RESUMO

Introduction: One common and very upsetting side effect of burn injuries is scarring, which presents serious difficulties for patients and medical professionals alike. Aim: To assess a new therapeutic approach for treating scars following burn repair procedures in terms of its clinical efficacy. Material and methods: This method administers Hirudoid under ultrasound guidance in addition to fractional CO2 laser treatment. An extensive analysis of the effects of this combination treatment on functional results, patient satisfaction, and scar appearance is being conducted as part of this research. Fractional CO2 laser treatment is utilized for its capacity to stimulate collagen remodelling and decrease scar hypertrophy, while Hirudoid, a topical medicine containing heparinoid, is used to minimize inflammation and enhance tissue healing. Enrolling patients who have had burn repair surgery is the goal of a quasi-experimental study. Conventional scar care methods are performed on the control group, whereas the experimental group is treated with fractional CO2 laser therapy after applying Hirudoid under ultrasound guidance. Throughout the research period, clinical evaluations are carried out on a regular basis. These evaluations cover scar features, pain thresholds, and patient-reported results. Results: The first findings show that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group in terms of overall look, pigmentation, and scar texture. Functional examinations point to possible improvements in terms of scar flexibility and the range of motion, while patient-reported outcomes show improved satisfaction with the combination therapy. In order to guarantee the combination therapy's viability and tolerance in a clinical context, its side effects and safety profiles are also extensively assessed. In order to improve scar management following burn healing, the study intends to provide important insights into the creation of more patient-friendly and successful therapies. Conclusions: A potential approach to enhancing the clinical results of burn scar treatment is the study of fractional CO2 laser therapy in conjunction with ultrasound-guided Hirudoid. Enhancing scar management tactics via the combination of sophisticated technology and therapy modalities may eventually improve the quality of life for burn injury victims.

RESUMO

Background: Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate (MPS) cream as a moisturizer is widely applied to treat eczema, and a lot of clinical trials have demonstrated its efficacy and safety. However, there is no further research to collect and analyze these studies. Objective: This meta-analysis aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of MPS cream as monotherapy or add-on therapy for non-exudative eczema. Methods: Ten databases were searched to identify the eligible randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from their inception to July 31, 2021. Revman 5.3 software was used for the meta-analysis. Results: A total of eligible 20 studies were included. Among the 20 studies, 2 studies compared MPS cream with other moisturizers, 14 compared MPS cream plus topical corticosteroids (TCS) with TCS alone, and 4 compared with MPS cream plus tacrolimus ointment with tacrolimus ointment alone. The pooled results demonstrated that MPS cream had a higher total efficacy rate [Risk ratio (RR) 1.21, 95% CI: 1.12 to 1.30, P < 0.00001], a lower recurrence rate (RR 0.44, 95% CI: 0.26 to 0.74, P = 0.002) and a lower pruritus score [mean difference (MD) -1.78, 95% CI: -2.16 to -1.40, P < 0.00001] than urea cream or vaseline ointment. Moreover, in comparison with TCS or tacrolimus ointment alone, the combination treatment performed better in terms of total efficacy rate, total symptom score, recurrence rate, and pruritus score. For safety, the skin adverse events were mild, and MPS cream as monotherapy or add-on therapy did not increase the risk of skin adverse events. Conclusions: MPS cream as monotherapy or add-on therapy could provide a good effect for treating non-exudative eczema with mild and tolerable skin adverse events. However, due to the suboptimal quality of the included studies, high-quality and large-sample RCTs are needed in the future for update or validation. RESUMO

Steroid ointments are frequently mixed with moisturizer. It was reported that steroid ointments mixed with moisturizer increase permeability. There are only few studies done on the permeability of the moisturizer. We researched moisturizing effect of heparinoid ointment (Hirudoid Soft ointment) diluted with white petrolatum (Propeto) on the dry skin models by measuring water content of stratum. Two to four fold dilution of Hirudoid to white petrolatum resulted in a significant decrease in the moisturizing effect of the active ingredient. There was no significant difference in moisturizing effect between four times diluted mixture and white petrolatum alone. This leads to the conclusion that steroid ointment mixture with moisturizer is frequently used, but we should take more caution regarding the decrease of moisturizing effect.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effect and psychological intervention of the treatment of hemodialysis internal fistula with Hirudoid combined with far infrared ray. Methods 80 cases of hemodialysis fistula were diagnosed and treated from January 2014 to December 2016 in Lishui Central Hospital, according to different treatment intervention methods, which were divided into two groups, each group with 40 cases. The control group was treated with routine nursing and far infrared therapy, and the observation group was treated withpsychological intervention and Hirudoid+far infrared therapy. The clinical efficacy, the improvement of clinical symptoms and the incidence of complications were compared between the 2 groups. Results The clinical effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group, the improvement of the clinical symptoms was better than that of the control group, the complication rate was lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The clinical effect of psychological intervention plus Hirudoid+far infrared ray in the treatment of hemodialysis fistula patients is significant, which can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and complications in patients with less, and is worthy of clinical application.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effects of hyaluronidase and hirudoid treatment on drug extravasation in neonates. METHODS: The medical records of 13 neonates with drug extravasation treated with hyaluronidase and hirudoid between August 1(st), 2010 and May 1(st), 2012 were analyzed retrospectively. The treatment procedure for drug extravasation adhered to the protocol in neonatal department. The information including age, sex, weight, diagnosis, size of affected area, site of extravasation and treatment was collected. Findings : The extravasation injuries alleviated and the symptoms improved after treatment, no adverse drug effects were reported with use of hyaluronidase and hirudoid. CONCLUSION: The treatment appeared to be beneficial in the management of extravasations of various medications in neonates and may be useful in reducing the severity of cutaneous toxicosis. However, further studies with large samples are still needed to assess the effectiveness and safety of hyaluronidase and hirudoid.

RESUMO

Objective We observed the effect of topical application of mucopolyccharide polysulfate cream (hirudoid) on phlebitis prevention initiated by continuous infusion of 5-Fu with Baxter infusor. Methods 60 untreated patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma were selected and randomly divided into the control group (28 patients) and the experimental group (32 patients). The patients of the experimental group were gently massaged with hirudoid along the infusion vein since the beginning of 5-Fu infusion, while the control group received no intervention. The incidence of phlebitis was observed in the two groups. Results The incidence of phlebitis in the experimental group was lower and the degree was lighter compared with the control group. Conclusions Hirudoid can decrease the incidence and released the symptoms of phlebitis initiated by continuous infusion of 5-Fu with Baxter infusor, and is effective to prevent and treat phlebitis.
