RESUMO
The aim of this study is to describe the limb morphology of Alonella dadayi Birge (Cladocera: Chydorida) and this species' morphometric variability regarding the carapace and postabdomen. We report for the first time a population whose individuals do not have denticles on the posteroventral corner of the carapace. Although we have observed intra- and interpopulation variability of the limbs (especially the proportion of Inner Distal Lobe setae), Alonella dadayi can also be differentiated from closely related species by the morphology of the exopodite of the second limb. The morphometric analyses show high variability in the shape of the carapace, when regarding the ventral margin and posterodorsal corner. In the postabdomen, we observed a significant variation in the preanal, anal and postanal margins. Keeping in mind the wide range of the geographic distribution of Alonella dadayi and its high morphological variability, it is possible that this taxon comprises a species complex. Such a chance needs to be tested in future studies.

Since early 2000 years, the knowledge about the taxonomy of Aloninae (Cladocera: Chydoridae) has been in rapid progress. For this reason, the most of Brazilian fauna was affected concerning nomenclature, besides an increase in the number of known genera and species. Thus, in this study, we bring an updated species list of Aloninae in Brazil, as well as identification keys based in current nomenclature and morphological standards. Our finding pointed to the occurrence of 46 valid species, belonging to 21 genera and three groups of Alona sensu lato. Two of these genera are endemic to Brazil. So far, South-East Asia and Brazil have the most well-studied Aloninae fauna in the entire planet.(AU)

Instability is a common sequela after repeated ankle sprains. When nonoperative treatment fails, open lateral ligament complex repair and reinforcement with the inferior extensor retinaculum has been the gold standard procedure. The recent advancements in arthroscopic techniques have created comparable biomechanical and functional results to open procedures. The authors' modification to the standard arthroscopic technique permits ligament approximation to the distal fibula over a larger surface area, using knotless anchors to avoid the need of an accessory portal and limit potential suture knot-related complications.
