RESUMO

This study investigates the effectiveness of using Hospital Fit as part of usual care physiotherapy on the physical activity (PA) behavior of hospitalized patients compared to patients who received physiotherapy before implementation of Hospital Fit. In addition, a process evaluation is conducted. A prospective, multi-center, mixed-methods stepped wedge cluster randomized trial was performed at the cardiology and medical oncology departments of two Dutch university medical centers. Patients were included in the non-intervention or intervention phase. During the non-intervention phase, patients received usual care physiotherapy. During the intervention phase, Hospital Fit was additionally used. Mean time spent walking, standing, lying/sitting per day and the number of postural transitions from lying/sitting to standing/walking positions were measured using an accelerometer and analyzed using linear mixed models. A process evaluation was performed using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with patients and focus-group interviews with healthcare professionals. A total of 77 patients were included, and data from 63 patients were used for data analysis. During the intervention phase, the average time spent walking per day was 20 min (95% confidence interval: -2 to 41 min) higher than during the non-intervention phase (p = 0.075). No significant differences were found for mean time spent standing per day, mean time spent lying/sitting per day, or the number of postural transitions per day either. During the intervention phase, 87% of patients used Hospital Fit at least once, with a median daily use of 2.5 to 4.0 times. Patients and healthcare professionals believed that Hospital Fit improved patients' PA behavior and recovery. Insufficient digital skills and technical issues were described as challenges. Although patients and healthcare professionals described Hospital Fit as an added value, no statistically significant effects were found.

Patients with low back pain caused by sacroiliac joint (SIJ) dysfunction have an impaired quality of life, due to reported pain, disability and activity limitations. There is increasing evidence that minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion (MISJF) results in improvement in pain, disability and quality of life in these patients. Some studies have reported improvements in daily physical activity following MISJF but based on bias-prone self-reports. Our aim was to provide objective data on daily physical activity in patients with SIJ dysfunction. Daily physical activity in daily life of participants was measured using a triaxial accelerometer for seven consecutive days, before surgery and 3 months after surgery. Recorded daily activities were the daily number of events and total time spent sitting or lying, standing, walking, cycling, high-activity and number of steps and sit-to-stand transfers. The quality of life was assessed by the validated Dutch EQ-5D-5 L-questionnaire. No statistical differences were observed between daily physical activity in patients with SIJ dysfunction before and 3 months after MISJF. As compared to matched controls, high-intensity physical activity was lower in both the pre- and postoperative period (p = 0.007) for patients with SIJ dysfunction. The quality of life improved significantly in patients after MSIJF, from 0.418 to 0.797 (p = 0.021) but did not reach the level of controls (1.000). Daily physical activity in patients with postpartum SIJ dysfunction does not improve 3 months following MISJF, while quality of life does improve significantly. The discrepancy between these two observations is food for new research.

Objective: To assess technical usability of the BigO app and clinical portal among diverse participants and explore the overall user experiences of both. Methods: Methods included technical usability testing by measuring the relative user efficiency score (RUS) for the app and measuring Relative User Efficiency (RUE) using the 'think aloud' method with the clinical portal. Qualitative approaches involved focus groups with adolescent app users and semi-structured one-to-one interviews with clinician participants. Thematic analysis was applied to analyze qualitative data. Participants: Clinical participants consisted of adolescents seeking treatment for severe obesity and were invited via telephone/face to face to attend technical usability testing and a focus group. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) and researchers using the BigO clinical portal interface were invited to participate in usability testing and semi-structured interviews. Results: From 14 families invited to attend, seven consented to join the study and four adolescents (mean age=13.8 (SD 0.8) years) participated. Additionally, six HCPs and one pediatric obesity researcher took part. RUS for adolescents indicated that the tasks required of them via myBigO app were feasible, and technically efficient. No user-related errors were observed during tasks. Technical barriers reported by adolescents included notifications of battery optimization, misunderstanding image annotation language, and compatibility challenges with certain phone models. RUS for the HCPs and researcher indicated that basic technical skills are a potential barrier for clinical portal use and qualitative findings revealed that clinical users wanted a logging option for monitoring goals and providing feedback on the portal. Conclusion: Our study provided valuable formative findings from clinical end-users in Ireland indicating that adolescents being treated for obesity rated myBigO app as usable, acceptable and that it may assist other key stakeholders to understand food marketing and to monitor dietary and physical activity behaviors. Several key suggestions for future iterations of the clinical portal were provided to enhance its value in pediatric obesity treatment.

PURPOSE: To determine whether menstrual-cycle symptoms are associated with sleep in elite female athletes. METHODS: Sleep was assessed for a minimum of 25 nights (range = 25-31) using activity monitoring and sleep diaries. Menstrual-cycle symptoms were collected over the same duration in 12 elite female professional soccer players. Generalized estimating equations were used to examine the relationship between the day of the menstrual cycle (from day 1) and total menstrual-cycle symptoms on sleep characteristics. RESULTS: There was a significant relationship between sleep duration and the day of the menstrual cycle (P = .042) and total symptoms reported that day (P < .001), with sleep duration increasing by 21 minutes for every symptom reported. There was a negative day × symptom interaction on sleep duration (P = .004), indicating that with increased symptoms, the day of the menstrual cycle had a smaller relationship with sleep duration. Sleep efficiency (P = .950), wake after sleep onset (P = .217), and subjective sleep quality (P = .080) were not related to the day of the menstrual cycle. The total symptoms reported had no relationship with sleep efficiency (P = .220), subjective sleep quality (P = .502), or sleep latency (P = .740) but did significantly relate to wake after sleep onset (P < .001), with a significant day × symptom interaction (P < .001). CONCLUSIONS: Sleep duration increased from day 1 of the menstrual cycle and was associated with the number of menstrual-cycle symptoms reported. All other sleep metrics remained unchanged; however, total symptoms reported were related to wake after sleep onset. Monitoring and managing menstrual-cycle symptoms should be encouraged due to a potential relationship with sleep characteristics.

This work presents the development and testing of an experimental web-based SDR (software-defined radio) monitoring system for indirect solar activity detection, which has the ability to estimate and potentially predict various events in space and on earth, including solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and geomagnetic storms. The proposed system can be used to investigate the effect of solar activity on the propagation of very-low-frequency (VLF) signals. The advantages and benefits of the given approach are as follows: increasing measurement accuracy and eventual solar activity identification by combining measurements from multiple spatially distributed SDRs. The verification process involves carrying out several experiments comparing data from the GOES satellite system and the Dunksin SuperSID system with information received by the SDR monitoring system. Then, utilizing Pearson correlation coefficients, the measured data from the SDRs, along with those from the GOES satellite system and the Dunsing monitoring station, are investigated. At the time of a solar flare, the correlation value is above 90% for most of the stations used. Combining the signal-to-noise ratio via summation also shows an improvement in the results, with a correlation above 98%.

Acrylamide (ACR) is a known carcinogen and neurotoxin. It is chronically consumed in carbohydrate-rich snacks processed at high temperatures. This calls for systematic research into the effects of ACR intake, best performed in an experimental model capable of detecting symptoms of its neurotoxicity at both high and low doses. Here, we study the influence of 10 µg/g (corresponding to the concentrations found in food products) and, for comparison, 60, 80 and 110 µg/g dietary ACR, on the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. We show that chronic administration of ACR affects lifespan, activity level and, most importantly, the daily and circadian pattern of locomotor activity of Drosophila. ACR-treated flies show well-defined and concentration-dependent symptoms of ACR neurotoxicity; a reduced anticipation of upcoming changes in light conditions and increased arrhythmicity in constant darkness. The results suggest that the rhythm-generating neural circuits of their circadian oscillator (biological clock) are sensitive to ACR even at low concentrations if the exposure time is sufficiently long. This makes the behavioural readout of the clock, the rhythm of locomotor activity, a useful tool for studying the adverse effects of ACR and probably other compounds.

This study presents a novel computational radio frequency identification (RFID) system designed specifically for assisting blind individuals, utilising software-defined radio (SDR) with coherent detection. The system employs battery-less ultra-high-frequency (UHF) tag arrays in Gen2 RFID systems, enhancing the transmission of sensed information beyond standard identification bits. Our method uses an SDR reader to efficiently manage multiple tags with Gen2 preambles implemented on a single transceiver card. The results highlight the system's real-time capability to detect movements and direction of walking within a four-meter range, indicating significant advances in contactless activity monitoring. This system not only handles the complexities of multiple tag scenarios but also delineates the influence of system parameters on RFID operational efficiency. This study contributes to assistive technology, provides a platform for future advancements aimed at addressing contemporary limitations in pseudo-localisation, and offers a practical, affordable assistance system for blind individuals.

PURPOSE: Simultaneous membrane-based feeding and monitoring of the oxygen transfer rate shall be introduced to the newly established perforated ring flask, which consists of a cylindrical glass flask with an additional perforated inner glass ring, for rapid bioprocess development. METHODS: A 3D-printed adapter was constructed to enable monitoring of the oxygen transfer rate in the perforated ring flasks. Escherichia coli experiments in batch were performed to validate the adapter. Fed-batch experiments with different diffusion rates and feed solutions were performed. RESULTS: The adapter and the performed experiments allowed a direct comparison of the perforated ring flasks with Erlenmeyer flasks. In batch cultivations, maximum oxygen transfer capacities of 80 mmol L-1 h-1 were reached with perforated ring flasks, corresponding to a 3.5 times higher capacity than in Erlenmeyer flasks. Fed-batch experiments with a feed reservoir concentration of 500 g glucose L-1 were successfully conducted. Based on the oxygen transfer rate, an ammonium limitation could be observed. By adding 40 g ammonium sulfate L-1 to the feed reservoir, the limitation could be prevented. CONCLUSION: The membrane-based feeding, an online monitoring technique, and the perforated ring flask were successfully combined and offer a new and promising tool for screening and process development in biotechnology.

This study presents a novel solution for ambient assisted living (AAL) applications that utilizes spiking neural networks (SNNs) and reconfigurable neuromorphic processors. As demographic shifts result in an increased need for eldercare, due to a large elderly population that favors independence, there is a pressing need for efficient solutions. Traditional deep neural networks (DNNs) are typically energy-intensive and computationally demanding. In contrast, this study turns to SNNs, which are more energy-efficient and mimic biological neural processes, offering a viable alternative to DNNs. We propose asynchronous cellular automaton-based neurons (ACANs), which stand out for their hardware-efficient design and ability to reproduce complex neural behaviors. By utilizing the remote supervised method (ReSuMe), this study improves spike train learning efficiency in SNNs. We apply this to movement recognition in an elderly population, using motion capture data. Our results highlight a high classification accuracy of 83.4%, demonstrating the approach's efficacy in precise movement activity classification. This method's significant advantage lies in its potential for real-time, energy-efficient processing in AAL environments. Our findings not only demonstrate SNNs' superiority over conventional DNNs in computational efficiency but also pave the way for practical neuromorphic computing applications in eldercare.

BACKGROUND: Motor impairments not only lead to a significant reduction in patient activity levels but also trigger a further deterioration in motor function due to deconditioning, which is an issue that is particularly pronounced during hospitalization. This deconditioning can be countered by sustaining appropriate activity levels. Activities that occur outside of scheduled programs, often overlooked, are critical in this context. Wearable technology, such as smart clothing, provides a means to monitor these activities. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to observe activity levels in patients who had strokes during the subacute phase, focusing on both scheduled training sessions and other nontraining times in an inpatient rehabilitation environment. A smart clothing system is used to simultaneously measure heart rate and acceleration, offering insights into both the amount and intensity of the physical activity. METHODS: In this preliminary cohort study, 11 individuals undergoing subacute stroke rehabilitation were enrolled. The 48-hour continuous measurement system, deployed at admission and reassessed 4 weeks later, monitored accelerometry data for physical activity (quantified with a moving SD of acceleration [MSDA]) and heart rate for intensity (quantified with percent heart rate reserve). The measurements were performed using a wearable activity monitoring system, the hitoe (NTT Corporation and Toray Industries, Inc) system comprising a measuring garment (wear or strap) with integrated electrodes, a data transmitter, and a smartphone. The Functional Independence Measure was used to assess the patients' daily activity levels. This study explored factors such as differences in activity during training and nontraining periods, correlations with activities of daily living (ADLs) and age, and changes observed after 4 weeks. RESULTS: A significant increase was found in the daily total MSDA after the 4-week program, with the average percent heart rate reserve remaining consistent. Physical activity during training positively correlated with ADL levels both at admission (ρ=0.86, P<.001) and 4 weeks post admission (ρ=0.96, P<.001), whereas the correlation between age and MSDA was not significant during training periods at admission (ρ=-0.41, P=.21) or 4 weeks post admission (ρ=-0.25, P=.45). Conversely, nontraining activity showed a negative correlation with age, with significant negative correlations with age at admission (ρ=-0.82, P=.002) and 4 weeks post admission (ρ=-0.73, P=.01). CONCLUSIONS: Inpatient rehabilitation activity levels were positively correlated with ADL levels. Further analysis revealed a strong positive correlation between scheduled training activities and ADL levels, whereas nontraining activities showed no such correlation. Instead, a negative correlation between nontraining activities and age was observed. These observations suggest the importance of providing activity opportunities for older patients, while it may also suggest the need for adjusting the activity amount to accommodate the potentially limited fitness levels of this demographic. Future studies with larger patient groups are warranted to validate and further elucidate these findings.

Background: The effectiveness of knee orthoses as part of conservative treatment for patients with medial knee osteoarthritis has not been fully explored. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a novel semi-rigid knee orthosis on pain, physical activity, and functional capacity. Methods: Pain levels, physical activity, and functional capacity were assessed in 24 participants experiencing symptomatic medial knee osteoarthritis one week before (i.e., pretest) initiating a six-week orthosis intervention and again during the final week of the intervention (i.e., post-test). Results: Night pain, pain during walking, pain during stair climbing, and pain during sitting consistently decreased by 41% to 48% while wearing the knee orthosis. Device-based measured physical activity showed a 20.2-min increase in vigorous physical activity during the post-test, while light and moderate physical activity did not show significant changes. After six weeks of orthosis application, there was a 5% increased distance for the six-minute walk test, and participants reported fewer limitations both in everyday and athletic activities, as well as an enhanced quality of life. Conclusions: These findings highlight the potential effectiveness of a semi-rigid knee orthosis to enhancing functional capacity and quality of life. More extensive and longer clinical trials are needed to improve confidence in these findings and understand their impact on disease progression.

Various accelerometry protocols have been used to quantify upper extremity (UE) activity, encompassing diverse epoch lengths and thresholding methods. However, there is no consensus on the most effective approach. The aim of this study was to delineate the optimal parameters for analyzing accelerometry data to quantify UE use in individuals with unilateral cerebral palsy (CP). METHODS: A group of adults with CP (n = 15) participated in six activities of daily living, while a group of children with CP (n = 14) underwent the Assisting Hand Assessment. Both groups performed the activities while wearing ActiGraph GT9X-BT devices on each wrist, with concurrent video recording. Use ratio (UR) derived from accelerometry and video analysis and accelerometer data were compared for different epoch lengths (1, 1.5, and 2 s) and activity count (AC) thresholds (between 2 and 150). RESULTS: In adults, results are comparable across epoch lengths, with the best AC thresholds being ≥ 100. In children, results are similar across epoch lengths of 1 and 1.5 (optimal AC threshold = 50), while the optimal threshold is higher with an epoch length of 2 (AC = 75). CONCLUSIONS: The combination of epoch length and AC thresholds should be chosen carefully as both influence the validity of the quantification of UE use.

BACKGROUND: Delirium is common in geriatric inpatients and associated with poor outcomes. Hospitalization is associated with low levels of physical activity. Motor symptoms are common in delirium, but how delirium affects physical activity remains unknown. AIMS: To investigate differences in physical activity between geriatric inpatients with and without delirium. METHODS: We included acutely admitted patients ≥ 75 years in a prospective observational study at a medical geriatric ward at a Norwegian University Hospital. Delirium was diagnosed according to the DSM-5 criteria. Physical activity was measured by an accelerometer-based device worn on the right thigh. The main outcome was time in upright position (upright time) per 24 h (00.00 to 23.59) on the first day of hospitalization with verified delirium status. Group differences were analysed using t test. RESULTS: We included 237 patients, mean age 86.1 years (Standard Deviation (SD) 5.1), and 73 patients (30.8%) had delirium. Mean upright time day 1 for the entire group was 92.2 min (SD 84.3), with 50.9 min (SD 50.7) in the delirium group and 110.6 min (SD 89.7) in the no-delirium group, mean difference 59.7 minutes, 95% Confidence Interval 41.6 to 77.8, p value < 0.001. DISCUSSION: Low levels of physical activity in patients with delirium raise the question if immobilization may contribute to poor outcomes in delirium. Future studies should investigate if mobilization interventions could improve outcomes of delirium. CONCLUSIONS: In this sample of geriatric inpatients, the group with delirium had lower levels of physical activity than the group without delirium.

The initial part of the review provides an extensive overview about MXenes as novel and exciting 2D nanomaterials describing their basic physico-chemical features, methods of their synthesis, and possible interfacial modifications and techniques, which could be applied to the characterization of MXenes. Unique physico-chemical parameters of MXenes make them attractive for many practical applications, which are shortly discussed. Use of MXenes for healthcare applications is a hot scientific discipline which is discussed in detail. The article focuses on determination of low molecular weight analytes (metabolites), high molecular weight analytes (DNA/RNA and proteins), or even cells, exosomes, and viruses detected using electrochemical sensors and biosensors. Separate chapters are provided to show the potential of MXene-based devices for determination of cancer biomarkers and as wearable sensors and biosensors for monitoring of a wide range of human activities.

Voluntary wheel running is a common measure of general activity in many rodent models across neuroscience and physiology. However, current commercial wheel monitoring systems can be cost-prohibitive to many investigators, with many of these systems requiring investments of thousands of dollars. In recent years, several open-source alternatives have been developed, and while these tools are much more cost effective than commercial system, they often lack the flexibility to be applied to a wide variety of projects. Here, we have developed PAW, a 3D Printable Arduino-based Wheel logger. PAW is wireless, fully self-contained, easy to assemble, and all components necessary for its production can be obtained for only $75 CAD. Furthermore, with its compact internal electronics, the 3D printed casing can be easily modified to be used with a wide variety of running wheel designs for a wide variety of rodent species. Data recorded with the PAW system shows circadian patterns of activity which is expected from mice and is consistent with results found in the literature. Altogether, PAW is a flexible, low-cost system that can be beneficial to a broad range of researchers who study rodent models.

Telemedicine has the potential to improve access and delivery of healthcare to diverse and aging populations. Recent advances in technology allow for remote monitoring of physiological measures such as heart rate, oxygen saturation, blood glucose, and blood pressure. However, the ability to accurately detect falls and monitor physical activity remotely without invading privacy or remembering to wear a costly device remains an ongoing concern. Our proposed system utilizes a millimeter-wave (mmwave) radar sensor (IWR6843ISK-ODS) connected to an NVIDIA Jetson Nano board for continuous monitoring of human activity. We developed a PointNet neural network for real-time human activity monitoring that can provide activity data reports, tracking maps, and fall alerts. Using radar helps to safeguard patients' privacy by abstaining from recording camera images. We evaluated our system for real-time operation and achieved an inference accuracy of 99.5% when recognizing five types of activities: standing, walking, sitting, lying, and falling. Our system would facilitate the ability to detect falls and monitor physical activity in home and institutional settings to improve telemedicine by providing objective data for more timely and targeted interventions. This work demonstrates the potential of artificial intelligence algorithms and mmwave sensors for HAR.

OBJECTIVE: This systematic review aimed to determine which interventions increase physical activity (PA) and decrease sedentary behavior (SB) based on objective measures of movement behavior in individuals with stroke. DATA SOURCES: The PubMed (Medline), EMBASE, Scopus, CINAHL (EBSCO), and Web of Science databases were searched for articles published up to January 3, 2023. STUDY SELECTION: The StArt 3.0.3 BETA software was used to screen titles, abstracts, and full texts for studies with randomized controlled trial designs; individuals with stroke (≥18 years of age); interventions aimed at increasing PA or decreasing SB; and objective measurement instruments. DATA EXTRACTION: Data extraction was standardized, considering participants and assessments of interest. The risk of bias and quality of evidence of the included studies were assessed. DATA SYNTHESIS: Twenty-eight studies involving 1855 patients were included. Meta-analyses revealed that in the post-stroke acute/subacute phase, exercise interventions combined with behavior change techniques (BCTs) increased both daily steps (standardized mean difference [SMD]=0.65, P=.0002) and time spent on moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activities (MVPAs) duration of PA (SMD=0.68, P=.0004) with moderate-quality evidence. In addition, interventions based only on BCTs increased PA levels with very low-quality evidence (SMD (low-intensity physical activity)=0.36, P=.02; SMD (MVPA)=0.56, P=.0004) and decreased SB with low-quality evidence (SMD=0.48, P=.03). In the post-stroke chronic phase, there is statistical significance in favor of exercise-only interventions in PA frequency (steps/day) with moderate-quality evidence (SMD=0.68, P=.002). In general, the risk of bias in the included studies was low. CONCLUSIONS: In the acute/subacute phase after stroke, the use of BCTs combined with exercise can increase the number of daily steps and time spent on MVPA. In contrast, in the post-stroke chronic phase, exercise-only interventions resulted in a significant increase in daily steps.

This study aimed to elucidate the role of tri-axial accelerometers in assessing therapeutic interventions, specifically constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT), in children with unilateral cerebral palsy (UCP). The primary focus was understanding the correlation between the actigraphy metrics recorded during CIMT sessions and the resultant therapeutic outcomes. Children with UCP, aged between 4 and 12 years, participated in this study from July 2021 to December 2022. In conjunction with in-clinic sessions, during which participants wore tri-axial accelerometers on both limbs, we analyzed actigraphy data over three days of routine activities pre- and post-CIMT. While not all metrics derived from the accelerometers indicated significant improvements post-intervention, there was a clear trend towards a more balanced usage of both limbs, particularly evident in Axis 3, associated with vertical movement (p = 0.017). Additionally, a discernible correlation was observed between changes in the magnitude ratio derived from actigraphy data during CIMT (Δweek3-week1) and variations in traditional assessments pre- and post-intervention (ΔT0-T1), specifically the Assisting Hand Assessment grasp and release. Using tri-axial accelerometers has helped clarify the potential impacts of CIMT on children with UCP. The preliminary results suggest a possible link between actigraphy metrics taken during CIMT and the subsequent therapeutic outcomes determined by standardized tests.

Day-night locomotor activities are the most readily observed outputs of the circadian (~24-h period) clock in many animals. Temporal patterns of the light-dark schedule serve as input to the clock. While circadian activity patterns under various lighting conditions have been observed and documented, the full extent of circadian locomotor activities by genotype and entrainment remains uncharacterized. To facilitate large-scale, parallel cataloging of circadian input-output patterns, we created the LocoBox, an easy-to-construct and easy-to-operate system that can control environmental light with flexible entrainment scenarios combined with the T-cycle and measure locomotor activities in individual home cages. The LocoBox is made using economical, common components, and normal breeding cages can be used for long-term recording. We provide details of the components and blueprints, along with software programs for Arduino and a Python-based graphical user interface (GUI), so that the system can be easily replicated in other laboratories.

OBJECTIVE: Assess the accuracy of predicted daily energy requirement (pDER) reported by a triaxial accelerometer and activity monitor for dogs (FitBark 2; FitBark Inc) and determine whether the activity monitor accurately estimates the observed daily energy requirement (oDER). We hypothesized that the activity monitor would accurately estimate oDER in dogs and meet standards established for human devices. ANIMALS: 23 dogs between the ages of 1 and 10 years and variable sex, breed, and body weight were enrolled from May 5, 2021, through July 23, 2021. METHODS: Dogs were weighed before and after the study period to ensure stable body weights. Owners recorded their dogs' daily caloric intake for the entire 28-day study period while the device monitored physical activity and calculated pDER. oDER was defined as the reported caloric intake required to maintain a stable body weight over a 28-day period. pDER and oDER were compared using Bland-Altman graphs, Passing-Bablock analysis, and Lin's Concordance correlation analysis. P ≤ .05 was considered significant. RESULTS: 23 apparently healthy dogs completed the study. There was no significant difference between starting body weights and ending body weights (P= .5). The activity monitor overpredicted 28-day pDER compared to 28-day oDER in the majority (18/23, 78.3%) of dogs. Based on Bland-Altman analysis, Passing-Bablok regression, and Lin's concordance correlation analysis, there was poor agreement between the pDER and oDER. CLINICAL RELEVANCE: The activity monitors consistently reported inaccurate pDER compared to oDER. Its usability for estimating pDER is of limited clinical and research utility based on the results of this study.
