Los resultados indicaron un buen (X2/gl = 4.189, CFI = .964, ТЫ = .932, sRMR = .042, RMSEA = .086, AIC = 12041.418, BIC = 12097.185) y mejor ajuste del modelo de segundo orden Cfdiferenda(1) = 16.689,p .01, -ΔAIC- = 211.633 > 10, y -ΔBIC- = 207.342 > 10), mientras que el de un orden no mostró un buen ajuste (X2/gl = 20.878, CFI = .727, ты = .544, SRMR = .118, RMSEA = .224, AIC = 12253.051, BIC = 12304.527). Los resultados fueron consistentes con la literatura. Se discute la necesidad de nuevas evidencias de validez y el uso de muestras más representativas.

Empathic concern and personal distress are the emotional components of empathy according to most utilized models. These components can be conceptualized in a dispositional or situational form. Previous analyzes tend to consider dispositional scales, with little evidence for situational ones. The present study analyzed the factor structure of a situational scale of emotional empathy, composed of empathic concern and personal distress. In a convenience sample of Chilean university students (N = 539), the one-order and second-order fit of the scale was analyzed using factor analysis. The results indicated a good (X2/gl = 4.189, CFI = .964, ТЫ = .932, SRMR = .042, RMSEA = .086, AIC = 12041.418, BIC = 12097.185) and better Ct2 difference(1) = 16.689, p .01, -ΔAIC- = 211.633 > 10, y -ΔBIC- = 207.342 > 10) second-order fit while one-order did not show a good fit (X2/gl = 20.878, CFI = .727, ты = .544, SRMR = .118, RMSEA = .224, AIC = 12253.051, BIC = 12304.527). The results were consistent with the literature. The need for new types of validity and the use of more representative samples was discussed.

RESUMO

Identity fusion with a group, a feeling of connection with it, is a good predictor of extreme pro-group behavior, an action to favor or protect the group, including self-sacrifice. Relational ties and personal distress (self-oriented emotional reaction; e.g., anxiety, distress) toward ingroup members in need have been evaluated separately as mediators of the relationship between identity fusion and pro-group self-sacrifice. Another mediator could be empathic concern (other-oriented emotional reaction; e.g., compassion, sympathy), but it has not been considered in the literature. We related those three mediators in a model. The objective was to analyze whether relational ties mediate the relationship between identity fusion and pro-country self-sacrifice whereas both empathic concern and personal distress mediate the association between relational ties and pro-country self-sacrifice. We expected that identity fusion with the country leads to more relational ties, which in turn evokes both empathic concern and personal distress, and those emotional reactions promote more and less pro-country self-sacrifice, respectively, with more effect of empathic concern than personal distress. We considered the country as the group reference because it is the most used in identity fusion research. In a sample of university students (N = 539), the results supported this model: Identity fusion promoted relational ties, which in turn evoked empathic concern and personal distress. Then, the last two variables predicted more and less self-sacrifice, respectively, with more effect of empathic concern than personal distress. We discussed the theoretical implications of the model, especially the relationship of identity fusion with empathic concern and personal distress-traditional explanations for pro-group behavior-considering the different motivations associated to both emotional reactions. Despite the limitations associated with the measurements, the data supported the model that relates variables not previously explored jointly.

The natural environment has largely been overlooked by research into subjective well-being. The few studies to have addressed the issue have focused on the beneficial effects of contact with nature, but have not looked at how attitudes and behaviours towards the natural environment are related to subjective well-being. The present paper seeks to fill this gap through the analysis of the relationships between environmental attitudes and self-reported ecological behaviours, and subjective well-being. The results obtained from a sample of 320 university students show that to think and behave pro environmentally is not only good for the natural environment but also leads directly to higher levels of subjective well-being. Some implications regarding anthropocentric attitudes and how they relate to subjective well-being are discussed.
