RESUMO

This study demonstrates that root-associated Kosakonia oryziphila NP19, isolated from rice roots, is a promising plant growth-promoting bioagent and biopesticide for combating rice blast caused by Pyricularia oryzae. In vitro experiments were conducted on fresh leaves of Khao Dawk Mali 105 (KDML105) jasmine rice seedlings. The results showed that NP19 effectively inhibited the germination of P. oryzae fungal conidia. Fungal infection was suppressed across three different treatment conditions: rice colonized with NP19 and inoculated by fungal conidia, a mix of NP19 and fungal conidia concurrently inoculated on the leaves, and fungal conidia inoculation first followed by NP19 inoculation after 30 h. Additionally, NP19 reduced fungal mycelial growth by 9.9-53.4%. In pot experiments, NP19 enhanced the activities of peroxidase (POD) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) by 6.1-63.0% and 3.0-67.7%, respectively, indicating a boost in the plant's defense mechanisms. Compared to the uncolonized control, the NP19-colonized rice had 0.3-24.7% more pigment contents, 4.1% more filled grains per panicle, 26.3% greater filled grain yield, 34.4% higher harvest index, and 10.1% more content of the aroma compound 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline (2AP); for rice colonized with NP19 and infected with P. oryzae, these increases were 0.2-49.2%, 4.6%, 9.1%, 54.4%, and 7.5%, respectively. In field experiments, blast-infected rice that was colonized and/or inoculated with NP19 treatments had 15.1-27.2% more filled grains per panicle, 103.6-119.8% greater filled grain yield, and 18.0-35.8% higher 2AP content. A higher SOD activity (6.9-29.5%) was also observed in the above-mentioned rice than in the blast-infected rice that was not colonized and inoculated with NP19. Following blast infection, NP19 applied to leaves decreased blast lesion progression. Therefore, K. oryziphila NP19 was demonstrated to be a potential candidate for use as a plant growth-promoting bioagent and biopesticide for suppressing rice blast.

BACKGROUND: To produce jasmine tea of excellent quality, it is crucial to select jasmine flowers at their optimal growth stage during harvesting. However, achieving this goal remains a challenge due to environmental and manual factors. This study addresses this issue by classifying different jasmine flowers based on visual attributes using the YOLOv7 algorithm, one of the most advanced algorithms in convolutional neural networks. RESULTS: The mean average precision (mAP value) for detecting jasmine flowers using this model is 0.948, and the accuracy for five different degrees of openness of jasmine flowers, namely small buds, buds, half-open, full-open and wiltered, is 87.7%, 90.3%, 89%, 93.9% and 86.4%, respectively. Meanwhile, other ways of processing the images in the dataset, such as blurring and changing the brightness, also increased the credibility of the algorithm. CONCLUSION: This study shows that it is feasible to use deep learning algorithms for distinguishing jasmine flowers at different growth stages. This study can provide a reference for jasmine production estimation and for the development of intelligent and precise flower-picking applications to reduce flower waste and production costs. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry.

BACKGROUND: In this work, water transition points (first transition: monolayer-multilayer water; and second transition: multilayer-free and solvent water) of different parts of jasmine rice including white rice, brown rice and bran were identified through the integration of sorption isotherm and dielectric properties data. Desorption isotherm data were fitted to four established models to select the optimal model for describing the sorption behaviors. Then, dielectric properties such as dielectric constant (ε') and dielectric loss factor (ε″) were measured across various moisture content levels within the frequency range of 200-20 000 MHz. RESULTS: A type III isotherm was observed for all samples and the Peleg model was the best fit with the experimental data. Monolayer moisture content of the samples, estimated using the GAB model, ranged from 3.25% to 4.17% dry basis. For dielectric properties, frequency and moisture dependencies were evident for all sample types. Moreover, the sorption isotherm models effectively described the relationship between water activity (aw) and dielectric properties as reflected by their goodness of fit, and their strong correlation through principal component analysis and Pearson's correlation results. CONCLUSION: The first water transition occurs at aw values of 0.11, 0.12, and 0.22, while the second transition appears at aw values of 0.9, 0.9 and 0.75-0.85 for white rice, brown rice and bran, respectively. This knowledge will be useful for food processors, providing insights into the optimization of food processing and storage conditions to extend food products' shelf life. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry.

Two endophytic actinobacteria, strains MK5T and MK7, were isolated from the surface-sterilized root of Jasmine rice (Oryza sativa KDML 105). These strains were aerobic actinobacteria with a well-developed substrate and aerial mycelia that formed spiral spore chains. The type strains that shared the high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with both strains were Streptomyces naganishii NBRC 12892T (99.4%), "Streptomyces griseicoloratus" TRM S81-3T (99.2%), and Streptomyces spiralis NBRC 14215T (98.9%). Strains MK5T and MK7 are the same species sharing a digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) value of 95.3% and a 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity of 100%. Chemotaxonomic data confirmed the affiliation of strains MK5T and MK7 to the genus Streptomyces. Strains MK5T and MK7 contained MK-9(H4) as a major menaquinone; the whole-cell sugar of both strains was galactose and glucose. The strain MK5T shared 93.4% average nucleotide identity (ANI)-Blast, 95.5% ANI-MUMmer, 93% average amino acid identity, and 61.3% dDDH with S. spiralis NBRC 14215T. The polyphasic approach confirmed that strain MK5T represents a novel species, and the name Streptomyces mahasarakhamensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is MK5T (= TBRC 17754 = NRRL B-65683). Genome mining, using an in silico approach and searching biosynthesis gene clusters of strains MK5T and MK7, revealed that the genomes contained genes encoding proteins relating to plant growth promotion, bioactive compounds, and beneficial enzymes. Strains MK5T and MK7 could produce indole acetic acid and solubilize phosphate in vitro.

Post-harvest decay of fresh agricultural produce is a major threat to food security globally. Synthetic fungicides, commonly used in practice for managing the post-harvest losses, have negative impacts on consumers' health. Studies have reported the effectiveness of fungal isolates from plants as biocontrol agents of post-harvest diseases, although this is still poorly established in tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L. cv. Jasmine). In this study, 800 endophytic fungi were isolated from mature green and ripe untreated and fungicide-treated tomato fruits grown in open soil and hydroponics systems. Of these, five isolates (Aureobasidium pullulans SUG4.1, Coprinellus micaceus SUG4.3, Epicoccum nigrum SGT8.6, Fusarium oxysporum HTR8.4, Preussia africana SUG3.1) showed antagonistic properties against selected post-harvest pathogens of tomatoes (Alternaria alternata, Fusarium solani, Fusarium oxysporum, Geotrichum candidum, Rhizopus stolonifera, Rhizoctonia solani), with Lactiplantibacillus plantarum as a positive control. P. africana SUG3.1 and C. micaceus SUG4.3 significantly inhibited growth of all the pathogens, with antagonistic capabilities comparable to that exhibited by L. plantarum. Furthermore, the isolates produced an array of enzymes, including among others, amylase, cellulose and protease; and were able to utilize several carbohydrates (glucose, lactose, maltose, mannitol, sucrose). In conclusion, P. africana SUG3.1 and C. micaceus SUG4.3 may complement L. plantarum as biocontrol agents against post-harvest pathogens of tomatoes.

This overview summarizes the latest research progress on the aroma absorption mechanism and aroma fixation pathway of jasmine green tea, and discusses in depth the aroma absorption mechanism of green tea, the aroma release mechanism of jasmine flowers, as well as the absorption and fixation mechanism of the aroma components of jasmine green tea in the process of scenting, to provide a theoretical basis for the improvement of the quality of jasmine green tea and the innovation of processing technology. It was found that the aroma absorption mechanism of jasmine green tea is mainly associated with both physical and chemical adsorption, aroma release in jasmine involves the phenylpropanoid/benzoin biosynthetic pathway, ß-glycosidase enzymes interpreting putative glycosidic groups, and heat shock proteins (HSPs) as molecular chaperones to prevent stress damage in postharvest flowers due to high temperatures and to promote the release of aroma components, and so forth. The preparation of aroma-protein nano-complexes, heat stress microcapsules, and the spraying of polymeric substances - ß-cyclodextrin are three examples of aroma-fixing pathways. This overview also summarizes the problems and future development trends of the current research and proposes the method of loading benzyl acetate, the main aroma component of jasmine, through konjac glucomannan (KGM)-based gel to solve the problem of volatile aroma and difficult-to-fix aroma, which provides a reference for the sustainable development of the jasmine green tea industry. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry.

Self-incompatibility (SI) has evolved independently multiple times and prevents self-fertilization in hermaphrodite angiosperms. Several groups of Oleaceae such as jasmines exhibit distylous flowers, with two compatibility groups each associated with a specific floral morph.1 Other Oleaceae species in the olive tribe have two compatibility groups without associated morphological variation.2,3,4,5 The genetic basis of both homomorphic and dimorphic SI systems in Oleaceae is unknown. By comparing genomic sequences of three olive subspecies (Olea europaea) belonging to the two compatibility groups, we first locate the genetic determinants of SI within a 700-kb hemizygous region present only in one compatibility group. We then demonstrate that the homologous hemizygous region also controls distyly in jasmine. Phylogenetic analyses support a common origin of both systems, following a segmental genomic duplication in a common ancestor. Examination of the gene content of the hemizygous region in different jasmine and olive species suggests that the mechanisms determining compatibility groups and floral phenotypes (whether homomorphic or dimorphic) in Oleaceae rely on the presence/absence of two genes involved in gibberellin and brassinosteroid regulation.

BACKGROUND: Jasmine (Jasminum), renowned for its ornamental value and captivating fragrance, has given rise to numerous species and accessions. However, limited knowledge exists regarding the evolutionary relationships among various Jasminum species. RESULTS: In the present study, we sequenced seven distinct Jasminum species, resulting in the assembly of twelve high-quality complete chloroplast (cp) genomes. Our findings revealed that the size of the 12 cp genomes ranged from 159 to 165 kb and encoded 134-135 genes, including 86-88 protein-coding genes, 38-40 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. J. nudiflorum exhibited a larger genome size compared to other species, mainly attributed to the elevated number of forward repeats (FRs). Despite the typically conservative nature of chloroplasts, variations in the presence or absence of accD have been observed within J. sambac. The calculation of nucleotide diversity (Pi) values for 19 cp genomes indicated that potential mutation hotspots were more likely to be located in LSC regions than in other regions, particularly in genes ycf2, rbcL, atpE, ndhK, and ndhC (Pi > 0.2). Ka/Ks values revealed strong selection pressure on the genes rps2, atpA, rpoA, rpoC1, and rpl33 when comparing J. sambac with the three most closely related species (J. auriculatum, J. multiflorum, and J. dichotomum). Additionally, SNP identification, along with the results of Structure, PCA, and phylogenetic tree analyses, divided the Jasminum cp genomes into six groups. Notably, J. polyanthum showed gene flow signals from both the G5 group (J. nudiflorum) and the G3 group (J. tortuosum and J. fluminense). Phylogenetic tree analysis reflected that most species from the same genus clustered together with robust support in Oleaceae, strongly supporting the monophyletic nature of cp genomes within the genus Jasminum. CONCLUSION: Overall, this study provides comprehensive insights into the genomic composition, variation, and phylogenetic relationships among various Jasminum species. These findings enhance our understanding of the genetic diversity and evolutionary history of Jasminum.

WRKY transcription factors are one of the largest families of transcription regulators that play essential roles in regulating the synthesis of secondary metabolites in plants. Jasmine (Jasminum sambac), renowned for its aromatic nature and fragrant blossoms, possesses a significant abundance of volatile terpene compounds. However, the role of the WRKY family in terpene synthesis in jasmine remains undetermined. In this study, 72 WRKY family genes of J. sambac were identified with their conserved WRKY domains and were categorized into three main groups based on their structural and phylogenetic characteristics. The extensive segmental duplications contributed to the expansion of the WRKY gene family. Expression profiles derived from the transcriptome data and qRT-PCR analysis showed that the majority of JsWRKY genes were significantly upregulated in fully bloomed flowers compared to buds. Furthermore, multiple correlation analyses revealed that the expression patterns of JsWRKYs (JsWRKY27/33/45/51/55/57) were correlated with both distinct terpene compounds (monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes). Notably, the majority of jasmine terpene synthase (JsTPS) genes related to terpene synthesis and containing W-box elements exhibited a significant correlation with JsWRKYs, particularly with JsWRKY51, displaying a strong positive correlation. A subcellular localization analysis showed that JsWRKY51 was localized in the nucleus. Moreover, transgenic tobacco leaves and jasmine calli experiments demonstrated that overexpression of JsWRKY51 was a key factor in enhancing the accumulation of ß-ocimene, which is an important aromatic terpene component. Collectively, our findings suggest the roles of JsWRKY51 and other JsWRKYs in regulating the synthesis of aromatic compounds in J. sambac, providing a foundation for the potential utilization of JsWRKYs to facilitate the breeding of fragrant plant varieties with an improved aroma.

Jasmine tea is loved by most people who drink flower tea owing to its unique aroma, and it is known as the top of flower teas. In our study, the quantitative evaluation of the quality of jasmine tea and detection of aroma components were carried out. First, the flavor quality of 92 kinds of jasmine tea was evaluated using multiple sub-factor quality evaluation methods. According to the evaluation results, jasmine tea was divided into three types: "fresh and lovely" (FL), "heavy and thick" (HT), and "fresh and heavy" (FH). Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to detect the aroma components of the three types of jasmine tea samples. α-Farnesene, cis-3-hexenyl benzoate, acid phenylmethyl ester, linalool, methyl anthranilate, and indole were the main substances that constituted the basic aroma quality characteristics of jasmine tea. Compared to the FL type, the HT and FH types were weaker in the diversification of the characteristic aroma and accumulation of green, herb, sweet, and roast aroma substances. Green and herb aromas play crucial roles in the fresh and persistent qualities of the three types of jasmine tea, which are the key quality factors research focus of jasmine tea.

The quality of jasmine tea is related to the volatiles of its infusion. In this study, the volatiles of jasmine tea infusion were extracted under the optimal conditions with a 50/30 µm DVB/CAR/PDMS fiber, tea/water ratio of 1:25 and extraction time of 5 min. A total of 204 volatiles were analyzed by comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC × GC-Q-TOF-MS). Twenty-five compounds were identified as the key volatile compounds by fold change (FC), orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA), and two-way orthogonal partial least squares analysis (O2PLS). Then optimal amount of flowers (80%-120%) was obtained by the equation describing key volatiles and quality of jasmine tea infusion. And 80% amount of flowers was more appropriate considering the production cost and more pleasant taste. This study laid a foundation for the extraction and research of volatiles of tea infusion and guided the reasonable amount of flowers to produce jasmine tea.

Scenting tea with Jasminum sambac is beneficial to forming a unique taste of jasmine tea, which is regulated by numerous compounds. To investigate the relationship between metabolites in jasmine and jasmine tea, as well as the impact of metabolites on the characteristic taste of jasmine tea, the liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, sensory evaluation, and multivariate analysis were applied in this study. A total of 585 and 589 compounds were identified in jasmine tea and jasmine, respectively. After scented, jasmine tea added 70 compounds, which were believed to come from jasmine flowers. Furthermore, seventy-four compounds were identified as key characteristic compounds of jasmine tea, and twenty-two key differential metabolite compounds were believed to be used to distinguish jasmine tea scented differently and contribute to the taste of jasmine tea. Additionally, the relationship between taste compounds and aroma quality was also explored, and it was found that five compounds were positively correlated with the aroma properties of jasmine tea and seven compounds were negatively correlated with the aroma properties of jasmine tea. Overall, these findings provided insights into the future study of the mechanism of taste formation in jasmine tea and provided the theoretical basis for the production of jasmine tea.

Rhinacanthus nasutus (L.) Kurz is used in Thai traditional medicine for the treatment of skin diseases, ringworm, and eczema. This research studied the effects of cytokinin and auxins on callus induction and evaluated antioxidant activity of R. nasutus. Nodes, young, and mature leaf explants were cultured on MS medium containing 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 mg/l kinetin (6-furfurylaminopurine) and 0, 1 mg/l 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) for 6 weeks to induce callus. Calli derived from nodes, young and mature leaves, and other plant parts were ultrasonically extracted with methanol to determine total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), and antioxidant activity by ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhtdrazyl (DPPH), and 2,2'-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) assays. Nodal explants on MS medium containing 1 mg/l kinetin combined with 1 mg/l 2,4-D were most efficient in callus production with the average fresh and dry weight per explant of 2.29 ± 0.14 and 0.18 ± 0.01 g, respectively. Addition of kinetin combined with NAA or 2,4-D had a positive effect on callus induction from young and mature leaf explants. The leaf extract showed the highest TPC, TFC, FRAP, and IC50 of DPPH and ABTS assays (ca 113 mg GAE/g extract, 45 mg QE/g extract, 121 mg TE/g extract, 53 µg/ml and 14 µg/ml, respectively), followed by callus derived from nodes. Overall, phenolic content was higher than flavonoid content. A strong positive correlation was found between FRAP assay, TPC (r = 0.973), and TFC (r = 0.798), indicating that phenolic and flavonoid compounds are responsible for antioxidant activity of R. nasutus.

Because of the potential environmental harm caused by the extensive application of tetracycline (TC), this study used jasmine waste rich in organic matter as a precursor and one-step carbonization into metal-free carbon-based materials to efficiently activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) toward degrading TC. The jasmine waste biochar (JWB) with a heating rate of 10 °C min-1 and a heating temperature of 700 °C was selected as the most suitable material based on its catalytic performance. The effects of catalyst dose, PMS dose, initial pH value, coexisting inorganic anions and TC concentration on the JWB/PMS/TC system were thoroughly optimized. The results showed that the degradation efficiency of TC by JWB/PMS system was 90%. Meanwhile, the combination of electron paramagnetic resonance, masking experiments and X-ray photoelectron spectrometry confirmed that JWB degraded TC mainly through the non-radical radical pathway of 1O2 oxidation and mediated the electron transfer to PMS. In addition, some degradation products were analyzed by LC-MS and possible degradation pathways of the system were proposed. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel method for recycling jasmine waste and providing a low-cost catalyst for the oxidation treatment of refractory organic matter.

BACKGROUND: Aromatherapy is usually used to stimulate labor. However, its specific physiological effects have been scarcely examined. We evaluated whether an aromatherapy footbath increases oxytocin levels in term pregnant women. METHODS: In this quasi-experimental study, low-risk term pregnant women in Japan underwent aromatherapy using a footbath (1) infused with clary sage and lavender essential oils, (2) infused with jasmine oil, or (3) with no infused oils (control group). The primary outcome was the salivary oxytocin level. The secondary outcomes were uterine contractions and cortisol levels. RESULTS: In the clary sage and lavender group (n = 28), the oxytocin level increased significantly after the footbath (p = 0.035). The jasmine group (n = 27) and control group (n = 27) exhibited trends toward a respective increase and decrease in the oxytocin level; however, the changes in the oxytocin levels between the clary sage and lavender group and the control group showed no significance difference. There were no significant differences in the changes in the uterine contractions and cortisol levels between the experiment and control groups. CONCLUSIONS: The changes in the oxytocin levels in the clary sage and lavender group did not differ significantly with those in the control group, possibly because of the small sample size. Further studies are required to examine the effects of repeated aromatherapy footbaths to stimulate labor.

This study aimed to formulate and optimize an anti-acne drug namely tazarotene (TZR) in essential oil-based microemulsion (ME) using either Jasmine oil (Jas) or Jojoba oil (Joj). TZR-MEs were prepared using two experimental designs (Simplex Lattice Design®) and characterized for droplet size, polydispersity index, and viscosity. Further in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo investigations were performed for the selected formulations. Results revealed that TZR-selected MEs exhibited suitable droplet size, homogenous dispersions, and acceptable viscosity, in addition to spherical-shaped particles in morphology. The ex vivo skin deposition study showed a significant TZR accumulation in all skin layers for the Jas-selected ME over the Joj one. Further, TZR didn't show any antimicrobial activity against P. acnes, however, it was boosted when it was incorporated into the selected MEs. The in vivo study results of the infected mice ears induced by P. acnes revealed that our selected MEs successfully reached a high level of ear thickness reduction of 67.1% and 47.4% for Jas and Joj selected MEs, respectively, versus only 4% for the market product. Finally, the findings confirmed the ability to use essential oil-based ME, particularly with Jas, as a promising carrier for topical TZR delivery in the treatment of acne vulgaris.

Jasmine flower residue (JFR) is a by-product retained in the production process of jasmine tea and can be used as an unconventional feed due to its rich nutrient value. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the addition of JFR to the diet of goats on their meat quality and flavor. Twenty-four castrated Nubian male goats were randomly divided into two groups and fed a mixed diet containing 10% JFR (JFR, n = 12) or a conventional diet (CON, n = 12) for 45 days. Meat quality and flavor were measured at the end of the treatment. The addition of JFR to the diet could reduce the shear force of the longissimus dorsi muscle, as well as, the cross-sectional area and diameter of muscle fibers, indicating that the addition of JFR improved meat quality. JFR also increased the content of glutamic acid and ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (C18:3n3 and C20:5N3) and reduced the content of C24:1 and saturated fatty acid (C20:0 and C22:0). In addition, the use of JFR increased the content of acetaldehyde and hexanal in the meat. Furthermore, JFR introduced new volatile components in the meat. The umami, saltiness, and richness of the meat also improved. In conclusion, the addition of jasmine flower residue to the diet can improve the meat quality and flavor of goat.

Hops provide the characteristic bitter taste and attractive aroma to beer; in this study, hops were replaced by jasmine tea extract (JTE) during late-hopping. The addition of JTE improved the beer foam stability 1.52-fold, and increased the polyphenol and organic acid contents. Linalool was the most important aroma compound in hopped (HOPB) and jasmine tea beer (JTB), but other flavor components were markedly different, including dimeric catechins, flavone/flavonol glycosides, and bitter acids and derivatives. Sensory evaluation indicated that addition of JTE increased the floral and fresh-scent aromas, reduced bitterness and improved the organoleptic quality of the beer. The antioxidant capacity of JTB was much higher than that of HOPB. The inhibition of amylase activity by JTB was 30.5% higher than that of HOPB. Functional properties to beer were added by substituting jasmine tea extract for hops during late hopping.

This study aims to describe the therapeutic potential of C. nocturnum leaf extracts against diabetes and neurological disorders via the targeting of α-amylase and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activities, followed by computational molecular docking studies to establish a strong rationale behind the α-amylase and AChE inhibitory potential of C. nocturnum leaves-derived secondary metabolites. In our study, the antioxidant activity of the sequentially extracted C. nocturnum leaves extract was also investigated, in which the methanolic fraction exhibited the strongest antioxidant potential against DPPH (IC50 39.12 ± 0.53 µg/mL) and ABTS (IC50 20.94 ± 0.82 µg/mL) radicals. This extract strongly inhibited the α-amylase (IC50188.77 ± 1.67 µg/mL) and AChE (IC50 239.44 ± 0.93 µg/mL) in a non-competitive and competitive manner, respectively. Furthermore, in silico analysis of compounds identified in the methanolic extract of the leaves of C. nocturnum using GC-MS revealed high-affinity binding of these compounds with the catalytic sites of α-amylase and AChE, with binding energy ranging from -3.10 to -6.23 kcal/mol and from -3.32 to -8.76 kcal/mol, respectively. Conclusively, the antioxidant, antidiabetic, and anti-Alzheimer activity of this extract might be driven by the synergistic effect of these bioactive phytoconstituents.

Essential oil from Jasminum sambac flowers has demonstrated the potential of antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. However, jasmine flowers contain only a small amount of essential oil; therefore, subcritical fluid extraction (SFE) with HFC-134a, one of the effective extraction methods for flower extraction, was performed in this study. The percentage of overfilled solvent and storage time of the flowers were varied during the extraction. Antioxidant potential, antimicrobial potential and tentative volatile compounds were investigated in this study to observe the quality of the essential oil. It was discovered that a greater amount of overfilled solvent resulted in thicker essential oil and a longer storage time resulted in a lower amount of total oil yield. It could be seen that almost all extraction conditions did not have any significant difference in antioxidant and antimicrobial potential. The essential oil contained primary compounds such as indole, 9-tricosene, α-farnesene, muurolene, and benzyl alcohol. This study led to the conclusion that the amount of overfilled solvent from SFE affected the thickness of jasmine essential oil and its tentative volatile compounds. The longer storage time caused the significantly lower essential oil yield, but changing the extraction conditions had no significant effect on antioxidant or antimicrobial potential.
