RESUMO

Constrained groove pressing (CGP) process is one of the most efficient and novel methods of severe plastic deformation to manufacture ultra-fine sheet metal. The present research work is related to the study of CGP process of 2024-T3 Aluminum alloy sheet. The empirical and numerical simulation of CGPed- specimens have been examined at both room and elevated temperatures. In order to simulate the constrained groove pressing process in Abaqus software, the Johnson-Cook material model has been employed. The geometrical variables of the CGP process include the teeth number, teeth angle, and sheet thickness, and the criterion for the superiority of the numerical test is the maximum reduction of two equivalent strain and equivalent force factors, simultaneously. To determine the weight's coefficients of the target factors and select the superior test, the Shannon's Entropy and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) methods have been used, respectively. After validating the numerical findings, the variation of damage parameter, stress triaxiality and the equivalent plastic strain distribution in the superior practical condition have been evaluated in detail. Based on the Entropy-SAW hybrid technique, the weight's coefficients of equivalent strain and equivalent force target factors were computed to, in turn, 0.38 and 0.62. Also, the results revealed that the CGP process could not be performed at room temperature based on high damage evolution. But, at elevated temperature, the damage parameter (D) doesn't exceed 0.26. Also, the maximum stress triaxiality and equivalent plastic strain (PEEQ) at this process temperature reached to 0.5 and 0.1, respectively.

RESUMO

Cold bending forming is a complex forming process, and its product quality is closely related to the forming process parameters. To mitigate issues such as bulging and waviness arising from the extension of the material at the edges during the forming process of thin-walled circular tubes, a comprehensive comparative analysis was conducted on four forming methods. This analysis determined that the combined bending method is the optimal forming technique for the equipment. For the impact of different parameters on the equivalent plastic strain distribution of the product and the force on the rollers, numerical simulations were carried out using the software COPRA (COPRA FEA RF 2023.1) after designing the pattern diagram based on the integrated bending method. The results showed that different processing speeds on the equivalent plastic strain distribution and work hardening of the plate have little effect. As the spacing between the upper and lower rollers increases, the equivalent plastic strain of the plate to a certain extent and the value of the moment of the rollers is significantly reduced. Analyzing the performance characteristics of high-strength steel materials from the aspects of the thickness strain and cross-sectional forming of the plate, this verifies the advantages of forming high-strength steel plates. The numerical simulation results of this study are in good agreement with actual production experimental results.

RESUMO

The current work reveals the influence of loading parameters on the crack growth behavior of a Zr/Ti/steel composite plate with a crack normal to the interface by using an experiment and the finite element method. The Chaboche model was first used to study cyclic plastic evolution in composite materials. The results reveal that an increase in Fmax, Fm, and Fa can promote da/dN; meanwhile, an increase in R will reduce da/dN. The plastic strain accumulation results indicate that Fm mainly contributes to the tensile strain and compressive stress after the first cycle. Additionally, Fa increases the stress range and compression stress and greatly improves the plastic strain accumulation degree in subsequent loading cycles. The Fmax can significantly increase the stress amplitude and plastic strain accumulation level. When R increases, the plastic strain accumulation increases a little, but the stress amplitude and compression stress decrease greatly. Furthermore, it is also found that the elastic-plastic mismatch also affects the plastic evolution, that is, strengthening or weakening the effect of the loading parameters.
