AIMS: To present a case of primary ventriculitis in a 53-year-old patient caused by Streptococcus intermedius, emphasizing the rarity of the condition and the challenges in achieving clinical improvement despite targeted therapy. METHODS: The patient underwent clinical evaluation, including CT and MRI imaging, as well as CSF analysis. Empirical antibiotic therapy was initiated with cefotaxime and metronidazole, followed by targeted therapy based on CSF culture results. External ventricular drainage was performed surgically. RESULTS: No predisposing factors were identified in the patient. Initial imaging showed no acute changes, but follow-up imaging revealed significant ventricular inflammation. CSF analysis confirmed the presence of Streptococcus intermedius. Despite early and targeted antibiotic therapy, and surgical intervention, the patient's clinical condition did not improve. CONCLUSION: This case highlights the rarity of primary ventriculitis caused by Streptococcus intermedius and the challenges in managing it. The lack of clinical improvement despite prompt and targeted treatment underscores the need for further research to develop more effective therapeutic strategies for such infections.

Purine nucleotides and nucleosides play critical roles in various pathological conditions, including tumor cell growth. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) activates pro-tumor receptors, while adenosine (ADO) is a potent immunosuppressant and modulator of cell growth. This study aims to analyze the purinergic actions of ATP and its metabolites, associated enzymes, and P1 or P2 class receptors in primary central nervous system tumors. Additionally, we sought to correlate the levels of nucleosides and the density of P1, P2X, and P2Y receptors in cells with tumor progression. The results indicate that purinergic signaling depends on the receptor concentration and signaling molecules specific to each cell type, tissue, and tumor histology. The purinergic system may function as either a tumor-promoting agent or an antitumor factor, depending on the microenvironmental conditions and the concentrations of receptors and their respective activators. Notably, ATP emerges as the most significant extracellular signal, capable of being converted into other cellular stimulators pertinent to neoplasms, such as adenosine diphosphate, adenosine monophosphate, adenosine, and inosine. Consequently, a cascade of responses to these stimuli promotes tumor development, cell division, and metastasis. Purine nucleotides in central nervous system tumors are pivotal in cellular responses in glioblastoma multiforme, vestibular schwannoma, medulloblastoma, adenomas, gliomas, meningiomas, and pineal tumors. These findings hold the potential for developing novel therapeutic strategies and aiding in therapeutic management.

Neurological complications are observed less frequently with primary Sjögren syndrome (SS). The central nervous system (CNS) has seldom been shown to exhibit symptoms of SS, making the diagnosis of SS with neurological involvement difficult. We present a rare case scenario in which a young 23-year-old male presenting with an acute history of fever, headache, vomiting, altered sensorium, and seizures was admitted and diagnosed as a sub-acute infarct in the right frontal-parietal-temporal lobes on a computed tomography (CT) scan. Upon further examination, laboratory investigations were suggestive of viral encephalitis. The patient was treated accordingly with antiviral drugs, and the patient improved. The patient took "discharge against medical advice" after 12 days, only to return to the hospital with similar complaints within 15 days. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was done, which suggested an acute evolving infarct in the right frontal and parietal lobe, and further evaluation yielded a diagnosis of SS. The patient was treated with high-dose steroids for seven days. A repeat MRI showed new acute infarcts with dilatation of the ventricular system with periventricular ooze. The patient could not be revived and succumbed after one week of steroid therapy.

Introduction: A first psychotic episode may be related to neurological diseases, especially encephalitis of infectious or autoimmune origin. It is remarkable that an immune-mediated encephalitis triggered by a confirmed subacute bacterial meningitis is documented, and this is the case we will present. Clinical case: A 22-year-old woman with no previous medical history, immunocompetent, with three months of behavioral, affective and cognitive symptoms with subsequent compromise of sensory perception and psychosis. Examination of cerebrospinal fluid showed inflammatory signs with positive FilmArray© for Streptococcus pneumoniae. She received anti-psychotic and antibiotic treatment for 2 weeks without clinical improvement. Postencephalitic syndrome with immune-mediated psychosis was considered as a diagnosis, and immunosuppressive management with corticosteroid and plasmapheresis was initiated with complete resolution of symptoms. After one year of follow-up no neurological relapse has been identified. Discussion: Encephalitis is a neurological syndrome due to brain parenchymal damage that can result in psychiatric symptoms including psychosis and behavioral changes. Its causes are usually infectious (usually viral) or autoimmune (Anti NMDA, AMPA, LGI1 or others). A psychiatric condition in bacterial meningitis without improvement with antibiotic treatment is remarkable, its presence should suggest an immune-mediated post-infectious syndrome that may respond to the use of immunomodulators even in the absence of identification of autoimmune encephalitis-associated antibodies. No similar cases have been reported in the literature. Conclusion: Immune-mediated psychosis may be a manifestation of post-encephalitic syndrome associated with bacterial meningitis and its treatment with immunosuppressants may offer benefit in cases where the use of antipsychotics and antibiotics shows no improvement.

Objective To analyze the clinical features of 17 patients with primary angiitis of the central nervous system (PACNS) and thus facilitate the early diagnosis and treatment,reduce the recurrence and mortality,and improve the prognoses of this disease. Methods We collected the data of patients with PACNS diagnosed by brain biopsy from January 2009 to June 2023 and analyzed their clinical presentations,laboratory and imaging manifestations,electrophysiological and pathological changes,and treatment regimens and prognosis. Results The 17 patients diagnosed with PACNS via brain biopsy included one child and 16 adults.The subtyping results showed that 10,2,3,2,1,and 1 patients had tumorous,spinal cord-involved,angiography-positive,rapidly progressive,hemorrhagic,and amyloid ß-related PACNS,respectively.Eleven (64.7%) of the patients were complicated with secondary epilepsy.All the patients exhibited abnormal manifestations in head MRI,with 94.1% showing lesions with uneven enhancement around the lesions or in the leptomeninges. Magnetic resonance angiography revealed large vessel abnormalities in 3 patients,and spinal cord involvement was observed in 2 patients.Histopathological typing revealed 7 (43.7%) patients with lymphocytic vasculitis and 5 (31.2%) patients with necrotizing vasculitis.Eleven patients were treated with glucocorticoids and cyclophosphamide,which resulted in partial lesion disappearance and symptom amelioration in 6 patients upon reevaluation with head MRI after 3 months of maintenance therapy.Two,1,and 3 patients experienced rapid disease progression,death,and recurrence within 1 year,respectively.Three patients showed insensitivity to hormonotherapy and residual disabilities.Two patients received rituximab after relapse and remained clinically stable during a follow-up period of 0.5-1 year. Conclusion Tumorous PACNS was more prone to epilepsy,mainly occurring in males.The most common histopathological type was necrotizing vasculitis,which responded to hormonotherapy and had favorable outcomes.Therefore,for the young patients with epilepsy and intracranial tumorous lesions,the possibility of PACNS should be considered.Spinal cord involvement in PACNS was often located in the thoracic and cervical cords,suggesting a poorer prognosis.Electromyography commonly revealed neural conduction abnormalities in the anterior horn or roots,providing clues for differential diagnosis.For suspected spinal cord involvement,comprehensive electromyography is recommended.Rapidly progressive PACNS often presented infratentorial lesions,such as lesions in the pons and medulla,with a higher mortality rate.Hemorrhagic PACNS was rare,and a multifocal hemorrhagic lesion with enhancement in the intracranial region,particularly in young patients,should raise suspicion.For the patients with recurrent or progressive disease,rituximab is a recommended therapeutic option.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to investigate what treatment are selected for malignant brain tumors, particularly glioblastoma (GBM) and primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL), in real-world Japan and the costs involved. METHODS: We conducted a questionnaire survey regarding treatment selections for newly diagnosed GBM and PCNSL treated between July 2021 and June 2022 among 47 institutions in the Japan Clinical Oncology Group-Brain Tumor Study Group. We calculated the total cost and cost per month of the initial therapy for newly diagnosed GBM or PCNSL. RESULTS: The most used regimen (46.8%) for GBM in patients aged ≤74 years was 'Surgery + radiotherapy concomitant with temozolomide'. This regimen's total cost was 7.50 million JPY (Japanese yen). Adding carmustine wafer implantation (used in 15.0%), TTFields (used in 14.1%), and bevacizumab (BEV) (used in 14.5%) to the standard treatment of GBM increased the cost by 1.24 million JPY for initial treatment, and 1.44 and 0.22 million JPY per month, respectively. Regarding PCNSL, 'Surgery (biopsy) + rituximab, methotrexate, procarbazine, and vincristine (R-MPV) therapy' was the most used regimen (42.5%) for patients of all ages. This regimen incurred 1.07 million JPY per month. The three PCNSL regimens based on R-MPV therapy were in ultra-high-cost medical care (exceeding 1 million JPY per month). CONCLUSIONS: Treatment of malignant brain tumors is generally expensive, and cost-ineffective treatments such as BEV are frequently used. We believe that the results of this study can be used to design future economic health studies examining the cost-effectiveness of malignant brain tumors.

OBJECTIVE: Research into the effectiveness and applicability of deep learning, radiomics, and their integrated models based on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for preoperative differentiation between Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL) and Glioblastoma (GBM), along with an exploration of the interpretability of these models. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed on MRI images and clinical data from 261 patients across two medical centers. The data were split into a training set (n = 153, medical center 1) and an external test set (n = 108, medical center 2). Radiomic features were extracted using Pyradiomics to build the Radiomics Model. Deep learning networks, including the transformer-based MobileVIT Model and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) based ConvNeXt Model, were trained separately. By applying the "late fusion" theory, the radiomics model and deep learning model were fused to produce the optimal Max-Fusion Model. Additionally, Shapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) and Grad-CAM were employed for interpretability analysis. RESULTS: In the external test set, the Radiomics Model achieved an Area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.86, the MobileVIT Model had an AUC of 0.91, the ConvNeXt Model demonstrated an AUC of 0.89, and the Max-Fusion Model showed an AUC of 0.92. The Delong test revealed a significant difference in AUC between the Max-Fusion Model and the Radiomics Model (P = 0.02). CONCLUSION: The Max-Fusion Model, combining different models, presents superior performance in distinguishing PCNSL and GBM, highlighting the effectiveness of model fusion for enhanced decision-making in medical applications. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT: The preoperative non-invasive differentiation between PCNSL and GBM assists clinicians in selecting appropriate treatment regimens and clinical management strategies.

PURPOSE: Differentiating between glioblastoma (GB) with multiple foci (mGB) and multifocal central nervous system lymphoma (mCNSL) can be challenging because these cancers share several features at first appearance on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The aim of this study was to explore morphological differences in MRI findings for mGB versus mCNSL and to develop an interpretation algorithm with high diagnostic accuracy. METHODS: In this retrospective study, MRI characteristics were compared between 50 patients with mGB and 50 patients with mCNSL treated between 2015 and 2020. The following parameters were evaluated: size, morphology, lesion location and distribution, connections between the lesions on the fluid-attenuated inversion recovery sequence, patterns of contrast enhancement, and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values within the tumor and the surrounding edema, as well as MR perfusion and susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) whenever available. RESULTS: A total of 187 mCNSL lesions and 181 mGB lesions were analyzed. The mCNSL lesions demonstrated frequently a solid morphology compared to mGB lesions, which showed more often a cystic, mixed cystic/solid morphology and a cortical infiltration. The mean measured diameter was significantly smaller for mCNSL than mGB lesions (p < 0.001). Tumor ADC ratios were significantly smaller in mCNSL than in mGB (0.89 ± 0.36 vs. 1.05 ± 0.35, p < 0.001). The ADC ratio of perilesional edema was significantly higher (p < 0.001) in mCNSL than in mGB. In SWI / T2*-weighted imaging, tumor-associated susceptibility artifacts were more often found in mCNSL than in mGB (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: The lesion size, ADC ratios of the lesions and the adjacent tissue as well as the vascularization of the lesions in the MR-perfusion were found to be significant distinctive patterns of mCNSL and mGB allowing a radiological differentiation of these two entities on initial MRI. A diagnostic algorithm based on these parameters merits a prospective validation.

ALK-positive histiocytosis is a rare histiocytic disease characterized by ALK positivity. It was first described in 2008 as a systemic disease in infants. The disease often shows positivity for CD68 and CD163 on immunohistochemistry, and genomic analysis frequently reveals KIF5B::ALK fusions. ALK-positive histiocytosis typically follows an indolent course and has a promising prognosis, with conventional treatments usually being effective. Here, we report a rare case of ALK-positive histiocytosis with exclusive involvement of the central nervous system in a 33-year-old Asian adult woman. Although cranial MRI suggested a meningioma, immunohistochemical workup showed that the ALK-positive tumor cells expressed macrophage/histiocyte markers such as CD163 and CD68. Additionally, second-generation sequencing revealed a KIF5B::ALK fusion. Our case highlights the importance of the differential diagnosis in adult central nervous system tumors, emphasizing the combination of morphology, immunophenotype, and molecular approach with ALK status evaluation to confirm a diagnosis of ALK-positive histiocytosis. This case also expands the clinicopathologic spectrum of ALK-positive histiocytosis.

The occurrence of primary fourth ventricular lymphoma is an exceptionally uncommon phenomenon. Here, we present a case of lymphoma in the fourth ventricle in a 30-year-old male who presented with progressive headache and vertigo over the last one month of his presentation. Preoperative MRI revealed a space-occupying lesion of the fourth ventricle. Pathological analysis following complete resection confirmed the lesion as primary central nervous system lymphoma. The patient underwent chemotherapy following the MTR (methotrexate, temozolomide, and rituximab) protocol with four months of uneventful follow-up, indicating no disease recurrence. Therefore, clinicians are advised to consider the potential presence of lymphoma as part of the differential diagnosis for space-occupying lesions, especially when there is a combination of clinical deterioration and rapid imaging progression.

Hemangioblastomas are rare, benign, and highly vascular tumors of the central nervous system, often associated with von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome, an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by multiple tumors. We present a case of a 32-year-old male with progressive headaches, visual disturbances, and motor deficits, who was diagnosed with multiple hemangioblastomas in the cervical-thoracic spinal cord and bilateral cerebellum through MRI. Surgical resection and histopathological biopsy confirmed the diagnosis. This case highlights the critical role of MRI in diagnosing and managing VHL-associated hemangioblastomas and underscores the importance of regular imaging for early detection and intervention of new or recurring tumors, optimizing patient outcomes.

Central nervous system (CNS) tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children. Typical therapy for CNS tumors in children involves a combination of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. While upfront therapy is effective for many high-grade tumors, therapy at the time of relapse remains limited. Furthermore, for diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) and diffuse midline glioma (DMG), there are currently no curative therapies. Chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR T) cell therapy is a promising novel treatment avenue for these tumors. Here, we review the preclinical evidence for CAR T cell use in pediatric brain tumors, the preliminary clinical experience of CNS CAR T cell trials, toxicity associated with systemic and locoregional CAR T cell therapy for CNS tumors, challenges in disease response evaluation with CAR T cell therapy, and the knowledge gained from correlative biologic studies from these trials in the pediatric and young adult population.

Neonicotinoids represent over a quarter of the global pesticide market. Research on their environmental impact has revealed their adverse effect on the cognitive functions of pollinators, in particular of bees. Cognitive impairments, mostly revealed by behavioural studies, are the phenotypic expression of an alteration in the underlying neural circuits, a matter deserving greater attention. Here, we reviewed studies on the impact of field-relevant doses of neonicotinoids on the neurophysiology and neurodevelopment of bees. In particular, we focus on their olfactory system as much knowledge has been gained on the different brain areas that participate in odour processing. Recent studies have revealed the detrimental effects of neonicotinoids at multiple levels of the olfactory system, including modulation of odorant-induced activity in olfactory sensory neurons, diminished neural responses in the antennal lobe (the first olfactory processing centre) and abnormal development of the neural connectivity within the mushroom bodies (central neuropils involved in multisensory integration, learning and memory storage, among others). Given the importance of olfactory perception for multiple aspects of bee biology, the reported disruption of the olfactory circuit, which can occur even upon exposure to sublethal doses of neonicotinoids, has severe consequences at both individual and colony levels. Moreover, the effects reported for a multimodal structure such as the mushroom bodies indicate that neonicotinoids' impact translates to other sensory domains. Assessing the impact of field-relevant doses of pesticides on bee neurophysiology is crucial for understanding how neonicotinoids influence their behaviour in ecological contexts and for defining effective and sustainable agricultural practices.

We report the case of a patient suffering from biopsy-proven relapsing tumefactive demyelinating lesions (TDLs) of the central nervous system who had five relapses in 16 years. No signs/symptoms suggestive of alternative pathologies emerged during the follow-up. A limited benefit was observed with intravenous (IV) high-dose steroids, while both plasma exchange and IV immunoglobulin G (IgG) administration were ineffective. A long-lasting (9 years) but transient clinical stabilization was obtained with cyclophosphamide. Our case supports the view that recurrent TDL is a relapsing brain inflammation not belonging to multiple sclerosis (MS) or myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG)-/AQP4-associated disorders. TDL concept and clinical features should be revised.

BACKGROUND: The burgeoning field of regenerative medicine has significantly advanced with recent findings on biotherapies using human platelet lysates (HPLs), derived from clinical-grade platelet concentrates (PCs), for treating brain disorders. These developments have opened new translational research avenues to explore the neuroprotective effects of platelet-extracellular vesicles (PEVs). Their potential in managing neurodegenerative conditions like traumatic brain injury (TBI) and Parkinson's disease (PD) warrants further exploration. We aimed here to characterize the composition of a PEV preparation isolated from platelet concentrate (PC) supernatant, and determine its neuroprotective potential and neurorestorative effects in cellular and animal models of TBI and PD. METHODS: We isolated PEVs from the supernatant of clinical-grade PC collected from healthy blood donors utilizing high-speed centrifugation. PEVs were characterized by biophysical, biochemical, microscopic, and LC-MS/MS proteomics methods to unveil biological functions. Their functionality was assessed in vitro using SH-SY5Y neuronal cells, LUHMES dopaminergic neurons, and BV-2 microglial cells, and in vivo by intranasal administration in a controlled cortical impact (CCI)-TBI model using 8-weeks-old male C57/BL6 mice, and in a PD model induced by MPTP in 5-month-old male C57/BL6 mice. RESULTS: PEVs varied in size from 50 to 350 nm, predominantly around 200 nm, with concentrations ranging between 1010 and 1011/mL. They expressed specific platelet membrane markers, exhibited a lipid bilayer by cryo-electron microscopy and, importantly, showed low expression of pro-coagulant phosphatidylserine. LC-MS/MS indicated a rich composition of trophic factors, including neurotrophins, anti-inflammatory agents, neurotransmitters, and antioxidants, unveiling their multifaceted biological functions. PEVs aided in the restoration of neuronal functions in SH-SY5Y cells and demonstrated remarkable neuroprotective capabilities against erastin-induced ferroptosis in dopaminergic neurons. In microglial cells, they promoted anti-inflammatory responses, particularly under inflammatory conditions. In vivo, intranasally delivered PEVs showed strong anti-inflammatory effects in a TBI mouse model and conserved tyrosine hydroxylase expression of dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra in a PD model, leading to improved motor function. CONCLUSIONS: The potential of PEV-based therapies in neuroprotection opens new therapeutic avenues for neurodegenerative disorders. The study advocates for clinical trials to establish the efficacy of PEV-based biotherapies in neuroregenerative medicine.

BACKGROUND: A major obstacle in translating the therapeutic potential of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells to children with central nervous system (CNS) tumors is the blood-brain barrier. To overcome this limitation, preclinical and clinical studies have supported the use of repeated, locoregional intracranial CAR T-cell delivery. However, there is limited literature available describing the process for the involvement of an investigational drug service (IDS) pharmacy, particularly in the setting of a children's hospital with outpatient dosing for CNS tumors. OBJECTIVES: To describe Seattle Children's Hospital's experience in clinically producing CAR T cells and the implementation of IDS pharmacy practices used to deliver more than 300 intracranial CAR T-cell doses to children, as well as to share how we refined the processing techniques from CAR T-cell generation to the thawing of fractionated doses for intracranial delivery. METHODS: Autologous CD4+ and CD8+ T cells were collected and transduced to express HER2, EGFR, or B7-H3-specific CAR T cells. Cryopreserved CAR T cells were thawed by the IDS pharmacy before intracranial delivery to patients with recurrent/refractory CNS tumors or with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma/diffuse midline glioma. RESULTS: The use of a thaw-and-dilute procedure for cryopreserved individual CAR T-cell doses provides reliable viability and is more efficient than typical thaw-and-wash protocols. Cell viability with the thaw-and-dilute protocol was approximately 75% and was always within 10% of the viability assessed at cryopreservation. Cell viability was preserved through 6 hours after thawing, which exceeded the 1-hour time frame from thawing to infusion. CONCLUSION: As the field of adoptive immunotherapy grows and continues to bring hope to patients with fatal CNS malignancies, it is critical to focus on improving the preparatory steps for CAR T-cell delivery.

Introduction: Coxsackievirus A6 (CV-A6) has emerged as the predominant epidemic strain responsible for hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD). CV-A6 infection can result in severe clinical manifestations, including encephalitis, meningitis, and potentially life-threatening central nervous system disorders. Our previous research findings demonstrated that neonatal mice infected with CV-A6 exhibited limb weakness, paralysis, and ultimately succumbed to death. However, the underlying mechanism of CV-A6-induced nervous system injury remains elusive. Numerous reports have highlighted the pivotal role of miRNAs in various viral infections. Methods: Separately established infection and control groups of mice were used to create miRNA profiles of the brain tissues before and after CV-A6 transfection, followed by experimental verification, prediction, and analysis of the results. Results: At 2 days post-infection (dpi), 4 dpi, and 2dpi vs 4dpi, we identified 175, 198 and 78 significantly differentially expressed miRNAs respectively using qRT-PCR for validation purposes. Subsequently, we predicted target genes of these differentially expressed miRNAs and determined their potential targets through GO (Gene Ontology) enrichment analysis and KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) enrichment analysis. Finally, we verified the miRNA-mRNA pairing via double luciferase experiments while confirming functional enrichment of target genes through Western Blotting analyses. Discussion: The results from this study suggest that transcriptional regulation, neuronal necrosis, pro-inflammatory cytokine release, and antiviral immunity are all implicated in the pathogenesis of central nervous system injury in mice infected with CV-A6. Brain injury resulting from CV-A6 infection may involve multiple pathways, including glial cell activation, neuronal necrosis, synaptic destruction, degenerative diseases of the nervous system. It can even encompass destruction of the blood-brain barrier, leading to central nervous system injury. The dysregulated miRNAs and signaling pathways discovered in this study provide valuable insights for further investigations into the pathogenesis of CV-A6.

OBJECTIVE: Clinical validity of genome sequencing (GS) (>30×) has been preliminarily verified in the post-natal setting. This study is to investigate the potential utility of trio-GS as a prenatal test for diagnosis of central nervous system (CNS) anomalies. METHODS: We performed trio-based GS on a prospective cohort of 17 foetuses with CNS abnormalities. Single nucleotide variation (SNV), small insertion and deletion (Indel), copy number variation (CNV), structural variant (SV), and regions with absence of heterozygosity (AOH) were analyzed and classified according to ACMG guidelines. RESULTS: Trio-GS identified diagnostic findings in 29.4% (5/17) of foetuses, with pathogenic variants found in SON, L1CAM, KMT2D, and ASPM. Corpus callosum (CC) and cavum septum pellucidum (CSP) abnormalities were the most frequent CNS abnormalities (47.1%, 8/17) with a diagnostic yield of 50%. A total of 29.4% (5/17) foetuses had variants of uncertain significance (VUS). Particularly, maternal uniparental disomy 16 and a de novo mosaic 4p12p11 duplication were simultaneously detected in one foetus with abnormal sulcus development. In addition, parentally inherited chromosomal inversions were identified in two foetuses. CONCLUSION: GS demonstrates its feasibility in providing genetic diagnosis for foetal CNS abnormalities and shows the potential to expand the application to foetuses with other ultrasound anomalies in prenatal diagnosis.
