RESUMO

Luteal phase defect (LPD) is a common female reproductive endocrine defect,which is associated not only with certain diseases but also with the menstrual cycle and fertility in women. With the development of assisted reproductive technology (ART) in recent years, the incidence of luteal phase defect is high among patients using assisted reproductive technology. The aim of this study was to evaluate worldwide research on luteal phase defects using bibliometric analysis. A total of 631 documents related to the study of luteal phase defect were identified over the last 52 years. The current status and trend of globalization can be comprehended by analyzing the annual number of publications, institutions, authors, countries and regions of corresponding authors, journals, influential luteal phase defect publications (which were highly cited), highly cited references in luteal phase defect publications (cocitation analysis) and keywords. The study results provide a comprehensive overview of the development of scientific literature and are of great significance for the future development of the field,especially infertility and early pregnancy loss.

Background: The resilience of healthcare workers has gained increasing attention, yet comprehensive studies focusing on recent trends and developments are scarce. We conducted an extensive bibliometric analysis from inception to 2023 to address this gap. Methods: Publications on healthcare workers' resilience were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Bibliometric analysis was conducted with CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Scimago Graphica, focusing on annual publications, country/region, institution, journal, author, keyword analysis, and reference co-citation analysis related to resilience in healthcare workers. Results: The analysis included 750 documents, revealing a general upward trend in publications across 67 countries/regions, 1,251 institutions, and 3,166 authors. The USA and China emerged as the top contributors, with 192 and 168 publications, respectively. Based on keyword analysis and reference co-citation analysis, the focus areas include the Resilience Scale, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on HCWs and their resilience, and nurse resilience. Conclusion: This study highlights the growing interest in healthcare workers' resilience by using bibliometric and visualization techniques for effective analysis. This paper will enhance scholars' understanding of the dynamic evolution of healthcare workers' resilience and identify emerging research topics.

Aim of the study: To analyze the progress in Mongolian medicine and medicinal materials and to highlight its development process, emerging trends, and hotspots. Materials and methods: Papers on Mongolian medicine and medicinal materials from January 2000 to May 2022 were retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database. Using the collaboration network analysis of CiteSpace V and VOSviewer software, the cooperation among individuals and institutions in the field of scientific research was analyzed. The functions of frequency analysis, cluster analysis, and burst analysis were employed to conduct bibliometric analysis on research hotspots and trends in the field of Mongolian medicine research. Furthermore, the data visualization function was utilized to clearly display data trends and changes. Results: A total of 8362 papers on Mongolian medicine medicinal materials from CNKI were identified and analyzed.The research on Mongolian medicine has gone through three stages: the initial stage, the exploratory stage, and the developmental stage. The top two institutions in the number of papers are Inner Mongolia Medical University and Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities. Bagenna from Inner Mongolia Medical University is the author with the most papers. "clinical efficacy", "clinical research", and "quality standards" were the most frequently used keywords. Research in the field of Mongolian medicine has focused on several diseases, including skeletal system disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and digestive system disorders. Conclusion: Since 2000, there have been growing attention and efforts made in the field of Mongolian medicine and medicinal materials. The research in the field of Mongolian medicine had undergone three stages, namely the initial stage, the exploratory stage, and the developmental stage. The focus shifted from basic research such as the analysis of medicinal ingredients in Mongolian herbs to the application-oriented directions of traditional treatment techniques and advantageous diseases in Mongolian medicine. To make breakthroughs in this field, further research is needed to improve the persuasiveness and authority of Mongolian medicine and medicinal materials in terms of mechanism, standardization, and safety, to promote the development of Mongolian medicine and medicinal materials.

This study analyzes 1643 documents related to skiing from 1974 to 2023 using the Web of Science Core Collection database, employing CiteSpace and VOSviewer for quantitative analysis. Findings reveal a growing literature output, with the past five years contributing to 36.2 % of publications. Norway leads in total publications and collaboration intensity, with the University of Salzburg and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology as prominent institutions. The research spans a wide range of disciplines such as Sport Sciences, Physiology, etc., and interdisciplinary intersections with engineering, computer science, etc. have become a future research trend. The research focuses on the analysis of skiers' sports performance, the analysis of skiing-induced sports injuries, the biomechanical analysis of skiers' postures, and the analysis of skiing-induced respiratory diseases. The study highlights the evolution of research focus from skiing injuries to injury prevention and sports performance enhancement. This comprehensive overview aids scholars in understanding skiing research hotspots and future trends efficiently.

Background: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) technology has been developed for decades, and its application is becoming increasingly more extensive. In this study, bibliometrics was used to characterize the development status of CEUS over the past 20 years and to identify future research hotspots. Methods: We collected data from the Web of Science and analyzed the literature related to CEUS published from 2002 to 2022. We examined 6,382 publications and analyzed the publication year, country of origin, affiliated institutions, authors, journal, categories, keywords, and research frontiers within the relevant literature. Using bibliometric analysis, we aimed to determine the general research direction and current publication trends. This allowed us to identify the most prolific and outstanding authors, institutions, countries, and keywords in CEUS research. For data collection, analysis, and visualization, we employed VOSviewer (Leiden University, Leiden, the Netherlands), Excel (Microsoft Corp., Redmond, WA, USA), CiteSpace, and biblioshiny. These tools helped us gather, analyze, and visualize the data effectively. Results: The analyzed publications indicated a consistent upward trend in the number of works published between 2002 and 2022. Notably, China and Sun Yat-sen University emerged as the most prolific countries and institutions, respectively. China published 391 articles with 5,817 citations and was the leader in terms of international cooperation. Moreover, pediatrics-related keywords have surged in frequency in recent years. Conclusions: The amount of research on CEUS has increased rapidly and continues to grow, with China being at the forefront of this research field. The application of CEUS in some pediatric diseases is a recent research hotspot and perhaps warrants close attention.

Background: Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) has drawn an increasing amount of attention over the last 20 years. At present, there is a shortage of intuitive analysis on the trends in development, key contributors, and research hotspots topics in the NPH field. This study aims to analyze the evolution of NPH research, evaluate publications both qualitatively and quantitatively, and summarize the current research hotspots. Methods: A bibliometric analysis was conducted on data retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database between 2003 and 2023. Quantitative assessments were conducted using bibliometric analysis tools such as VOSviewer and CiteSpace software. Results: A total of 2,248 articles published between 2003 and 2023 were retrieved. During this period, the number of publications steadily increased. The United States was the largest contributor. The University of Gothenburg led among institutions conducting relevant research. Eide P. K. was the most prolific author. The Journal of Neurosurgery is the leading journal on NPH. According to the analysis of the co-occurrence of keywords and co-cited references, the primary research directions identified were pathophysiology, precise diagnosis, and individualized treatment. Recent research hotspots have mainly focused on epidemiology, the glymphatic system, and CSF biomarkers. Conclusion: The comprehensive bibliometric analysis of NPH offers insights into the main research directions, highlights key countries, contributors, and journals, and identifies significant research hotspots. This information serves as a valuable reference for scholars to further study NPH.

This study summarizes and analyzes the relationship between mitochondria and the pathogenesis of lung cancer. The related articles in the Web of Science core literature database are searched and collected, and the data are processed by R software, Citespace, VOSviewer, and Excel. A total of 4476 related papers were retrieved, 4476 articles from 20162 co-authors of 3968 institutions in 84 countries and published in 951 journals. Through various bibliometric analysis tools, the relationship between mitochondria and the pathogenesis of lung cancer was analyzed, the previous research results were summarized, and the potential research direction was found.

BACKGROUND: Intracranial aneurysms (IAs) pose significant health risks, attributable to their potential for sudden rupture, which can result in severe outcomes such as stroke and death. Despite extensive research, the variability of aneurysm behavior, with some remaining stable for years while others rupture unexpectedly, remains poorly understood. AIM: To employ bibliometric analysis to map the research landscape concerning risk factors associated with IAs rupture. METHODS: A systematic literature review of publications from 2004 to 2023 was conducted, analyzing 3804 documents from the Web of Science Core Collection database, with a focus on full-text articles and reviews in English. The analysis encompassed citation and co-citation networks, keyword bursts, and temporal trends to delineate the evolution of research themes and collaboration patterns. Advanced software tools, CiteSpace and VOSviewer, were utilized for comprehensive data visualization and trend analysis. RESULTS: Analysis uncovered a total of 3804 publications on IA rupture risk factors between 2006 and 2023. Research interest surged after 2013, peaking in 2023. The United States led with 28.97% of publications, garnering 37706 citations. Notable United States-China collaborations were observed. Capital Medical University produced 184 publications, while Utrecht University boasted a citation average of 69.62 per publication. "World Neurosurgery" published the most papers, contrasting with "Stroke", the most cited journal. The PHASES score from "Lancet Neurology" emerged as a vital rupture risk prediction tool. Early research favored endovascular therapy, transitioning to magnetic resonance imaging and flow diverters. "Subarachnoid hemorrhage" stood out as a recurrent keyword. CONCLUSION: This study assesses global IA research trends and highlights crucial gaps, guiding future investigations to improve preventive and therapeutic approaches.

Background: Rising anxiety and depression in primary school students adversely affect their development and academics, burdening families and schools. This trend necessitates urgent, focused research within this young demographic. This alarming trend calls for a systematic bibliometric analysis to develop effective preventative and remedial strategies. Objectives: This study aims to identify and analyze the prevailing research hotspots and emerging trends concerning anxiety and depression in primary school students, thereby furnishing a foundational reference for future academic endeavors in this area. Methods: This study uses the Web of Science (WOS) Core Collection database as the data source, focusing on literature published between 2013 and 2023 concerning anxiety and depression in primary school students. An initial search identified 1852 articles, which were then manually screened to exclude duplicates, conferences, announcements, and unrelated literature, resulting in 1791 relevant articles. The analysis, executed on December 31, 2023, employed CiteSpace and Vosviewer tools to assess various bibliometric indicators including authorship, country, institutional affiliations, publication trends, keyword frequency, and citation analysis. Results: The analysis revealed a corpus of 1,791 English-language articles, with a discernible upward trend in publications over the decade. The USA and China were the leading countries in this field, with 482and 272 papers, respectively. The research predominantly addresses the etiological factors of anxiety and depression, various intervention strategies, and the comorbidities associated with these conditions in the target population. Key research focuses have been identified in areas such as suicidal thoughts, bullying in schools, the impact of COVID-19, mindfulness interventions, and anxiety related to mathematics. Future research is projected to increasingly focus on the effects of mathematics anxiety on the psychological and behavioral outcomes in students. Conclusion: This study provides a critical visual and analytical overview of the key research areas and trends in the field of anxiety and depression among primary school students. It underscores the necessity of concentrating on the underlying causes and potential interventions. Such focused research is imperative for mitigating the mental health challenges faced by young students and enhancing their educational and developmental outcomes.

Background: Schizophrenia is a chronic mental illness that affects millions of individuals worldwide. The etiological origin of schizophrenia is heterogeneous, but it has been shown to be associated with dysfunction in serotonin activity, serotonin receptors, and serotonin metabolism in the brain. Bibliometric analysis is a tool used to scrutinise and analyse research activities and evidence in a specific research area. No existing bibliometric analyses have considered both serotonin and schizophrenia. Methods: We conducted a bibliometric analysis including 12,027 studies related to the schizophrenia-serotonin link published from the inception of the study to 2023 and available in the Scopus database. We used VOSviewer software to identify global trends, analyse the author and editors keywords, the most cited articles and author, as well as the most productive institutes and journals publishing research on schizophrenia-serotonin link. Results: Most publications related to the link between schizophrenia and serotonin are focused on adult humans and examine topics such as antipsychotic agents, depression, and serotonin uptake inhibitors. The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry has published the most papers on the schizophrenia-serotonin relationship. Among nations, the United States is the leader in publications. King's College London is the institution with the highest number of publications, and H. Y. Meltzer is the most influential author. Growing trends in schizophrenia-serotonin research are personalised medicine, alternative medicine, transcranial magnetic stimulation, artificial intelligence, nervous system inflammation, brain-gut axis, and the gut microbiome. Conclusion: Since 1950, there have been several fluctuations in the number of published studies related to schizophrenia and serotonin. We believe that the development of novel medications and treatments for schizophrenia will be increased in the future, as well as research into genetic risks, psychological factors, and cranial neuroimaging components. Future schizophrenia and serotonin research is likely to focus on personalised medicine, alternative therapies, novel pathogenesis of schizophrenia, and the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

AIM: To analyze the changes in scientific output relating to Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA) and forecast the study trends in this field. METHODS: All of the publications in the field of LCA from 2002 to 2022 were collected from Web of Science (WOS) database. We analyzed the quantity (number of publications), quality (citation and H-index) and development trends (relative research interest, RRI) of published LCA research over the last two decades. Moreover, VOSviewer software was applied to define the co-occurrence network of keywords in this field. RESULTS: A total of 2158 publications were ultimately examined. We found that the focus on LCA kept rising and peaked in 2015 and 2018, which is consistent with the development trend of gene therapy. The USA has contributed most to this field with 1162 publications, 56 674 citations and the highest H-index value (116). The keywords analysis was divided into five clusters to show the hotspots in the field of LCA, namely mechanism-related, genotype-related, local phenotype-related, system phenotype-related, and therapy-related. We also identified gene therapy and anti-retinal degeneration therapy as a major focus in recent years. CONCLUSION: Our study illustrates historical research process and future development trends in LCA field. This may help to guide the orientation for further clinical diagnosis, treatment and scientific research.

Background: In the study of atrial fibrillation (AF), a prevalent cardiac arrhythmia, the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in diagnostic and therapeutic strategies holds the potential to address existing limitations. This research employs bibliometrics to objectively investigate research hotspots, development trends, and existing issues in the application of AI within the AF field, aiming to provide targeted recommendations for relevant researchers. Methods: Relevant publications on the application of AI in AF field were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from 2013 to 2023. The bibliometric analysis was conducted by the R (4.2.2) "bibliometrix" package and VOSviewer(1.6.19). Results: Analysis of 912 publications reveals that the field of AI in AF is currently experiencing rapid development. The United States, China, and the United Kingdom have made outstanding contributions to this field. Acharya UR is a notable contributor and pioneer in the area. The following topics have been elucidated: AI's application in managing the risk of AF complications is a hot mature topic; AI-electrocardiograph for AF diagnosis and AI-assisted catheter ablation surgery are the emerging and booming topics; smart wearables for real-time AF monitoring and AI for individualized AF medication are niche and well-developed topics. Conclusion: This study offers comprehensive analysis of the origin, current status, and future trends of AI applications in AF, aiming to advance the development of the field.

Dendritic cells, which are crucial for inducing T-cell responses, are pivotal in current immunotherapy strategies aiming to replenish depleted T cells within the tumor microenvironment to combat tumors. Consequently, dendritic cell vaccine-based cancer therapies have garnered significant attention. Through bibliometric analysis, we examined research trends in this field. We searched the Web of Science core database and identified 16,476 articles on dendritic cell-based vaccines published from January 1, 2009, to December 30, 2023. The United States leads in this research domain, with Emory University being a prominent collaborator. The Journal of Immunology is the primary publication outlet, and Banchereau, J emerges as the most influential author. Recent hot keywords include nanoparticle, delivery, cancer vaccine, and clinical trial, indicating that cancer immunotherapy research, especially dendritic cell-based vaccines, is poised to become a future trend and hotspot.

Background: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is prevalent and associated with the development of various gastric diseases. On the other hand, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an immune-related intestinal disorder influenced by factors like gut microbiota imbalance, genetic predisposition, and environmental influences. Despite extensive research on the H. pylori-IBD relationship, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis in this area is lacking. Therefore, this study aims to use bibliometric methods to explore research trends, hotspots, and frontiers in H. pylori and IBD-related research, offering valuable insights for future research and clinical practice. Methods: We retrieved relevant literature on H. pylori and IBD from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and Scopus databases covering 2007 to 2024. We perform a comprehensive analysis within the WoSCC literature. We compare these findings with relevant results from Scopus. Results: Research on H. pylori and IBD has remained prominent in recent years. The United States leads in output, with strong contributions from authors, institutions, and journals. China, despite being a developing country, shows rapid article growth, signaling growing research potential. Key topics include Crohn's disease, gut microbiota, H. pylori infection, and ulcerative colitis. Newer interests include health, cancer prevention, and chronic gastritis. Conclusion: Over the past, research on H. pylori and IBD has primarily centered around epidemiology and clinical studies. The question of whether H. pylori definitively offers protective effects against IBD remains unresolved. Therefore, further investigation could explore the underlying mechanisms of their relationship or initiate long-term prospective cohort studies to gather more compelling evidence.

OBJECTIVE: Post-stroke depression (PSD) is a prevalent and severe sequela of stroke. It is an emotional disorder that significantly impacts functional recovery, prognosis, secondary stroke risk, and mortality among stroke survivors. The incidence rate of PSD is 18 %∼33 %, with symptoms such as low mood, decreased interest, sleep disorders, decreased appetite, impaired attention, and in severe cases, hallucinations and even suicidal tendencies. While diverse therapeutic modalities are employed globally to address PSD, each approach carries its inherent advantages and limitations. Notably, acupuncture stands out as a promising and effective intervention for ameliorating PSD symptoms and enhancing stroke prognosis. This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis to scrutinize the current landscape, identify hotspots, and explore frontiers in acupuncture research for PSD. METHODS: A systematic search for acupuncture and PSD-related research was conducted from January 2014 to October 2023 on the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The data were downloaded and processed using Bibliometrix and VOSviewer to generate knowledge visualization maps. RESULTS: A total of 11,540 articles related to acupuncture and PSD were retrieved. China emerged as the leading contributor with the highest volume of articles on acupuncture and PSD. Author Liu CZ attained the highest H-index, focusing primarily on investigating the compatibility effects and mechanisms of acupoints. Common hotspot keywords included pain, stimulation, mechanisms, complementary, and alternative medicine. The main research frontiers were mechanisms, neuroinflammation, gut microbiota, and therapeutic methods. CONCLUSION: This study offered multifaceted insights into acupuncture for PSD, unveiling pivotal areas, research hotspots, and emerging trends. The findings aimed to guide researchers in exploring novel research directions and selecting appropriate journals for advancing the understanding and treatment of PSD through acupuncture interventions.

Background: Cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis (CTX) is an autosomal recessive disease associated with lipid metabolic disorders. Because of its clinical diversity and rarity, the diagnosis is often unclear. However, there is still a lack of reports on bibliometric analysis of CTX. The aim of this study was to assess the progress and research developments of CTX over the past three decades, identify emerging trends, and establish novel directions for future research. Methods: The eligible literature were screened from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. The annual publication, countries, institutions, authors, journals, keywords and references were visually analyzed by Microsoft Excel 2019, CiteSpace 6.2.R4, VOSviewer 1.6.18 and online bibliometrics website (https://bibliometric.com/). Results: A total of 561 publications from WoSCC were included in this study. The United States is the country with the largest number of publications, and Karolinska Institutet is the institution with the largest number of publications. Björkhem I. ranks as the most published and cited author in the last three decades. Journal of Lipid Research is the most widely published and cited journal. The strongest burst of keywords is "diagnosis." Conclusion: Unraveling the pathogenesis of CTX and improving its diagnosis and treatment continue to be critical challenges that require urgent attention. Future research endeavors will be centered on enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of early diagnosis and intervention.

OBJECTIVE: Accumulating evidence indicates that oxidative stress and the disruption of antioxidant defenses play an important role in the neurobiology of bipolar disorder (BD). Studies have found that increased oxidative stress may be associated with cell apoptosis and neuronal damage in BD patients. Hence, this study explored the research field related to BD and oxidative stress from a bibliometrics perspective. METHODS: Literature search and relevant data retrieval based on the Web of Sciences Core Collection (WoSCC). R software (version 4.2.2), VOSviewer software (version 1.6.18), and CiteSpace (version 6.1.6) were used in this bibliometric analysis. RESULTS: A total of 2081 publications related to BD and oxidative stress were published between 1986 and 2024. Bipolar Disorders was the journal that had the most publications in this area (72; 3.46%; IF = 5.9), while the United States (1285; 61.7%) and the University of Toronto (377; 18.1%) were the most productive country and institution, respectively. Apart from "oxidative stress" and "bipolar disorder," the most frequently used keywords were "schizophrenia," "prefrontal cortex," and "nitric oxide." CONCLUSIONS: The growing number of publications related to BD and oxidative stress in recent years highlights the importance of this research field. Hot topics in research related to BD and oxidative stress included animal experiments and molecular mechanisms, psychiatric-related inflammation and biomarkers, neurodegenerative diseases, and metabolism. Furthermore, the biological mechanisms of BD, particularly biomarkers and inflammation, may be the emerging research priority area in the future.

Background: Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS), caused by the Dabie bandavirus (DBV), formerly known as the SFTS virus (SFTSV), is characterized by rapid progression, high morbidity, and mortality. This study aims to analyze the current research status, hotspots, and trends of SFTS since 2009 through bibliometrics, focusing on original research and providing valuable references and inspirations for future basic research, prevention and control of SFTS. Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) was used to extract global papers on SFTS from 2009 to 2024. VOSviewer and CiteSpace software were also used to process and visualize results. Results: A total of 760 publications relevant to SFTS were reviewed. Among these publications, the most active country, author, and publication type included China, Liu Wei, and original articles, respectively. Among the institutions, the National Institute of Infectious Diseases emerged as the top publisher. The most frequently used keywords were "China," "Bunyavirus," and "person-to-person transmission." The bibliometric analysis reviewed and summarized the research results in the field of SFTS and demonstrated the research trends in the field. In addition, the study revealed the current research hotspots and predicted the future research frontiers and potential challenges in the field of SFTS, which will provide references for further exploring and investigating the SFTS-related mechanisms and inspire new therapeutic strategies. Conclusion: Bibliometric visualization provides an overview of research advances, hotspots, and trends regarding SFTS and consolidates existing knowledge. SFTS research is in a phase of rapid development, and the number of annual publications in the field is growing steadily and rapidly. This is laying the groundwork for further research and providing new ideas for clinicians engaged in SFTS-related therapies and researchers working to improve public health. Currently, researchers are focused on elucidating the biology of SFTS, exploring antibodies, delving into pathogenesis, and investigating specific therapies.

Trypanosoma and Leishmania species are responsible of a range of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) from disfiguring conditions to fatal processes in humans. Both genera also affect wild and domestic animals causing diseases of public health significance and high economic impact on farm economy of developing areas. Japan has been actively involved in overseas cooperation and the country has a large scientific community. However, there is no information on the scientific output of Japanese scientists and institutions on these two NTDs. To explore the Japanese contribution and its profile, we have mined Web of Science database from 1971 to 2022 the articles by Japanese scientists, scientific areas and institutions, time-related variations of these parameters, and involvement in cooperation activities with foreign scientists. Research on Trypanosoma has been present in all the studied period, with higher production, whereas Leishmania-related activities showed a delay. A steady increased of Japanese scientific output was found up to the beginning of 2000s, whereas a certain stagnation was found in the present century. Low growth rate of research output on these two NTDs by Japanese authors in the 21st century is not correlated neither to the pattern found globally nor the situation in other parasitic infections. Thus, other elements should be considered in future analysis including the actual number of scientists involved and the available funding. Reinforcement of research groups from Japanese institutions and widening the scope of collaborations, particularly with health and academic centers from endemic regions, could trigger the Japanese productivity in the research area.

To explore the research hotspot, development trend and existing problem of artificial intelligence (AI) application in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion by using bibliometric method. Relevant articles of AI application in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion published in CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, PubMed and Web of Science from the database establishment to September 17, 2023 were searched. Excel 2019, CiteSpace 6.2.R4 and VOSviewer 1.6.19 were used to draw visual map of the number of publication, authors, research institutions and keywords, and further analyzed the research hotspot and trend. A total of 443 Chinese articles and 68 English articles were included. The number of annual publication of Chinese articles showed an overall increasing trend, while the number of publication of English articles was less, with a growing trend from 2020. Keywords analysis showed that "Machine learning", "neural network", "deep learning", "data mining", "robot" and other AI technologies were developing around acupuncture and moxibustion diagnosis and treatment of disease, efficacy prediction, teaching and intelligent equipment development. However, the research on the application of AI in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion is in the preliminary stage of development, and in the future, it is necessary to strengthen the communication and cooperation among the teams, to further explore the AI system in line with the characteristics of acupuncture and moxibustion diagnosis and treatment, and to promote the development of the digitalisation, intellectualisation and industrialisation of acupuncture and moxibustion.
