7 %, 55.8 %, 34.2 %, respectively. Multiparous had greater P/AI at second TAI in Resynch33 (60.9 %) than ReBreed21 programs (34.7 %). The percentage FP and FN among ReBreed21 programs did not differ, 13.8 and 0.2 %, respectively. Overall accumulative pregnancies on D21 of the breeding season were greater for ReBreed21 and ReBreed21+EC than Resynch33 (69.7 %, 71.6 %, and 55.5 %, respectively). However, on D42 of the breeding season, only heifers had greater pregnancies in ReBreed21 programs than Resynch33 (73.3 %, 74.3.6 %, and 63.2 %, respectively). Average days to pregnancy were less (P = 0.01) for ReBreed21 and ReBreed21+EC than Resynch33. Thus, the ReBreed21 strategy can improve the efficiency of TAI programs in beef cattle. Of interest, ReBreed21 was particularly effective in nulliparous, somewhat effective in primiparous when EC was added to the program, but relatively ineffective in multiparous beef cattle.

Color pulsed-wave Doppler ultrasound (CPWD-US) emerges as a pivotal tool in intensive care units (ICUs) for diagnosing acute kidney injury (AKI) swiftly and non-invasively. Its bedside accessibility allows for rapid assessments, making it a primary imaging modality for AKI characterization. Furthermore, CPWD-US serves as a guiding instrument for key diagnostic-interventional procedures such as renal needle biopsy and percutaneous nephrostomy, while also facilitating therapy response monitoring and AKI progression tracking. This review shifts focus towards the integration of renal ultrasound into ICU workflows, offering contemporary insights into its utilization through a diagnostic-standard-oriented approach. By presenting a flow chart, this review aims to provide practical guidance on the appropriate use of point-of-care ultrasound (POC-US) in critical care scenarios, enhancing diagnostic precision, patient management, and safety, albeit amidst a backdrop of limited evidence regarding long-term outcomes.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: We conducted an analysis on 231 pregnant women. A proctologist examined the patients three times: in the 1st trimester (within the first 15 weeks), in the 3rd trimester (29-40 weeks), and 12 months after childbirth. RESULTS: The total number of fecal incontinence observations among women included in the study was 66 cases (28.6%), detected at the final visit. Risk factors for fecal incontinence with a high probability were age over 36 years (P = 0.001), low physical activity (P = 0.034), three or more pregnancies resulting in childbirth (P = 0.022), history of hemorrhoids (P = 0.027), perianal discomfort on the first visit (P = 0.045), and constipation on the first visit (P = 0.006). Factors such as being overweight, marital status, education, living conditions, living area, and infant size did not have significance for fecal incontinence. DISCUSSION: Pregnancy- and obstetric-related risk factors contributing to fecal incontinence are multifactorial, including factors such as multiple childbirths with trauma to the pelvic muscles or anal sphincter muscles, chronic constipation, age, and vaginal deliveries. However, currently, there is no clear concept for the prevention of fecal incontinence in pregnant women. CONCLUSION: The prevalence of fecal incontinence among pregnant women is 12.9%, which increases to 28.6% one year after childbirth. The most common complaint was involuntary passage of intestinal gas. Risk factors for fecal incontinence with a high probability included being over 36-years old, low physical activity, three or more pregnancies resulting in childbirth, a history of hemorrhoids, perianal discomfort, and constipation in the 1st trimester of pregnancy.

OBJECTIVE: Transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TDUS), computed tomography angiography (CTA), and transcranial Doppler ultrasound to detect cerebral blood flow are among the adjunctive tests in diagnosing brain death. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of orbital doppler ultrasound (ODUS). METHODS: This prospective, single-blind study included 66 patients for whom brain death was to be diagnosed. Primary outcome measures were ODUS measurements, Ophthalmic artery peak systolic velocity (PSV), end-diastolic velocity (EDV), and resistive indices (RI) measurements recorded during the brain death determination process. Secondary outcome measures were computed tomography angio (CTA), transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TDUS), and demographic data. RESULTS: This study investigating the effectiveness of ODUS in diagnosing brain death provided diagnostic success with 100% sensitivity and 93% specificity compared to CT angiography. It was noted that anatomical variations may limit its use. CONCLUSION: ODUS was found to have high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of clinical brain death. It may assist in early prognostic assessment and shorten patient follow-up and diagnostic processes.

Introduction: Undifferentiated sarcoma is considered a rare and aggressive type of soft tissue sarcoma with the lower extremity reported as the common site for soft tissue sarcomas. Case presentation: We present a rare incidental finding of undifferentiated sarcoma during lower limb Doppler ultrasound with a presenting symptom of right thrombotic-like calf pain in a 49-year-old female. Discussion: On ultrasound, the presented undifferentiated sarcoma appeared as a large heterogeneous, oval-shaped, soft tissue mass deeply seated in the right calf with involvement of the soleus muscle. The features on ultrasound mimicked those of a hematoma; however, the possibility of the lesion being a haematoma was promptly ruled out with the demonstration of internal vascularity on colour Doppler application. The case was then referred to a sarcoma triage multidisciplinary team for a review. Magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and biopsy were parts of the diagnostic workup for this case, histology confirmed the soft tissue lesion to be an undifferentiated sarcoma. Emergency above knee amputation of the right leg was performed as part of the patient's treatment. Conclusion: This case report presents a rare incidental finding of undifferentiated sarcoma encountered during lower limb Doppler ultrasound causing thrombotic-like calf pain. Sonographers are encouraged to pay necessary attention and carefully examine any adjacent and incidental soft tissue lesion during lower limb Doppler ultrasound using compression, two-dimensional imaging and colour imaging, especially those that appear with characteristic features of malignancy; urgent referral should be made of such cases to a tertiary soft tissue sarcoma centre for further evaluation and management.

Systemic vasculitides are a rare and complex group of diseases that can affect multiple organ systems. Clinically, presentation may be vague and non-specific and as such, diagnosis and subsequent management are challenging. These entities are typically classified by the size of vessel involved, including large-vessel vasculitis (giant cell arteritis, Takayasu's arteritis, and clinically isolated aortitis), medium-vessel vasculitis (including polyarteritis nodosa and Kawasaki disease), and small-vessel vasculitis (granulomatosis with polyangiitis and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis). There are also other systemic vasculitides that do not fit in to these categories, such as Behcet's disease, Cogan syndrome, and IgG4-related disease. Advances in medical imaging modalities have revolutionized the approach to diagnosis of these diseases. Specifically, color Doppler ultrasound, computed tomography and angiography, magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography, or invasive catheterization as indicated have become fundamental in the work up of any patient with suspected systemic or localized vasculitis. This review presents the key diagnostic imaging modalities and their clinical utility in the evaluation of systemic vasculitis.

La arteritis de la temporal (AT) es la forma más frecuente de vasculitis sistémica, su diagnóstico está basado en criterios propuestos por el Colegio Americano de Reumatología (1990), y su tratamiento son corticoides a dosis elevadas. Nuestro objetivo es valorar el gasto del diagnóstico de la AT, y secundariamente análisis coste/efectivo de distintas estrategias diagnósticas (clínica, biopsia, eco-Doppler) y terapéuticas (suspensión del corticoide). Material y método: Estudio observacional, retrospectivo de pacientes con AT (2012-2021). Se recogieron datos demográficos, comorbilidades, signos y síntomas sugestivos de AT. Se diagnosticó AT con una puntuación ≥3 según los criterios del American College of Reumatology (ACR-SCORE). Se analizaron los gastos del diagnóstico y modificación de tratamiento. Resultados: Setenta y cinco pacientes, mediana edad 77 (6-87) años. Cefalea, dolor temporal y claudicación mandibular fueron significativos para el diagnóstico de AT. Los pacientes con halo en eco-Doppler y biopsia positiva, presentaron elevación de VSG y PCR de forma significativa en comparación con los pacientes que no. El gasto diagnóstico de AT fue de 414,7€/paciente. Si empleamos ACR-SCORE≥3-eco-Doppler serían 167,2€/paciente (ahorro del 59,6%) y ACR-SCORE≥3-biopsia 339,75€/paciente (ahorro del 18%). Si se retiraba corticoide y se realizaba biopsia hubiesen sido 21,6€/paciente (ahorro del 94,7%), si se retiraba corticoide y se realizaba eco-Doppler hubiesen sido 10,6€/paciente (ahorro del 97,4%). Conclusiones: Cefalea, dolor temporal y claudicación mandibular son predictores de AT. La elevación de VSG y PCR son predictores de biopsia positiva y presencia de halo en la ecografía.El empleo de ACR-SCORE≥3 con eco-Doppler o con biopsia, y con suspensión del corticoide son coste/efectivos.(AU)

Background: Anatomical variations in arteries of the upper limb, such as presence of an accessory brachial artery, are common and widely described in the literature, mainly in cadaveric studies, but it is now possible to diagnose them using vascular Doppler ultrasound. Objectives: To identify the incidence of accessory brachial artery using vascular Doppler ultrasound and compare the findings with cadaveric studies. Methods: This was a prospective study that examined 500 upper limbs of 250 volunteers assessed with vascular Doppler ultrasound using the Sonosite Titan portable ultrasound machine. Results: 15.6% of the participants in our study had the accessory brachial artery anatomical variation. Our percentage is in line with the average rates found in cadaveric studies, which ranged from 0.2% to 22%. Being aware of this variation is fundamental in procedures such as peripheral venipuncture, arteriovenous fistula creation, catheterization, forearm flaps, emergency surgeries on the limb and even correction of fractures by cast. Conclusions: The accessory brachial artery is a frequent variant in the upper limb. The percentage of individuals with an accessory brachial artery in our study was 15.6%, which agrees with data from the literature on cadaveric studies.

Fetal movement is a crucial indicator of fetal well-being. Characteristics of fetal movement vary across gestation, posing challenges for researchers to determine the most suitable assessment of fetal movement for their study. We summarize the current measurement strategies used to assess fetal movement and conduct a comprehensive review of studies utilizing these methods. We critically evaluate various measurement approaches including subjective maternal perception, ultrasound, Doppler ultrasound, wearable technology, magnetocardiograms, and magnetic resonance imaging, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. We discuss the challenges of accurately capturing fetal movement, which is influenced by factors such as differences in recording times, gestational ages, sample sizes, environmental conditions, subjective perceptions, and characterization across studies. We also highlight the clinical implications of heterogeneity in fetal movement assessment for monitoring fetal behavior, predicting adverse outcomes, and improving maternal attachment to the fetus. Lastly, we propose potential areas of future research to overcome the current gaps and challenges in measuring and characterizing abnormal fetal movement. Our review contributes to the growing body of literature on fetal movement assessment and provides insights into the methodological considerations and potential applications for research.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of point-of-care Doppler ultrasound measurements of carotid corrected flow time and its changes induced by volume expansion to predict fluid responsiveness in patients undergoing robot-assisted gynecological surgery. Methods: In this prospective study, carotid corrected flow time was measured using Doppler images of the common carotid artery before and after volume expansion. The stroke volume index at each time point was recorded using noninvasive cardiac output monitoring with MostCare. Of the 52 patients enrolled, 26 responded. Results: The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves of the carotid corrected flow time and changes in carotid corrected flow time induced by volume expansion were 0.82 and 0.67, respectively. Their optimal cut-off values were 357 and 19.5 ms, respectively. Conclusion: Carotid corrected flow time was superior to changes in carotid corrected flow time induced by volume expansion for predicting fluid responsiveness in this population.

Introduction: Fetal health and a receptive and healthy endometrium are two essential factors in achieving successful implantation. If the endometrium is unreceptive, postponing the transfer cycle to a suitable time can enhance the chances of pregnancy. This study aims to assess the impact of endometrial and sub-endometrial blood flows measured by Doppler ultrasound, as well as endometrial volume, on endometrial receptivity in frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles. Methods: 112 patients with a mean age of 33.93 ± 4.93 years underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF). Serum ß-hCG level was used to confirm pregnancy, and among the participants, 50 (44.6%) achieved pregnancy after IVF. Results: The study results revealed a significant difference in endometrial blood flow between the pregnant and non-pregnant groups, with a higher pregnancy rate observed in participants exhibiting multi-focal and spare endometrial blood flows (p < 0.05). Furthermore, there was a notable association between endometrial blood flow and pregnancy outcome, as indicated by higher ongoing pregnancy rates in those with multi-focal and spare endometrial blood flows (p < 0.05). However, no significant differences were observed in endometrial variables such as volume, length, width, thickness, and pattern between the pregnant and non-pregnant groups. Additionally, contextual parameters showed no significant relationship with pregnancy outcome (p > 0.05). The study also found that endometrial measurement indices did not have a significant impact on pregnancy outcomes, with no significant differences observed between the groups (p > 0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, endometrial blood flow is crucial for a successful pregnancy after IVF, while the predictive value of the endometrial volume is limited for pregnancy outcomes.

Numerous driven techniques have been utilized to assess dynamic cerebral autoregulation (dCA) in healthy and clinical populations. The current review aimed to amalgamate this literature and provide recommendations to create greater standardization for future research. The PubMed database was searched with inclusion criteria consisting of original research articles using driven dCA assessments in humans. Risk of bias were completed using Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network and Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies. Meta-analyses were conducted for coherence, phase, and gain metrics at 0.05 and 0.10 Hz using deep-breathing, oscillatory lower body negative pressure (OLBNP), sit-to-stand maneuvers, and squat-stand maneuvers. A total of 113 studies were included, with 40 of these incorporating clinical populations. A total of 4126 participants were identified, with younger adults (18-40 years) being the most studied population. The most common techniques were squat-stands (n = 43), deep-breathing (n = 25), OLBNP (n = 20), and sit-to-stands (n = 16). Pooled coherence point estimates were: OLBNP 0.70 (95%CI:0.59-0.82), sit-to-stands 0.87 (95%CI:0.79-0.95), and squat-stands 0.98 (95%CI:0.98-0.99) at 0.05 Hz; and deep-breathing 0.90 (95%CI:0.81-0.99); OLBNP 0.67 (95%CI:0.44-0.90); and squat-stands 0.99 (95%CI:0.99-0.99) at 0.10 Hz. This review summarizes clinical findings, discusses the pros/cons of the 11 unique driven techniques included, and provides recommendations for future investigations into the unique physiological intricacies of dCA.

BACKGROUND: High dose rate brachytherapy is commonly used in the treatment of prostate cancer. Treatment planning is often performed under transrectal ultrasound (US) guidance, but brachytherapy needles can be challenging to digitize due to the presence of poor US conspicuity and imaging artifacts. The plan accuracy and quality, however, are dependent on the proper visualization of the needles with millimeter accuracy. PURPOSE: This work describes a technique for generating a color overlay of needle locations atop the grayscale US image. Prototype devices were developed to produce vibrations in the brachytherapy needles that generate a high contrast color Doppler (CD) signal that highlights the needle locations with superior contrast and reduced artifacts. Denoted by the acronym color VISION (Vibrationally Induced Shimmering for Identifying an Object's Nature), the technology has the potential to improve applicator conspicuity and facilitate automated applicator digitization. METHODS: Three prototype vibrational devices with frequencies between 200-450 Hz were designed in-house and evaluated with needle implants in a phantom and cadaveric male pelvis using: (1) an actuator attached to the front of a prostate needle template; (2) an actuator attached to the top of the needle template; and (3) a hand-held actuator with a stylet, inserted directly into a needle's inner lumen. Acquired images were postprocessed in MATLAB to evaluate the potential for automated digitization. RESULTS: All prototype devices produced localized shimmering in implanted brachytherapy needles in both the axial and sagittal planes. The template mounted actuators provided better vibrational coupling and ease of operation than the stylet prototype. The Michelson contrast, or visibility, of the shimmering CD signal was 100% compared with ≤40% for B-mode imaging of a single needle. Proof-of-principle for automated applicator digitization using only the CD signal was demonstrated. CONCLUSIONS: The color VISION prototype devices successfully coupled mechanical vibrations into brachytherapy needles to generate US CD shimmering and accurately highlight brachytherapy needle locations. The high contrast and natively registered signal are promising for future work to automate the needle digitization and provide a real-time visual overlay of the applicator on the B-mode US image.

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to establish reference values for fetal aortic isthmus blood flow velocity and associated indices during the first trimester, utilizing a novel ultrasonographic technique known as high-definition flow imaging (HDFI). Additionally, the correlation between Doppler profiles of aortic blood flow and key fetal parameters, including nuchal thickness (NT), crown-rump length (CRL), and fetal heartbeat (FHB), was investigated. METHODS: A total of 262 fetuses were included in the analysis between December 2022 and December 2023. Utilizing 2D power Doppler ultrasound images, aortic blood flow parameters were assessed, including aortic peak systolic velocity (PS), aortic end-diastolic velocity (ED), aortic time average maximal velocity (TAMV), and various indices such as aortic systolic velocity/diastolic velocity (S/D), aortic pulsatile index (PI), aortic resistance index (RI), aortic isthmus flow velocity index (IFI), and aortic isthmic systolic index (ISI). Concurrently, fetal FHB, NT, and CRL were evaluated during early trimester Down syndrome screening. RESULTS: Significant findings include a positive correlation between gestational age (GA) and PS (PS = 3.75 × (GA) - 15.4, r2 = 0.13, p < 0.01), ED (ED = 0.42 × (GA) - 0.61, r2 = 0.04, p < 0.01), PI (PI = 0.07 × (GA) + 1.03, r2 = 0.04, p < 0.01), and TAMV (TAMV = 1.23 × (GA) - 1.66, r2 = 0.08, p < 0.01). In contrast, aortic ISI demonstrated a significant decrease (ISI = -0.03 × (GA) + 0.57, r2 = 0.05, p < 0.05) with gestational age. No significant correlation was observed for aortic RI (p = 0.33), S/D (p = 0.39), and IFI (p = 0.29) with gestational age. Aortic PS exhibited positive correlations with NT (0.217, p = 0.001) and CRL (0.360, p = 0.000) but a negative correlation with FHB (-0.214, p = 0.001). Aortic PI demonstrated positive correlations with CRL (0.208, p = 0.001) and negative correlations with FHB (-0.176, p = 0.005). Aortic TAMV showed positive correlations with NT (0.233, p = 0.000) and CRL (0.290, p = 0.000) while exhibiting a negative correlation with FHB (-0.141, p = 0.026). Aortic ISI demonstrated negative correlations with NT (-0.128, p = 0.045) and CRL (-0.218, p = 0.001) but a positive correlation with FHB (0.163, p = 0.010). CONCLUSIONS: Power Doppler angiography with Doppler ultrasound demonstrates the ability to establish accurate reference values for fetal aortic blood flow during the first trimester of pregnancy. Notably, aortic PS, TAMV, and ISI exhibit significant correlations with NT, CRL, and FHB, with ISI appearing more relevant than IFI, PS, TAMV, and FHB. The utilization of HDFI technology proves advantageous in efficiently detecting the site of the aortic isthmus compared to traditional color Doppler mode in early second trimesters.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the efficacy of a novel approach to achieve the optimal penile erection during the penile doppler ultrasound (PDU) examination, which was oral sildenafil combined alprostadil injection. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 60 ED patients were enrolled in our prospective study, and they were randomly assigned to two group with different PDU order. The approaches assisted the PDU included two models, mode A meaning injection of 15 µg alprostadil and model B meaning oral sildenafil 100 mg plus injection of 15 µg alprostadil. The PDU parameters were measured continuously before induced erection, and 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 min. RESULTS: Each group included 30 ED patients with similar clinical characteristics. After pooling the results together, the PSV, EDV, and RI were all improved significantly, when adding the oral sildenafil administration to assist PDU. Also, the clinical response of oral sildenafil administration plus alprostadil injection was better than that in alprostadil injection alone (p = 0.016). The arterial ED were decreased from 31.67% to 15.00% with the P value 0.031, and the mixed ED was also decreased statistically (23.33% vs 8.33%, p = 0.024). CONCLUSION: Oral sildenafil administration plus alprostadil injection could improve the diagnostic accuracy of PDU.

Transfer function analysis (TFA) is a widely used method for assessing dynamic cerebral autoregulation in humans. In the present study, we assessed the test-retest reliability of established TFA metrics derived from spontaneous blood pressure oscillations and based on 5 min recordings. The TFA-based gain, phase and coherence in the low-frequency range (0.07-0.20 Hz) from 19 healthy volunteers, 37 patients with subarachnoid haemorrhage and 19 patients with sepsis were included. Reliability assessments included the smallest real difference (SRD) and the coefficient of variance for comparing consecutive 5 min recordings, temporally separated 5 min recordings and consecutive recordings with a minimal length of 10 min. In healthy volunteers, temporally separating the 5 min recordings led to a 0.38 (0.01-0.79) cm s-1 mmHg-1 higher SRD for gain (P = 0.032), and extending the duration of recordings did not affect the reliability. In subarachnoid haemorrhage, temporal separation led to a 0.85 (-0.13 to 1.93) cm s-1 mmHg-1 higher SRD (P = 0.047) and a 20 (-2 to 41)% higher coefficient of variance (P = 0.038) for gain, but neither metric was affected by extending the recording duration. In sepsis, temporal separation increased the SRD for phase by 94 (23-160)° (P = 0.006) but was unaffected by extending the recording. A recording duration of 8 min was required to achieve stable gain and normalized gain measures in healthy individuals, and even longer recordings were required in patients. In conclusion, a recording duration of 5 min appears insufficient for obtaining stable and reliable TFA metrics when based on spontaneous blood pressure oscillations, particularly in critically ill patients with subarachnoid haemorrhage and sepsis.

OBJECTIVE: Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) presents a various clinical symptoms and treatment options. Although it is generally known which treatment option is more appropriate in which situations in CVI, it is even more difficult to find the right option in some uncertain situations. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the potential contribution of Digital Photoplethysmography (D-PPG) in the diagnosis of CVI and especially in the selection of treatment options. PATIENTS AND METHOD: This retrospective study was conducted at Bursa Heart and Arrhythmia Hospital, involving 721 consecutive patients diagnosed with CVI and with Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) indication. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to the extent of the failure in Doppler USG. In Group 1, the insufficiency ended above the knee, and in Group 2, the insufficiency progressed to below the knee. Patients were evaluated based on anamnesis, physical examination, Doppler USG, and D-PPG. Clinical classification, Venous Clinic Severity Score (VCSS), Quality of Life (QoL) assessment, venous pump capacity (VPC), and venous refill time (VRT) were measured. RESULTS: The study included 263 male and 458 female patients with a mean age of 52.37 ± 12.26 years. Significant differences were observed between Group 1 (above knee reflux) and Group 2 (below knee reflux) patients in terms of VCSS, QoL, VPC, and VRT values. The mean values of VCSS, patient complaints, VPC, and VRT were higher in Group 2 patients. Similar findings were observed within the CEAP 2 subgroup. CONCLUSION: D-PPG shows potential as a valuable tool in the diagnosis and treatment of CVI. By providing information about venous hemodynamics and volume changes, it can assist in optimizing treatment decisions, including saphenous vein preservation. Combining D-PPG with Doppler USG may improve the comprehensive assessment of CVI and change the treatment option, especially for CEAP 2 patients. More research is needed to confirm these findings and explore wider applications of plethysmographic methods in the management of CVI.
