RESUMO

In the environment of unknown mutual coupling, many works on direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation with sensor array are prone to performance degradation or even failure. Moreover, there are few literatures on off-grid direction finding using regularized sparse recovery technology. Therefore, the scenario of off-grid DOA estimation in sensor array with unknown mutual coupling is investigated, and then a reweighted off-grid Sparse Spectrum Fitting (Re-OGSpSF) approach is developed in this article. Inspired by the selection matrix, an undisturbed array output is formed to remove the unknown mutual coupling effect. Subsequently, a refined off-grid SpSF (OGSpSF) recovery model is structured by integrating the off-grid error term obtained from the first-order Taylor approximation of the higher-order term into the underlying on-grid sparse representation model. After that, a novel Re-OGSpSF framework is formulated to recover the sparse vectors, where a weighted matrix is developed by the MUSIC-like spectrum function to enhance the solution's sparsity. Ultimately, off-grid DOA estimation can be realized with the help of the recovered sparse vectors. Thanks to the off-grid representation and reweighted strategy, the proposed method can effectively and efficiently achieve high-precision continuous DOA estimation, making it favorable for real-time direction finding. The simulation results validate the superiority of the proposed method.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the performance of different chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) metrics for grading gliomas with semiautomatically defined regions of interest (ROIs). METHODS: Thirty-eight adult subjects were included, including 23 high-grade gliomas and 15 low-grade gliomas confirmed by histopathology. The B0-corrected CEST z-spectra were first calculated with magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry (MTRasym) analysis at frequency offsets of 3.5, 3, 2.5, 2, 1.5, and 1 ppm to obtain the fit-free metrics and subsequently fitted with three Lorentzian functions denoting direct water saturation (DS), amide proton transfer (APT), and combined semisolid magnetization transfer and nuclear Overhauser enhancement (MT & NOE) effects to derive the fit-based metrics. Wilcoxon rank-sum test was performed to determine if a statistically significant difference was present in the CEST metrics between low- and high-grade gliomas. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to evaluate the differentiation of CEST metrics between low- and high-grade gliomas. Pearson correlation coefficients were employed to evaluate the correlations of CEST metrics. RESULTS: For the fit-free metrics, the highest areas under the curve (AUCs) of 0.85, 0.88, and 0.88, corresponding to MTRasym, MTRnormref (normalization by the reference scan), and MTRRex (subtraction of inverse z-spectra), respectively, were obtained at 3 ppm across various frequency offsets. In addition, the AUCs generated from the fit-based metrics (0.88-0.90) were higher than those generated from the fit-free metrics at 3 ppm. CONCLUSION: The results of this preliminary study indicate that fit-free CEST metrics at 3 ppm are superior to the other frequency offsets for grading human brain gliomas. The fit-based metrics manifested improved differentiation between low- and high-grade gliomas compared to the fit-free CEST metrics.

In this experiment, a series of MnCoGe1-xLax (x = 0, 0.01, 0.03) alloy samples were prepared using a vacuum arc melting method. The crystal structure and magnetic properties of alloys were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Rietveld method, physical property measurement system (PPMS), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) analyses. The results show that all samples were of high-temperature Ni2In-type phases, belonging to space group P63/mmc (194) after 1373 K annealing. The results of Rietveld refinement revealed that the lattice constant and the volume of MnCoGe1-xLax increased along with the values of La constants. The magnetic measurement results show that the Curie temperatures (TC) of the MnCoGe1-xLax series alloys were 294, 281, and 278 K, respectively. The maximum magnetic entropy changes at 1.5T were 1.64, 1.53, and 1.56 J·kg-1·K-1, respectively. The respective refrigeration capacities (RC) were 60.68, 59.28, and 57.72J·kg-1, with a slight decrease along the series. The experimental results show that the doping of La results in decreased TC, basically unchanged magnetic entropy, and slightly decreased RC.

RESUMO

Software for fitting of NMR spectra in MATLAB is presented. Spectra are fitted in the frequency domain, using Fourier transformed lineshapes, which are derived using the experimental acquisition and processing parameters. This yields more accurate fits compared to common fitting methods that use Lorentzian or Gaussian functions. Furthermore, a very time-efficient algorithm for calculating and fitting spectra has been developed. The software also performs initial peak picking, followed by subsequent fitting and refinement of the peak list, by iteratively adding and removing peaks to improve the overall fit. Estimation of error on fitting parameters is performed using a Monte-Carlo approach. Many fitting options allow the software to be flexible enough for a wide array of applications, while still being straightforward to set up with minimal user input.

A method was developed for calculating the decision thresholds for gamma-ray spectrometric measurements. At the energies where gamma-ray emitters that are present in the nuclide library, but were not identified in the spectrum, radiate, peaks are supposed to appear. The peak areas are calculated by fitting, using the method of least squares, the spectral region of the supposed peaks with a continuous background and the spectrometer response function at the gamma-ray energies where the supposed peaks are positioned. The null measurement uncertainty of a gamma-ray emitter is obtained as the uncertainty of the weighted average of the activities calculated from the areas of the supposed peaks in a spectrum where the specified activity of the gamma-ray emitter is zero. For the calculation of the decision threshold the null measurement uncertainty is used. These decision thresholds overestimate the critical limits calculated with the Currie formula by about 10% in the case of single gamma-ray emitters. For multi-gamma-ray emitters the decision thresholds yield smaller values than the Currie formula. The presence of a peaked background or peaks that are near the supposed peaks increases the decision threshold considerably.
